Q: Lenovo 15 Edge Normal Battery Mode Plugged in NOT ...

Recently my Lenovo 15 Edge (no longer under warrranty) and with a sealed in battery NOT in battery conservation mode is not charging when plugged in. I have gone through the forum looking for a solution. I cannot remove the battery like many suggest and I have installed the Lenovo power managment and checked that it is NOT in covservation mode. I have also checked that Windows Power Options is not in conservation mode. When I got to Lenovo Power Settings it alternates between battery is good and battery not installed. I have also tried calibrating the battery with no success. I have spent close to 5 hours working on this with no solution. Please help or send a Lenovo support contact number so I can call someone (even though it is not under warranty). This laptop is only a little over a year old and required for my business and now down to 16% battery life. Thanks so much.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi Team, I have Lenovo Edge 2 1580 laptop (Windows-10) which is currently showing some weired issue.Currently I am in Mexico-city on a tour and from the day I reached here, my laptop battery is not getting charged. It is showing message as:"Plugged-in not Charging"Before coming to Mexico, my laptop battery was getting charged sucessfully and was giving a great backup of 4-5 hours. Initially, I understand that it may be caused because of "Static Current" that might have come into my laptop when I was on plane. I performed all the available online Tests/ runs available in Lenovo website, but there was no successI downloaded the Lenovo tools that run scans on all available hardwares in laptop, but still there was no success.I un-installed and re-installed the battery drivers, lenovo microsoft battery management drivers, but still no success. So, I contacted the Lenovo Support Team, they suggested me the below steps:Unplugged the power cord >> (As my laptop battery is built-in & I cannot remove the battery) Press Power Button for 30-45 seconds >> Reconnect the power cord >> Switch on the laptop(No success on this as battery was still not getting charged)Then they asked me to take my laptop tp Bestbuy (GeekSquard) and get it rectified from them. Then I contacted  Best-Buy GeekSquard team,From the 1st moment itself, (Without opening the laptop or performing any test)  they are saying that my laptop battery is dead an... Ever since yesterday I've had this problem, I tried several solutions and none of them worked. Basically the problem is: The laptop only works on battery now. When the battery is at 0% the laptop turns off even if the AC is plugged in. To make matters worse, when the laptop is on I get this message "plugged, not charging". So basically the AC no longer works by itself and only charges the battery when the laptop is off. Here is what I tried so far:- Changing the settings on the Lenovo Energy Mangement tool- Uninstalling the Lenovo Energy Mangement tool - Taking off the battery and AC, pushing the power button for 30 seconds, putting them back in and turning on the laptop.- Starting the laptop on safe mode- Praying to God None of these things worked. Somebody help.

Hello,I have a problem with my T480s:When I plug the laptop into the wall it charges until the battery is full at 100%. Dear forum users and Lenovo developers, I have noticed that my battery level is dropping from 82% to 81% in a couple of days while plugged in. On my setting, I didn't select the "Standby mode to lower power use whenever it's possible" option, while having set a threshold for charging up to 85%. I suspect the battery level has dropped while I put the computer in sleep mode. This happened after I upgraded the Win 10 to its Anniversary Update version recently. Should I tweak any settings around to make the power/battery level stable? Thanks!

A colleague gave me his Lenovo Edge 2-1580 laptop to look at due to a charging problem he just encountered.  He said it started acting up about 3 weeks ago.  With the adapter plugged in, it quit charging (even though it registers as "plugged in, and charging").  He bought a new charging adapter, which did not fix the problem.  Then he bought a new battery, with the same results.  Then he gave it to me, and I am completely stumped. Both batteries are completely dead, with no way of charging them at all.  The laptop will run, as long as the charging adapter is plugged in.  I have tried every trick I could locate online, to no avail.  I might add, the laptop is not under warrenty, that ended on 2-20-17.  As a last resort, I did a OneKey Recovery, and took it back to factory settings, just in case some download may have affected it.  Still the same problem.  I am starting to think it is a motherboard issue, but as I said, it is out of warrenty.  Anyone have any ideas??  I have seen it change occationally from "plugged in, charging" (which is usually what it says, and isn't addressed that much online at all) to "plugged in, not charging" (which is talked about quite a bit).  But as stated before, all the tricks mentioned under those site, I have tried and nothing works. Would greatly appreciate ANY advise you could offer.  Right now it is a good paper weight that has to be plugged in all the ... I just finished the most recent Windows 10 Update around 7:00 pm EST on May 11, 2016. After it rebooted, I noticed the BATTERY indicator icon showing 95% in the GREEN icon. The black and white smaller battery icon shows 95% Available (Plugged in, not charging)! Both have been stuck in this position for over two hours. I just had not noticed this before, so not sure when this issue started. I can use some help in how to resolve this problem. Thank you very much.

Ok so a bit over a week ago I bought my ideapad 2 in 1 and about two-three days ago I noticed the battery was at 95 %. I keep it plugged in but it's not charging. Right now it's at 94% but that's probably because I moved it out of my room where I usually keep it to work in the dining room for a bit.Does anyone know how to fix it without removing the battery because I think I have to unscrew the back to get to it and I really would rather not do that or is it normal for the battery to be at a 94-95% charge. I really am hoping I don't have to bring it in to Best Buy because I just bought this and I can't financially afford to get it fixed right now

Hi!My Yoga 500-15ISK Laptop seems to have a battery issue. For some time now, whenever I plug my laptop into the AC power, I get this message, e.g. "(% charge) available, (plugged in, charging)", however for some reason, the battery level actually stays the same even after a significant amount of time of being plugged in to the AC supply. Moreover, the battery icon initially shows the animated one which indicates charging is indeed in progress, then after a few moments, it will freeze on the estimated level. Before this, my laptop's battery usually charges relatively quickly. Also, I have not turned on the Conservation Mode so it must charged up beyond 50-60% especially if I leave it plugged in overnight. This issue is really bewildering me right now. Any comments or suggestions on how I can address this issue? Thanks!Other notes re my laptop:It's been around 10 months since I've bought it and I have encountered this issue only a few days ago.I have no other issues with it.

Hi,

I have a Lenovo Z50-70 running Windows 8.1. The laptop is relatively new, bought in Jan. 2015.

Some time ago, the original battery suddenly started to have a problem where it would say 45% available, plugged in, not charging. No matter what fixes I tried (after looking through a lot of articles, posts, comments, etc.), nothing made the battery start charging again. It always stays at 45%. Also the battery light/indicator on the front of the laptop is always blinking white.

So I got a new battery, put it in hoping that it would work and charge up to 100%, but the new battery is having exactly the same problem as the original old one! It will only charge up to 45%, then it says plugged in not charging. The battery light is again always blinking white.

What do I do? How can this be fixed? What's going on?

Appreciate any help. Thank you very much.

check the warranty is still active, as thats one route you could take with a relatively new laptop.

also, try uninstalling the energy management and restart the system and check for the issue. also try uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI from the device manager and restart the system and check for the issue. for more info on this action see this thread in the link:

Okay, so my keyboard dock works fine. I restarted it once (paperclip method) after dying on me, but afterwards nothing was really wrong with it. Now, the tablet's battery is acting funny. At first, I thought it was just my keyboard dock not charging my tablet, so I detatched the keyboard, and the tablet completely shut off. I plugged the AC adapter into the tablet, and it came back to life, but it would not charge at all. The keyboard dock would be at 100%, but the tablet itself would only be at 8%. I have installed the Lenovo Dependency Package thing and the firmware update, but it didn't change anything. Now, even though it says (plugged in, charging) on my tablet, it's not really charging. So, whenever I unplug the tablet or detatch the tablet from the keyboard dock, the system completely turns off because it's only at 8%. Please help me! Thank you!  EDIT: Okay, so I unplugged the AC adapter while the keyboard dock was on and then Battery #1, the tablet battery, drained down to 0%, and its status is now Plugged in, not charging, while Battery #2 is plugged in, charging. I also got a pop up notification saying there's an error in battery #1, see replacement options. I clicked it, but it was a dead browser link. Also, when I go to the Support app, it says under messages that my battery is not valid... but I don't know how that happened. I've only had my Helix for about 2 months now.

I am facing lots of problem with my new Lenovo Yoga 730 . Almost everyday, I get "Battery Plugged in and not charging" and after lots of manuvers ( reinstalling drivers, restarting, replugging and sometimes praying...) it begins charging. I don't know what works but the problem resolves itself for a day and it occurs again . I have been dealing with this for 2 weeks now.  When I take the charging cable off and replug it, it charges for exactly 5 seconds and goes back to "Not charging". My laptop is new (Bought in September this year). I have also got remote assistance for this problem, even reinstalled Windows.  Someone suggested me to buy a new cable. My cable looks good to me, it is not even bent at any place.  Is the laptop faulty? I have never faced so many problems with a new laptop. Please help. Thanks

Hi all,

Tried to give all the info in the subject. Here are the details. :)

It's an old HP ZD7380US, it's been stored and unused for the last 4 years. A week ago, I decided to bring it back to life as a media center.

Formatted it, reinstalled XP MCE2005, always plugged. At a certain time, I decided to move with the laptop, and wondering how the battery was on it, I decided to take the plug off. I was working in safe mode, and it lasted 2.5 hours. I was really surprised.

But I was even more surprised when, the day after, I decided to move with it in regular mode. After 2mn, it alerted me the battery was low, and after another minute, it hibernated.

Both experiences have been repeated with the same result...

Any idea?

Thanks,

Simo

I've bought this Z40 70 laptop in 2015. It's been charging fine until June 2018, not sure what happened all of a sudden it just stopped charging at 1 or 2 percent even after charging for hours. It just goes off the moment i remove the Adapter pin.Initially i thought the battery has gone and looked for replacement, but could not do so being in tour and so used my laptop by directly plugging the adapter. But after i came back, just thought of looking for replacement battery and googled for it, later i came to know this is something else and not the battery issue. Then i looked fr the solutions and tried as below.   I even tried to uninstal and reinstal the drivers of adapter and battery but the problem remains same, further i tried to update BIOS, but cld not do so as it saks the battery to be 30%, find pic attached, help me out at the earliest, thanks in advance.

A:My Lenovo Z40-70 Battery not charging, shows plugged in but stuck at 1%,

Hi rennaveen,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If you have tried the steps mentioned here, them you can proceed following the hardware manual (page 21) for checking operational charge.

Using the battery indicator LED as reference, we expect that it shows amber (the battery has between 5% and 20% charge). Without powering the laptop, have it connected to the charger for 2-3 hours and notice if the battery indicator light would change to blinking white (battery has between 20% and 80% charge) then solid white (80%).

If there is no change then perhaps you can have it checked with any local service center to test the battery integrity first.

Update us ow it goes.

Hello Lenovo community, My laptop is saying its plugged in and charging. But my battery percentage isnt going up. After noticing this, I updated all my drivers, restarted my laptop, updated my windows and nothing seems to be working. My laptop would be dead for about a couple days, I would charge it and the issue was resolved but its happening again.  Does anyone know a solution? Hi @Stehler,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

How many battery percentage do you have? Does the laptop shut down when you unplugged the charger? If it is stuck with 50-60 percent, then we would suggest to turn off the conservation mode in Lenovo Vantage.

Hope this helps.

Hi!I got a battery problem: my Lenovo G51-35 is plugged in, but it doesn´t charge my battery and the battery goes down everyday by 1%. Now it´s 5%!What I gotta do?

A:Lenovo G51-35 plugged in, doesn´t charge and battery % decreases

Hi Kevinottokoit,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The hardware manual provides the steps for check operational charging that you can perform her in page 21-22.

Taking note of the same battery indicator (I am expecting that is is blinking amber for less 20% charge), keep the computer powered off and connect the ac charger for 2-3 hours without turning it on. We are expecting the battery indicator to go from amber to white to know if the battery does charge.

Other wise you may want to check a known good battery to test the machine or use the same battery on another compatible model to verify if the battery really needs to be replaced.

I hope this helps answer your query.
Update us how things go.

My Lenovo G710 works fine when it is plugged in and the battery is removed. With the battery installed and the AC adapter plugged in, the battery isn't charging. Note that I do NOT get the message "Plugged in and not charging" from Windows when I hover the mouse over the battery level indicator. Rather, there is no indication that the laptop is plugged in at all. The battery level indicator does not have the plug icon on it. However, as mentioned before, if I remove the battery completely and plug the laptop in with the AC adapter, the machine works fine. After the battery was completely dead (the machine wouldn't even turn on with the battery installed), I tried leaving the laptop plugged in with the battery installed overnight with the machine turned off. The next morning, I started the machine, and the battery level indicator in Windows showed the battery level at 1%.  Is this most likely a problem with the motherboard, the battery, the AC adapter, or something else?

The rest of the notebook still turns on and the power button is lit, but the screen will stay black even if I move the mouse or press any keys. I have to do a manual shutdown and then turn it on again, which works but then the problem occurs again when it goes to sleep mode. I've updated the drivers and disabled the notebook from going to sleep, but if I manually put it into sleep mode the problem continues. I've seen this as a common issue regarding Windows 10 as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

A:Lenovo Edge 2-1580 won't wake up after sleep mode

I just resolved this issue recently with my Flex 3 1580, so hopefully my solution works for you.  First, update the video/graphics driver (intel or nvidia) from the Drivers & Software page on support.lenovo.com.  Test sleep mode again.  If the screen is still not turning back on, then update your BIOS.  Back on the Drivers & Software page, look for the latest BIOS update and run it.  In both cases, but especially for the BIOS update, make sure your laptop is plugged in.

Hey all! I've been sporting my Lenovo Edge 15 for about two years now. I run Windows 10 and have done so since I first got the computer (I believe when I purchased it I upgraded right away). If you need more specifics I have this PC right here! Airplane mode works if I manually activate it via the wi-fi settings, but the hotkey, F7, won't turn it on/off.  The key doesn't appear to be broken, just the hotkey function it carrys, as using Fn activates the basic F7 function. All my other hotkeys work perfectly. Anyone have the same issue? Know of a fix?

A:Lenovo yoga 720-12ikb battery decline when charger is plugged in?

Define "decline." What percentage to what percentage. If it's 100-95, that's by design. If it's around 60, you may have battery conservation mode engaged. At least I THINK that's available on the 720.  If you're down to 20% and it's not charging, then there's a problem.

Have had a Flex 5 1470 for 2 weeks and today for several hours I ran into this issue where whether it was connected to power or working on battery power I could use the laptop only for around 3-4 minutes before it woud unexpectatly shut off (literally an immediate BLACK screen). I could then power it back on and continue to work for another 3-4 minutes before this would happen again. I downloaded a CPU thermometer and heating was not the issue (was operating well below the operating temperature for the i7).  Any ideas of what was going on? What might have caused this issue and more importantly how to resolve this issue? Your feedback is appreciated!

I have a Lenovo Flex 3 1480 with Intel I7.  I was getting a message that says "plugged in charging" but the battery charge was staying at 60% and not increasing. Lenovo techs said the battery must be bad so I ordered and installed a new, Lenovo brand battery.  I get the same condition... placing the cursor over the battery symbol gives a status message of "40% available, plugged in, charging" but the battery charge never increases, even after shutting off the computer down and leaving it plugged in overnight. The laptop was a year old and therefore out of warranty last November, 2016. HELP!

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545 laptop with Win7 pre-installed.

Had it about 5 days, and just tried to boot F8 Safe Mode.

It refuses to acknowledge the F8 key and boot into the Safe Mode menu screen.

According to Microsoft website, F8 is supposed to work in Win7.

Is this a known bug in my hardware?  In Win7?

Or, I hope not, is my Windows installation corrupted?

A:F8 Safe Mode does not work, Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545

Are you tapping the f8 key repeatedly or just one time . . .

If msconfig is working you could just use it to force safe mode on the next reboot.

I just purchased a ThinkPad P52 20M9 with an Intel 660p 1GB SSD running.  Since I use mostly when AC is plugged in, I wanted to save the battery by detaching it. My AC outlet is a normal home outlet that supports at least 1000Watts. Also I turned on Airplane Mode to just have a taste. And then all starts to behave weird: When I removed the battery, the P52 boots and windows could be logged in. However it only lasts seconds and then shuts off.  When I turn off the Airplane Mode, turning on without battery would behave well - nothing wrong would happen. However, turning on Airplane Mode in Lenovo Vintage without a battery would 100% shut off the computer immediately.  What is wrong with this? Isn't it supposed to run perfectly without battery attached? Please help.

So I have a Lenovo laptop that untill a few days ago was working just fine. It was a little slow but nothing to worry about. Now i cant even start up windows normally. When I try and start up in normal mode it just gives me a black screen with a courser. A friend of mine had me download Hamatchi and I was stupid enough to just accept everything... -_- and my computer didn't like it.

A few thing that I know that I have on my computer are tubedimmer and scorpion server saver and a whole lot of PUP.conduit stuff. I know that they are bad for my computer and I had taken measures in my own hands before I came across this forum.  I ran Microsoft  Security Essentials and Malwearbytes and Malwearbytes turned up with all of the PUP.conduit things and MSE came up clean.
I have CCleaner but have yet to run that as I don't think that an of these are going to work to well when I can only run them in safe mode. :/

If there is anything you want me to do or any suggestions for me on where to start I would love to hear them.

P.S I work at bestbuy and a few of my coworkers told me that Im kind of screwed and that I would have to reformat or wipe my whole computer and install everything over again....that would be my last resort if I have to.

A:Lenovo Comp wont boot in normal mode

Hi -
Do you mean Hamachi ?? Rather than Hamatchi ??

In Safe Mode only you will have problems - Try for Safe Mode with Networking -

First -
Download Security Check by Screen317 from HERE
* Save it to your Desktop.
* Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
* Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
* A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.Note: If a security program requests permission to access the Internet, allow it to do so.

Next -
Download MiniToolBox, Save it to your desktop and run it.
Close any Firefox browsers you may have open
Checkmark the following boxes:
•Flush DNS
•Report IE Proxy Settings
•Reset IE Proxy Settings
•Report FF Proxy Settings
•Reset FF Proxy Settings
•List content of Hosts
•List IP configuration
•List last 10 Event Viewer log
•List Installed Programs
•List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
•List Minidump Files
Click Go and copy / paste the result (Result.txt).

Next try this as it will run in Safe Mode -
Please download Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop.
There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

I just got my Lenovo ideapad Y700 everything was working fine until updating Lenovo settings and windows 10. The battery now only charges to 98% and continues to say charging. Tried to open up Lenovo settings to see if I could change the battery settings to fix the problem. Now the settings won't stay open it just closes 5-30 seconds after I open it. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, still has the problem. Any thoughts?
