My touchscreen suddenly stopped functioning. No known update recently - have been running Windows 10 for months now with no problem. When I went into my device manager, I noticed that the "HID-compliant touchscreen" under the Human Interface Devices dropdown is hidden. When I find it by showing hidden devices, there are no drivers there for it (the box just says that "no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device"), so something must have removed it. Any idea how to get those drivers back so that my touchscreen will function again? It's like my PC doesn't recognize that my display should be touchscreen capable. I don't even have a calibrate

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

OK - I just tried to run the troubleshooter and it found an USB Root problem that I applied the fix for and it seemed to have fixed my issue. I'll report back if the issue arises again!Read other 1 answers

Hello, I bought an Edge 2 1580 last month. All of a sudden the items in the subject stopped working and the fan runs full blast. I think it happened at the same time as a windows 10 update so I tried a roll back but that didn't fix anything. Any chance this is fixable? I see many threads about the keyboard and touchpad going out on other models.
I just had the same problem with my Flex 3 1580. It is at Lenovo being repaired as of yesterday. My computer was fine and the next day booted up and fan runs full speed , touchpad didn't work, wifi didnt work, and the keyboard would only output "6" no matter what key i pressed (only 4 keys produced other output such as "s" or "w"). I got my Lenovo Edge 15 back earlier this year from service (hard drive fixed) but when it was returned to me the touch screen no longer worked. There is no touch screen driver visible on the device manager either, nothing labled touch screen or anything similair, is there a way to re-isntall the touchscreen? This laptop was a 2 in one, tablet/laptop and used to be touch screen compatible / usable now it doesn't seem to work that way at all.

i have been using nice nice device now since a few weeks and starting to get troubles with it.
I have the problem that randomly the touchscreen get without any function, i can touch the screen
however i want but without any reaction.
It just starts without starting any applications or anything before, i just browsing in the web and from one second to another.
If i restart the PC, everything is working normal again, i still using the drivers that were pre-installed and did not any changes to the Drivers so far.
Any suggestions what could cause this issue ?
In my opinion an process which controls the touchscreen hangs or does not response anymore and therefore you cannot get the touchscreen function to work.
Would recommend to reinstall the +Toshiba System Driver+ from Toshiba EU driver page.
If this does not help try the system recovery and test the unit with factory settings.
Using Windows 10 version 1511 and all updates. Used the Lenovo System Update and everything has been updated. I wanted to turn on the built-in camera on my Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 530, the F5 key, and it came up with a message saying, "This key combination opens the Lenovo Settings Program. You do not have the Lenovo Settings Program installed on your computer. To launch the program using this key combination, install the program first." I went and downloaded the Thinkpad Settings Dependency for Windows 10, restarted the laptop and it still doesn't work. Even the Lenovo System Update program has it and I also downloaded it. I restarted the laptop again and it still doesn't work. I then went to install the Lenovo Settings App on the Windows store and it doesn't look like the right one plus it still didn't work. My other problem is with the Lenovo Companion App from the Windows Store. It worked before but now it ask to "Please install or update the Lenovo System Interface Driver for full functionality of Companion, then restart the app after installation." I have installed the Lenovo System Interface Driver multiple times and it still popped up that message. Yes, I have restarted the laptop and Companion. Is there a reason why these issues are happening and how to fix it? Thank you in advance.

About a year ago the touchscreen on my TouchSmart All-in-One just stopped working. I have been trying to figure out what has caused this and how to fix it, but none of the go-to troubleshooting fixes have worked. My computer starts up and behaves as if it does not have a touchscreen. All the drivers (which I have rolled back and updated multiple times) are fully operational and windows cannot find anything wrong with any devices or drivers. My entire computer for the past year has behaved as it would if it didn't have a touchsceen at all, but I know I have a touchscreen. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I don't know when the touchscreen would normally be detected when booting up, but it seems like this is where the problem is. I'm sorry I can't provide any more information, but that's all I got! Hello, I have a Thinkpad e550 that I bought last year. Yesterday while typing my term paper I realized that some of the keys(s,k,d) were not working. Then i realized that the entire function keys row wasn't working either. Upon closer investigation I realized that this was because of the fn key always being depressed(not physically). So I went to the BIOS and swapped the control and the fn key. After a reboot I found that all my keys are working, but the fn key(which is now mapped to the ctrl key) isn't. Is there any fix to this? It seems weird that the function key is always depressed when mapped to fn but doesn't work at all when mapped to ctrl. It's been only a week since my warranty expired and I'm hoping to avoid replacing the hardware. ThanksRead other answers
A few days ago I noticed in the task managers App History tab that Edge had logged 925 MB in the past month, more than all other applications combined. When I went to Edge settings, I tried to delete saved history etc.. I turns out I wound up deleting saved log-ins and passwords in Windows/Internet Explorer. I did not realize that they are interconnected, is there any to recover them?

As for a do-it-yourself replacement. Starting on page #50 of your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual outlines the replacement procedure for the LCD screen. The link below is for your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual. When working inside your system please follow all precautions and recommendations that are noted in the manual.
Here is a YouTube video of a screen repair on a U410. It will give you an idea of what is all involved in doing the repair.
As for parts, eBay can be a good source for new or used parts. There are also sellers that offer new screens with warranty, but you would have to check to see if they will ship to you. Here is one such company that is frequently recommended........

Hi all, I have bought 2 weeks ago an Lenovo Yoga 2 13, and I?m very happy with it. But i have one annoying problem with it.The touchscreen is not working correct. If I start the computer up, the first 5 minutes it works fine, but after that the touchscreen is not responding correct, the pointer is going everywhere and zig zag. You can't use it anymore then. I've had this computer for a couple months now and recently, my touchscreen has been on and off--sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't-- and I have no idea why. Please run the Hardware and devices trouble-shooter:
Try the followings steps: ? Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter. ? Click ?Hardware and Sound? ? Select "Hardware and Devices" ? Click next to run the trouble-shooter.
Also, Install all the patches and available updates from Windows updates.
Try the followings steps: Click "Search" and type "Windows update settings" without quotes and hit enter. Under Updates click on check for updates.

Hi All, So I've had this aesthetically pleasing yoga 3 pro for about a month with the purpose for it to be used as a Uni Laptop. However I've come across a few issues that I am hoping I can get some help with. Firstly, I've lost all ability to use the touchscreen. Windows Device Managers is seeing it, but I have no way to enable/disable or test. Is there something I am missing? Secodly, through basic use I am finding the CPU and RAM usage well in excess of 80% for a lot of the time, with the system coming to a near grinding halt if I have approximately a dozen chrome tabs open, a couple of office docs and youtube or spotify running....this is a little worrying. Specification wise the laptop should be able to run the with very little hassle. Any help will be greatly appreciated.Read other answers
Installed Windows 10 on it, and it didn't fix it, reset to Windows 8, no fix, upgraded to 8.1 and still no fix, all updates and drivers installed, tried the device manager thing, yet still no touchscreen response. I've had my ideapad (flex 15 20309) for about 2 years and was working fine. Around 5 months ago I noticed my touchscreen wouldn't work any more. Sometimes after a reboot it would seem to come back to life but now I can't figure out what is going on. I seem to have Microsoft Windows 10 home as the operating system. I can't find any setting or keystroke or anything that can get my touchscreen back to life. Help! Hi Everyone! I just go my hands on a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12 touchscreen laptop with an included digitizer.I am experiencing a weird thing with the touchsreen. (It is the full HD version with the digitizer and 10 point touch capabilities)Basically the bottom part (like 5cm from the bottom) of the touchscreen is not responsive until I touch the middle or upper part of the screen. Hi everyone, The touchscreen of my idepad flex 14 stopped to work suddenly. I have upgraded to Windows 10 recently and didn't have any problem but now the defect came up. I have checked the device manager and the HID compliant touch screen driver is there (Version from 2006) and seems to be ok. I have tried to upgrade the driver but Windows says that is the latest version. Is there a driver from Lenovo for the touchscreen device? I really would appreciate any help. Upgrade checker can help provide information for recommended upgrades but OEM system have its own whitelist as controlled by the BIOS. Therefore , it would always suggest to check it first with the manufacturer .

Hi, since a few weeks i had an issue with my Flex 140D Notebook - the touchscreen doesn't work. What i've done was to uninstall the 3 USB-Devices below the HID-Section and the Touchscreen itself and rebooted the System. The touchscreen on my ideapad flex 14 laptop is not working. I've tried uninstalling the driver in device manager and then restarting my computer. I've also checked that all drivers are up to date. I'm on wondows 10 and I think it has worked since the upgrade (though I'm not 100% sure). Any ideas?

- Select Device Manager.
- Find the Touchscreen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111). You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device". Don't worry, it won't blow up your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Re-open the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices.

Lenovo has confirmed the existence of its mystery netbook by posting teaser images on its photo feed. The system is now called the Pocket Yoga and has both the ultra-wide, VAIO P-like display and leather-bound shell of leaked photos.
The product Lenovo edge 15, I purchased and just opening and closing it from laptop mode to tablet mode broke the surface part of the hinges. After that happened shortly after within a week or so, the whole computer stopped working. It will not turn on period, even with charge. Even though I barely used it. I went to basic training, came back and the warranty had expired for anything. I was going to college and paid my last few money I had to buy that computer only for it stop working, now I'm still a college student having to go to library just for use of a computer. I'm thoroughly upset at my situation and at the durability & design of the product. I would love to have a new one or to trade it in for my money back.Read other answers
Hey there, I recenently got one of the Lenovo Notebooks of the Yogaseries, which exactly it is, is stated in the title. However, since yesterday I never had any problems with it, I really like it, the convertible function etc., but it seems, that my display registeres touches Im not applying, it touches like everywhere over my screen and I dont even have my hands on the computer. When I restart it or install the touchpad driver from the supportsection for my notebook, it is okay for like 10 mins and then it goes all over again. I found an interesting solution for a similar problem, its in this thread: https://support.lenovo.com/de/de/documents/SF15-I0024 I have literally the same issue, problem is, the fix which is downloadable there, seems to only work for panels from LG, I figured out the hardware ID from my IPS panel, but I cant figure out where its factured or where I can get a fix for this issue. My Lenovo Edge 15 Battery still has 90,7% of it's cycles but it won't turn on without the charger and I think it is not chargging, from what I've read so far I believe it could be a blown up fuse, but before I try to fix that I wanna know if it could still be some software problem. Info> Battery Icon(onwin10) "87% available (plugged in, charging)" but it won't go up or down from 87% If I unplug the charger the laptop shuts down Battery indicater light> When turned off and just plugged in it blinks twice in orage and then it keeps blinking in white When turned on it stays lit white (wich happens when battery is at 100%) When I tried to update the bios it gave me a error saying that it could not proced with less then 30% battery but I removed that variable I was able to update the bios, but nothing change. When I turned my Edge 15 (80H1) off the other day, it was working fine. I went to turn it back on the next day, and all I got was the power light blinking slowly (approx. 1 second intervals). When it is plugged in the light that usually indicates it's plugged in isn't on any more. I can't get th power light to stop blinking when it's not plugged in. The only way to get it to stop blinking is if I plug it in (still blinking) and then remove the power cord (then it stops), but of course won't power up. Not sure if this is a MS issue. Default zoom setting for Edge is 125% but Outlook email is suddenly really tiny in size despite Edge showing 125%. The right hand 30% of the screen is now just empty white space. If I change it to 100% and back to 125% then it corrects until I close and reopen Edge. No other tabs are affected.

Hello, My Lenovo Edge 2 laptop goes to a dark blue/black screen with no warning. There is nothing I can do then except for press the on/off button for several seconds to make the screen go black completely and shut off. Then I restart by pushing the on/off button. I couldnt find the answer to this on the fourm yet, I recently bought a Edge 15 laptop and want to reformat it. But it came with Windows 10 and no Windows Product Key on the bottom like all laptops used to have.
How would I reformat and activate windows? Where do I find my product key?

I am presently researching to purchase a laptop for my wife at Christmas who is a teacher thus she will need to access the internet, do Office work, grading, emails, research, etc., but no gaming at all.
Will be running 7 64 OS, with 4 gigs of RAM, and hopefully a 7200 rpm hd. Leaning towards the i5 processor.
The Thinkpad Edge is part of Lenovo's excellent T Series but somewhat less expensive. Looking at current configurations it seems it will deliver what I am looking for but I know nothing of the quality build.
Would love to hear back from people who have used this series and/or from ITs who repair laptops for their insights.

I have a Lenovo edge 2 with windows 10. The problem: Randomly my screen goes black with the LED light still on. Sound goes off as well and mouse does not appear. Seems like its crashing. Happens about 2-3 times in a span of 4-5 hours. When I check my system event log, around the time of the crash I have 1 error and 1 warning 1 second apart as follows: ERROR: A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the FontCache188.8.131.52 service to connect. WARNING: The speed of processor 3 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report. I also get a "could not reconnect to all network drivers" message at start-up which may or may not be related. Could this be malware?? Anyone know how to fix it? Thank you.Read other answers
I have a lenovo edge 2 1580 and it worked perfectly fine last night. Today I pushed the power button and nothing happened. The little white LED next to the power button is lit but the screen will not turn on and neither will the fans. I have tried unplugging the battery and RAM and holding the power button but that didn't work. I also tried putting a paper clip in the little hole next to the power button but that didn't work either. Has anyone else come across this issue? I have searched the forums and tried everything I could find but nothing seems to work. The laptop is still under warranty but if I send it in, I was told it will take 2-4 weeks before I will get it back and I have important work information that I need to get from there and it can't wait that long. Based from the parts look up for Notebook LN Edge 2-1580 I5 8G 1TB 10H Machine Type - Model 80QF0005US CPU is non upgradable as it is connected part of the systemboard.
Current Intel® Core? i5-6200U Processor socket is BGA (Ball Grid Array) attached to the board.
Upgrade may include the entire board (page45) itself.
