Lenovo idea pad 110 unable to exit boot menu

Q: Lenovo idea pad 110 unable to exit boot menu

I've been using my lenovo idea pad 110 perfectly fine for a few months until a few moments ago my my desktop crashes and is not responding stating "windows is not responding". I decided to force shut down and restart which led to the problem. After i start my laptop , it is always stuck on the boot menu and which ever keys i pressed it will Refresh back to the boot menu. I tried pressing the "novo" button and enter system recovery and other options but all lead back to the boot menu again? I require assistance to fix this issue and request anyone more knowledgable to assist me in this issue.Thank you very much!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Doesn't matter how I try to start the system ( Novo button or normally) I get a boot menu eith 3 options - PCI LAN: EFI NeteorN (IPv4),PCI LAN: EFI NeteorN (IPv6) and Windows Boot Manager. All return to the same boot menu.  Earlier I had allmost the same, as the Novo button worked, and all options returned to same boot Manu but the bios setup, where I changed boot options to default.

My new Lenovo T570 always fail to boot/startup normally. When i press the power button to start the laptop, it will display a page showing the following: "Lenovo", "To interrupt normal startup, press enter". This page will remain displayed permanently. This problem was noticed few days after i launched the laptop. I thought it would resolve on its own but it became worse. Now when i pres the power button, it will either display the above page or it will show the boot menu/app menu page. Please what might be the cause and the possible solution?. Thanks.

Win 7x64
Acer-5251
Everything seems to be working fine, but as the title suggests, when i tap F8 the Advanced boot options DO appear, but when i engage "Repair Windows" it just goes into a normal boot. Ive tried booting from my installation CD that i've purchased from Acer, but does nothing. And Yes My CD Drive is working, as well having this set as top priority in BIOS and CD is in good condition.

In addition to this, ive tried using the "Advanced Recovery options" from within Windows itself but when i go to click restart computer, i get an error message, with red-x, stating windows is unable to restart.

Additional info that may be relevant, is that a few months ago, i had a friend work on my computer, because windows wouldnt boot at all. When My laptop was returned to me, everything was fresh, but there was missing programs etc...He said, he had to format the hard drive to get it up and running again.

Anyway i appreciate any help as to what i should i do next, or answer any questions you may have-Thank-you!

So when I turn on my lenovo u410 laptop I get this menu box up as seen below in a black background. I've played around with the menu and I get nothing. This has been happening for the past few days and usually it manages to get past this and start up normally. However today is the day it's decided to stay put and I have no idea what to do. This is very frustrating as I only bought the laptop less then 2 months ago. Please help!     It's windows 8 btw

Hi N_A,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Lenovo Community,

I?d like to guide you in a way to try to set the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) inside the BIOS to be the first priority booting order so we will try to return the BIOS to factory default settings:

Step1: Please turn off the machine and then at the left side you can see the NOVO button which is the button with the curve arrow

Step2: Press on the NOVO button and then you will get option press on BIOS Setup

Step3: Please press on FN+F9 together and then press Enter on Yes option and then FN+F10 to save and exit and then press Enter

Hope the information helps. Let us know.

Regards

Soha

Having problem with son's HP desktop.  When it boots, press the Esc key, get a boot menu. But ... unable to select ANY of the items.  Keyboard is not recognized when in this menu. Tried several different keyboards -- same symptoms on all. Also, despite having the CD/DVD device first in the boot order, when have bootable CD or DVD in the drive, see the text come up to press a key to boot from that device, but it does not boot from the disk, instead it puts up a message about booting from the system -- and once again, the keyboard(s) appear to be nonfunctional at this point. Product number: XX094AV Looked on the HP site to see if there is a BIOS update, but there is no BIOS listed. Could use some help on this. thanks

Hi, After couple of years of work my laptop ended in a boot menu. I see both windows boot manager & hdd listed. None of those options works. It just returns me back to the same selection screen. Diagnostic splash shows BIOS and GPU as shadowed. In a BIOS I cannot see the version. (All the settings are default). I tried to play with BIOS settings enabling\disabling legacy support, changing boot order, now I am trying to reset the BIOS by drainiing the battery.Yesterday my spouse was watching some movies and fell asleep while leaving laptop unplugged. After attaching power adapter it did not start up. However keyboard light worked. I did a hard reset and now I have the issue described above.I did not update neither the bios nor drivers. SSD seems to be working. I have an assumption that automatic update of the OS could start but then I should see Windows Logo at least. Please help to resolve this. Best regards,Dzmitry

Making a selection here does not seem to have any effect, and thus I'm unable to boot from USB. Startup settings in BIOS: Legacy Only, CSM [Yes]. Would be grateful if someone could give some pointers as to how to proceed. Thanks,

Hey guys, I have a Lenovo Y480 whose HDD is in the process of failing.  I just got a Samsung SDD, and put a bootable copy of Win10 onto a USB stick.  Problem now is that I can't figure out how to get the computer to boot from the USB stick.  I'm in the BIOS Setup right now, and I've been through the topics both on the Lenovo website, and through a couple of different links from Google.  I just can't find the options mentioned in either of those websites. I'm not sure where to go from here.  Anybody run into a similar problem?  Any ideas on how to get this computer to boot from the USB stick so that I can install a fresh Win10 onto the machine? Thanks for the help!

nvm, I just got it working. I had to disable UEFI in order to do it from the "Boot" menu in Setup. I'll re-enable it later to make sure I don't accidentally boot from a different USB stick later.

A:Lenovo G580 - Boot menu can not find CD/DVD, HDD, or USB's

Okay it seems i have resolved my own issue, i will report how and what i did so anyone with the same issue can try this. Okay so apparently the Bios were setup to only reqister boot devices that had something to do with Windows 8, meaning that the harddrive which was completely empty of any data, had nothing to do with Windows 8 and therefor can't be booted with the current Bios settings. 1. Go to the Security tap and disable "Secure boot" only temp.2. Go to the Boot tap and change "Boot mode" from UEFI to Legacy Support.3. In the Boot tap change "Boot prio" to "Legacy First".4. Reboot and press F2 and check the boot tap for the HDD under "Boot device prio"Done I think that since the HDD don't have Win8 installed it will not show as a boot device unless it is on Legacy Support.Becuz UEFI on the G580 only supports HDD with a installed Win8 OS. I should now be able to reinstall Win 8 - 8.1 to the HDD.

I would need to see it to be sure, but my guess is that the hard disk was logically damaged.  That means the boot record or partition information was wiped out.  It could also be a disk hardware error.  Do you have a backup?

Problem: When the computer is powered on it boots normally. However, all function keys or cmd keys to get into BIOS (F2), BOOT Menu (F8), Set up menu (F12) are disabled.

Possible Cause: Ransomware, I know for a fact my son installed a .exe file that put ransomware on his computer due to the HDD being locked and inaccessible. Also, when logging into his user he is prompted with the ransom log on by GoTLINKS.

Attempted Fixes: I've tried removing the HDD cables and booting in hopes of getting forced into the boot menu. Hi. I have a Lenovo P50 that after doing recent Windows 10 updates, it now is not booting properly. When it boots, it brings me to a boot menu that is completely empty. It does not detect the hard drives, any external usb/hard drives, external DVD, etc. from the boot menu. If I run a diagnostics, that detects the drives for example, and all results come back fine.  If I try to go in to the BIOS and edit anything in the boot order, that too shows nothing. Also, the network boot option shows nothing.  I cannot figure out why there are no boot options appearing and why I also cannot even boot of a USB if I wanted to.
