X230t F1 fuse value?

Q: X230t F1 fuse value?

Brief history: Vertical artifacts on LCD. Checked if cables are seated behind LCD but forgot battery in. Backlight no longer worked. I've opened up and tested all the fuses I could see for continuity. The only blown one I could find was F1. Does anyone know its value or typical LED backlight fuse ratings? I would rather replace it than short it. The board is an 04Y2040 i7-3520M Tested fuses and status: (?=no continuity)(?=fuse not found)(?=continuity)F1 ?F2 ?F3 ?F4 ?F5 ?F6 ?F7 ?F11 ?F12 ?F13 ?F14 ?F15 ?F16 ?F17 ?F18 ?F19 ?F20 ?F21 ?F22 ?F23 ?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Guys, please help me to identify which one is the fuse in my monitor! There is no display on my monitor screen and it's blank. Also, I noticed that the power LED on the monitor has no light. I know that my system is working because I can see my CPU fan running and it works well with other monitor. I guess that the fuse was blown. But, I just not sure which one is the fuse.....
I've taken a picture of my monitor circuit board and uploaded at this url. Please check it out!

http:[email protected]/4720367606/

I believe that the fuse could be the one located at A, B, C or D. Based on the shape, I guess that A is the monitor fuse, but it seems like there is no way to loose or remove it. Please show me which one is the fuse, and also let me know how to remove this stubborn thing. THANKS!!!!

A:HELP ME!!! where is the monitor fuse....

The part marked "A" is a fuse. It is soldered to the circuit board so you might want to test with a multimeter to see if it is blown before you have somebody replace it.

My motherboard will power on for 3 seconds and then blink orange lights... I took it apart and replaced a few capacitors but that did not work.

It is not the fan.. and I removed every component I could. It is basically just the motherboard and the two main chips..

The motherboard belongs to a toshiba x205-sli1

I think it might be the fuses... but does anyone know how to test them??

And if they test bad how do you replace them?

A:How to test a fuse...

Motherboard fuses can be replaced just as easily as a capacitor. The recommended way to test if the fuse is good or not, is to remove all solder from the board fuse location pins and then test resistance with the fuse out of the board's circuit . Just use a multimeter (ohmeter) and test for resistance across each side of the fuse. Most meter's have a little button that looks like a single volume button, press this and it should beep when you have no resistance, if you have no resistance on the fuse, it means your fuse is good (i.e. you get a beep). If you don't hear a beep and your resistance is like 10, 20, 100, 200+ ohms then you have a blown fuse. You will probably have to buy the replacement fuse online, but Radio Shack might have it.

The problem with troubleshooting a motherboard is that it can be quite complex. There is typically no good method to follow unless you are extremely electronic capable.

I would start by following the power through each supply/segment. I have seen problems like this in the past be related to power supply failures, not motherboards. Motherboards do fail, yes, but a more common issue would be a power issue in the board.

What I would do is test the power board power supplies, the problem is, the only way to do this is with the laptop power on. That is NOT RECOMMENDED, it is not really dangerous, since it's only 19VDC @ 60/70 Watts, but it is a good way to mess up your computer if you're not aware of what you're... Read more

When I switch the PC on , the 5 amp fuse in the plug blows! This does not happen always, but has occured 3 times so far in the last 4 weeks and is worrying. It happens only when the PC is turned on using the main switch at the back of the PC. If this switch is left in the "on" position all the time and the PC is turned on using the press-buttton in the front, the problem does not arise! Any ideas please?

In my custom built pc the fuse of the power supply keeps blowing and I would have to buy a new one but the same issue occurs with the new power supply. Does anyone have any possible solutions to this issue?

Pc specs
Processor - Amd FX 8350
Motherboard - Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 R2
Graphics card - Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050
16GB Ram DDR3
Power supply - EVGA 500W

Also my pc had never been overclocked

A:PSU Fuse keeps blowing

If your new power supply is doing that also then you have something shorted or not connected right on the motherboard. The motherboard might be shorting out on standoffs that are in the wrong place underneath it. I heard about one guy that screwed his motherboard directly to the case and wondered why it wouldn't work. Has your "custom built" been working? Did it just start blowing fuses?

Good day, I have a lenovo Z50-75, recently 1/3 or my screen turned pink, I removed the bezel from around the screen and removed the screen , took out the jack, and stared to clean it, I forgot to remove the battery and there was a spark. Plugged back in the jack and now the screen is dark, you can see when it starts up but very faint. The board is the ACLU7/ ACLU8.  Any help to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

A:lenovo Z50-75 backlight fuse

Hi trinibajan34,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Recommended for dim LCD backlight issue would be entire panel replacement as described from the hardware manual. It does not offer LCD panel disassembly to remove further as usually they are held with close adhesives and most likely affect other components to fail.
It would be safer and faster to replace the entire LCD panel but if you have other service centers that would claim to safely and accurately do it comparing the costing for the labor and parts then you can consider their service.
This article together with the hardware manual can help for the replacement steps and ordering parts.
How to Look Up and Purchase Accessories, Upgrades, and FRU/CRU Replacement Parts
I hope this helps answer your query.

I was working on my comp...and I left and by the time i came back my monitor was off. So i thought it just went on standby so i pressed any key and it made the sound indicating its gonna come on...but it never did...and some funny buzzing noises started to come. I shut off my monitor and turned it back on ...to see if my desktop would come...(it usually works) but this time it didnt. This happened before....back when i had the warranty they said that the fuse blew...and replaced it.

I want to know where I can purchase a fuse from and how much it'll cost me.

Hello all. I have read that it is possible to replace a fuse in a power supply. I love this power supply ( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000G7WZFA/themussou0551776-20 ), so I want to try to save it. I see a tiny fuse that appears to need soldered to replace. Do you think there is one there maybe hidden?

A:Power supply fuse

There is usually ony one fuse. You can replace it with one that has the same amperage rating (also note whether it is fast or slow blow). However, remember something made it blow in the first place. After replacing the fuse I would test it before re-installing in a PC.

Are my three copies of Win 7 RC going to last me until I have the official copies in my mitts (Oct 26?) or are they going to expire leaving me without OS's on the three machines my wife and I use every day?

If an early demise is coming, is there any way to get an extension to carry me through to the mid October date?

Thanks for any assistence,

Hi and yes you can extend the time limitation for up to 120 days by using the re-arm feature every 30 days (max 3x). pretty easy. At the end of the original 30 days you simply type slmgr.vbs -rearm. If you want to learn more there is a whole thread about it here http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...tml#post175510

I was testing a used hard drive in an auxiliary connection to my Pavilion p6670t.  My mistake was disconnecting it before powering down the computer. Pulling the drive's power connection, I got a spark and the computer shut down.  The computer won't turn on although a few LEDs still light up.  I am hoping I blew a fuse in the power supply.   I have not removed or opened the power supply, but there's no fuse apparent from the outside.  Of course there's one of those annoying stickers telling me I void the warranty if I open it--but I probably already voided the warranty by zapping something anyway.Any advice? Will I find a fuse in that metal box, or do I need a new power supplyThanks

I've been reading all the forums here daily trying to get a little educated.
A month and a half or so I had problems microsoft seemed to take care of.
I had a ton of desktop files notepad with all kinds of things in it all over in my puter. Everywhere from documents to pictures and everywhere else. We thought it was fixed. We redid my system and lost some stuff, changed firewall and anti virus and even went to DSL. First I've got Spybot S&D,ad-aware,spysweeper,microsoft anti spyware, and the little program in Trend PC-cillin. Like on another thread I also did a Pandasoftware scan last night. It said I had spyware "Mediatickets" but nothing else picks it up. I even looked through the registry for its taces and found nothing. Today ran it again it added ISTbar but nothing else finds it. I had a froend run panda and his also came up with "Mediatickets" also found in the registry.
Panda also scanned 276,000+ files in my puter. I know I shouldn't have that much since I use and have only the basics. How can I see what all is here I don'tknow about? I have ran scans daily or even more often.
Next step is 45 pistol target practice on this computer.

Hi, on hindsight I should have asked this question at this forum first. But I was tired from doing all the researching and bit on an old x230 convertible laptop off ebay that supposedly has core i7 3520M, 4gb of ram, and 160gb ssd. It has been upgraded to windows 10. It has not arrived yet. At around $200, it seemed to me like a steal for the specs. I do think that these specs were user-upgraded and not factory-made so I cannot speak for the quality.I read rave reviews about this device, however, most were from several years ago. I never owed a device with this specs or a touchscreen laptop for that matter so I do not really know what to expect.I guess I will start out to see if anyone still second this as a solid convertible laptop in today's standard. Does windows 10 run well on it? Seem like a lot of people run into problems when upgrading to windows 10? Is there anything special about the touchscreen or is it just obsolete technology nowadays? I mean the most resource intensive thing I will do on this laptop is just playing some online flash games so I think it is way less than what it is capable of. I was just looking for a laptop that is upgradable and can stay relevant for a long time so did I make the right call? Any feedbacks are appreciated!

I guess this is a very old thread, but I am having the same problem with my ThinkPad T520.
The battery is fine, but it will not power the laptop. I'm thinking it may be a pico fuse on the motherboard.
Turning the laptop off for a few minutes as suggested does not work. Taking the battery out and pushing the power button for 30 seconds does not work. Buying a new battery just because Lenovo says my old one is dead does not work for me.

Hello there,

This is the first time I have posted.
My PC power supply keeps blowing the fuse. it tends only to be when I am doing something that uses alot of memory, especially when trying to convert .avi files into .mpgs
The PS is 450w and I have an athlon 2400 processor and 192MB RAM
Do you think the power supply is inadequate as I have upgraded it recently and it doesn't blow the fuse as often now but it still does it when using alot of memory. I have tried it in different sockets and have the same probs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mitchy

Hello,I'm having the same issue I had in 2012 with my W520 laptop. Back then, it was still under warranty so I sent the laptop back for repair. This time I'm trying to fix the issue myself. I have no backlight, I can see a faint image at boot but when the graphic card take over the onboard graphics, the screen is all black. I tried to plug it to an external display and there's an image but Windows doesn't detect my main monitor. I thought it may be a driver issue so I tried to update my drivers but with no luck. When I tried to disable the graphic card (thinking it would revert to on board graphics) I lost all display.  Also, the keyboard stopped working at the same time I lost backlight (I had the same issue in 2012, screen backlight and keyboard failed at the same time) After dismanteling the laptop and testing fuses, I've found out that the fuse F24 has gone bad. I'd like to replace it and I think it's a 500mA, 32V fuse. I don't know where I can buy one. I saw a bunch on Digi-Key but there are so much to choose from.I know the part size , current and voltage rating but I don't know what melting I^2t I should go for.The part on the schematic I found online is FUSE-500MA32V-GP,  Thanks for your help

I just finished burning a DVD on my LG burner, and then started to burn the label with Lightscribe, but it couldn't find any LightScribe drives. I then noticed that the activity light on the LG kept blinking and then found that I couldn't open the drive, so I rebooted, thinking that would release it, but it didn't. I had to remove the DVD with a paperclip.

I then continued to reboot, but the drive detection seemed to freeze much longer than usual, and then Windows froze at the startup screen. I shutdown and disconnected the drive, which seemed to fix the problem, though boot time was still a bit longer than usual.

I then started to attempt to burn the label again, with my Samsung burner, but again the LightScribe labler said that it didn't see any LightScribe drives.

Even though the LG is the newest drive, the SamSung is not all that old itself, and I can't imagine why they both would decide to act up simutaneously. The Samsung is operational as far as reading disks (I didn't test it for burning), so would anyone have any idea of what the problem might be...besides gremlins?

A:LightScribe Drives Blew A Fuse

Have you tried disconnecting the Samsung and then rebooting to see if the boot is still slower than normal? Also try the LG drive again with the Samsung disconnected. I've seen cases where the drive that is suspected of being the problem isn't the one with the problem but another device is the problem.

I have built a couple of gaming PC's before and this is by far the weirdest problem I have had!

The system boots fine however when it reaches a certain stage of the Windows 8 install to the SSD it suddenly fails and cuts off and refuses to boot up for a while (fans do about one rotation and then power cuts out again when power button pressed).

Now I read around and found this is probably something shorting some piece of hardware in the system so it cuts off to save itself. Once or twice when I turned on the switch at the mains with the psu switched on the fuse for my desk sockets blew.

My question is how would I go about diagnosing and ultimatly fixing this issue as I am not able to do some pieces of work without my desktop. ?

My Hardware is:

-Asus AMD Radeon HD 7970
-Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600MHz (2x8gb)

i need some help please, for a while now when i press the switch at the wall socket the pc makes a kind of "popping electric noise" for a split second but i've just been ignoring it, so a few days ago i took the graphics card out of the motherboard to clean it of dust, i unscrewed the plastic cover and vacuumed the heatsink then re assembled it and put it back in the desktop, then i tried a video game and it restarted the computer...i tried a less graphically intensive video game and it was fine, but the next day it started to shutdown when windows was starting up and bluescreens of death. so i left the pc for a few days and today i turned it on and it shutdown immediately followed by a horrible electrical smell and it popped a fuse in the fuse box downstairs. The motherboard and cpu is about 6 years old, but the graphics card is only about 3 years and the PSU is a good one from corsair.

EDIT, there is no power going to the motherboard (no green light) and it wont turn on.

A:graphics issue and fuse trip out

Power supply. Anything internal would have toasted the power supply and/or it's internal fuse. If a circuit breaker tripped, there is a fault on the circuit. Assuming the fault is the PC, it's the PC power supply. If you are lucky, it didn't damage any other hardware when it failed. Most often, that is not the case.

You can download Win 10 direct from Microsoft.  I haven't looked at the MS tool lately and don't know if the download varies by version (Home, Pro, ...) but if it does pick the one that matches your key.

Faulty equipment being used by a contractor blew a fuse and my computer was shut down. Since then my pc shuts down with an
DPC Watchdog Violation error.  In the past when the power has gone out, it's has worked fine after a reboot.

*I have updated drivers.
*I have run a disk check/fix
* I have have turned off "Fast Startup"
None of these tasks have been successful.  I am not a tech person, so please be kind. Any suggestions?  (This computer is only a year old) I use am still using 8.1, beccause I find that Windows 10 slows down my system. Thanks.

I hate laptops with a passion but keep trying to fix 'em - lol - mostly successfully.

However . . . I recently made a foolish error, however, and could really do with some guidance as to remedying the situation.

I replaced a screen in a Toshiba Satellite A200-1RK, which although a little tricky (my first screen replacement) - went

without a hitch.

However, the laptop came with a charger whose business end had been squashed in a car door -

I checked it visually but to my regret NOT with a multi-meter. The charger has a short and has blown something on the

The symptoms are as follows:

1. Laptop worked fine post Charger Incident on battery until the battery became flat which leads me to believe mobo is

essentially fine.
2. Even with a known working charger, the Blue DC IN ie Plug symbol flashes blue
3. When charge was remaining in the battery, a so called hard reset - namely removal of battery pack and lead and holding the

power button for 30 seconds - would induce the DC IN light to remain solid blue and the battery light to be solid Orange
4. Now battery is flat the state of play is as 2. ie will not power from DC IN 19v

Hi All, Anyone know if there is a fuse that protects both the trackpoint and the trackpad on the T440 ?.  Bought second hand  and neither trackpoint or pad work.  Trackpad shows little wear so I suspect this has been a long term issue.  Booting into Linux there is nothing showing up in the mouse/touchpad settings except when I connect an external mouse, so neither device is being seen which makes me think it might be a fuse ?.  Both are enabled in BIOS and have tried disabling each separately. Also tried a diffferent keyboard, and also disconnected both the touchpad and trackpoint separately.  No life from either. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
