Changing color of text

Q: Changing color of text

Does anyone know how to change the color of the text on web pages? A step-by-step guide would be helpful. Thanks!!!

Preferred Solution: Changing color of text

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

By default, Internet Explorer will change the color of links that have been clicked on. This behavior applies to all web sites. If you open Internet Explorer and click Tools, Internet Options (Or just Options), you should see a button labeled Colors. If you click that, you can customize what colors the links are before they're clicked on (unvisited) and after (visited).

Please tell me you do not know is it possible to change the text color of the taskbar buttons in Windows 7 as follows, namely,
When you select the button (the active window) button text black, and when the inactive window (the button is not selected) color white text.

This was implemented in Windows XP, and it was possible to change the color of active and inactive buttons (Example taskbar_xp.jpeg)

URL: https://1drv.ms/i/s!Akjzbd2kT8labsABzRpCcW6SSSk

But in Windows 7, I can not carry it (You can just simply change the color of the text, regardless of the activity buttons (

Maybe you know the ways of implementation of this task?

P.S. Tell, why should I care. The answer is (example taskbar_seven.jpeg) - The fact that the taskbar white text merges the active button, but the difference on the inactive buttons - good contrast)

Hello all,
I am looking to modify the color of a Rainmeter skin that I have made, and want it to change based on the "average" color of the current wallpaper. I was thinking that the solution to this may be along the lines of how the Aero-glass used to work on Win7, or how the "automatic color picker" works now on Win8, where it changes the taskbar color based on the average color represented in your wallpaper.

Any suggestions as to where I might find code to get me started, or if any of you might be willing to help me do this? While this obviously isn't a task of utmost importance, I'm pretty sure we all love making things look the way we want them to.

Thanks in advance,

For instance, if I highlight a word in a text-entry field, it's a very bright blue. This is also true in Firefox, Thunderbird, Word, OneNote, various fora, etc. but not in Excel.

Prior to installing Windows 10, the highlight in a text-entry field was either pale grey (on dark backgrounds) or darker grey (on light backgrounds), which is what I'd like to have back.

Any ideas?

A:Would like to change the text highlight color in text-entry fields

Are you talking about doing this, but with gray and not red?

Open up Notepadcopy the registry settings in the code box(left click 3 times slowly)Paste into NotePadYou will need to find the RGB values(if the ones I have supplied are not what you want) for the color you want, and change them.Create a registry file by saving(to Desktop or Documents) as TextColor.regDouble click the reg file.Sign out, sign in and your finished. To change the values just right click the file and choose edit, make the changes, save, close and see point #6

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors]
"Hilight"="192 192 192"
"MenuHilight"="192 192 192"
Light Gray RGB=192 192 192
Darker Gray RGB= 105 105 105

Here is the reg file in case you have problems doing it yourself, using light gray: GrayHighlights.zip

if i right click on a folder and select properties, most of the text in the window is black. (see image below)

my question is, is there a way to change the font color using native-to-windows settings or do i need a program, and if so, what program would you recomend if you know of any?

I recently upgraded to Windows 10. I kept the same desktop, but the text under the icons which used to be white turned black, which makes it hard to read on the dark background. If I point the mouse at the icon, then a white square appears behind icon and text. But I'd like the text ALWAYS to be white, in which case I don't need those white squares.

Also. as I am typing this, I find the font hard to read; I'd like to change it to Arial or similar font, and a bit bigger.

Thank you.

Hi there. I've been customizing my desktop today, and I've found a pretty good theme, and I've been using Windows 7 Style Builder to change some of the colors to fit the rest of my skins. However, I'm having trouble with one tiny font color.

I can't seem to get the Icon Text Color to stay put. I can "Test" it in Style Builder, and it works fine. It shows up as the correct teal color that I want. But then when I save it, and I actually use the visual style...all of a sudden the text is back to the skin's default grey color. How come it won't just stay?

This is the text I'm trying to change:

The theme I'm using is Placebo.

I don't know if the theme is overwriting my Style Builder settings, or if Windows is being silly :P

Any help is appreciated.

A:Icon Text Color

sounds like it is overwriting it, you would have to change the font color in the theme, you need to either ask the theme maker to alter it or permit you to, or wait for Bongo to come online and he will look at it as that is his speciality

Hey its been a while since I've come to tech guy for a helping hand, but its the best source of information and after a good few days of searching Google over i haven't found a very definitive answer to my question. Below is an example of what i've been doing to create colored text in my console programs. however i have come to a problematic point in coding.

Before i get to in depth here, i am wanting to use colored text in a console program for a very specific reason, mainly to make an aesthetically pleasing hack and slash game I've been working on as a nostalgia project.

but the problem i'm facing is changing both the font and background colors for a string of text... if i use the values below that start with a 3 such as 32, 33, 34 and so on i can change text color. and i know that if i change that first three to a 4 such as 42, 43, 44 and so on i can change the background to the corresponding color. but how do i change both text and background colors for a string say as to get a dark red background with yellow text or something... is there a way to do this, is the way I'm currently doing this wrong or inefficient?

any help would be greatly appreciated. and I'm open to new ideas...

as a disclaimer, bear in mind i am extremely new to c/c++ , i learn by doing and experimenting, so if you could keep in mind your talking to someone with limited c/c++ knowledge.. thanks..

When I'm in the Metro (there I used that word again) screen and I show "All apps", the apps are categorized with a heading. The problem is, the background color is blue and the heading is also blue; although it is a different shade of blue. It would be far easier if the headings were a different color than the back ground. Is there a way to change the color of one or the other? One would think that MS would have thought of that.

A:Changing color

I don't know about changing the text, but you can certainly change the background color.

You would go to PC Settings, and then Personalize. CHange to the Start Screen section, and choose the color. Note that the color sections have background and foreground colors, choose a color scheme that has more contrast. Like grey and blue.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this site so hopefully you all can help me out with this problem. My friend has an IBM Thinkpad Notebook running WinXp and it is having an issue with how is displays text and color. For example, I went to the IBM website to search for some updates to see if that would fix the problem, when the IBM site loaded the text has huge, I'm taking like 60 pt font, it was big. Also, when you load google.com, the links under the search bar are bigger than usual and the text line that blinks is like a big black box instead of a line. The color displays incorrectly also. I went to the windows update page and the links to the updates were a light pinkish color and the font was running of the page. A lot of the windows (like the user account window) do not display colors correctly or the colors are not even displayed. I have tried changing font setting in internet explorer, changing color schemes, changing resolutions, nothing seems to work. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate any input with this matter...thank you!

A:Text and Color Displays Incorrectly

Have you tried changing the DPI (dots per inch) setting;
right click empty area of desktop/properties/settings tab/advanced box, I know this effects how large icons and other items appear.
The Appearance tab has a setting for the Font sizes too as well as in IE.

Another solution is to check display drivers/update

This site suggests disabling "Screen Expansion" in ThinkPad Configuration Utility which can cause distortion in this model.
See here:

Hope this helps
