Hi, tried several times to update the Intel Graphics Driver V.20.19.15.4703 using Lenovo Companion for my ThinkCentre M600 in Windows 10 Professional. But it did not work corresponding to a message I get by Lenovo Companion. What can I do?

The newest Intel Video Driver that Lenovo Companion has made available (21.20.16.4678) has an issue ive found that wasnt present in the previous one, and is not present in a newer version (22.20.16.4718) installed automatically through Windows 10 after uninstalling the driver through "Add or remove programs". The bug is that certian (maybe all?) OpenGL applications seem slightly zoomed in. I tested this with Genymotion VM's, after the install of the new driver they all seemed to run as if the window border diddnt exist, clipping the edges of what is shown in the window (much more noticable at the top due to the title bar). Ive restored from backups and manually installed that driver from Lenovos driver download page for this system and the same issue occures. While its possible its an incompatibility with that software, it is not present in the newer drivers (this "new" driver is actually alwready old) so it might be worth pushing a newer driver.

I dont usually make updates, but when i do...I opened the Lenovo Companion and went for the drivers updates. There was 3 updates: WLAN (I think), Bluetooth, and a BIOS (4WCN29WW) update. I installed the lenovo programs needed to download the updates, as the Lenovo Companion recommended, and started updating the drives. At the BIOS update i was prompted that this update was for the Lenovo 300/500 series and proceeded. After the update, my notebook is not starting. It stops after the bios, windows gives this stopcode: "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE", restarts and tries to repair the initialization, wich doenst work. I searched here on the forums and found some tips: Enter the BIOS and switch to legacy support.It now enters the windows repair utility, but doesnt start. Windows restore point.Restore succesfull, but didnt work.Windows Initialization repair.Could not repair the initialization.CHKDSKNo problems found.  Notebook info:320-15IKB (Type 80XL, 80YE) Laptop (ideapad)Model 80YH0001BRWindows 10 (64bits) Please help me fix this... I have regualrly run a System Update for my computer via Lenovo Companion and I've managed to have all updates successfully completed - all except for one. Lately, I have runs of Updates where I encounter an update for Synaptic UltraNav Driver, run it, but comes up as being unable to download and install - in spite of a successful initial download. Since its encounter a couple of weeks ago, I have been unsuccessful in fully downloading and installing this specific Driver for my computer. Is there any indication of issues for this Drive? And what should I do to resolve it? Also, if the Driver can't be properly updated, what is its purpose for my system? Any form of help concerning this Driver update issue would be appreciated.

In Lenovo updates, says there's an update for Intel GTX graphics driver; does not update.  I have driver 20.19.55.4474 but Intel has a more recent version, but all I get is an error message to contact my manufacturer, but my warranty has expired.  Tried using device manager and telling it to update from Intel driver that I downloaded from their site but will not do it.  Any ideas?

Go to Intel | Data Center Solutions, IOT, and PC Innovation Click on Support/Download Drivers and finally automatically find drivers. This will require installing a small Intel update utility. Run that and it will list any applicable Intel drivers for your PC.

That is what I do for the Intel CPU/Video drivers for my i7 3770 CPU.

I have lenovo y70, this happens to me every day and it is irritating, it stops working even if i'm just using firefox and watching youtube videos, temperature of gpu is normal when this happens. I keep getting the VDR TDR Failure (igdkmd64.sys) error.  I open up the Intel Driver Update Utility & it states that it cannot update the driver.Error:  A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer.  The Intel Driver Update Utlity is not able to update the driver.  Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues.  Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer. I have  version 15.40.25.4463 of Intel Graphics Driver for Windows 10. How am I to update this driver?  This is extremely frustrating.  Why would you make a product that is difficult to update? JPaw

Recently Windows updated my Intel HD Graphics 630 driver. A few days later the same driver was released on Dell's driver support page.
Is there any correlation between Windows Update and Dell's drivers? Who does update the drivers Microsoft themselves or Dell needs to release the driver to Microsoft?
As this is the first time when Windows updated the driver is this how the Intel HD Graphics drivers are to be kept up-to-date via Windows Update?

Referring to the Intel HD graphics driver.
Windows gets code from Intel for the driver and they will implement it in the OS. Dell also gets code from Intel and will release it. Also, Intel will post the driver on their site to download. You can uninstall the Microsoft driver if you choose and install the Dell update driver.

To install Intel generci VGA drivers, you need to uninstall first the Acer/Intel drivers or you will be not able to do it.but...if you are under windows 10, keep in mind that it will try to re-install the Acer/Intel drivers over the generic drivers.

Hello,  I have an Ideapag y700 (I7-6700HQ; 16GB; NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 960M 4gb).  i got the laptop in january and for about 2 weeks 3D games worked well (tried with Dragon Age Inquisition and Football Manager 2017).  Then ... everything went wrong... And I could not get the games to open (I got various errors - Blue Screens).  I did however see that the problem is form the Intel graphics (it will not update - it remains with version 20.19.15.4474, even though on the Intel website there are a couple of updates available). I tried some updates but the computer keeps crashing.  Anyone has any clues as to what I can do ?  I'm attaching a dump file from FM 2017 game ...

The newest graphics drivers for the Thinkpad P50 contain Intel driver version 21.20.16.4550 (the latest available from the Support site). This version of the driver (as well as older versions) has a bug which causes Google Chrome to jitter when in full screen and moving the mouse around the page. (See http://crbug.com/672448 .) Intel has released a version of the drivers (21.20.16.4590) which is reported to fix this problem. I tried to install the updated driver from Intel, but the installer tells me that I can't because I need a driver version customized by Lenovo instead. Is there some way around that to install the new Intel driver? Will it hurt in any way to do that? Is there some way to get Lenovo to release a new set of drivers with the updates from Intel? Thanks!

One of my programs has been crashing recently and, after contacting the support team of the program, it seems like the issue is caused by my Intel graphics driver being out of date. Since HP does not update the driver automatically, support suggested downloading the most recent driver from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25978/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-15-36- . However, the installer wizard throws the notification that this driver is not installed for my machine. Is it safe to install the driver anyway, through the steps listed at the page mentioned above? If not, is there another procedure to update my driver to the latest version?

Does your notebook not have the NVIDIA GeForce 840M video solution installed?  Have you tried using that as the default graphics solution for the program that is crashing? I suggest downloading and installing the Intel driver from the following web page at Intel. My Acer V5 471T is running with 20.19.15.4444  Can I work around "a customised computer manufacturer driver is installed... update utility is not able to update..." Having issues in Guild Wars 1 with how players/characters are displayed on screen. I am getting many computer restarts with the warning: "Video Scheduling Error." I decided to update the video driver and tried twice, but cannot. The current graphics is an On Board, Intel HD Graphics 530, with a driver version 20.19.15.4326 with a date of 11/18/2015. At the HP site, I can download the driver with a newer date. But when I try to install it, says that the "Computer does not meet minimum requirements" and just stops and leaves me hanging ... twice. I have an Acer Aspire 5745 and it has Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I have Intel HD Graphics version 8.15.10.2104. I decided to upload it so I searched my laptop on Acer's site but they offer drivers for 64bit only so I downloaded drivers for another Acer model laptop (it uses the same drivers as my model does). I tried to install it but it says "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer".
So I decided to update my driver through device manager and I asked it to update from the folder where I had extracted the driver downloaded from Acer's site. But it says that your driver is up-to-date (it surely isn't).
Please help me, I need to update this driver for smooth gameplay.....

Have you tried the 64 bit version that Acer says is for your specific model? Many times drivers are for both 32 and 64 bit OS. You can also try the Intel site for your Intel chipset.

Proper game play isn't just the video driver. The PC must meet (usually exceed) all the other requirements of the game.

Well! That was a jarring experience! Just got a update via WU for Intel HD Graphics 4600. During install, it went absolutely bonkers on the display. Kaleidoscope wacky! Just let it be for a minute or so to finish install, then power button off/on. Wow!

This one seems to have messed my Windows 10 opening icons (e.g. the cogwheel when opening settings app), they're like pixelated or lower quality. Restart didn't fix it, going to uninstall clean and let it download from scratch via WU again.

It's not working although it shows under System Devices to be installed, the latest version, but I cannot use any of my Lenovo apps. After a sudden overnight update to Windows 10 the machine started to freeze and crash - mostly while the mouse cursor moves or dialog opens or other display changes happen quickly. I figure I should update the graphics card, which is listed as Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 My Envy 4 machine runs a 64-bit system on core i3 2376 CPU @1.4Ghz For that machine, the Intel website will not give an option for a Windows 10 update. The driver version is wayyyyy behind: version 9.17.10.4229 Current version update is for Windows 8 for that graphic card. It is here:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81500/Intel-HD-Graphics-3000-for-2nd-Generation-Intel-Core-...The version there is listed as 15.28.24.64.4229 which is signed to a year ago, with a slightly lower version number released 2/2016 (16 months ago). It is only given as an .exe package which will not install because of spec incompatibility. Can I get the Win8 driver for the Win10 machine? If this makes sense where can I get the file itself and how to do this? TIA Yuval

I have a refurbished Flex 4-1580 Laptop just a few days old (to me).  Currently running Windows 10 Home Version 1511 OS build 10586.1106. Intel HD Graphics 620 driver date 7/25/2016 driver version 21.20.16.4494. When the driver is automatically updated, the screen will go completely white and flicker, making the computer unusable. After a time it may return to normal. I have had to roll back the driver to the one I listed and disable automatic driver updates to use my laptop. Any suggestions?

Intel HD Graphics Driverv20.19.15.4531 (A04) January 12, 2017 So, I downloaded the new driver installation file and double-clicked it to install it.
The installation outputs the following error message and then fails.
"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer.
Setup will exit."
I did capture the installation log, which I will not post here unless someone wants to see it. However, the last few lines read as follows.
Removed INF = C:\ProgramData\35100e5e-e356-4d38-8d2f-fb1390ad5669\dell\drivers\9343_Video_Driver_RTWTF_WN32_20.19.15.4531_A04\Graphics\igdlh64.inf!   Installed driver uses 4IDs and installing driver uses less. Get driver from manufacturer website.IIF will NOT initiate rebootExit code = 0xA040ResultCode = 41024
Has anyone experienced a similar problem when attempting to update their Intel HD Graphics 5500 driver?

Trying to run Sketchup, get error message from sketchup that graphics card supports OpenGL version 2.1 and Sketchup requires version 3.0 or greater to run. According to the link (footnote 2) that cards drivers were only supported in "legacy mode" (compatibility) even in win 8.1. It may do the same in win 10 and the only way to find it is to try it

To install in compatibility mode do the following:

Right click the installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS

Make older programs run in this version of Windows

Hello   I got my new laptop for christmas and a few days ago HP support assistant told me that there was an "Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver Update" Version: 10.18.15.4281Ep3. I downloaded the update but after 4 attempts at trying to install through HP support assistant I kept getting the same message "Failed Instalation". I then went to my downloads through File Explorer and found the downloaded file. When i click the file it takes me to the install wizard and i can begin the installation but about 2/3 of the way though the install i get the same message "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" and then the install ends without completing. Im not sure how to find out what process is using the file or how to make the install complete so i would really appreciate your assistance.  Many thanks Rich

HP Supports Assistant shows that I need Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver - sp72370 driver for my Envy 360. Before I install this driver I can see that things are a bit laggy, ofcourse I dont have graphics driver. So I install this driver and everything works fine. However, Windows Update (always) pushes an update to this driver namely Intel Corporation driver update for Intel(R) HD Graphics Family (This driver was provided by Intel Corporation for support of Intel(R) HD Graphics Family), and the moment the update is installed everything goes down. The laptop starts lagging, the lag is visible while opening drives and programs, especially Firefox becomes a mess. Typing becomes terribly laggy, you can shift to tabs, page opening is slow like hell.

Ony because of this lag I had to clean install Windows 10 thrice as I though that it will fix the problem. I had to run ChkDsk for quite a few times on my 750 GB HDD. But then by hit and trial I narrowed down the problem to this Update, and we all know now it cant be uninstalled either. Please help.

I did a clean reinstall and was sort-of able to get the laptop to boot to normal mode. I say "sort-of" because it still has a couple of issues:
1) After the clean install, Windows update downloaded about 150 updates. After rebooting, I ran into the same issue as before - unable to boot into normal mode. I did another clean reinstall and installed the Windows updates 1 by 1 and found that installing the Intel Graphics adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics adapter WDDM1.2 - Intel HD Graphics 4000 was causing the problem. If I don't install this update, I don't have the file corruption issue.

2) The other problem is that I can't get my laptop to display on an external display. The Win + P keys don't bring up the display selection dialog. I installed the above-mentioned Intel graphics update and the Win + P keys were working now - but now the laptop goes into safe mode within 10-20 seconds of booting up - same as the original problem. So now I can't display on an external monitor unless I install the Intel driver but the driver corrupts the system files and I run into the original problem.

Dell Update reports there's an update for "Intel HD Graphics Driver". When I click Install Now, it looks like it installed, but it reports the same update again an hour later (or immediately if I force update check).
I have this problem on a XPS 13 9350. This is a recurring problem happening to a lot of people for various updates.
If a Dell assistant reads this, please help us all the way through until it's fixed once and for all. Appreciate it!

Brand new X1 Tablet - Product Number: 20GG001NUS Did the Windows 10 update - All went fine. Tried to do the Lenovo update through Lenovo Companion - System Update keeps coming back with: "There is a problem in retrieving new Updates. Observations on X260
- Companion did not show a relevant BIOS update (which IS shown by system update 5)
- After bios update a driver was missing and had to be installed
- Companion regularly says there is an optional update but does not show the update.
 
What is going on with Lenovo?

Just so everyone knows . . . don't rely on the System Update function of Lenovo Companion to update your machine. I used it today and it told me all was good. However, when I checked the Drivers and Software section of the Support Site, it showed a new version of Lenovo Software Foundation and App Explorer to download. In a word, the System Update function is "no bueno".
