Photoshop 6 cursor disappears over image

Q: Photoshop 6 cursor disappears over image

I'm working on a Powerbook with OS x.3 Jaguar, classic mode 9.2.
When working in Photoshop 6 in classic mode, the cursor (tools), disappear over the image, but then reappears outside the image. However, the move tool and the cropping tool act normal.

I've trashed the Photoshop prefs, reset the tools, and re-installed the software. Is there something else I can try to solve this perplexing problem?

Thanks, Mindy

Preferred Solution: Photoshop 6 cursor disappears over image

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Photoshop 6 cursor disappears over image

is it just certain tools that you can't see? eg pen tool or paintbrush? Your paintbrush size might just be so small (eg 1 pixel) and your image so large that you just can't see it, unless you're zoomed in of course. Try upping the size of the tool if so.

I'm having a problem when loading Photoshop 7.0. I'm using Windows XP. The program seems to load correctly, up through fonts, then just disappears. I've tried reinstalling, deleting the preferences. This hasn't been happening with older versions of photoshop.

Any advice? I could sure use it. Thanks!

A:Photoshop 7.0 loads then disappears

Does it still appear in the task bar?

Wondering if you have a second video adapter enabled, and its running on the screen that you havent got. Not uncommon and gives similar symptoms. Its a long shot, admittedly!

If so, right click on the program in the taskbar and select Move. Then use right/left arrows to bring it into sight.

Hi, when I start up my computer or awaken it, I have problems with my cursor disappearing and the window that I'm working in goes to inactive (i.e., the dark blue banner at the top of the window goes to gray). This will happen every minute or so for about the first 20 minutes. I have noticed it when I use just about any app including MS Word, any browser and Outlook Express. I seem to get popups from nowhere when I initially reawaken my computer. I can be using Firefox but then suddenly IE pops up with an ad. I might get 5-6 pop-ups in the 10 minutes that I begin working and then they stop. But the cursor disappearing happens even when no pop-up occurs. You can hear the harddrive crank for a few seconds when the cursor disappears. When I click back into the window I was working in, the cursor returns and i can continue. However the cursor might disappear another 6-10 times over the course of the next 20 minutes. Eventually, the problem seems to stop after I've been working for 20- 30 minutes or more.I have run Spybot and AdAware (even in safe mode) but it has not cleared up the problem. I'm running Windows ME and would like to upgrade to XP but thought it would be wise to resolve this problem first. Hello hickoryworks and welcome to the BC malware forum. I don't see anything in the log that would indicate any infections or malware. There are only a couple of housecleaning items for missing files to take care of so let's do that.Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - ~CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair. In regards to the mouse, if it is a wireless mouse, check the batteries. If that does not resolve the problem or if it is not a wireless mouse then replace the mouse with a known good one and see if the problem persists. If so, then I would suggest posting a question in the hardware forum and see what they have to say.Cheers.OT

When I am typing an email, no matter what the program, earthlink, hotmail, etc. while typing the cursor disappears and the email window I am typing in appears to become inactive. If I click on the window again with the mouse, the cursor comes back. this only happens with email. What is going on?

A:E-mail cursor disappears

It probably happens because the e-mail box is not the active window. This happens whenever one clicks from one program to another, but most programs, when they become the active program pop to the top of the pile.

Somehow when you are doing e-mail you are probably accidently selecting something out side the e-mail box which makes the e-mail box inactive, but whatever program it is does not pop up in front of the e-mail box.

Just got in a new Pictek mechanical illuminated keyboard. I've noticed that while typing, say the word "discussion", I may get as far as the letter "c" and then notice that even though I've typed the entire word the computer has topped at "c". I then have to left-click my mouse to make the flashing cursor reappear in order to continue typing. As you have no doubt gathered by now I am not a touch typist so I watch the keyboard rather than the page while typing.

It's odd to note that this has not happened at this site while typing but does happen all the time when typing an email, for example.

Any thoughts?

At boot up, the "Toshiba" screen comes up and requests selection of F2 or F12. Pressed f2. Screen changes to blank screen with flashing cursor. Cursor flashes twice.....then nothing. Learned that I must click f2 twice in order for boot manager screen to appear. Have clicked on Windows7 selection, the screen remains blank for several minutes while the disk slowly flashes (indicating it is loading). Error Recovery screen says "Windows failed to start"........then screen says "Window has encountered a prolem communication with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive oc CD-ROM drive that is failing. (There was a wireless mouse and the modem cable connected at the time of the incident.....but nothing is plugged into the laptop now). Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer. If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer. I have had a U500v Asus touchscreen for a little over a month now. I haven't used it very much so I am still getting used to Windows 8, but have had no problems till today: I just woke my laptop from hibernation, and the mouse cursor was visible until I entered my password to login. It then disappears.

I have tried rebooting and fully powering off many times, and in both scenarios my mouse cursor is visible and useable to select the box to type in my password, and then it disappears after I hit or click enter to login. It's not just invisible, as I have tried clicking on things when I have positioned my cursor (while still visible) and then tried to select things when it disappears, so the cursor is just completely not there anymore.

I have tried updating drivers on the touchpad, but Windows tells me I have the best drivers already.

I have tried fn+f9 out of desperation, too, to no avail.

Can anyone suggest any other alternatives that might retrieve my mouse cursor?

Many thanks

A:Mouse cursor disappears on Asus laptop after logging in

I'm assuming that this is happening with the use of the touchpad, not with using a mouse.

Install the latest touchpad driver from Asus's web site. If Asus does not offer it then install the latest driver from the touchpad manufacturer's site. Then, if necessary, check the touchpad settings to see if there is some option doing that nasty deed.

I'm running XP pro as a VM using parralels 5.0 with the host being a mac. I have a dual monitor setup. When I'm using monitor 1 and start typing the cursor disappears. When I go to move the mouse the cursor is at the top of the screen in the middle of the two monitors, or the overall middle. It only pertains to monitor designated as 1. If that monitor is on the left the cursor moves to the upper right corner of monitor 1. If that monitor is on the right it moves to the upper left corner of monitor 1. I haven't had this happen on the second monitor.

I've had this happen in Word and in MS dialog windows, IE. changing a file name, saving a filename, etc. I did happen in dreamweaver cs4 when renaming a file by clicking on it. It doesn't happen in browsers or Excel.

I don't have hide cursor when typing checked in my mouse settings. Almost all the posts I've read are people using laptops and their problem is them accidentally using the touch pad. I don't really care that the mouse disappears, but it relocating is a big pain.

I'm starting on the windows side. It could very well be related to parallels though.

Dell Optiplex 755

When I click the start menu, it disappears after about a quarter second. Also, when typing, the typed text will highlight after a few keystrokes, making it very difficult to type anything.

I assumed it was a virus at first so I scanned with these programs:
MBAM - 0
TDSSKiller - 0
Hitman Pro - 0
HijackThis - 0

found nothing, so i tested memory and HDD - both OK

Then I did a repair installation and still have the problem. Please help.

I run windows 7 64bit on my core i3 Lenovo. I have both IE11 and Chrome installed.

About a week ago IE11 suddenly slowed down dramatically. At that stage I upgraded my Bitdefender Internet Security from 2013 to 2014 in an effort to resolve the problem, but without success.

I have tried a system restore, and defragged the hard disk. I also have CCleaner installed, and have run that.

What happens, is that IE11 takes ages to load, and then I get message along the bottom saying that the web page has had to be reloaded. After that I will often get a message saying that the page is being reloaded because of a long running script?? with the option to cancel the script.

Once the browser has loaded, it is almost impossible to use as the cursor keeps disappearing from the place where I am trying to insert text, and I have to push the left mouse key to get it back. One or two letters later it has gone again.

I am obviously doing this query in chrome, as I could never have completed the typing in IE

Any ideas??

Lately my pointer is disappearing after i login from sleep or locked computer.

I had this problem in the past but it got solved after i restored my PC, now it came back to haunt me.
I am guessing some updates disrupted with the mouse cursor (not an expert opinion).

I've tried many things but the issue seems to be persistent.

Here are some things I've tried with no results:

Changing the pointer options (hide while you type, pointer trails, ctrl to highlight) and combinations of them.

I tried using different pointers (Black, White, Black small, etc)

Also tried using troubleshooting the software changes, sfc /scannow, clean registry with ccleaner, rebooting (many times).

It seems to be a problem with no concrete solution.

The only solution that I found is (Clt-Alt-Del) it changes the screen and the pointer appears again, if I lock the computer it is gone once more.

If somebody can help i would appreciate it.

As the title states, my mouse cursor disappears when I'm running something on fullscreen, but works as normal on windowed fullscreen and such. It started happening a while ago but I haven't booted something on fullscreen for some time, so I can't exactly pinpoint when (but it's around 1~2 months ago).

I've been trying to troubleshoot this issue for a while now, but nothing yet has worked for me. I've tried changing mouse control panel options (pointer trail that wasn't enabled at all in the first place; change mouse pointers, disable shadows, etc etc), screen DPI to all available and custom sizes and even tinker with application settings. None of it has worked thus far.

Does anyone else have any idea what might be the source of this issue?

Thank you so much in advance!
