https pages will load, http pages will not load

Q: https pages will load, http pages will not load

The only pages Internet Explorer 8 will load are those that start with https. Anything that starts with http gives a message that says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Any suggestions?

Preferred Solution: https pages will load, http pages will not load

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: https pages will load, http pages will not load

This has been going on for weeks and Iv tried sooo many things. All the settings, deleting, reinstalling, system restore, shutting down security, bypassing router, checking for updates, some have downloaded the SSL certificate and ''reinstalled it''...I don't know how to do that but it didn't work for them anyway. Iv been trying to get tech ''support'' from the website, my isp etc. but to no avail. We can't load up a game anymore or visit any of their httpS pages. It's not just me, other users are having the exact same problem. so far as I can tell we all have satellite Internet but different providers, not sure if everyone with satellite has the same problem or not. I have wildblue thru dishnetwork. up until recently it worked fine.

For example on the website:

Returns an error for me no matter what browser I use.

Remove the S and the page loads but I can't thru to login because that's thru a secure page.

For the game launcher I can give you an example of what some users have done to ''get around'' the problem. When you try to launch the game it uses this:

This will not work, results in error. Now the ''get around'' launcher some people made uses the following url. Just taking off the S in https.

I suppose the title says it all, my computer has some sort of infection where every search in google in both firefox and internet explorer redirect the searches to random pages. Additionally, typing in certain addresses simply won't load where I know the page should work, such as certain links on microsoft.com. Furthermore, I have enabled Automatic Updates and it tells me that it is not enabled even though it clearly is in the settings and going to the update page through internet explorer simply does not work. I have read through various other forums here at bleepingcomputer.com and followed their instructions but nothing has fixed the problem so I figured I'd post as well and start fresh. A huge thanks in advance to whomever is able to help me out. So, where do I begin?

hello all

i have started noticing "hijacked pages,"

and that (so far, only when using "chrome," which is outdated - NOT by choice but because i am stuck with windows vista and GOOGLE will not longer support it...),

sometimes chrome will "hang" when attempting to perform operations such as "clear browsing data,

and then if i attempt to close chrome, it will make it so that system processes(?) such as my toolbar, ctrl+alt+del/task mgr, and restart will not work, forcing me to need to manually power off my computer,

and now as of today, most pages are not loading ("err_connection_failed" in chrome, but ALSO IN FIREFOX a lot of pictures in pages are not loading),

so i fear i have malware...

okay, here is the sysinfo readout:

Hi newbie here so go easy on me

My mum has a realtively newly built PC (about 2 weeks old), and has XP Professional installed along with Norton Antivirus 2003.

She is using dial-up internet with an external modem, and although her default homepage (bbc) loads straight away after that browsing becomes progressively slower and slower. Some pages do not load up at all after a while and she is forced to turn off her connection and try again. She cannot access any secure sites at all (for her internet banking and buying things). She has cleared her cache to no avail.

I have been told to see if a firewall is blocking secure ports 443, 84 and/or 8443. I'm not sure how to check that? I'm not even sure she has a firewall installed at all?

Should she try Mozilla Firefox? Should I install Norton?

I've checked her dialup internet provided (lineone/tiscali) and there appears to be no problems?

Help :grinthumb

A:IE 6 very slow loading pages and won't load secure pages

When you say they won't load, what exactly happens? Does it give an error message of any kind or just hang on a blank page?

When I start up my computer I can navigate normally for exactly 10 minutes.
After that point in time I can only navigate to https or ftp sites, but any http URL returns "page cannot be displayed".
I've already tried netsh winsock reset catalog, netsh int ip reset reset.log, uninstalled & reinstalled WLAN and Network adapters.
Same result with IE and Firefox.
Created new local user on PC, same result.
Searched registry for "timeout", "600", "600000" (seconds and milliseconds) - no joy.

When connecting from the office, I get no internet connection at all when using auto detect or auto proxy script (works fine for others) but when using a proxy for the LAN on port 8080, problem does not manifest itself, ie. I can navigate to http pages at all times.

Current workaround from home - connecting via VPN tunnel to corporate network, then use the proxy to go out to Internet (in this scenario both, auto detect and autoproxy script, work just fine).

So I guess something is blocking port 80 on my laptop 10 minutes after reboot, but WHAT?
Any hint would be highly appreciated.

Our users have IE 7 and 8. We keep them locked into place by pointing IE to our firewall product (tools > internet options > connections > lan settings), so that only approved sites are the ones that our people can access. In the last few days, several of them report issues with specific websites loading very slowly - load times of over an hour just to get the log-in screen to appear.Troubleshooting Steps:1.) Unchecked the "use proxy server for your LAN" under the IE menus---> Site resolves instantly, as it should---> This pointed me to the direction that perhaps the site wasn't configured for our firewall2.) Re-checked the "use proxy server" box, and specifically configured the site in our firewall---> Site continues to resolve slowly, with the same load times as before performing step 1That would normally indicate that the problem is on the vendor's end. Something may be wrong with their site. And that's the line of thought I was pursuing until I was reported back to that the users are having the same problem on other websites. These new websites they're having problems with are, and have been for a long time, configured properly in the firewall.I'm not sure what my next step is to pursue. What am I looking for now? I don't know enough about networking to figure out where to track next.

A:Users are unable to load websites - no error, just 1-hour+ load times for pages

I've just started having this problem and its killing me.

I have 2 computers. My server is running windows 2000 server, and the secondary computer is running xp Pro.

The internet was working fine on my secondary computer, and then one day, it just started becoming slow, and it would not load pages (images wouldn't fully load, some pages wouldn't load at all). If i type in a url in the address bar for IE it would load the page quickly (probably from cache), but then proceeding to click links would cause "Page not found" or "timed out" errors.

I know that i can reach these sites, i ping them and get normal responses. It seems that IE is just not displaying them properly or something. The internet on my server computer works perfectly fine.

I have 2 nic cards in the server computer, 1 recieving the cable modem, and one receiving a LAN cable from my Hub.

Anybody have any ideas? Like i said, it worked on my secondary cmputer before. Also, i hooked up another computer to my hub and the internet was working fine, and then i installed Service Pack 3 and it started crapping out like mentioned above.

This is driving me NUTS!! ahhh. please help.

Try running a ping to the sites that have trouble loading to see what kind of connection times you are looking at. I would also run a tracert to those sites to see if there are any places dropping the connection.

Just started two-days-ago. Mozilla and IE 6.0.2900. I did a system restore back for two weeks to no avail as "nothing changed."

Mozilla and IE, through Mozilla, either takes long to load or no load. If it does load does so without .gifs or some links. Some links are broken. Some will load the login page fine then freeze on the next page.

The perplexing part is that it affects only a few pages but not the whole site: my hompage, Nasdaq.com; ebay.com (after the login page), espn.com takes a while, 240 sec, to load then only partially load.

Network fine, signal strength fine, I've killed Symantec, no difference. Switched to Windows firewall, no difference. Killed Adblock, no diff. Ran Spyware Doc, nothing; NAV scan, nothing.

I'm lost. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks in advance.

Ive been having the same problem. Im with Virgin and they were useless with the advice they gave. Try reinstalling your modem. My line has recently been upgraded to 8.1meg from 2.2 and i think the modem hasnt quite got the hang of it being this quick yet. It seems to work for a while but my line keeps changing. At first it ran at 7.6 and the problems with pages started so i reinstalled the drivers from the disk and it shot straight upto 8.1. Its been a pain for the past few days with some sits(even my homepage of Virgin) so i reinstalled it again and all the pages now come up.

Do you have more then 1 computer connected to your modem/router? If so, does this happen on them? If not, can you connect a separate one (ex: friend's laptop) to test?

Normally when you get errors like this it's best to rule out a problem at the modem/router and provider before going crazy over trying to fix a problem (that may not exist) on your PC(s).

Also just a couple of other questions:

Who is your internet provider (ISP)?
What connection type do they use (Cable/DSL/Fiber/Fixed Wireless/Mobile Wireless)?
What is the make and model of your router and modem?

A:Doesn't Always Connect And Pages Don't Always Load Or Load Right

Sorry for the delay, this forum is very busy right now.

There is a program from a company called SearchHelp, Inc. on this computer. Sentry at Home or Sentry Remote. From the information I can gather on the Internet, this is a legitimate application aimed at allowing parents control over their children's web surfing habits. Judging by some of the lines in this log it uses a proxy server and several other techniques to filter internet content. This might explain why you have trouble connecting to some web sites.

If you are the owner of this computer and installed this program, I would suggest disabling it temporarily to see whether your problems persist.

Whether they do or not, post a fresh HijackThis log along with the results of this test.

There are twenty or thirty sites I visit regularly.

Recently I've been having some problems. Some sites I can visit like normal, but some sites I can't. I get "cannot find server" errors.

I cannot visit 9/10 websites on the internet because of this.

I have run Search & Destroy, Spyware Doctor, HouseCall, HijackThis, and the virus scanner on pcpitstop.com. I've run some of those in Safe Mode as well.

I cannot ping a website with cmd, but if someone else gives me the ip for a site url I can't visit, and i put the ip in the address bar, it will work like normal.

I've tried using IE and FireFox. I'm currently running FireFox (on XP) because I'm concerned about the security of IE during this problem.

I've done a system restore to before the problem but it didn't help.

There are three computers in my house, two of them are affected, one isn't. So I don't think this is an ISP issue, but I could be mistaken.

Is anyone out there familiar with this problem?

Keep in mind that any links or such you provide me I will most likely not be able to follow, because the page likely won't load. If you suggest I download something please provide a direct link to the zip/exe file.

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone. I've got a very strange problem that just began happening out of no where. When browsing the net I can no longer go to websites such as www.zone.com, I can only check my e-mail when I'm lucky and the website decides to load without displaying "the page cannot be displayed" error message. More than half of the images on everyone webpage display as not loadable little X marks, even on this website. When attempting to open random websites after searching on google for example, more than 3/4 of the web pages I click on give me the "page cannot be displayed" msg instantly without even trying to load. This problem just began recently out of no where. Windows firewall has always been off and never had problems untill now. I run Aluria Security Center and have never had problems. I also have tried adding these sites to my trusted list and it does absolutely nothing. Hope you guys can give me a solution. Thanks ahead of time.

My computer is doing the same thing. Out of nowhere, there's a whole ton of webpages that don't work. I went to read my comics yesterday morning and Yahoo news didn't load. A few days ago I noticed that some of webpages weren't loading correctly. It was shortly after updating Java. Web pages that I visited like Yahoo, Adobe, and Facebook started to load plain text (no graphics of any sort). The Microsoft site wouldn't load at all until I read instructions somewhere on this forum about enabling secure sites. Most other sites loaded perfectly so I figured it had to be some sort of malware that was blocking me from certain sites. I ran a lot of scans using several anti-malware and anti-virus programs. I ended up finding about 3 trojans that were removed. That didn't solved my problem though. I got fed up and decided to reformat my computer hoping that whatever was wrong with it would get fixed, it didn't. Since I formatted my computer I tried updating Windows but I kept getting an error: "WindowsUpdate_8024402C". Wouldn't work in Normal mode even after I followed the instructions given to solve the error. Figured I'd give it a shot in Safe Mode with Networking, but it still doesn't work. Now I can't access the Microsoft website again. *sigh* I've tried pinging it but my requests keep getting timed out.

After reformatting I uninstalled all the bloatware, and reinstalled updated versions of Java, Adobe Flash Player, and Shockwave (thru majorgeeks as I couldn't download them directly from their sites). I've ran more scans but nothing comes up. I'm thinking maybe there's something wrong with my winsock2 but I'm not touching it O_o. I forgo... Read more

Hey Guys!

So, I've run into a bit of a problem. For the past couple of days my Internet Connection seems to be acting strange.
Sometimes i can load pages almost instantly, for example google or wikipedia, and a minute later i have a loading time of above 30 seconds for the same page.
On the other Hand, when I start a large Download and it has to run for an hour or more, it wont abort, even when I can't connect to other Websites in the meantime.

The weird thing is that this happens on every Device in my Network. I've done a ping test in this little "downtime" and half the packages timed out.
Wireshark shows that somehow I keep sending out packages but for like 15 - 20 seconds I get no response at all.

I really don't know what to make of this and would appreciate some help^^
Thanks in Advance!

The title says it all! Basically, I've been using AdFender (which I believe was recommended by this site) and it was working great. However, it seems that certain sites (like google and youtube) will only load as an https now, even if I'm logged out of the account. AdFender doesn't work on https sites, so now I'm bombarded with commercials and banner ads on videos: It's absolutely terrible!
So, can anyone either:
1. Recommend an adblocker that works on https sites?
2. Tell me how to run sites that default to https as an http?

Okay, I'll be completely honest here. I have little to no knowledge of computers, but I happen to really like having mine functional. It's been messing up for a few weeks ever since I made a really stupid decision about downloading something I shouldn't have. We worked on it for about three hours last night, and finally got three Trojans and a tracking cookie off... And everything is great, except for one thing.

There's certain pages - MySpace, Gmail (I had to get on my mom's computer to activate my account for this site), etc, that just WON'T LOAD. They'll load for two minutes or six hours, and the screen is the same - the white screen that usually only shows up for about three seconds. I've gotten my stepdad to look at it, and he helped to get it working again, other than the sites that stubbornly refuse to load. I asked for help on a tech support forum on LiveJournal, and that didn't really help.

So I'm hoping someone here can XD Seriously. If you can help me with this, I'll worship the ground you walk on or something.

Edit: I'm also sure that it's not the connection. My mom's computer works just fine, loading every single page she wants to look at. So does my dad's, on the completely separate network from my mom's. It's mine that's being stupid.

A:cant load web pages

Several items you should do and check.
1) Go to IE\tools\Internet Options and delete Temp Internet Files
and make sure the delete all offline content switch is enabled.
2) Go to IE\tools\Internet Options\security tab and make sure your system security is set to default.
3) Lastly while still in the security section make sure you do not have Lycos.com set as a restricted site under restricted sites\settings.

Note: If you have a firewall installed on the upstairs computer make sure the site is not resrticted.

Keep us posted on you progress.

I am trying to help my little nephew fix his computer. It has Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Sp3. It also has Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security. It is a "hand me down" computer so nobody really remembers or knows what the heck happened to this little computer. He was complaining about IE crashing on him. I saw an Icon that says "Anti Malware Doctor" but there is no application associated with it. It seems like it has been removed.
I worked on it for about an hour. At first it seemed to me like it was working fine, IE was not crashing on me but then it did, all icons in the desktop disappeared and also the taskbar. Ctrl+Alt+Del did not work either so I did a hard reboot.
I installed Google Chrome and downloaded IE8. Now IE does not open some pages specially those in which we can get help against malware. For example Bleepingcomputer. IE opens the page but then "A problem with this page caused IE to close and reopen this tab" shows from the top of the tab and then IE gives me this message.

"We were unable to return you to bleepingcomputer.com.

Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website. It appears that the website continues to have a problem.
What you can do:
Go to your home page

Try to return to bleepingcomputer.com"

And also some other sites. I was trying to open several different sites such as ebay, my hotmail, etc. and they open fine but they also crash every now and then.

I downloaded Hij... Read more

This is happening with FireFox and IE7.

I cannot load GMail, my bank site, Mozilla Add-ons, and other various links I've come across.

The page tries to load, and then eventually just times out and says page load error.

Again, this has been happening with both IE7 and Gmail.

A:I cannot load certain pages

What is the website that you are trying to get to when you go to Gmail. Because, I bet that it has something to do with the fact that the pages are https://, not http://.

I would go into your preferences, and then go to privacy, from there click on settings in the private data section. Then, click on the settings button. This will show all the areas that will be deleted if you clear your private data. Make sure that Authenticated Sessions has a check mark next to, and anything else that you want deleted, then hit ok. Next click on the clear now button. There might be a warning box that pops up asking you if you are sure that you want to do this, just click yes, or ok, and it will clear the data.

Once that is done try to get to gmail or your bank site again, and see if you can reach it.

So I've been having a strange problem in the past 24 hours. Whenever I try to load certain web pages, I just get a "Waiting for <website>..." message in the lower left corner of the browser, and it doesn't do anything else... In specific, I've been able to get to google.com, but not execute certain searches (i.e. "bacon" and "final" work fine, for example, but "hats" and "support" do not); also, I can't access and part of Facebook save for www.facebook.com/home.php? (but the Facebook chat module fails to load). I've also been unable to access my Yahoo email, with my.yahoo.com loading sometimes, and other times just giving me the continuous "waiting" message.

The same problems also occur when using Internet Explorer. I have the latest version of both browsers, and just a few hours ago did a Spyware Doctor scan-and-clean, but to no avail.

Any help?

A:Cannot load certain web pages

Go into safe mode with networking. If you can view pages ok there, then I would say there is something running in the background causing the problems. Perhaps run a full spyware/antivirus scan in safe mode too. hope this helps!!

I've recently started having a problem where pages on certain websites won't load. One of the sites is the "Tech Support Guy" (I am writing this on my wife's computer, which is connected via an Ethernet connection to the same router as my computer, so I don't think it is a network problem.) I can get to the Forums page but when I click on a thread it won't load. No error messages, no dialog boxes,--the window just goes blank and the progress bar goes part way and then stops. The same with E-Bay--home page then category page but no individual listings. Yet other sites load instantly and I can navigate them perfectly.
I'm running Windows Me, IE5.5, ZoneAlarm 4.5, PC-cillin, PestPatrol and have run scans with these plus Ad-Aware, SpyBot S&D and SpySweeper-- all currently updated. Neither of these sites are on my firewall or AV blocked sites list. and I don't remember downloading anything recently (although my memory is sketchy,at best!).
I've exhausted my meager store of knowledge, does anyone have any ideas?

Whenever I try going on certain websites I either get an error message or nothing happens (depending on the web browser) but it doesn't work on any of them. The sites work on other computers that are connected to the same modem. Some of the websites are: http://www.gaiaonline.com and other ones that I can't remember right now. That's the only one I ever use anyway.

When using Internet Explorer 11 I have a problem accessing some websites, I am often unable to go any further than the website homepage, for instance when using internet banking, After I log into an account it?s here where the problem happens, I try to open a page within my account but nothing happens. This problem is not just bank sites, it can happen on others as well but not so often, however some websites give no problem whatsoever.
I have tried Internet Explorer 9 and 10 but it?s just the same, I have changed security settings to no avail and have disabled and uninstalled add-ons, including Adblock Plus. Maybe it?s an HTTP, HTTPs issue
There is no problem when using Firefox.

I recently did a clean reinstall because I had some Win 7 niggles, including this Internet Explorer problem. I thought I?ll do a reinstall that?ll sort it out, it was okay for a couple of days but then the trouble returned again.

I am using Win 7 home premium 64 bit and Microsoft?s Security Essentials and Windows Firewall.

Another thing that may or may not be related to this problem is an issue with Thunderbird.
I try to send an email to 17 address?s but they won?t send, nothing happens, again I have tried just about everything, uninstalling, reinstalling older Thunderbird versions, changing security settings.
What I have discovered however is that after I reduced the emails from 17 to 11 everything was okay, most strange!

Hi. Hmm. interesting.. Do you have to use IE?
becouse i suggest not IE is one of the worst browsers in the world for a reason
I got a weird problem where my Firewall blocked all HTTP and HTTPS sites. So everything without that worked flawlessly but when trying to access a HTTP or HTTPS site it was like someone dragged the handbrake.
So look into the firewall and se what it is doing,
Stop using IE and use Firefox or Chrome.
If the firewall doesent work then tell me

Hello all, This is my mums computer im trying to fix.

Right, Where to start.
My mums Vista system REFUSES to work in ANY way but thats another story.
The problem is the internet atm, I can get it to connect to the wireless fine and show its connected. Everything SEEMS in order but internet explorer and firefox refuse to load pages. Heres what ive tried:

The DNS Cache reset thing with the batch file
Reinstalled out of date anti-virus and scanned, got nothing, checked the adapters, fine
reinstalled browsers, nothing
checked win firewall, avast, etc. Same settings as mine on WIN7, Nothing
Everything has an address egNS,Gateway,IP
Updated to SP1, nothing
Downloaded and installed driver updates from Toshiba, Nothing

Ive done EVERYTHING I possibly can and it still doesnt work, It connects fine through both LAN and Wireless but both wont load any pages which I guess means its not the laptop itself.
Ive gone into device manager and it shows on the network and sharing centre its local only connection, IPv4 is showing internet, IPv6 limited. The small map shows connection between laptop and router, but a red X between router and internet, That wasn't there before so it keeps changing. It's driving both me and my mum nuts, I was up till 6AM yesterday trying to fix it doing all this stuff to no avail. My mum is irate that she even bothered buying a vista system cus she spent a hell of alot on here Toshiba Equium
Is there anything I can do to sort this please? It can't be the interne... Read more

All of a sudden I was unable to use ie 6. IE would only open to a blank browser page and would not accept any input from me. In short I could not access any web page using IE 6.

I do have email though.

I had to install Firefox to access the web and d/l a fresh copy of ie 6.0. This proved to be useless as the same problem was still there. Tried installing I.E. 7 -same problem, blank browser page.

I would be happy to continue with Firefox but there are some sites that will only work with I.E. which are of importance to me.

Thanks in advance.

I've been having this problem for about a day now. Whenever I try to load the normal sites I'd go to they won't load and I'll get the error saying: "Server not found". I've run malwarebytes, AVG free, and bitdefender free, but still can't load these sites. For a while I even had a problem loading this website. For example I'll get the server not found error if I try to load youtube, wikipedia, hotmail, thedownload site for hijackthis, combofix, avast, and other sites that I could download antivirus programs from.
Has anyone else experienced this? I could really use some help.

Certain web pages just stopped loading for me a couple of days ago. The ones I can think of are: microsoft.com, myspace.com, aol.com, gamefaqs.com, mcafee.com, mapquest.com. It's a bit annoying because my girlfriend loves myspace and I can't update my antivirus. I can't think of any changes that were made to the computer to cause it to start doing this.

I saw the sticky at the top of the forum about windows update 908531, so I uninstalled it as there were no instructions (unless they were in a link) about how to fix the problem. But, uninstalling that didn't fix the problem.

I have Windows XP Pro. I use Mozilla Firefox (though the pages won't load in IE either). If any additional information is needed, I'd be happy to provide it. Thanks a ton for any help.

I've also updated and run SpyBot and it didn't find anything.

all i get is a loading symbol and a blank white page. Firefox tends to lag when they are loading and it sometimes stops other pages from loading as well.

I have tried clearing the cache, clearing cookies and checking the 'hosts' file.

The two websites are:

Not a PC/MS newbie, but this one has got me really stumped

Not absolutely certain right now what the hardware profile is, as I don't have access to the system directly, but it's an AMD processor (around a 1200) on a mobo with a Crush chipset - I'll do my best to find out more tomorrow

No hotfixes have been applied for a while (at least six months; the last time I was there) - There's no Internet connection as the machine is stand-alone

A client/friend installed the redistributable non-WGA IE7 on their XPSP2 system this evening

Everything seemed to go according to plan, but IE will not load pages saved locally - As there's no Internet connection I can't get them to test whether the problem occurs with online sites as well

Sometimes it does nothing for a few moments then states that it can't connect; other times it freezes altogether; others it doesn't launch at all; yet other times it appears to launch then immediately winks out of existence

I've had them uninstall and re-install it at least three times (maybe four) and after each uninstall, IE6 loads the pages as expected

As soon as they reinstall IE7, it won't open pages again

Both Firefox 1.5.x and 2.0.x load the same pages without a problem

Does anyone have a clue what is going on?

Remember how the punks told us there was no future?

... Well, this is it

[Chrome, although probably other browsers too]
This is a problem that has recently been happening very often (about 1-2 times a day) for me.

So basically, I'm happily surfing on the internet and all, until suddenly when I try to load new pages, it gives me a "page not found" error. However, the strangeness does not stop there. When I am on my gmail, for instance, I can still access my email, and I can actually talk to other people! I can even edit various google docs that I have already opened. But the one thing I cannot do is to open new pages.

Restarting my computer typically temporarily fixes the problem, but I'm interested in a solution that ideally permanently fixes this problem, but a tempfix that is less of a hassle than performing a full restart would be nice too.

When I pinged google.com, it successfully reached there with no packets lost.

A:Cannot load new pages

You should check the sites with other browsers and if it's only with Chrome then this article could help.

If it's on all browsers then rebooting the router could resolve.

just like the title says. I just randomly started having this problem where I can't load some webpages. I use chrome but I've tried other browsers too and have the same problem. I just recently restored my computer to default using an image I made when I first got the computer and I'm still having the same problem. I know it's not my firewall because I've tried disabling it. I should also be virus free since I just re-did my computer.

Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I just recently posted here about having this problem where I could pick up a signal from my router but could not connect. All my other computers could but not this one. I fixed the problem by telling it to forget that network then reconnecting and entering the password again. Just letting you guys know in case the problems are related since my current problem started after that.

Lastly whenever I get help for PC related problem I like to make sure people know that I'm not super tech savvy. I'm not Tech challenged but if you want me to try something please include instructions. That is all.

Hi. When using both Internet Explorer and Firefox I keep finding that certain pages refuse to load, or certain parts of pages (e.g. I get a menu at the top and nothing else). If I keep pressing F5 it will eventually load or sometimes I have to click back. I'm using Vista, IE7 and FF 3.6.23.

When using Firefox I also keep getting random windows pop-up, usually with a list of ebay or amazon items in a table filling the screen or an advert. I have pop-ups blocked and it's not on specific sites, it just opens the windows randomly whenever I've clicked in a text box on a site.

I also have a third problem that only seems to happen on the Internet though I'm not sure if it's an Internet browser related problem. When I right click to open a new window/tab, refresh or anything else it leaves a faded box of the thing I just clicked and the only way I can get rid of it is by logging out and back in. It doesn't happen everytime, but it happens at least a few times a day.

Anyone have any ideas what is causing any of these problems and how I can solve them?

However, my IE is now VERY SLOW.
Actually, pages won't even load. For example, it lets me go on myspace, but won't let me log in. The page just won't load.
I don't know how to fix this. Maybe the virus is still in my computer or something.
