Preferred Solution: .NET Framework 3.5 failed to install on my Windows 8 Pro machine.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Failed to install .NET Framework 4.5.2 Japanese language pack on English version of Windows 8.1.

I changed UI language to Japanese from English in Control panel on Win8.1. Then, I installed .NET Framework Japanese language pack.
However, the installer stopped installation and shows messages like an "Unsupported environment".
Is there any way to install Japanese language pack?

Good day all, Have not logged in here in some time. Since I have been able to get answers here for other problems, thought I would give it a try here. Apologies for the long post.  I want to give you as much detail as possible. On 8.16.2014 I did a fresh install of Windows 8 on my PC.  I bought a new motherboard, CPU & memory and since I like to do a fresh install of everything on occasion, I thought I would do it then.  Installation was a breeze and I was up and running in a very short time. Installation of most of the programs I use went off without an issue either until I came to The Sims 3 (one of the few games I like to play).  I was able to install the base game even though I got a message from Windows Features: An app on your PC needs the following Windows feature: .NET framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 & 3.0)The two options are to Downloand and install this feature or Skip this installation.  So I select Download and install this feature.  This way Windows will get the files it needs from Windows update and complete the installation.  Not so in my case... It searches and attempts to download the needed files and it comes back with the follwoing message:  The following feature couldn't be insalled: .NET framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 & 3.0).  Windows could not connect to the internet to download the necessary files.  Make sure you're connected to the internet, and click "Retry"... There doesn't seems to be for me a way of installing this update (KB2858725), i tried with windows update and downloading the installer from microsoft?s website. i tried some things related with the permissions but i don't have a clue what to do.

I attach the logs if someone has some time to spend on it

A:Net Framework 4.5.1 install failed. Code 643

I have had this before and I found it was prom a lack of permissions.

Had the same problem with .NET framework 4.5.1 update; the problem turned out to be that the C:\Program Data\Microsoft\Net Framework directory didn't have the right permissions to be able to be written to by the installer. I simply created the directory and set permissions on all C:\Program Data directories to "SYSTEM: Full Control", "Administrators: Full Control" and "CREATOR OWNER: Full Control." Next time I used update it worked perfectly.

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz
Op System: Windows XP Home SP3 5.1.2600(Retail)

I've spent the last 2 days trying to update the .NET Framework from 2.0 to 3.5. I have tried everything in this Microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso2

I still can't get the .NET framework to update. It downloads but won't install. I'm having other problems that I believe are caused by this same problem but I need to resolve this before I worry about anything else.

I have done a Windows repair from the XP home CD (Retail Version). I didn't use the console. At setup I clicked on the R to repair Windows. I have tried so many things that I can't remember all of them. I also tried to uninstall .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 using the add remove programs and receive the following message: Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 cannot be uninstalled because it will affect other applications that are installed. If you have 4.0 installed, what's the reason for now installing 3.5, SP1?

Frankly, I have 3.5, SP1 and 4.0 both installed on this system, with no problems...while I have installed 3.5, SP1 on my other system.

I suggest uninstalling all versions currently on your system, using the tool located at http://cid-27e6a35d1a492af7.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip .

Then I would install 3.5, SP1.

Whenever I try to install a .NET framework version, it always fails to install, whether it's from Windows Updates, or the Microsoft website. I'm trying to install a QuickBooks update that tries to install .net framework 3.5 on our server and it keeps failing. I went to windows update and tried their version and it failed. The server is running Windows Server 2003 SP2. The only option left is to uninstall all versions of .net framework and reinstall them for version1.1 thru 3.5 (QuickBooks support's only solution). I can't do this because about 4 of our major applications use .net and this would cause all of them to crash and require a complete reinstall of the applications on the server.
Has anyone had this problem with .net framework v3.5 and have you found a solution?
Thanks for your help.

Hi guys,

I turned on my computer and at startup I get a message from Catalyst Control Center that saids:

"could not load file or assembly 'sorttbls.nlp' or one of it dependencies. the system cannot find the specified file"

I believe that this is due to a missing or corrupt .NET Framework pack.

My question is how do I go about fixing or installing the missing .NET Framework packs I may need, and how do I go about correcting the error message I keep getting at start up that you see above?

I also downloaded the .NET Framework verication tool and from the looks of it I think I'm missing SP1. I will post the logs in a seprate post after this one, because I lost everything I wrote when I tried posting it together with this.

Thank you!

Event ID: 512

Description:
Windows Store failed to sync machine licenses. Result code 0x80070002

The above is last error that I still have in Event Log. My understanding is that I should sing in with Microsoft store to get rid of this error.
And that is the thing: I am not willing to sign. I never bought anything from MS App Store (which I disabled). So how can I stop this annoying attempts of licenses syncing?

I did some extensive search but could not find any solution to the problem except signing with App Store.

Thank you for any suggestion

A:Windows Store failed to sync machine licenses.

Hello Michal,

If you like, the Windows Store has a ton of free apps as well that you may like to install and use. They are not all pay for apps.

Updates for your default modern apps that came with Windows 8.1 are also updated through the Store.

You could use the method in the tutorial below to sync app licenses to stop the error, but it requires you to open the Store and of course requires you to sign in to the Store with a Microsoft account to do.

Tried everything. From adding full user control to trusted installer and creator/owner in Windows/Microsoft. net and Program Data directories to therepair service verifier, making sure virus scanner is off, fixit solutions, sfc /scannow's clean bill of health, uninstalling a few upgrades mentioned with .netframe 4.0 and 3.5 etc etc. I get a fatal error if I try to uncheck .net 3.5 (the only version I can see since all other have been uninstalled) in 'turn windows features on and off), smartmsizap, msiinv, Smart boot(cold boot? with the startup items not checked and initial boot config). I think something is wrong here with either registry or program permissions because the initial 4.5.1/4.5.2 install zips to a random c:/ directory and then it asks me to find netfx_core_x64.msi which I point to in that directory, but says it is not the netfx_core_x64.msi that came with the installation.

As of current, I do not have any working .net framework which is bad because 1) some progrmas, ie video games require it 2) my schoolwork/development environments need it for things like Git

Another weird thing is although I manually installed net framework 1.1, only 3.5 shows up in the 'turn windows features on or off' and I can't 'uncheck' it or add the sub trees underneath it. Almost like it is not there but doesn't want to install additional componenets or be completely uninstalled.

I have (also according to Windows Control Panel > Installed Updates) successfully installed KB2919355 on 13th Apr 2014. So to me, the KB2919355 is in place (and various KB installations after that, too) <- I do get all the Windows System updates (including security updates) BUT not Windows Store application updates.

So the problem is the "Windows Store failed to sync machine licenses. Result code 0x80070490" which pops into Windows Event log on daily basis.

TEMPORARILY fix: running Windows update troubleshooter fixes the problem (it stops and restarts BITS and Cryptographic services) and after a while I get a notification to the Windows Store Tile that there are new updates (if any). BUT after rebooting Windows the problem (Windows Store failed to sync machine licenses. Result code 0x80070490) always re-appears in the Event logs.

Here is the report of successfull Windows update troubleshooter.

Also:

1) running DISM does not help (see below)
2) Going to Store settings and "Sync licenses" does not help
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth ->

Hello TJ,

See if clearing the Store cache and manually syncing the app licenses for the Store may help.

What version of Windows 10 do you have ?

ONLY Windows 10 Pro ( and Enterprise version ) is capable of running gpedit.msc.

Windows 10 Home can only use regedit.msc.

When I try to install .net framework 4.6 it says it cannot install because the operating system is not supported. This is because I don't have SP1. Is there a way to install it without installing SP1?

A:Framework 4.6 on windows 7 wont install without SP1

Any reason why you don't have the SP1 installed? And no, if Microsoft says you need Windows 7 with SP1 to install .NET Framework 4.6, then you need the SP1 installed.https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49982

I just installed Windows 7 Embedded (Windows Thin) on a USB Stick and booted it.

I'm trying to installed .Net Framework 4 and it keeps telling me to Update Windows first.

So I tried updating windows but I keep getting the 80070005 error.
I googled the error and I came across this

Basically I should download subinacl.msi and install it in c:\windows\system32
but when I do I get this: error 2755 1632

I have no idea what to do next. I can't install .Net Framework, can'y update windows, I can't do anything.

I even checked if the TEMP folder is encrypted, it's not.
Any advise?

dear sevenforums community,

i am using win 7 home premium 64 bit.
yesterday, i bought a new 3.5 external hard drive, inside it there is a dot net framework 3.5 installation package.
Not knowing that win 7 SP 1 comes from net framework 3.5 installed already, i double clicked the exe file from the external hdd.

and then i encountered the PCA (program compatibility assistant) notification, this program does not installed correctly thingy.

from there, i google and try to redo it from scratch, by which i mean i tried to uninstall the 3.5 framework from my win7.
and then i unistall it with .net fx cleanup tool from the msdn blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/cfs-filesystem..._5F00_tool.zip).

Now, i am trying to re-install the net framework 3.5 from the 231 mb full package net framework 3.5 i got from microsoft web.

now, this is the problem i encountered, when i tried to install it, i got "setup.exe stop working" or something like that,
below is the error report attached on 3 files.

My question simply is, how to re-install dot net framework 3.5 SP 1 on my Win 7 now that i had uninstall it due to my own stupidity?
thank you very much and have a great day,
kungfupanda

A:dot net framework 3.5 setup error on windows 7? how to install?

Since .net framework 3.5 is included as part of Windows 7 I'd try to roll back my computer by using a restore point from a date/time prior to when the problems first appeared.

System Restore

If that doesn't work try repairing those sytem files by running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) You already know the .net framework files are damaged or corrupted so the SFC scan should definitely indicate that problems were found. Run the scan 3 times and reboot the computer after each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If SFC is unable to restore the .net framework files then option three shows how to generate a cbs.log and figure out what files could not be repaired. Once you get that information you could manually extract and install clean copies of those files from a Windows 7 installation disk.

Extract Files from Windows 7 Installation DVD

Personally, if running SFC three times didn't fix the problem I'd just go straight to a Repair Install.

I was having trouble in installing .net Framework 3.5 in Windows Server 2012. I tried many methods and did not work. At last I used the following method that worked.
I searched internet for many months and at last I found the following files. I copied the files in C:\35 folder. Any folder name will do.

Now :

Run Powershell as administrator and run the command below.
Install-WindowsFeature Net-Framework-Core -source "c:\35"
I waited 10 minutes and it installed. At last I have managed to install it.
I hope this helps many people.

This problem has been occuring for awhile and is preventing my windows XP from being up to date. It's now preventing me from running certain games and applications that require an up to date windows install. In general it's probably not good either ! I can't install the .NET framework updates for SP2. It seems to work, but then when I log back in it always asks me to update the same ones. I'm not sure what's going on or if there is a way to manually install them? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you!

A:Can't install .Net Framework 3.5 in Windows 7 64bit Ultimate

You say you can't install .Net 3.5? It should be installed by default. First let's determine if you actually already have 3.5. An easy method is to navigate to C:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework . You will have a folder for each version installed

Or a simple utility like .NET Version Detector

Also confirm it is enabled in Turn windows features on or off

Start> In search box type Turn windows features on or off> Enter> Scroll down to Microsoft .NET Framework> It will likely show 3.5.1 as mine does (even though I have V4 installed, 3.5 comes WITH Windows 7)> Make sure it is highlighted

Assuming you do actually already have it, then we're trying to determine why this program is asking for it? Why you think that's the issue, etc. We'd need to know what software is causing the issue, screenshots of any errors, and how you determined .net 3.5 is the issue.

Been getting these for awhile now... went through with Panda (great job, very thorough, HIGHLY recommended)... doesn't seem to be a virus.... up to date on all patches, updates.. re-did sp3 to make sure...

Also, lsdelete not found since the virii cleaning above.... that seems to be the autocheck interruptis before start of windows....

running mcafee 8.5.0i and Symantec Protection Agent 5.1 as requirements from work...

everything I find says this is a failed negotiation with a 2003 server, but it's an XP box.... HELP?

I find the same references as you...the server reference fits if you are part of a domain when this happens (e.g., at work).

If it's a standalone XP box, forget what I said .

I think I'd run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r, just to try to do something that might be productive.

I think I'd also run Memtest, since those c0000005 errors can be memory-related.

Hello dear community,
I have now tried to install .NET Framework for several months, but nothing worked for me. I used the following methods:
- Installing it offline via "dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:F\sources\sxs /LimitAccess", and yes, this is the directory where the folder is. I also ran cmd.exe as an administrator. It instantly goes up to 99.8%, stops
for about 10 seconds, and then returns the error. Here's a screenshot: http://prntscr.com/1eh1x1
- Enable it with Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on or off -> .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)
- Typing "lodctr /r" into administrative cmd.exe and tried the step above again

Here's my DISM log-file: http://www.mediafire.com/view/j71dpfqf47uif5i/dism.log

I really hope than you can help me.

Regards,
Nick
