Preferred Solution: I bought Lenovo DB65 USB portable DVD Burner, but its not working with my Lenovo Yoga 500.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Sorry fo language mistakes. Yesterday I buy Lenovo yoga 720 720-15ikb wth gtx 1050 model. I update everything (Windows 10 home update, lenovo drivers (lenovo vantage and additionally from pcsupport.lenovo.com)). When i try to draw with my "lenovo active pen 2" pen works unstable. Sometimes dont work, sometimes work and sometimes work even pen dont touch screen !!! (i can write in distance 10 mm  above the screen without touching it) Working or not depends on pen "location/angle" to the screen.   I don't know what causes this behavior .... bad battery, domaged nib, damaged screen, damaged pen, additional drivers are required. Has anyone encountered such a problem ? I need advice.

I've never been more infuriated by a piece of technology and the "service" I got from Lenovo regarding this purchase.I had a previous ThinkPad that suddenly crashed on me while on a plane flight out of town (a whole other costly ordeal). My laptop is critical to my work, so I immediately went to Best Buy and purchased the Yoga 730. It never worked right the moment it came out of the box. Screen display flickered constantly and it hung and crashed if I had more than two Excel files open at once. I should have immediately taken it back, but I was on vacation and thought I could just have Lenovo customer support fix the issues.Wrong.  I called tech support and they logged on and downloaded new software for the display which they said should fix the problem. It didn't. They told me I was going to have to ship it out to have it fixed. I couldn't be without a laptop as my laptop is critical to my work so I opted not do it, hoping the issue wouldn't get worse.  At this point I was outside the two week window for a return to Best Buy.  I was beyond angry at this point having to deal with these issues with a $1,000 piece of tech.  The only saving grace was that when  the laptop was connected to external monitors, the display worked.  However, it still hung and crashed Excel constantly. Then, the screen failed completely. I called Lenovo and asked them if they could overnight me a new laptop that actually works and I'd ship this pile of junk back to them, a... Read more

I've had my Lenovo Yoga 910 for a year and a half now and about a week or two after I got the laptop the standard usb 3.0 port (the type-A next to the headphone jack) stopped working properly. It still gives power to devices but cant transfer files, wether its my phone or any usb stick. It didnt really bother me because I had an adapter for the usb type-c. However, in about december last year the type-c port stopped working. I got it sent of, but for some reason it came back unfixed because they thought I had a problem with my trackpad instead of the ports and didnt have the time to get it sent back off. As I said, I dont really have the time to get it sent off for two weeks to be repaired and have gone thorugh every forum on the internet and none of the solutions work relating to the device manager, regedit and trying to find drivers online. I also can't find anythng spesific to this model so that also adds to my problem. Also, just a note that I have tried many diffrent devices through both ports and, I'm also sure that its a software issue not a hardware issue as the ports are clean and atleast the type-A charges my phone.  If anyone has any solutions please share because it has been driving me insane!

I recently downgraded from Windows 10 to a Windows 7 operating system. When I downgraded I needed to disable secure boot and disable OS Optimized settings in the BIOS in order to boot from the USB drive to install Windows 7. When I reinstalled Windows 7 I did a clean install, put in my Windows 7 Key and installed all the necessary drivers. However, it seems that my USB 3.0 ports are not working. On the flip side, when I plug in my phone or a thumb drive into the USB ports, these devices are recognized in the BIOS. Also, I looked in the device drivers and it seems that my USB drivers are installed. There is, however, an unknown device, which in the details tab reads:IUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F&REV_0021&SID_504C17AAIUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F&REV_0021IUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F Attempted solutions: I tried to reset all BIOS settings back to factory settings but when I did that my OS would not start until I turned secure boot and OS Optimized Settings back off. Also I tried looking for drivers on the website but  could not find any to do with the USB 3.0 ports. Looking forward to any advice anyone can provide in me fixing this issues.

USB 3.0 wasn't supported back then. Doesn't work with Win 7. You have to stick to the 2.0 ports. Return to the original installed OS or Windows 10 for it to work.

Hi,I have spent a lot of time looking for a laptop which could meet my requirements. A week ago I bought this laptop and I love it, BUT the screen is giving me painful eyes just after like 30 minutes. I tried during the day, in the evening, to simulate different lightning conditions, tried to update BIOS and all drivers, playing with brighness, color setup, ... the same result. My girlfriend initially said that it can be it's only my perception, but then she tried to use it and got eye pain after like 30 minutes. I'm a programmer and she is a graphic designer, so we are used to spend like 10 hours a day in average behind a laptop, but we never get such a pain, as from this one, after like 30 mins. I tried to check if the laptop has PWM flickering. I tried to record the screen with my phone, and compare it to my older work laptop (Lenovo T520), which I never get an eye pain or headache from. The recording revealed a lot of backlight flickering on my old work laptop (like when you display a page with Google results, there were a lot of horizontal lines moving vertically over white google background), but not really on my new one. When I look very detailed at the video from the new laptop, I can maybe see like a tiny flickering on the font displaying google results, but nothing in the background white). So why would this new laptop give us immediately such a headache? Resolution, size of the fonts are eqactly the same as the old laptop sitting next to it.... Anyone can... Read more

Hi everyone. I can see that people with other similar style Lenovo laptops (Yoga 900) complain about the same issue so was wondering if there is a solution or an optimized version of this software. I did an update of the BIOS and the Power Management driver and still a constant power usage.  Once the laptop is flipped the YMC detects it and turns off the keyboard functionality to prevent accidental presses and that is pretty much all until it flipped back and enabled. And all of this requires a constant high CPU usage? Any help would be highly appreciated. I also tried rolling back to older drivers without luck in decreasing this CPU hog usage. To put such load on a i5 6th gen CPU really implies an inferior service integration....

Hi Guys! Please go through my complete message as it is very 'painful' experience you can ever come across when buying a laptop. The Lenovo Yoga is not available in Australia. So, I bought the Lenovo Yoga 13" orange i5 128GB from 'adorama.com' for US $999 + UPS shipping $105. Unfortunately the shippment attracted a custom of 185 AUD which I had to pay later. In total, I have already spent 1400 AUD.The UPS courier service delivered the shipment to my address an hour back i.e. today on 5th July,2013. I was very happy to receive the product but when I switched on the laptop, the screen is not working properly and is displaying a number of vertical colored lines. To confirm that it is the screen problem, I connected the laptop to my TV with a HDMI cable upon which I could see the windows display on the TV. This clearly establishes the fact that the laptop's screen is faulty. Next, when I checked the warranty number online it shows that warranty starts from three months earlier than my purchase date which clearly shows that someone registered the laptop before. Also, the charger I received with the laptop looks to be a used one with scratches and marks on it. I am afraid, the product I got from Adorama is damaged and maybe a refurbished one as the charger clearly looks to be used before. I am deeply disappointed with this incident as I was very excited to use that product and also importantly had lots of work to do with it.I contacted Adorama, and they are s... Read more

Never before have I had such a pathetic problem except maybe with laptops that are 6 years old. For further details I have the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13-inch Convertible Ultrabook (Orange) - (Intel Core i7 3537U 2.0GHz Processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Integrated Graphics, Windows 8) bought from amazon.co.uk ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00CA10NUE ). The screen lasted 6 days before dying. Just enough time for me to waste getting it perfectly set up before it died. There was nothing to indicate prior to the screen failing that it was going to fail. Turned it off one night and turned it on the next morning and the screen was only displaying the vertical bars. I'm going to try sending the Laptop back to Lenovo. I actually managed to get through to the Lenovo support - they have quite a good system of dropping the laptop off in a local shop that is then picked up by Lenovo, they reckon to have a turn around of 10 calendar days. I can recommend trying to call the Belgium helpdesk as Lenovo can never outsource the help desk people since they need to speak French and Dutch but usually they will also speak English - start the conversation with "Parlez vous anglais?" / "Spreek je engels?" . Admittedly it will be no use if you need to return the item, but if you just need a bit of technical support it might be a good way to go.

onboard microphone not working. tried plugging in an external microphone to no avail. unit is newly bought. this is a very bad experience for me. first it was the micro hdmi, now this. it seems Lenovo produces defective products. i will never ever buy anything Lenovo again! researching the issues i'm having, i've read so many people have the same problem. both micro hdmi and microphone are defective. it's a hardware issue, hence a factory defect right out of the gate.

Hello all,  I just recently bought the Yoga 920 and as much as I love the computer, when I am writing with the active pen and am hovering over the screen it starts to write, and therefore counts all my letter and draw random lines everywhere. I have tried calibrating, turning down sensitivity, pulling out the pen tip and updating. Does anyone have any advice?

Hi,my fan stopped working completely. The CPU heats up to 94C while stress testing, but the fan is not working. This goes for some days now. Can this be a software issue or is something broken?

I bought a brand new Active Pen 2 from Lenovo but whenever I am using it it will only actually work randomly. If I am writing a sentence, only certain strokes will be picked up while some will not. Sometimes nothing at all will be picked up, sometimes (rarely) everything will be picked up. I have already tried calibrating the pen and changing the tip, but the problem remains. I also made sure I had the latest wacom driver through device manager. How do i fix this? Thanks.

Hi!  I bought a Lenovo yoga 730 laptop about a month ago.  Within the first couple of weeks I was having issues with the five and six keys not working.  I took it back to the store to have it checked out and they said it was a Windows 10 issue.  We reinstalled the driver and turned off some services and it worked fine for about 2 weeks, getting me past the return window, and now it's doing it again, along with a couple new keys as well.  It's super annoying and it looks like it is a common problem, but I can't find a solution that works long term.  Is there anything I can try?  The computer is barely a month old.  Thanks for the help!
