Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze

Q: Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze

Hello to everyone!

I am currently experiencing this Java problem that I only encounter when updating my Vuze Bittorrent Client. I am just updating it to newer version but every time I try, the error pops up. The complete error is:

"An error occurred: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException"

After clicking OK button, the setup ends. And when I re-try to install the update, the Vuze Installation Wizard will show this message:

"The installer did not start up correctly on the last run. This is probably caused by a corrupted Java VM. Do you want to download or manually select the JVM?"

When I choose YES, the installer will download the file but will fail and will show the Java error. When I choose NO, the installer will proceed normally but will show the same Java error.

I manually update my Java to the latest version which is Version 7 Update 45 but problem still persists. I checked my Java version by going to https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp.

If you have questions, feel free to ask. I need your help on this since I'm a bit cautious when dealing with this Java since I don't know much about it.

Thanks in advance!

Preferred Solution: Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze

Well; first thing i would try is completely uninstalling Java; and then reinstalling it. Then;(make sure any files retrieved from the bit torrent client are backed up if possible) uninstall the bit torrent client and reinstall that. Try these things and report back and we can go from there if not solved.

Not too sure when this started. I receive this HTTP 500 internal server error and then the above error message when I have logged into my insurance companys protected website. I can log into it on my husbands laptop though. I did have some problems with malware awhile back and went through this site to clean it up but I never tried logging into this site until recently. I did an update on java before as well. Doesn't make sense that I can log in but when I try to access anything that is when I get the error message, but not when I go through another computer.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Also, I have no clue where I should have posted this??? Sorry

Thanks for your time.

I've had this error forever, so I don't recall what I was doing when it first came up.
I have Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002. WJView Error follows:

ERROR: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

I also get another error occasionally on startup:

My firewall blocks this one from accessing the internet, but it would be nice to get rid of it. Many thanks,

A:Windows xp Error Java/Lang/Object

It may not mean anything important. Possibly, it is something remaining from an old program that no longer exists.

Have you recently installed an updated version of Sun Java? Are you having any problems with Java in your browser that you are aware of?

In any case, if you could post the contents of your autoexec.bat file, we may be able to eliminate the message.

To do that, you will need to have hidden files visible. So do that in Folder Options if you don't have them visible.

Then, open My Computer, click on the C: drive, and find autoexec.bat. Right-click it and choose "Edit". Copy the contents and paste them here.

I have this error, in JAVA I guess, that won't let me get on any sites. From the Bellsouth site I get. "Error Sending Template Data: "java.lang.NullPointerException"." any time I try to log on to e-mail.
I have tried to re-download explorer and it did not help any. It is keeping me from getting on many web sites and says that I can not continue because my computer will not accept cookies. I do not have the cookies blocked and my security is fine.

Any Ideas?

I am running latest version of Windows 10. I have been having a lot of trouble lately with my Quicken software....like everyone else it seems. I decided to try Moneydance instead and downloaded it. Then decided to try Quicken once more since I have been using it a long time. I had the 2016 version and decided to try the 2017 instead. It downloaded some things for me and then got all the figures messed up. I decided I have had it. I had already decided to delete Moneydance so there would be no conflict. When I try to re-download Moneydance it won't let me. Gets almost finished and then stops and gives me a java.lang.NullPointer Exception error. Before I attach the almost 4 pages of that came up on my notepad, I will ask if you need that.If anyone has any suggestions of something else I can use instead of Quicken, please let me know. Our bank has just been merged with another that happens the middle of March and would like to get something that works.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have two problems:

I wanted to enter a stock market forum but when I clicked to enter, I received a note that said:

I have attempted to research what this means, with no luck. I was using IE at the time.

I decided to attempt it using Netscape 7.0. This time I received an error message telling me that I didn't have access because my cookies needed to be enabled. When I checked the Netscape options, it said my cookies WERE enabled.

Can anyone please help me??

Sincerely grateful,

I know this may sound silly, but check your date/time/month/year and especially time zone settings on your computer and make sure they are set up properly for the time zone you are in.

If time is incorrect, some web sites ( secure ) will discard the cookie regardless if cookies are enabled.

i keep on getting the above error when trying to run my java class file. i've done some research and they said that its either a bad compile or a classpath problem. I've set my environmental var classpath to the right directory, but i still got that same error.

its probably not a compile error because this same class file runs on my other computer. but i have to run it on a specific computer (the one that this class file doesn't work at) because i'm doing some speed tests and i have to keep the computer hardware constant through out the test.

i don't have the source right now, but i did upload the class file if anyone wants to try it. any help would be great.

classfile: http://www.geocities.com/kitkat12012/Bsjava.zip

its a bubble sort program that reads random numbers saved on a data files. the data files are pretty huge so i didn't upload them. if you guys probably get an error saying that the data files doesn't exist, then the class probably works at your pc.

Got windows 2000 ME. On start up got an error box stating unable to locate system class java/lang/object. How do I get rid of it.
Thanks anyone

A:system class java/ lang /object

java/lang/object class is a class include in a Java library called rt.jar

It seems that starting up your OS requires the execution of a Java application for a Java runtime you don't have.
So, run something like Ad-aware or check into your registry if you don't have something like : java.exe something.class or
java.exe -jar something.jar

Anyone know why I get Java error after updating: DefaultBrowserError:2 and what can I do about it?

I've having a few problems that apparently may be related.

1) Vista Backup stops with Catastrophic error 0x8000FFFF.

2) A search on error 0x8000FFFF says that it may have something to do with Java.

3) Java's site says that I don't have Java installed.

4) Downloading Java ends with a Java error 25099, the zip file wont unzip properly?

5) Explorer closes down frequently and has to re-start.

6) Java is in the "Program files" but not registered in Control Panel un-install programs?

So, what does all this mean and what can I do about it?

How do I find out if I have Java working on my PC? Why wont the Java download unzip?

The only option I can see is to un-install Java from Program Files manually, do a Registry Repair and then start over with trying to install Java again.

I'll do this but I thought that someone may know something else about this that would be important to know.

So, does anyone know anything else about this and what to do?

According to official site of Oracle, This is a known issue with Microsoft KB2918614The root causes of these errors are under investigation. If this error still persists after uninstalled this update.
You could try following zooeyhall?s suggestion to download and install a previous version of Java or try creating a new administrative user account and install Java with the new account.
Regarding to JAVA installation error, I?d suggest that we post at JAVA forum for further support. There you can get more effective suggestion by other experts who familiar with it. Your understanding is highly appreciated.

If you have desktop programs which require java to run then the best thing you can do is disable it's browser functions, this can be done by the method described on the following page, that way java can still run for those who need it as an environment for their desktop programs, but it will not be vulnerable as a browser plugin.

My Java does something that I find strange. It updates constantly. The tray icon always says Update Available, even when I know it automatically updated itself earlier in the day.

My Programs and Features on Windows Vista says I have Java 6 Update 11.

This updating is rather annoying because I use Vista and have the security thing active that makes it ask if you REALLY REALLY want to do this (it's annoying, but I find less problems in my system).

The computer is an Acer Aspire 5610Z with Intel Pentium Dual-Core running Windows Vista SP1.

I am having issues updating Java7 update 15. I get the message my PC is lacking the installation package jre 1.7.0_09-c.msi. Under Control Panel I see Java 7 Update 11, but I can't uninstall it, I have Windows 7, 64-bit,

A:Problems updating Java

Not sure I understand the problem.
The java new installer should remove any older version, it's not necessary to try to remove anything manually.  Even if it were, the vehicle for removing a program is Add/Remove Programs.  After the update, you should see an entry reflecting "Java 7 Update 15" in Add/Remove Programs.

I'm having trouble updating Java on my son's laptop. It has Vista Basic os and is currently at Java Version 6 Update 18.

When trying to update it to Update 20, I get a message stating :-

"Unable to launch the Java (TM) Update Installer: The requested operation requires elevation".

I had no such problem going to Update 20 on my XP desktop. Has anybody else came across this before?

Thanks for any help.

If the Administrator Account has been activated, logoff and logon as Administrator and try again.

Otherwise see http://www.computerperformance.co.uk...r_activate.htm.

I downloaded an update to Java the other day (6.0.200 Update 20) and rebooted my computer. I then clicked on my ID and then IE7. It said waiting on Yahoo.com and waited and waited until finally loading the website. It then dragged on until additional info had loaded for the page.

I tested IE7 under my wife's Id and my son's and both work well with no delay. I re-installed IE7 last night but no improvement. I attempted to do a system restore but XPhome would not restore?? It would say unable to restore to restore point. I even tried a few earlier restore points and it would not work??

Any ideas??

I would first try to uninstall Java using the Add/Remove programs in Control Panel, reboot, then reinstall java.

Once again I find myself with 'real things to do' and updating Java. Boy is this a love/hate relationship. Why can't Oracle get this right?

I successfully downloaded and installed 8.25 (avoiding the 'free bloatware' bundled with it.) I ran the uninstall routine and was assured that I'd successfully uninstalled all previous version.

Just to be sure, I closed SeaMonkey ( Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:33.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/33.0 SeaMonkey/2.30 Build identifier: 20141013232806) and went to Oracle's (Java Uninstall Tool) and sure enough Java 7 Update 67 was apparently still there and could not be uninstalled with error code is 1605.

Sure enough, I found a recommendation that I run Javara. Moments later I was on the MajorGeeks download mirror and found myself facing an 'in my face' you need to run this test first to check for problems with my Windows installation. Instead of Javara the file presented was Reimage. I backed out. I didn't want to go to the next step of verifying that what I was about to do was legit.

I guess I'm damned because:

a) I have enough technical savvy to be suspicious

b) I'm not geek enough to take pleasure in researching all the possible byways I've encountered in updating a minor part of my Web experience.

A:Java Updating - Always a Hassle?

I've used JavaRa in the past with no problems. Currently I don't have java installed and don't need it!

I tried the MajorGeeks download and got - JavaRa

You can try the author's website if you like:

My AVAST tells me that these two are out of date, which is likely true, but when I try to update, they both fail for error 1603, 2203 or because the "database cannot be opened"

I don't know what any of that means.

I tried from Firefox, and IE with the same result.

I tried to remove them via control panel, and failed.

What is the trick? An obligation to accept ASK as browser and search engine?

A:Updating Java and Adobe

Flash Player must be installed in both browsers separately. How are you updating? You should only update from their prospective web sites.
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ java.com: Java + You or their automatic updaters. You can also click the Java and Flash Player icons in the Control Panel (Not Programs and Features) to update
You do not need to check to install the optional software (eg) Ask Toolbar etc
First, verify your Java version, if older it will remove it Verify Java Version
You can also use the Flash Player Uninstaller to remove Flash Player and then you can reinstall: http://download.macromedia.com/get/f...ash_player.exe

If Sun Java is listed in Add/Remove programs, best to remove it and install from here:

Be aware though that "Java" is different from javascript. But I think this is what you are looking for.

Java should always be kept up to date.Update your Java version here: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jspNote 1: UNCHECK any pre-checked toolbar and/or software offered with the Java update. The pre-checked toolbars/software are not part of the Java update.Note 2: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. Having just been through a mess with some trojans and reading about the Vundo virus, I decided to update my Java today. But when I try to update to the XPI version of the latest Java, Firefox blocks it. Is there a problem with the download, or do I have a security setting too high on my current Firefox browser? I'm using jre1.4.2 on Windows XP Home Ed.

Thanks for your help!

Cancel that. I found I AM running 1.5 but my computer only says 1.4.2 Is there a better way to find out which version of a software you have than just doing a search for the program? I've had this happen before that I have more than one version of a program, and only one of them shows up in search.

Thanks again!

Java's past two updates have failed due to the directory being locked during installation. How do I unlock it?

A:Updating Java: directory locked?

Download and save the new version, which is 1.5.0 Update 6 and can be downloaded from here.

Uninstall the old version, then delete its JAVA folder from inside the C:\PROGRAM FILES folder - if it's still there.

Reboot your computer.

Install the new version.

Hello out there,

Updating Java is making me a little crazy!
When I'm logged in under my credentials I keep getting the little popup note that I need to update Java.
I try to update it & it stalls, I assume because it requires Admin. credentials to install.
So I switch user to Admin. and I update Java without issue.
I switch back to my regular user after a reboot & I get the update notice again.
Try to install & hangs.
Done this circle a few times.....
Going a little crazy....any ideas?
