I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, is there a way I can upgrade the Wifi card wich is currently Intel Centrino N 1030 to an AC card, or a dual band N one as next alternative?

Intel 6230 card will work on this model. You can check the specifications of the card on Intel website.
Its an Intel 6230 802.11 a/b/g/n, BT3.0.

My PC doesn't get detect 5GHz and the increase bandwidth from my router, so I want to replace it. But before I take it apart, I want to make sure that I can do so and buy the right parts. Is this possible, and if so what should I get? I also want to add bluetooth as I remember the website had an option to do so, but bc the Costco Set Config was cheaper, I went that route instead.  Is it possible to do this internally w/o an external part [like a usb dongle] PS. I just upgraded my laptop from Win 8.1 to Win 10 Home Edition and after it was done just for curiosity sake I took a peek inside the Device Manager. Everything looked ok with the exception of " Sound, Video and Game Controllers - Bluetooth Audio Device " . I right clicked on the " Bluetooth Audio Device because of the exclamation mark and selected " Properties ". The box popped up showing the device couldn't start and it gave the reason. This is where I'm stumped and would like to know what to do to fix it.

I didn't know my machine was Bluetooth enabled but according to the device manager it must be. ( see snap ) How do I confirm it? I'd like to be able to transfer some om my photo's to my phone if possible.

Thanks for your help.........

Hello to the people who will probably help me on this from here onwards !!! So, I recently upgraded from windows 7 to 10 like a lot others. All excited to start, in no time I realised the wifi won't start. Boom! Now, I am stuck hanging onto a lan wire and can't move away. I am on hp pavillion dv6-7011tx with broadcom 4313gn 802.11b/g/n 1x1 wifi adapter. Driver Version : computer says my driver is up to date (or in my version the computer says : "you are screwed my friend!!!").  I am not able to find out anything on broadcom / hp / microsoft websites. Recently read this on hp website : This laptop was not tested for windows 10 upgrade. I would really appreciate, if someone can help me on this.  Thanks in anticipation

I have a Sony Vaio Pro 13 SVP1321M2EB and upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 when I bought the laptop about 8 months ago. I had no problems with it until a month ago ? after an automatic upgrade of 8.1 my Bluetooth adaptor disabled itself automatically and then uninstalled itself. I reinstalled a Bluetooth adaptor and had no problem for a week or so. Then the wifi connection would come and go and I would have to troubleshoot every 5 mins to get it working again ? I thought it was due to our internet because it?s satellite and very slow. Then both the Bluetooth and the wifi adaptors disappeared. I have reinstalled Intel Proset Wireless but my computer won?t recognise it even though it appears in Control Panel and now they don?t even appear as Hidden Items on the Device Manager. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both adaptors both through the Sony support site and directly through Intel numerous times and still nothing! I tried to go back to Windows 8 using the reset/refresh through the Assist button but I am told ?the drive where Windows is installed is locked?. I don?t know if it?s a hardware problem or a software problem?I have searched and searched everywhere online and done what has been suggested but still nothing! Advice please - thank you!

I am building a car PC out of an AMD E350 motherboard (link below...), which has mini PCIe & SO-DIMM slots as opposed to standard expansions & RAM. It is a simple, low power system, ideal for the application. I believe Win8 is the perfect platform for the application as well, since it works nicely with a touchscreen-oriented interface.

I bought a WiFi/bluetooth combo card off of eBay (link also below), but thus far, the WiFi isn't working. The BT works fine, but the wireless does not.

I verified that the driver is installed & working in Device Manager, but Windows does not give me the option to connect to a wireless network. In my Network Connections dialog, it only shows the wired LAN and the BT.

I am willing to accept the fact that the wireless driver is not compatible with Win8, but also wonder if it is a problem with the card?

A:Trouble with WiFi/Bluetooth card

Actually, I just double checked, and the driver is NOT installed for the Wi-Fi card. I was looking at the driver for the regular LAN controller. I was tricked because it is a MoBo integrated LAN controller, but the driver labels it as a Realtek PCIe.

I did download the driver exe from Realtek and I also tried the one from HP. Neither seems to load the WiFi functionality of this card.

Also, if it helps, the card is a Realtek branded for certain HP laptops.

I have 3 Probook 4530s Laptops. They have i5 CPUs USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports along with bluetooth 3.0 and HD display. The WiFi adapter speed  is 150mb on 2.4 gz band. At this time they all have 4g RAM and 1Tb hhd installed. I like the units as all of them were built in May and June, 2012. What I need to do is increase the internet connection speed plus add the 5.8 band to the 2.4 band. I would not like to have anything sticking out of the side of the computer that needed to be removed that might get lost. Can I replace the internal WiFi + Bluetooth 3.0 adapter to pickup the speed and both bands? If so, can anyone tell me what adapter I need to me looking for and what driver. I do not want to loose the bluetooth in all of this as I know the kids will want to use it.This whole building project I guess is my way of telling them that I'm with them if they need any help. Our time means more to them then money these days. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Respectfully.

I recently upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 with my XPS 13 (9343) laptop. Before the upgrade, I had no problem with any of the following devices with Windows 8.1. After the upgrade, I started experiencing the following issues:
1) Wifi: After restart or waking from sleep, I had to reconnect to my home network.Automatic reconnection was enabled and network adaptor's power management was modified but reconnection did not work well.
2) I had serious problems with my Bluetooth, especially with BT headphones. Once paired, it seemed to be working. However, after disconnecting and reconnecting, the headphones got connected but I did not hear any sound. Later, the headphones did not get connected but kept going to pairing mode but the Bluetooth setting showed that they are already paired. I am using a Bluetooth mouse. Interestingly, if I turn off the Bluetooth (from setting) and turn it on again, my Bluetooth mouse never get connected again.
Temporary solution: I installed network driver (9343_Network_Driver_74HW9_WN32_6.30.223.262.A01.exe) for Windows 8.1. This solved my wifi problem. I had reconnection all the time.
Regarding the Bluetooth mouse, it works as well.
Regarding the Bluetooth headphones, they worked for a while but I suddenly lost sound. Settings window showed that my headphone is still connected and audio playback device still showed that my Bluetooth headphone is active. I simply lost sound. The only way to temporarily fix this problem was... Read more

i have been through about 3 wifi cards in the spand of 2 laptops looking for the best range and speed without the interference. i had a realtek dualband wifi card with bluetooth and i sold that to get a a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 expecting that this would be the top of the line in wifi standards. i mainly sold my realtek because a issue with buletooth, if im using the wifi and i connect my bluetooth headset to the laptop the sound would be choppy and laggy. so when i got my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 i was amazed that this "was" no longer the issue. i connected my HBS-900 and walked out my apartment and down the hall and the bluetooth was clean! but it seems that now perhaps driver change the bluetooth on my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 is also bad. i cant even step 2 feet away from my laptop without it cracking to hell, at 3 feet and not facing the laptop i disconnect. it was never like that before and i know its not my headset because when i connect it to my phone its flawless, and i connected another bluetooth adapter and tried and its fine. the issue is that when the wifi is on theirs too much interference and yes when i connect to a 5g network the issue is greatly reduced but for me 5g is mostly not a option. i was wondering if theirs a such thing as a shielded internal wifi? wouldn't think so... i would just love if i could use the bluetooth and the wifi flawlessly. i already for another reason plan to get a Alfa AC1200 external wifi adapter... hello there, i have recently upgraded my service to 200mbs with a dual band smart router, modem and router capable of 1000mbs, after upgrade i come to find my wifi card only recieves 2.4ghz channel, its pitiful that my cell phone can get 140mbs on 5ghz and my new laptop can only get 100mbs via ethernet and less than 20mbs wireless, i took it to the local computer store and he did not want to touch the machine because this model is extremely hard to get into and i have read that if it only has One antenna i would have to disassemble the display aswell , so i am basically asking several questions, (1) can i upgrade to a card that is 2 x 2 A/b/g/n/AC 867mbs  like the intel 7260 or 8260 (2) does this machine have the required 2 antennas so i do not have to take apart the display?. i find it ludacris that this machine came out in 2016 and is not capable of reaching passed 100mbs, i would have never purchsed it, i intend to keep upgrading speed as long as my ISP keeps giving me good deals on service, i pay $60 for 200mbs.....card is realtek RTL8723benf Single band 2.4ghz 100mbs......thank you in advance

Hi All,
My Dell XPS L502x, windows 7 (64) had many BSODs before, but after finally managing updating Intel PROSet Wireless_15.6.1_Ds64, no BSOD for one month, till a few days ago.
Earlier crashes involved nvkflt.sys and igdkmd64.sys, now it is
ntoskrnl.exe DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (see all crash data attached).
I ran Driver Verifier, which within a second crashed (minidump attached).

The crashes often seem to be related to changing to other wifi networks.

I use this computer for my hobby to DJ live at dance parties, during which crashes are a real disaster. So, I really appreciate any suggestions.

I have a Dell XPS 15 L502X running windows 8.1 Pro. Dell's official drivers page says the laptop is not tested for windows 10 upgrade (Product Support | Dell US

So is anybody out there who has upgraded to windows 10? Are you facing any driver issues or any other issues? Is there anything else that I should be aware of before proceeding with my upgrade?

A:Dell XPS 15 L502X upgrade experience?

I've upgraded 8 systems to Windows 10. Seven of them Dell desktops and laptops. Some up to 6 years old. Some running Windows 7 Home or Pro, some running Windows 8.1 core.

Windows 7 and 8.1 drivers usually work in Windows 10. If there are any yellow flags in the Device Manager after installing Windows 10, loading a Windows 7 or 8.1 driver from the Dell drivers page for that model fixed it.

Good news: no whitelist Possible bad news: on HP laptops shipped with "budget" wireless cards, HP often only installed a single wireless antenna which effectively hampers meaningful upgrade.  So, before proceeding we need to have you open her up and count the wireless antennae. Easy to do on your model.  See p. 44 here: Manual Once you let us know (2 or 1)if it's 2 we can find you a 7260ac card to install. About $25 on amazon.com

A:Upgrade Ram and wifi Card

HI. The maximum memory for this computer is 512 MB, you can put 2X 256 MB per slot, the features are PC133 SDRAM SO-DIMM of 144 pins. As for the wifi card, the simplest and most practical is to use a USB type: ASUS 150MBPS USB-N10 Nano Regards.

A:Upgrade Wifi card

USB dongles generally come with a little mini-driver disk but they usually use a common chipset like Broadcom or Atheros for which Windows will likely just provide the driver and it will be plug and play

We are experiencing wifi interference between our probook and Netgear AC791 Jet Pack in some RV parks where we stay. The jetpack can use 5 ghz as can all our other devices, our probook can't. The jetpack can transmit on both, but is much slower on dual band than on either 2.4 or 5 ghz. so, how much effort and is it possible to upgrade the wifi in our probook to 5 ghz? Thanks for any direction you can provide.

GrumpyOldTimer Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! Sorry, but with laptops, the WiFi is integrated into the system board with a chipset. This is not a customer-replaceable part.

I have an Inspiron N7110, which came with an Intel centrino N 1030 wireless network card. Intel just updated the drivers for the 1030 on all OS's except windows 10. My internet connection goes on and off constantly. I found a pretty short list on intel.com of windows 10 supported drivers:
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260
Intel® Wireless-N 7260
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7265
Intel® Wireless-N 7265
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 (64-bit only)
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265
Intel® Wireless Gigabit 11000
I'm hoping someone knows if any of the above wifi cards would be fit for a replacement of my 1030.

A:Must Upgrade Wifi Card

If your N7110 uses a Mini-PCIe slot, the best card you can get is the Intel 7260AC, but make sure you get the HMW version, not the NGFF version. If your system uses an M.2/NGFF slot, I would recommend the Intel 8265.
