I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This morning my laptop screen turned pink and overlapping imprints of text and pictures. I ran a diagnositics test and Video Palette Failed with failure id: PPG073-805840-MFPWLK-Q2. any idea on a fix? Thanks //Vipul

My Laptop is 13 months old Dell I7 5558, i was facing this screen flicker issue previously ,where i got my Laptop Screen replaced by you ,but now I'm facing the same issue .
Previously before replacing i used to have just few flicker, now flicker rate got increased even more & Screen Goes black which is really annoying.
Even at the logo Screen I 'm seeing Green & pink lines
Sometimes nothing appears on the screen just flicker of Green & pink lines & black Screen After that.Where i should to remove my battery & place it ,to turn on my laptop in this case.
Problem is not related to software, if that was the case flicker should not be at dell logo screen.
But FYI my Graphic Card Drivers are already up to date.
I Guess the problem is at the hinges or with the monitor or maybe related to mother board itself.
when my laptop screen is less than 90 degree i can see few flicker, when it 90 degrees or more than that ,continuous flicker & black screen later as like monitor looses power nothing .

Any Other Information Required let me know.

my screen seems to be polarized with some colors. It all started with the ending of a sims 3 game. Shut down screen is normal. I have a HP Touchsmart 320-1020
Processor: AMD Athlon 11X2 235e Processor 270 GHz 64 bit I should add that not all screens are affected. my browser screen (dogpile) does not seem to be affected. Could this be a graphics card problem or would updating to windows 8 solve the issue.

A:Pink Screen

I'd start with an update of the graphics card drivers. If you already have the latest version then maybe backing off a version and doing the update will fix it.
I would not recommend upgrading to W8 just to fix a 'minor' problem. AFTER you fix the graphics problem the update becomes a matter of personal preference.

A:Pink/red screen

Hello Elizmar and welcome to TSF!

Artifacts can be related to anything, really.. but mostly stem from a dying video card, a bad video card driver install, or a monitor issue.

I would first recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of your video card drivers. If you're already at the latest version, I would recommend rolling back / installing a previous version to be sure the latest version of the drivers is not the issue.

If drivers are not the issue, I would recommend re-seating your video card (assuming it's a desktop) to be sure there's no bad connection between the slot and the video card itself, etc.

If it's not a desktop, please post back with your system information / laptop and model number.

Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Expand the Windows Logs heading, and check both the System and Application log files. Let us know if you find any errors there.

Screen has gone pink and sometimes has what can only be described as 'screen burn' when it is forst turned on. I ran diagnostics (which is really difficult with the display problem) and it did not report anything. Plugged laptop in to an external display & picture is fine. I appreciate the laptop is out of warranty but I only purchased it on 28th Sept 2015, 16 months ago. It is not used very often, maybe twice a week if that. Having done a bit of research I have managed to deduce that is this is known problem. I am now faced with a repair bill for at least 150 which I don't think is acceptable. This product is not fit for purpose.Has anybody else had this and how did you sort it out?

This is the weirdest thing...I had just finished watching an episode of The Office on Hulu and my computer speakers make a loud buzz noise and the screen goes pink and I have to hard reset it. This is the first time anything like that's ever happened. Here's my current specs:

AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1ghz
4gb(2x2gb) G. Skill Ripjaw DDR3 PC3-10700H
Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P
Samsung SATA HDD
NVidia Quardro FX 3700 (normally it's an HD Radeon 4850 that I had to RMA..)
Windows 7, 64 bit

what could cause this?

A:pink screen of death?

Ehhh...I've seen this happen before. Watching Hulu full-screen is a strain on any computer. I once crashed my netbook in this manner....lol.

It could be just the graphics card crashing (possibly due to overheating)....a system cache leak (i.e. watching a long high-quality video "accumulates" in the memory and crashes the computer)....not really sure. I've never researched it.

I've only seen it happen once. Of course, I never tried to watch Hulu again on my netbook...so there ya go.

I doubt it will happen again. I wouldn't worry about it unless it is a regular occurrence.

I have had my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop for almost eight years now. However about five weeks ago the left screen hinge broke. Whilst waiting for a replace lid i noticed that the display would come up a pink colour whenever i booted up the laptop. However this would go back to normal colour staright away after the BIOS boot sequence.
However after having the lid replaced i noticed that the pink colour started showing up again a day later. And since it has not changed. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Will this worsen in the future or there is nothing to worry about. Once the system has booted up into Windows everything is ok.

Looks like the monitor cable is not making proper contact. Make sure it is firmly connected to the PC and the monitor.

Of course, it could be a bad video cad or a bad monitor too.. Try another monitor if playing with the cable doesn't help.

also make sure the connection on from the monitor to the computer is on tight. did these lines all of a sudden appear one day?

A:Pink Screen color?

This problem is most likely caused by a bad color amplifier circuit inside the monitor. See if you can beg, borrow or steal another monitor to try out. If problem resolved then you know for sure it's the monitor.
You could also try that monitor on another machine.

My desktop is having some issues right now that are preventing me from using it basically at all. When it starts up normally, it will usually have alot of pink infest the screen at some point and then my computer stops responding. It will then have an error when it tries to boot up the next time, asking me to boot up with either startup repair or in safe mode. Even if I don't have the "pink scren of death" freeze my computer, it has these issues starting up the next time as well. I don't know what is causing this, but i was able to back up the important files on the computer in case there isn't a solution to this. I did run a Norton full-system scan and it didn't find anything. Any and all help would be appreciated as this is grinding my family's productivity to a great halt right now.

A:Pink Screen of death

Might be a display driver or device issue since you don't see it in Safe Mode.

Have you tried doing a "System Restore" to a date when it worked without issues? If the problem continues after that, the source is most likely hardware. Running System Restore will not cause you to lose data -- and they can be undone if not helpful.

You can also try "Clean Boot" troubleshooting.

Run msconfig and select the "Services" tab. Check "Hide Microsoft Services" and then disable the rest. Also uncheck "load startup group" on the general page.

See this link for detailed information:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 << for Vista, but applies equally to XP, and better written.

Now restart and test the issue at hand

If no problems, run msconfig and recheck half the disabled items on the Services tab. Test again. If the problem recurs, UNcheck half the items you just checked to narrow down the culprit.

If the problem didn't occur, check the other half, so all the Services are enabled -- proceed to do this on the startup tab as well.

Get the idea? You want to isolate the problem to a specific startup if possible.

Note: if you already have items unchecked under msconfig > startups and are in “selective” startup mode – you should note what these are before beginning. They will need to be de-selected again.

A:Pink/Purple Screen

Exactly which model AIO is this?
Unplug it.
If you're still under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support ASAP.
If no longer under warranty, you may have to take it to a reputable PC shop to examine the system and find/replace the part(s) that failed. Working inside an AIO can be challenging, so unless you're experienced at this, you probably shouldn't attempt it your own.
Depending on the model and the exact problem, it might not be cost-effective to repair it...

Thinkpad z61m running Vista Business goes to a pink screen after normal login. Tried safe mode and it brings up blank black screen with safe mode in all four corners. Hooked up external monitor and it displays same pink screen. Safe mode loading one driver at a time ends up the same. Ran Norton and everything scanned okay. HDD seems to be doing fine. In other words, it appears all is well but I just can't see the desktop. Oddly the laptop function keys to start the external monitor or to bring up the wireless mgt interface or to eject a device work fine and these interfaces pop up over the top of the pink screen as if nothing is wrong. Also I can start the PC and go directly into Thinkvantage rescue recovery and use Opera browser. I am typing from the PC right now and the display looks great. It only bombs to pink when I login into Vista. Not sure if I can apply driver updates while not logged into Vista but going to try. I believe it has an Nvidia video card but can't get into Vista to confirm and hardware summary under rescue recovery does not detail.

In that rare air where it appears this isn't a serious enough problem to require reload O/S and not even sure that would resolve but can't use PC unless I can make progress. Any ideas appreciated.

A:Pink Screen on tv when pc is connected.

This sounds to me of more of a hard ware problem than a software problem due to the pink; this being a tell tail sign of a bad connection.
From personal experience with a multitude of displays even a VGA plug that looks in isn't necessarily making contact due to general wear and tear caused by plugging and unplugging and any bending of the plug while in the socket.
I would recommend lightly moving the plugs both in the laptop and the TV/Monitor while they are not screwed in and look for any change.
If your Laptop has an S-Video port give that a try and see if that works.
If possible try with another computer or another TV monitor.
Has this connection worked on this TV before?
Also this may sound odd but try booting your PC into safe mode (go into boot options and choose boot options while booting) and try it then; I've had some luck with this before.
You could also try putting your PC into 16bit colour display. I have no idea if that will work or not but it's worth a try.
I hope this helps and wish you luck.
Please post your results here for me to see.

Odd problem. When Thinkpad z61m widescreen laptop running vista business reboots, login screen appears as normal. User login is fine and circular process hums along as if all is well. When desktop would normally appear screen turns pink. HDD appears to be running fine. you can hit Fn f5 and wireless mgt interface appears on top of the pink screen. Ctl Alt Dlt will not bring up mgt console. I can reboot to safe mode options and it ends up after login with a black screen with safe mode in all four corners. Mouse cursor is visible and moves whether on pink screen or black screen safe mode. I attached an external monitor since the function keys work but external shows the pink screen also which would lead you to the video card or video drivers.

Basically, I've had this problem once and it disappeared like 2 days after. I left it at that. Then it came back this time 3x worse. I've had this problem with my laptop's screen. 3 Quarters of it would be flickering and repeating the start bar and it would be greenish or pinkish which made it really hard for me to use. It has been happening for 2 days in a row now. When I on my laptop, the black screen loads up along with the green/pink thing. Then it continues, sometimes there would be a red line on the left hand side. I really hope that I could fix this. My laptop is a hp-f039wm. Thank you very much for your concern.

Hello So basically I was in a trip for a month and before I left my computer seemed to be fine but when I came back my computer screen was all pink and fuzzy. I tried and contact Microsoft support and everything and they said it was a driver problem I try to update my driver and it says that it is up to date. Then I google my prblem and it says its a problem with the graphic card with Nvidia but my laptop doesn't have that graphic card, it has the iCore 5 from intel Thank You

So I was playing some Skyrim Special Edition, and when I finished my session and exited the game, my screen was pink with some some green stripes. Now, I've searched about and found similiar issues (see below)I've had an issue like this where the screen has kind of "blinked" green/pink for just a second and appeared fine again in long intervalls of maybe 5 minutes in the past, but usually it has gone away, and been in relation to an uninstalled driver update (at least I think so...) https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Y50-70-Green-Screen-with-Pink-Haze/td-p/2157543 And of course, the answers are different from source to source, but one that kept appearing was replacement of the LCD screen or something like that. (it may not necessarily be the issue here, but I guess it is.)I'm interested in hearing what people has to say about the issue and what to do. I've still got an active warranty, so the only thing to do is to send it off to repairs? It's not something I can fix myself? Should I take a backup of files (mainly games) that I don't wanna lose? Is it guaranteed that it will be fixed?I'm situated in Norway, and the one and only repair place is in Oslo and I'm gonna call them later today.

Yes, if the screen is changing colors, it is possibly an impending hardware failure. Your best bet is to send it to the repair center, take pictures of the laptop before sending it off, note down its serial number and other details.
Under Warranty this should be a free repair as long as there is no evidence of rough handling. It is always advised to take backup of any and all important files before sending the laptop for repair. In my experience, such issues should be fixed first time if they are immediately reproducible. Just check with them if they have the spare parts available for this fix (if they can check and give you that information). Usually, the repair center will receive the machine, diagnose and replace the required parts (if need be).
I had my motherboard replaced once but I had to send it twice before they actually fixed it. Include as much detail in your repair request while creating the case, so that the defect can be identified.
