I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just received my brand new ThinkPad L380 Yoga yesterday and went through all of the regular set up steps.  The touch screen worked when I first opened it, but then after Windows 10 finished installing, the touch screen and pen no longer worked.  I have done all of the troubleshooting I've found listed in the forums and on the website aside from sending it back, but it still doesn't respond to touch.  The change happened right after Windows 10 was finished updating.  Is there something I'm missing?  Do I need to get an external mouse to try to disable the touchpad?  I'd really like to avoid sending it back if possible.  I know it has to be something I did and I just don't realize it.

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40°. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. I had no luck trying driver versions 7.3.3.12, 7.3.4.8 and 7.3.4.13. I would really appreciate your help since this issue makes working in the tablet position... Read more

I posted a similar question earlier and people referred me to the Yoga (much appreciated).  However, I was interested in the 2.6 lb carbon version with touch screen capabilities.  Asus has a Spin 7 model that is very good at 2.65lb, but I miss the red mouse toggle in the middle of the keyboard and Asus's track pad was designed too large....causing unintended tapping.  The Yoga, while nice, is heavier than I was looking for.  The 14 inch screen is about 3.3lb? the 12 inch at 3? I thought that some of the earlier Thinkpad Carbons had touch screen and was hoping they would make a return soon.  Thanks,

I have ben dealing with problems with this touch screen since I got the laptop.  It has been continuously ghosting, while it got better after the June update, it still ghosts without touches, until you start using the touch screen.  When using the touch screen it starts drawing gray lines in between the point im touching and the point its ghosting to (the lines arent always direct). I recently wiped my the drive, reimaged to a backup from april and tried reupdating it.  When I got to the touch screen drivers, I got through the initial setup and told it to open the update when finished but the machine froze.  Now when I try to reinstall, I get to the finish page on the update tools install, have it open the updater, but the program immediately closes.Any help would be much appreciated.

I realized my Lenovo thinkpad ordered from bestbuy does not have a stylus.  I simply thought it was a port until it was pointed out by a collegue. Anyways I've been getting run around from Lenovo tech support as well as best buy/ bestbuy.com I simply want to replace a pen that did not come with the computer.  I was on the phone with Best buy and Bestbuy.com separately for 45 minutes.  They could not solve it.  I don't want to make this a federal case.  I just want the part that did not come with the Laptop  Thanks Lenovo email tech support:RE: J Waters9:30 AM (3 hours ago) to me Good afternoon XXXX,I apologize but, this case states that if the machine did not come with the stylus and you purchased it directly from Lenovo, You will need to contact Lenovo Sales at 1.855.253.6686 to file a missing parts claim or to set up a return or exchange. Hello, A few weeks ago I had issues with my ThinkPad and, under warranty, was exchanged for a new ThinkPad L380 Yoga (honestly, I miss my last ThinkPad). My main problem with the L380 Yoga is the Pen Pro. I am a student and use Microsoft Word and OneNote daily, I never had any problems with the pen on my last laptop. However, the bottom (eraser) button on the side of the pen does not work consistently. It'll work for a short period of time until it stops randomly; the only way to fix this is to completely restart my computer. This is very inconvenient for me as I am rarely in a position where I can afford to lose a few minutes restarting my computer that often. The top (lasso) button on the side works perfectly fine and never has any issues. I tried switching the functionalities and the eraser worked on the top, but then the lasso stopped working with the bottom button. Has anyone else had a problem with this/know a solution? I want to get this figured out before my warranty expires. Every forum I have looked at online claims that Lenovo knows about this problem but is failing to come up with a solution to help customers. I've invested way too much money in laptops from this company to have such a hard time finding a solution to such a seemingly fixable problem! Thanks,Frustrated Customer

Dear community,  I am thinking about getting a Thinkpad L380 Yoga since I need a more portable device than my T570. I did some research and found some issues I would like to ask real users of the notebook about. It would be great if some of you may take some time to answer my questions.  Display:  My T570 got a non-glaring screen, so usually the brightness is set to the lowest (or second lowest) value. Is this also possible with the L380 or is a higher brightness necessary under normal indoor conditions? Durability:  One reviewer stated that the build quality of the L380 is not on par with other Thinkpads. Is that true? Have you experienced damages caused by daily use? Active Pen Most reviews only mentioned very basic information on the Active Pen. As I am going to use it very often, I would like to know if there are some issues with it like jitters? If there is anything else you dislike about the L380 it would be great to know. Thanks in advance for your answers!

Hey! Does anyone has any idea where I can buy a new Pen for the ThinkPad L380 Yoga? Most of the Pens available are made for a diffrent model and are therefore too long to fit in the pen silo of my TP L380 Yoga. The Pen that it came with it is ~123mmThe Pens available on the internet are 219mm (so they would stick out the silo and probably break) Also: is there a way to change the mine or do I have to buy a new Pen everytime? Kind regardsQ

A:DO NOT BUY the Thinkpad L380 yoga (especially if you expect quality)

Yes, it's a terrible buy. There are many other problems with the model besides the flickering of the screen, the pen problem, the battery problem, the trackpoint problem, some have connection issues in certain circumstances, bleeding of white from the edges of the screen, and the list goes on. You can definitely not associate this with quality. The keyboard is nice though. Rest is a pos.

Have you tried parts lookup?  Sorry if you did this already.  Don't post you serila number here/online BUT if you input it at the below website it should provide the parts your laptop was built with.

Then you can buy at the Lenovo  Encompass store or other places.

1. It is just the laptop box. The laptop itself has 0 cushioning, just 2 pieces of plastic to hold it in place and a piece of cardboard under it which also houses the manuals.2. Can't help you there.3. I believe there is a sticker on the thing that says "Do not deliver if box is damaged" on all laptops because they have Li ion batteries. Call Lenovo if it is damaged.4. Yes, if you contact them. You have 21 days from the day that it ships from the warehouse, normally, I believe. I think this also means that if it took 20 calender days to actually make it to your house, you have only 1 day left, but I'm sure that Lenovo will be understanding enough if you report it promptly.5. Highly doubt it, for both parts.Don't be paranoid about it. If it arrives damaged, take it up with UPS or Lenovo. Worrying will not help you or change the fact that it may arrive damaged. Most, as in probably almost all, laptops ship undamaged, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I recently bought Lenovo Thinkpad L380 and I see that display is very dull though it supports anti-glare. I keep it to the maximum brightness but still, I see that the display is not bright enough (No Power mode is ON). I tried changing the brightness values using the Intel Graphic Display settings but it doesn't seem working out well as it just enhances the overall brightness and the screen looks weird. Has anyone faced this kind of behavior?

I bought a Lenovo ThinkPad L380 Yoga in August 2018. It has been used very carefully without any drops or other accidents. Today, I discovered a hairline crack on the palm rest just next to the bottom-left corner of the touchpad.  I contacted Lenovo support regarding this matter, and after seeing the photos that  I sent them (the same photos are attached here), they have concluded that it is a customer induced damage (CID) and will not be covered under warranty. The only justification for their conclusion was that there is no such issue reported in other laptops. This justification was made over the phone when I requested them an email regarding their justification. It is only the hand that is kept around this region of the palm rest. If it cannot bear the weight of the hand, I suppose the build quality and material is pretty cheap although the price was about 1800 NZD.  Have you also come across similar issues with the same L380 Yoga? What are the situations/scenarios for such a crack to happen when the device has been properly used and maintained in accordance with the product information guide? Cheers!!

First thing you have to do with a new computer is update it. Lots of drivers have come down the pike since your machine came off the line. Drivers are often updated to handle changes in Windows. So, if Windows updates itself and you haven't updated drivers with it, the odds of having a crash go way up. Download and use Lenovo Vantage to make sure all your drivers and especially the BIOS for your machine are up to date.

If that's all good, then it might be worth looking at McAfee's settings. McAfee - as well as other third-party AV software - has a nasty habit of launching system scans and self-updating as soon as you turn on the computer. Especially if it's set for a weekly scan, then misses that because the computer is off. This can consume a lot of resources causing other programs to crash. Next time Outlook crashes, launch Task Manager and see if something else is hogging the system.

I recently bought a Lenovo ThinkPad L380 directly from Lenovo. Is a solid laptop with great specs and battery life, however the trackpad starts skipping, feels unresponsive and jitters. This happens consistently and on every time I use the laptop from more than 5-10 minutes.I've tried all of the following with no solution:1. Reinstalling drivers from Lenovo site2. Changing charger cable (this was recorded actually in battery power, so happens both connected and not connected to power)3. Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it again.4. Powering off the laptop, holding the power button for 60 seconds then powering it back again.5. Changing the settings for sensitivity6. Disabling the track-pointI was wondering what would cause that and if I should just return the laptop and get another one with a non-defective trackpad.

So I got my Thinkpad p40 a few days ago and so far it's been great, with just one problem. The small stylus, the one that's housed in the body of the laptop doesn't work. I'm not sure if the pen itself is defective, or if the charging port is. The separate full-sized pen, the Thinkpad Pen Pro (4X80H34887) functions just fine. I've left the laptop plugged in overnight multiple nights but to no avail, and there doesn't seem to be any 'pen charging driver' in the driver list, just indicators. I've tried various programs, including Lenovo's low battery indicator and the laptop stylus simply doesn't work at all. The Pen Pro works in all the same situations. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

Hi, I am new to using both a touchscreen and stylus on a laptop.  I bought this model with the theory of being able to easily annotate PDFs.  However I have found no matter the software that the stylus/software is rendered un-usable as my hand, on the large 14" screen constantly interferes when trying to use the stylus. Any suggestions please?  Lenovo "Technical" support were anything but. Thank you

I have two problems i amd struggling to get support from Lenovo on..  1. When i connect my P40 Yoga to a 2nd Display and set my desktop to extended mode. When ever i right-click the 'context' menu that appears is not in the same location as where the stylus is. It appears to be offset based on the amount of total desktop space (becuase its extended) rather than just the actualy lenovo laptop screen. (which is the only screen thats compatible with the stylus). Any suggestions? 2. This one has only started happening recently. The Wacom service: Tablet Service for ISD Driver is constantly using 75% of my CPU and generally makes the device unusable. If i disable the service i am no longer able to use my stylus.. (which is the whole point for buying this laptop at $2000!). It continues to use 75% of my CPU no matter what i do (even when not using the stylus). It appears to use more and more memory over time as well.. Who should be fixing this Lenovo or Wacom?  ?

Hi, March of  last year (2016) I bought the Lenovo Ideacentre AIO 700 24" mainly because the clerk at BestBuy told me I could draw right on the screen with a stylus and that was not just on Sketchbook Pro 7 (bundled in) but with any drawing program. I called Lenovo at that time, they said the same thing.  I put it away as I had projects to complete and now have it set up, bought a Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition, which is great, but that stylus doesn't work on Sketchbook, or anywhere on the screen. Neither does my old little Bamboo Tablet's stylus. Wacom says, Oh, sorry, try another maybe. Lenovo said, only Wacom, then they realized my warranty or whatever had expired two weeks ago and wouldn't continue the conversation, stating if I were to purchase a new year, they could talk to me further, otherwise no. Nothing works and I cannot find any info....so here I am.Is there the functionality of drawing on my screen with a stylus of any kind at all? I know many are available but Wacom's are not compatible, and though I love my desktop, every reason I got it and the new $549.  Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Edition (great product) and all I actually wish to do is draw with a stylus on this screen. No info online, maybe there's an expert here!

As stated in the title my Trackpoint is causing my cursor to drift to the right side of the screen. It only does this whenever I physically pick up the laptop or bend the right corner of the palmrest. I've tried to rule out any software related issues by updating the OS to the latest Windows Build, updating BIOS to 1.13, drivers for UltraNav. Once I realized none of this worked I rolled the BIOS back to 1.12 and restored the unit but it is still happening. If I turn off the Trackpoint in Control Panel -> Mouse the issue stops. I do not remember this happening when I first opened it. Any idea as to what is causing it? Thanks!
