HTML Code displays in Internet Explorer

Q: HTML Code displays in Internet Explorer

HTML code displays when visiting the website in Internet Explorer. Can't figure out what is wrong.

Preferred Solution: HTML Code displays in Internet Explorer

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: HTML Code displays in Internet Explorer

Hi HTMLNewbie, and welcome to TSG.

Are you talking about a web site for which are managing and creating content (TSG has a separate Web Development forum)? It would help to give us the URL for it.

Are you saying that Internet Explorer is showing HTML code for any web site you visit (TSG has a separate Web & E-mail forum). The exact version of IE and Windows might help for starters.

I have ie 8 on a dell laptop vista bus. I have and aspx page on a password protected folder of my server (windows 2003) that asks for an id number, looks up the student in a database, retrieves his data and displays it and then asks you for an email address to send the certificate to. This page works fine.

It then redirects to page 2 which has vb code that sets variables from the previous form and looks up a county name from a database. The code then creates a JPEG image from an existing graphics background and puts the textual data in the graphics image and saves to disk. The code then creates a mailer object, mailer = Server.CreateObject("SMTPsvg.Mailer"), and attaches the jpg image and sends the mail. THIS WORKS FINE. Next the jpg image is deleted and the asp:textboxes are updated to reflect the status and a continue button is made visible.

The problem is that IE 8, while performing the code with out error then displays the HTML code and not the webpage. The HTML code follows:
<%@ Page Language="vb" Aspcompat="True" AutoEventWireup="false" Codebehind="email1aNew.aspx.vb" Inherits="CertsDelivery.email1aNew" codePage="65001"%>

My 8600 software was working fine on networked computers running XP and Vista.  A new laptop running Windows 8 Pro also initially ran the printer.  I decided to install the Windows 8 update to get all the HP software and this did not work. Near the end of installation two files were displayed in notepad which I assume needed to run and complete the installation.  They are "HPSolutionsPortal" and HPSPPortal". In surveying the database I see problems with another model printer which point to an association problem with filetype .hta which is used by these two files. My Windows 8 Pro system associates filetype .hta with notepad.  I attempted to change this to the "Microsoft (R) Application Host" but could not find it.  I do have several msta.exe files available but am wary to change it. Anyone familiar with this problem?

I again removed the hp software.  Reexecuted SCLitefix, Verified that the filetype had been changed, and reinstalled the hp software.  It worked fine.  All software is working. Case closed.  I now need to determine why the association was reset.

I am having a problem with Internet Explorer displaying the wrong pages. Sometimes, like 5 percent of the links I click on will take me to the wrong page. The strange thing is that when this happens it ALWAYS takes me to a page that I have previously visited instead of the page I was trying to reach. For example when I click on a link to ebay it will take me to google instead. Strangest of all, the address of the page that I was TRYING to get to will be in the address bar rather than the address of the page that is actually displayed.

I have deleted all cookies and temporary internet files. I have also ran Ad-aware 6 as well as Spybot both with the latest reference files. I have also purged my cache, cookie and history folders with PurgeIE. I use PC-Cillin 2000 with the latest pattern files. I have also ran Stinger. I am running XP home with IE 6.

I have a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit machine with Internet Explorer 11. When I try to open up a particular web page, it doesn't display the page, and just appends a '#' character to the end of the web address. I tried downgrading to IE10, Resetting IE settings, disabling add-ons, adjusting security settings, uninstalling IE completely (Turned off Windows feature via Control Panel) then reinstalling, all to no avail.

I'm really at my wits end here, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why we don't ask you to run ComboFix from the onset

As stated by the author of ComboFix:

We first need to verify if there's any rootkits present and how they could affect our tools. DDS & GMER are preliminary scans. We use their logs to map our strategy for attack.

With these logs we can determine the infections present & decide whether to deploy ComboFix

A new window opened in Internet Explorer displays a blank white page.

I tried all these fixes:
- windows updates (Win 7sp1 and IE9.0.9)
A new window opened in Internet Explorer displays a blank white page
- Microsoft Fix it 50191
- re-register the DLL
Nothing happens when you click a link in Internet Explorer
- Check your default web browser setting
- Change the file types that Internet Explorer opens by default
- Use the Internet Explorer No Add-ons mode
- Reset Internet Explorer settings
- Reregister the necessary Internet Explorer DLL files
- Use System Restore

The problem remains unsolved.

Everything else runs fast and perfectly on my computer, included Mozilla Firefox. However I don't like when something doesn't run very well. Someone has an idea?

A:Internet Explorer displays a blank white page

You can follow the below mentioned steps in order which could fix the issue:

Change the compatibility mode IE. To turn Compatibility View on, click the Compatibility View button to make the icon change from an outline to a solid color. This option will be seen on the address bar.

Turn off hardware acceleration by going to Internet options. You can even refer to the article on the URL mentioned: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2528233

Reinstall the Adobe flash player and latest JAVA.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling IE, Use the following FIXIT for uninstalling the same http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9787447
Then proceed with downloading an updated version of IE from the URL mentioned: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/internet-explorer/products/ie/home

If the above troubleshooting steps fail, try creating a New User Account to check if the problem persists.

Sorry about the vague title, but I really don't know what it is called.

The top bar, the one that has an icon then followed by the title of the web page (above the bar with file, edit, etc.) only displays the icon, then a single letter.

For example, if it was this page, then it would only be T, and if it is google, it would only be G.

Once again, I'm sorry for the vague title, and I'm also sorry if I posted inthe wrong forum. Any help is appreciated, though this is not a serious problem, I find it's a little harder to manage when I am browsing the internet or doing research.

Thanks in advance

I am trying to create a 2-column html table. I want to put a large image in a cell within the second column of the table, and "wrap" the image in <div> tags so I can limit the display width, and have scroll bars so the user can scroll the image to view the entire thing.

The sizing of the <div> works correctly but, the table is always the width of the ENTIRE image...nothing I do seems to limit the width of the table. So, even though the <div> is the correct width, and has the scroll bars, the table is the width of the underlying image.

I will include some sample text to demonstrate the problem. Just choose a large image that you might have on your machine, and insert it's path into the <img> tag. The example image I am using is 1600X1200.

PS: in this example I am using "min-width" and "max-width", but the problem is the same if I simply use "width".

This code works properly in Firefox. Is there anything I can do to get the desired behavior in IE or, are table widths determined by the contents of the table in IE, regardless of the properties that are defined?

Thanks, in advance, for any advice you can give.

A:html tables in Internet Explorer [Moved to design]

My web programming skills aren't really good enough to help you but i have a few suggestions.

Don't use tables and position everything using css
Its actually very easy to learn i used a tutorial at the website html-dog (google for it) which was very helpful.
Tables should only really be used for tabular data and are not a way to lay out websites.

I think it will look awful if you have to scroll to see the rest of the picture in the way that you describe, if you have to put it in a table why not put a thumbnail in which when clicked links to the full size version of the picture?

Internet Explorer (listed as Q831167 under "Add/Remove Programs") will not run. [I'm using Mozilla & Netscape without a problem.]

And I can't read any Outlook emails in html.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled as many Microsoft products as possible - Office, Internet Explorer - to no avail.

I have Norton Internet Security 2004, loaded yesterday - but I can't use it properly, I suppose b/c of the html issue. And help menus for any program are unreadable.

I've run Spybot 1.3 and Adaware, both with newest updates.
I have the newest anti-virus definitions for Norton loaded - but can't use Norton, so not sure if it helps any. I've eliminated most of the start-up files to clear up any potential issues.

Not sure what to do - and I've spent HOURS!!!!!!

I would appreciate any advice!!

This isn't Internet Explorer. It's only a patch. If this is what you uninstalled, you didn't uninstall IE. You only removed a patch. In any case, you can't really uninstall IE. You can roll back to a previous version (except on XP), but you can't remove it completely unless you use some sort of non-MS third-party utility.

I have a simple HTML page with a textarea field on it. When I paste data (spaces + hyphens) of length around 10000 chars to this textarea field, the browser hangs for few minutes.

This issue is not seen for other normal data, only specific to above combination (around 5000 blank spaces followed by around 5000 hyphen/minus symbol)

For above action, I analysed through developer tool profiler and observed that the maximum time being take by browser is to render content/layout of textarea. I believe some re-flow/repaint is happening in this particular case.

Is this a known issue with IE11? Please advice!
(I had posted this query on Microsoft communities and they re-directed me to TechNet forum. Hope I will get answer to my query)

Excuses me for having to ask you guys here for help as i have run out of option with the errors that I am now getting on my Windows 8 PC.
Being a noob at this, I have sort of run out of options and now i believe it best for me to ask this forum for help.
About 2 months ago I noticed 2 issues with my systems that is now becoming very annoying to me.
Firstly with my Internet Explore I am getting missing images with the error ?Internet Explorer can not display the page being the first. ( Also Google Chrome is missing the images as well to some web site, with regards to adds mainly )
I have tried a few options that where suggested on the internet that I have been researching but nothing has helped.
The second error I am getting is with the updates. Updates are failing to install.
I get the error Code 8024200D Windows say it ran into aproblem. I can?t seem to proceed any further!
Just wondering, as this has just recently happened.
Are these 2 issues related?
My PC is a HP Compaq 8000 Elite series and it original comewith Windows 7 already installed.
I have paid for an upgrade to Windows 8 more than a year agoand I have never had any issue what?s so ever until now. Is this a simple fix, or is it a sign to something more serious.
Any suggestions here I would greatly appreciate the help.

I have the same problem as this guy...

However, my files that are not working are .asp files. I open the asp file, with internet explorer, and it only displays the code, then upon refresh, it executes the code. I have tried to do the same thing this guy did to fix the problem (I deleted the asp entry in folder options), but it did not work.

Can someone please help me???

Pages I view on the web display properly. However, if I want to preview a copy of an html, shtml, etc., file from my hard drive, I double click the file name (or press F12 in DreamWeaver) and instead of rendering the web page, IE displays the code. However, it is not displaying the code in Notepad where it would be editable. It is simply displaying the code in a browser window. When I click the Refresh button, it renders the web page correctly.

I have uninstalled DreamWeaver (and cleaned up), thinking it was related to that program. But IE still responds the same way.

I have gone into Control Panel, Folders, File Types and insured that all html & related files are to open with IE (rather than Notepad).

I have been searching the net all day for help/solution. I'm hoping someone here can help me.

As a last note, I am working on a "managed" laptop which my IT people have "locked down" so that not all settings w/in IE Options are available to me. As a further note, IE worked properly one day, the next day it did not. The only thing I had done on the laptop between those times was customize some settings within DreamWeaver (which is why I believed the problem to be DW related.)

I truly appreciate any help I might receive here! Thanks.

A:IE 6 displays code instead of web page...

A little off topic but: To edit an HTML etc file you right-click and choose edit. Otherwise it'll (or it should) open in your web browser.

And (this might be dumb) is the code correct?

Right, I hope I can get my problem across clearly as i've tried following many threads in different forums and at the moment i've had no luck...

I'm posting the thread due to the error code 9C48 which I get trying to update IE11 through windows. The first thing that came to mind is uninstalling IE.

1. I've looked under the View installed updates for 'Windows Internet Explorer' and couldn't find it.
2. I've tried uninstalling via command prompt and was unsuccessful (followed this step off a different thread).

Can someone help me with this?? I should mention i'm completely new to this so I need some good help

I use a packard bell easynote TJ65 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Everytime I try downloading IE 11 though Windows Update or the website, code 9C59 keeps popping up. Help please!

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data
If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

please also upload the file C:\Windows\IE11_Main.log

A:Error code 9C59 when trying te install Internet Explorer 10

The CheckSUR file 'errors' are perfectly normal for a Windows 7 IE10 install.
The differences in the file size are simply due to the fact that the nl-nl installer doesn't contain all the possible language variant, while the larger one does.

What interesting is that you are still attempting to install IE at all, since it appears to be already installed.

Please run SFC /SCANNOW, and post the resulting CBS.log file.

Hey Guys,

I tried updating IE 11 and got this Error: Code 9C47.
I then downloaded and ran SURT and it didn't give me any error other than installing an update.
I ran sfc /scannow and it found no integrity violations.
My cbs log ,sfc /scannow and Error are attached to this post.

Pls help me to install IE 11.

P.S i might have used few registry cleaners to clean registry.

TY in advance.

A:Error Code 9C57 during Internet Explorer 11 updation from IE 9

Registry Cleaners are DEATH.
The most likely fix is going to be a repair install, since you appear to have multiple problems...
CheckSUR shows...

CSI Catalog Expired Total count: 6
CBS Catalog Expired Total count: 8
SFC shows clear, but there are background errors in the CBS data, relating to the errors that CheckSUR found.
