I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I'm working with PS Cs2 and frustrated to no end with the clone tool. What am I doing wrong? No matter what I do I keep picking up the area around the image that I want to clone. This is what I'm doing. I've created a duplicate layer, checked align & sample all layers. I have clone tool set as a brush tip. I alt click what I want to clone, then create a new layer and drag my mouse until the image appears (also tried this without creating a new layer, same result). But what ever is around the image also appears. Like the attached image. I only want to clone the chicken. But the floor/straw as well as other chickens are showing up. Help please?

With Windows 8.1, I am now having problems displaying and importing jpegs.   They show in odd colors, with a lot of black in them.    This wasn't the case early on, but now jpegs are impossible to work with for me.   I
only use -- Windows Photo Viewer, and place them in WORD documents.  Nothing fancy.   I cannot find a resolution here or anywhere.  Can you help?
.....
This is crazy.  When I try to save the BAD image, it looks horrible (blue, purple, heavy black frame) on my screen in PHoto Viewer, but I import it here and it looks fine.  Please, help.

To all -

My first post in this forum, but I've been around the block a few times building my own machines (and for others), but a month ago i ended up springing for a dell xps 8300 desktop b.c i got a great deal on a scratch and dent system with an i7-2600 processor, 1.5tb drive, and an ATI 5770 1gb graphics card.
So long story short I've added one component and upgraded one existing component. The first was adding an SSD drive to the mix, which worked out wonderfully (i boot from power off to desktop in 13 seconds). Very pleased.
The second seemed to be just as successful...I replaced the stock PSU (460watts) with an Antec 650watt continuous power PSU (certified and all). Reconnected all the cables, crossed my fingers, turned on the power supply...got the green light on the motherboard so turned on the computer and all was fantastic!!!
The catch is..........I didn't notice until hours later i'd not heard a sound from the computer in quite some time. Tested by playing a few songs and nothing.

Here's where i got lost. In the "playback devices" (right clicking on the audio icon in the task manager tray) it shows the music playing (as in the levels are bouncing up and down). First thought - i'm an idiot and plugged my speakers into the wrong hole.....not the case. Second thought - speakers could be toast - not the case. Tested speakers on mp3 player and tested the audio cable by plugging headphones in the front audio ports (th... Read more

Last night, My MS Paint GUI went screwy.

It looks like it is out of Aero mode or something, but Aero troubleshooter found no problem & everything else is fine. I was having an issue with a video game for PC (full screen) which normally fiddles with the Windows theme, but I honestly dont know.

I dont like the adjusted look, and fear this is one of those simple problems with a insanely complex solution.

Thanks in advance, back later

Hi everybody,
since friday we have a strange problem with some clients and ARP answers. We notice that our switch recognize wrong MAC addresses on some ports.
We use wireshark to see what happens and we get the following:
5 clients:

172.30.71.6 (XX:XX:XX:F7:52:75)172.30.41.1 (XX:XX:XX:38:d1:a8)172.30.63.1 (XX:XX:XX:c2:b0:b9)172.30.14.1 (XX:XX:XX:88:c7:4f)172.30.59.1 (XX:XX:XX:7b:67:4d)
Wireshark runs on client 1 (172.30.71.6, promiscuous mod off)
Client 5 (172.30.59.1) send a broadcast arp question (who has 172.30.41.1 - tell 172.30.59.1) and client 1 (172.30.71.6) is sending ARP replies with src = XX:XX:XX: 38:d1:a8.

172.30.41.1 (XX:XX:XX:38:d1:a8) is offline (network cable removed) and 172.30.71.6 has no entry of 172.30.41.1 (XX:XX:XX:38:d1:a8) in his arp cache.
The clients run Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1
Why we get these phenomenon and how can we solve it? Is there maybe a problem with some updates of the last patchday?

Thanks for the reply and kind regards

Bernd

Situation 1
-------------
Hello. I had “music store card” [gift card] that I received as a birthday gift lying around so I figured let me it out. Anyway, I purchased 3 songs from iTunes.com. Attempted to burn them. It didn’t work I got some sort of write error on the CD.

While in main screen I clicked Edit > Preferences > Advance > Burning: Discovered that the settings were set to burn an Audio CD. However, I was using a Data CD. Is this why it didn’t work? Last I read up it should have worked. The disk was a CD-R Memorex Cool Color CD-R. This shouldn’t have proven to be a problem right?

This disk can’t be played in Xbox (original not Xbox 360).

Situation 2
-------------
In another situation I tried burning a copy of and an mp3-to-Audio-CD.

When copying the Audio-CD I was using Nero Burn Ultra Edition 6.6.1.4. Got the error message saying along the lines of “write fail, unable to finish end session.” Same thing happened when I was trying to make an mp3-to-Audio-CD, except I was using Microsoft Windows Media Player Version 10.0.

This disk can’t be played in Xbox (original not Xbox 360).

So what am I doing wrong? Here are my objectives:

1) Want to burn audio CDs that will play in cars, stereo systems, DVD players, Xbox, and Xbox360 – when I get it . If I keep purchasing music from iTunes.com, this may prove difficult?

2) What media should I use for what ty... Read more

Asuka's Knight: Sorry for the delay, we have been very busy. Let's get started. We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time. Click here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...p1/default.mspx Apply the update. Reboot when requested then return to Windows Update, choose Custom Install, and install any remaining Critical Updates. Hold off on SP2 for now. Otherwise you're going to continue to get infected. After you have been given the all clear and are comfortable that all is working as it should, then I recommend you go ahead and install SP2. As SP2 is a large update, you may want to order the CD from Microsoft instead of downloading the file. Order Here. After the updates have been installed, please reply back with a new HiJackThis log.Thanks.

A:What's Wrong With My Hjt?

Hello,It's better to print out the next instructions or save it in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!Hijackthis is still in your temp-folder, so I strongly advise to create a permanent folder and move hijackthis.exe into it. The reason is because hijackthis creates backups and when it's in your temp-folder it can be accidentally deleted. How do you make a permanent folder:Click My Computer, then C:\ and then on Program Files. In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis".Now you have C:\Program Files\HijackThis. Put your HijackThis.exe there.* Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.* Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your desktop.Do not use it yet. Please download Ewido anti-malware ; it is a free version of the program.Install ewido security suiteWhen installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..Install background guardInstall scan via context menuLaunch ewido by double-clicking on the icon on your desktop. The program will now open to the main screen. When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". There are several issues with my computer right now, here i am disappointed, famished and desperate for the aid of this forum.

- My monitor trips, like it goes blank for 2-3 seconds randomly (could be an hardware issue)

- My computer even though on SSD is slow at times

- I had 3 other hard drives and one of them was ancient and contained bad sectors so i have disconnected it, which improved my PC but the two others, one of them is relatively old and one is a brand new one, what happens is, my PC at times would crash and then PC fails to reboot from the SSD and accesses old drives for windows which have none, therefore, I cannot boot, in order to fix it, I have to open my PC, disconnect my hard drives so the only remaining is SSD and restart my PC which where the boot actually happens and then i reconnect my other drives again, this happens after every few days? ??????? >.<

- Thirdly, I am using a Samsung 27' monitor and I do not know what is wrong with all of this, i cannot enter bios, it presents me with a blank screen, so I cannot re-install windows too, I have windows written on a USB drive too and it gives me a strange error that my drives are some other type, whereas initially I have installed the windows from that very USB.

I spend decent money to get this pc made, but.... =( help.

Also my start button isn't responding and "My Computer" doesn't appear on my desktop.

My little brother and sister share a computer, and it has become quite messed up. Popups, spyware, trojans. McAfee has helped all it can, and I've tried to clear this stuff out with adaware and spybot, but to no avail. I have followed the posted instructions and recommendations.Every time I run HijackThis things come back. Like SurfSidekick (ssk)... I can't get it to go away. I'm running HJT in safe mode, I downloaded it onto my cmputer, etc. Everthing is still such a mess. Any assistance would be most appreciated. I ave posted the HJT log below. Hello,First of all, you didn't unzip/extract hijackthis.. and it's still in the tempfolder. So I strongly advise to unzip/extract hijackthis.zip.Read here how to unzip/extract properly:http://metallica.geekstogo.com/xpcompressedexplanation.htmlCreate a permanent folder and move hijackthis.exe into it. Put your HijackThis.exe there.Download Brute Force Uninstaller to your C:\Unzip it to a folder of its own (C:\BFU). So the BFU-folder should be on your root. OS: windows 8.1
RAM: 10gb
Processor: AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon HD Graphics (4 CPUs), 2.0GHz
ETC

my pc is gradually slowing down more and more and i don't know why. also i'm fairly good with pcs. it's not a very good pc for 2017, but it's unusually slower than it should be.

this problem is more obvious in browsers when i play games, but it seems to be a pc wide problem. i have warframe, smite, and a couple other games on my pc. i always had to play these games on low quality and still have low fps, but any time i start playing a new game, over time the performance of that particular game starts to slow down even more, and it's not because of game updates.
a long time ago when i started playing bonk.io on firefox (because chrome wasn't good with flash games) it ran perfectly. i had absolutely no hardware lag on that game. then over time the performance started to dip. this has happened with pretty much every flash game i played long term too.

my pc is also unusually slow while browsing, or even starting up. everything is just slow.....

i tried uninstalling unused programs, defragging, removing trash browser extensions and plugins. none of it made a real difference.
help?

A:Something wrong with my PC?

Hi there,

With regards to your slow browsing, I recommend downloading "CCleaner", install this program onto your computer, and use this program to clean up the temp files, cookies, etc.etc. that slows down browsing. Here's the link to the CCleaner program. Download the FREE version = https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

With regards to the slow performance of your computer, try performing a CHECK DISK REPAIR and see if that helps fix the issue. Check this link out, it's the instructions on how to perform a Check Disk Repair = https://neosmart.net/wiki/chkdsk/#CH...indows_8_or_81

Also, check the space of your hard drive through My Computer. Is your hard drive space almost full? Assuming so, it would surely benefit in the performance of your computer by deleting any files you no longer need, or transfer the files onto another source(e.g. External Hard Drive, Cloud, etc.etc.).

Hope everything works out well for you.

I think something is wrong with my computer. When I run the Kaspersky Online scan it tells me that I have 5 viruses but it gets stuck in the middle of the scan and i can't delete them. Also, something was going on where my volume control settings mysteriously disappeared and I couldn't do anything with the volume on my computer. Actually there have been all kinds of things that have been going wrong ( so many I can't even remember) and I don't know what to do. All of these issues don't seem to have any relation at all. I also got an error talking about generic host process for win32 has encountered a problem and needs to close. I think it's probably a virus and I've run alot of scans and the only one that seems to find anything is Kaspersky Online but like I said it freezes. My computer is brand new so I don't understand why this is happening. I am using Windows 8.1 on Aspire E5-552G and the camera app has stopped working all of a sudden, with the following error message; "Looks like there is something wrong with your camera. Check the manufacturer's website for more info". Does anyone have a solution?

A:Looks like there is something wrong with your came...

In this case, it is recommended to reinstall camera software and drivers and see if that helps. You can reinstall this using the installation disc that you may have got with the camera. Else, you can go to the respective manufacturer's website for the same. If reinstalling software and drivers does not help, you can perform System Restore to restore your system back to a point in time when the camera was working fine. To do this, refer to the section "Restore your PC to an earlier point in time" on the following link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc Hope this will help you.

A:Anything Wrong With This?

Okay sorry, I forgot to mention whats wrong! Okay, so my desktop properties is messed up. I had spyware and viruses, which I deleted, but now when I click on the properites window on the desktop, I only get the screen saver and settings tab. Also, my background is stuck on a blue screen with the message " SPYWARE INFECTION Your system is infected with spyware. Windows reccomends you to use a spyware removal tool to prevent loss of important data and increase system performance. Using this PC before having it cleaned of spyware threats is highly discouraged."

Problem is, I cleaned it and deleted all the spyware and viruses! I put up a ZoneAlarm firewall, but it's still messed up! Can anyone help me please?

Hi,The forums are really busy, that explains why logs get behind. We start with the oldest logs first. If you still need some help, please start with posting a new hijackthislog in this thread. Don't start with a new thread. Then I'll take a look. Also, Any reason why your windows isn't up to date? You don't have even ServicePack1 installed! Remember that your system is extremely vulnerable without the necessary security patches/updates, so malware can get installed automatically while surfing without any problems. Please visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and update to Service Pack 1. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time. When your system is clean afterwards, then update to SP2, because updating to SP2 CAN cause problems as long as you are infected. Please update before you post a new hijackthislog.

Step #1You have a Lop infection which comes bundled with messenger Plus.Go to Add/Remove programs. Double click on "Messenger Plus!" (or click on Remove)
The "Messenger Plus! - Setup" is now displayed. Click on the Uninstall button. Note: options displayed on the first screen are not related to the sponsor program.
The sponsor screen is now displayed (if you don't see it, search for it in your Task Bar). To prove that someone is currently reading the screen, you have to type the code that is displayed. Once you enter the code, press Uninstall.
If you entered the code properly, the program will ask you to confirm that you want to uninstall. You must answer "Yes" to this question, else, you won't have another chance of uninstalling.
To complete the uninstallation, follow the instructions that are displayed (the first one is to close all your Internet Explorer windows, that's very important). When everything is complete, restart your computer and, hopefully the infection should be gone.
Please then post a fresh log (in this thread) after rebooting and we'll deal with the other bad entry in your log.If you want to keep Messenger Plus, download it again AFTER we've cleaned you.The Lop sponsored advertising program must be rejected.Read the installation procedures carefully. When you get to the Sponsor Agreement, SELECT: ?I Refuse to give my support, install Messenger Plus! without the sponsor'.Step #2Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in ... Hello,
Since being on this forum I've learned a lot. So one thing I did was create a non-administrative account to run from. I installed in the user account. I copied the setting from the administrator on the TBird setup. It recently updated to 3.14 and the admin account is fine. The user account still says load update to 3.14 even though I allowed it to do so in the user account twice. What did I do or miss? Thanks for any help.
glennc

A:What did I do wrong?

What have you created the non-administrative account for if you don't mind me asking?

In most cases, home users would have their account set as an administrator otherwise you will hit brick walls when trying to install/update software or access areas of the c:\ drive.

Hello,

I am not sure if I am posting this in the correct forum, but I got hit with a t.swapx.cc version of malware last night. I googled my "new" home page, and got this forum, and found lots of very helpful instructions on how to start cleaning it up. However, two problems:

Whenever I run either an online virus scan (eg TrendMicro) or when I tried to run Hijack This, or Spybot or any other app. my comp crashes (NT Administrator is restarting your computer due to unexpected termination of remote process call server?????) I am running Windows XP.

After a couple of reboots, explorer.exe would crash (you get the little screen that says explorer.exe is no longer responding, press to end task etc etc and then it treis to send the error message back to microsoft etc)

Now pretty much nothing works without crashing. I am sorry I have no HJT log for you, but I couldn't get one. Does this mean it can't be fixed?

Thanks,
shioru
Edited for silly typo
