[SOLVED] Help Finding the Right XP Pro Disk ?

Q: [SOLVED] Help Finding the Right XP Pro Disk ?

I have a Toshiba TE2000 with valid PID.

Using this site as a reference, I have tried the Windows XP Professional OEM "WXPOEM_EN" label twice, because everything that I have read has said that the OEM versions are the most versatile. But the install fails because XP doesn't like the PID.

But doing trial & error on XP installs is time consuming, and I was wondering if there was a way of decoding the PID sticker in order to determine which XP label will work with this PID.

I've done extensive Google (and other search engine) searches on all of the text on the label, to no result. Nor have I been able to find any kind of reference that explains what the various codes mean (X08-73066, E85-01144, etc...), so any help there would be appreciated.

Also I'm interested in learning more about what the "1 - 2 CPU" means, and also that with this PID you can install either Win2000 Pro, or XP Pro.

Any help would be appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: [SOLVED] Help Finding the Right XP Pro Disk ?

So what exactly is your problem. Are you wanting to reinstall but you lost your OS disc? I would call Toshiba and ask them if they can send a replacement. They will charge you a couple of bucks to do so but it will be cheaper than buy it new. To use those Product keys you will probably need an OEM OS disc.

XP Pro and 2000 Pro can run on a dual processor machine.

I am not sure where this goes so please feel free to move it or tell me where to post it lol.

I am trying to find a recovery Disk for an Emachine computer we just acquired. I already tried to contact Emachine for it & they said they do not manufacture that disk any more & just told me to buy a new OS & find the drivers online. Which wouldnt be a problem but the 60 bucks for a new Windows XP disk is more then the PC is worth lol.

Figured I would ask here, see if someone happens to have one laying around they wouldnt mind selling to me or letting me have for cheap.

Oh & we tried to use our Windows XP disk with the OEM number on the Emachine, but it now wont register or anything & of course I figured out that that is a no no.. Is there a such thing as a Non-OEM Number containing disk that you can buy & use to reinstall windows w/ the computers OEM number?

Btw. the Emachine is model # W3050

I've recently tried out Windows 2012 Data Deduplication and due to an error I could not retrieve all my files.
I'm trying to find all of the files on the disk that say they have a file size but when you look under "Size on disk" it says it takes up 0 Bytes.

I've tried sorting the files by Size and by Space used. I've searched using Windows Explorer with size:empty but am coming up with nothing.

Thanks for your help.

P.S. I took a look into Sparse file utility but it turns out these files aren't sparse files.

EDIT: I've also tried chkdsk but it reports that there are no errors on the drive.

My problem is that I have just bought a new system running vista after the old one died following a motherboard problem (it refused to boot). I have salvaged the old hard disk which ran XP and it appears to be sound and I have put it in an external enclosure connected to the new computer. This sounds straight forward, but I can not figure this out I am new to this. I have a Etower 500 MHz with 192 mb's of memory and 4 gig hard drive. I used partition magic 3.5 to partition the drive inorder to try and install DOS and win98 and maybe linux. I am following the instructions from this web site here>> http://www.xperts.co.za/multi-boot/ I am using the disks that I made from downloading from this site referring to REUEL Boot disk this disk took me through the entire process. It all went great until I rebooted and I keep getting Non-System disk or disk error I have no disk's in the drives. I even installed win98 and all it did was go straight to windows. With in windows I could see the drives I partitioned all of them except the one that windows was actually on. I have done this again and again trying to see if I did anything wrong. Anybody know what is wrong?
Also can anyone tell me how to get free dos I can not figure out what files to download. The one that I am trying to install now is suppose to be mini dos 6.22. I am really new to dos so I am doing a lot of guessing.

Hi adya,

Vista does not use any dos boot files, you will need to find xp ones for this purpose...I also doubt you can properly update your bios using a USB drive as this is highly unsupported and untested, It would be better to use a floppy disk but you should have access to a windows based bios flash program, check your motherboard manufacturer website as they usually have one available

I need help. I have two HD installed on my pc. One HD is an 80GB and the other is 40GB. I have the 80GB HD partition into two drives of 40GB each. So I had a C,D,and E drive. My computer was beginning to get cluttered and was running a little slow so I decided to wipe my 80GB HD and re-install the operating system (XP Pro). I went ahead and wiped the drive and reinstalled the operating system. I also partition the drive once again to two 40GB HD's. Everything went as planned however I can only see my C drive now. I do not see my D or E drive. I am really worried because my E drive was used to back up all my files and I was thinking since I did not touch that drive all should be well and in tack. My question is how do I find my D and E drive and will all my files still be in my E drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

so right now i have a 430W PSU that only has 18A on the 12V rail, and i am thinking about getting a new video card sometime this summer. After reading may requirements it looks like my PSU is just too weak for the newer cards (8800GT or 3870).

I am willing to spend up to $140 on a new on, but wanting some modular cabling to neaten up the case some (pretty messy right now). Another thing I am looking at is the efficiency of the PSU (I rather have higher efficiency than a 700W PSU for an example). Currently I am looking at 2 different ones right now.

425W but total 33A from 3 12V rails

500W but total 32A from 2 12V rails

However the pics are very small and there is no link to the full resolution ones. I was just wondering if anyone had any of these on hand, or knows where to get them. I have all the easily accessible ones, I just need the word ones now. I want HAMME(RED) first haha. but w/e

Im currently using one that says (RED)MOND which I don't know where it came from. It doesn't even make sense.

A:[SOLVED] Help Finding Wallpaper

Just make your own. Download GIMP (Direct download link here, alternatively you may use Photoshop if you have it or any other image manipulation program that can work with layers and text) and find the original background without the text on it for all the RED pictures. Use that as your background layer, then use the text tool to type whatever you want on it. Set the text on another layer and set opacity to 50 and you're done. This is likely how every one of those pictures were made.

If you want I could go into more newbie-friendly detail about how to do this. I could also do it for you if I had the background image.
