Unable to install ATA Gateway - Failed to connect to the console

Q: Unable to install ATA Gateway - Failed to connect to the console

Hi there,
I am unable to install Microsoft ATA Gateway onto a Windows Server 2012r2 core server. The machine has been setup as a domain controller. Previously the gateway was installed on this machine but suddenly stopped working, I have been unable to start the ATA
service despite restarting the machine so decided to uninstall the program.
I receive the following error when trying to re-install "Failed to connect to the Console, https://xx.xxx.x.x If the IP address or certificate used by the console were recently updated, download the latest gateway package.

I have tried installing the program by selecting the 'Create self-signed certificate' check box as well as selecting both of the certificates available to me in the 'Gateway Service SSL Certificate' box.
I have tried selecting a different certificate in the ATA Center, downloading the Gateway setup again and re-installing - no change.
I have checked the mongodb using robomongo and confirmed the 'ServerCertificateThumbprint' is the same as the certificate in the ATA center.
I can successfully ping the ATA server from the problem machine and the account I am using has sufficient permissions to do what I need to do.
Is there anything else I can look at to try and resolve this issue? I don't really want to reinstall the OS if I can help it.

Preferred Solution: Unable to install ATA Gateway - Failed to connect to the console

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello Experts,

I have successfully deployed ATA Center 1.7 and ATA Lightweight Gateways then i have changed ATA Center Console certificate.
Now we have deployed new AD Domain Controller and i can't install ATA Lightweight Gateway on it.
When i download ATA Gateway installation from Center, there is still old certificate thumbprint in GatewayInstallationConfiguration.json file. Also when i change thumbprint value in config and try to install Lightweight Gateway again,
same error in install log occurs.
I have already restarted ATA Center server but issue still occurs.
I am considering to backup Mongo DB, reinstall ATA Center and Restore Mongo DB.
Can you give me advice?

I'm trying to install my first gateway.  I have a certificate in the computer's Personal store that I'm using for the gateway.  It was issued by the same CA with the same trust chain as the ATA Center

The gateway doesn't even try to copy any files.  I instantly get: "Failed to connect to management website" in red on the first screen and nothing else.  I don't see any errors in the logs, and using procmon I can see it trying to connect
to the right server.  I just don't see anything hitting the destination, but I want to be sure.
Trouble is, I don't see any logging anywhere saying what it tried to do or what failed.  (What server name did it use?  Was it able to establish an SSL connection?  Were the credentials not accepted?)
I can correctly connect and download the page using the DownloadString method of a System.Net.WebClient object, so the server itself doesn't appear to be generally unavailable.
Is there a log file I'm missing or something?

Hi -

I am currently using Windows 7. Everything was working fine including my YM (messenger itself). The next day - I am now not able to connect using my YM throwing an internet connection error. (Please refer to the attached screenshot).
I was able to confirm that I my internet connection is working fine as I am still able to surf the net. I was able to log in my YM account using meebo as well.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling YM - but still no luck.
I have run ComboFix as well and attached is the log created. I am not sure if this piece of information can help diagnose my problem.

Advance thanks.

right, i can't get into mine, i get 'unable to connect to logical disk management console' and 'server execution failure' done some googling and it seemed diskeeper might be at fault, but i've uninstalled it and rebooted. done various other things, cleaned the registry etc, but still nothing. tried re-registering several dlls too, to no avail. also tried uninstalling my webcam as that particular model causes problems, did nothing. tried this - http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/132/1/ - nothing. i seem to remember that when this happened before i did a system restore, but every restore i've tried has failed. also, both the disk management services and the dcom service are started. i'm at a complete loss now.

I had a problem with my Dell inspiron 1420. My laptop was showing that the strength of my network is strong but it was not able to get connected. It was like showing "Identifying..Identifying".....

I have tried many ways to solve this problem. I have followed few threads also but was not able to solve it.

But I solved it. My solution was this

Open Network and SHaring center -> View status -> Properties -> select on Internet protocol Version (4) TCP/IP -> properties

The uncheck the 'get automatic Ip address and enter the static ip address of your wireless (see it from other laptop if it is getting connected). Also uncheck the "get automatic DNS address" and also do the same.

Try this guys, the problem might get solved. I know it pisses a lot when we have no wireless...

I've installed the Microsoft ATA Gateway on a dedicated server in a lab environment. The gateway shows a status of "Stopped" in the ATA Console configuration tab. On the ATA Gateway itself, the Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics Gateway service
will not start. I keep getting the following error: "Windows could not start the Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics Gateway service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly."
I get an Event ID 7031 error in the windows service logs that says: "The Microsoft Advanced Threat Analytics Gateway service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 5000 milliseconds: Restart
the service". The service continually fails to start.
I'm not sure if this is related, but I also get the following error in the Microsoft.Tri.Gateway-Errors Log: "Error [AsyncResult]System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from
the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail. ---> System.ServiceModel.FaultException: An error occurred when verifying security for the message."

I'm using Windows Server 2012 R2. The Gateway is installed as a stand alone server with port mirroring configured for the capture NIC.

Hi All, My 3-year old Notebook has suddenly developed WiFi Internet access issues. For the past month, my WiFi connection has dropped intermittently, sometimes for hours. After running diagnostics, receive various error messages: Cannot find gateway, cannot connect to this network, ethernet adapter is unplugged, have not specified connection for wifi adapter. A few germane notes: 1. Router (from ISP) is functioning properly and signal is strong, usually 100% when connection suddenly drops.2. No bluetooth running, no other network connections except an HP printer.3. Distance minimal -- I am in the next room from router -- and no new 'obstacles' (metal/concrete) between myself and router.4. Have disabled/enabled all adapters including the WiFi, have removed, replaced, & freshly logged on to wireless connection.5. Even hardwired ethernet connection showed trouble being recognized.6. Contrary to error messages, everything set properly in 'Settings'.  Have never had this problem before; are the network adapters on this notebook just failing? (Atheros & Realtek).  Thanks for your help, Kate

I own a Gateway DX4870 UB20P desktop. It came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS installed, it has an Intel core I3 processor 2120. I attempted to install an MSI Nvidia GEFORCE GT710 video card. It did not operate correctly. After some searching, I was informed that card may not be supported by that Windows 7 OS. As such there was an option to upgrade to a Windows 10 free OS, so I did this so that's what I did. Windows 10 did not provide an avenue for the video card as hoped, So I attempted to revert back to Windows 7. In the process of my factory default restoration, I suffered a power failure for 6 hours. When the power came back on I attempted to restart the computer and then attempted the alt F10 option this did not function the computer loads to the Gateway screen gives you an option to go into the BIOS or the boot menu. A while ago, after accidentally opening the Store app, Windows forced me to restart to install Windows 8.1, which I was unable to weeks before because of driver issues. I didn't need Windows 8.1 yet, so I didn't download it before then.

However, during the installation, it failed (again) due to either my antivirus or the aforementioned driver issues. Upon logging back in, my computer was unable to find any WiFi networks. Seeing as I live in the middle of a densely populated city, this isn't possible. Plugging in an ethernet cord still works, so no issues with that adapter or my home internet. I checked all the drivers for my WiFi adapter, and my Ethernet adapter, and both are up to date and display as working properly. Restarting several times didn't seem to fix this issue, and using system restore didn't seem to work either. I used the Troubleshooting tool, and that didn't give my any helpful advice or answers, so I got nothing.

What can I do to fix this issue?

For reference, I have a Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter, Driver Version, and a Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller, Driver Version

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 per loaded with Windows 7. Tried installing XP on a partition on the same HHD. Installation failed saying "Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem ...etc"

The only option i have is to boot off the usb i created with xp iso and press R to take me to XP recovery console. I am so over XP at the moment all i want is to be able to log into Win7 again.

How can i fix this? My understanding is that the MBR is still pointing to the XP partition. How do i change it back to the Win 7 partition (C:\)?

The laptop did not come with any cds or recovery disks but i have a recovery partition on the HDD that i cannot access.

Please help to log back into Windows 7.

Old (2004) Compaq Presario, Win XP Home SP3, MSIE 8, Avast! Internet Security.  WinPatrol, SpywareBlaster, MVPS Hosts file, frequent scans with Malwarebytes AntiMalware.
Some days ago I ran an offered "emergency" update of Avast! Internet Security and forgot to uncheck the Google Chrome installation.  It took a couple of tries before the update would go to completion.  Immediate result was inability to access the Internet via MSIE 8.  Temporary fix was to "Repair" the AIS install.  That worked a few times, but now it does not (after what appeared to be an unnecessary Adobe Flash Player install).  I've removed AFP altogether for the time being, but that did not fix the problem.  Google Chrome does not appear among my installed programs, so I cannot remove it - but bing.com is now at the top of the R1 section of the HijackThis log.  Could that be blocking MSIE?  I do not use Bing.
When I try to go online with MSIE the program opens, then indicates "this tab has been recovered" (only the first tab, of three) and then closes immediately.  When I try to click on any link, for example in an e-mail message, MSIE opens and immediately closes again (with the usual invitation to report the problem to Microsoft).
I can post the HJT log if desired.
I am posting this from one of the office computers, since I cannot get online at home (e-mail continues to function normally on the home computer).

Hello, new to the forums, stumbled here after trying to google up a solution to my recent network problems.

I've recently made a clean install of W7 Home Premium 64-bit on my PC, and now I can't access my internet connection through my router. I'm currently connected directly through the broadband modem. I've tried connecting through wifi to the router with several other laptops (running different Windows- and Mac-OS' but all 32-bit) without any problems accessing the internet. Then I tried another laptop with 64-bit OS which didn't work, so I've narrowed down the problem to some conflict with the router due to 64-bit OS.

The router/modem is D-Link DIR655/Cisco 2100. W7 is updated. Using ESET Smart Security 4 (v. firewall and antivirus.

Guessing I have to change some settings in my router, but I don't know where to start, since I'm no network technician. Any suggestions on what might cause the problem?
Additional info will be provided if neccesary.

To clarify, I want to be able to connect to the internet through my router, right now neither cable nor wifi works. I can find the home network and other devices on it, but I can't access the internet.

You have two x64 computers that can't connect. Do both of them run ESET? If so, uninstall (do not disable) ESET and reboot to see if that's causing the problem

Your best option may be to open device manager (with device connected) and uninstall any related device, making sure the 'Delete driver software for this device' is checked.Once you have done this, unplug your device, uninstall WMDC 6.1 and reboot your machine. Then follow the instruction on my first reply, this should sort it for you.If anyone is helpfull, please click the 'Vote as helpfull' icon.

A few days ago I bought a copy of Starcraft 2 at Gamestop, and when I tried to install it said "Starcraft 2 is unable to connect to the internet" even though I am connected to the internet and all my other games are working online just fine. So then I disables all my firewalls and proxy settings on my browsers, and still no luck. Could their be possible malware or something on my computer that is causing this to happen because I noticed on my regedit there is this proxy that keeps reinstalling itself after I delete it from my registry. I've been waiting for this game forever

Thanks for your help in advance.

Okay, here goes

I just done a clean install from my DELL OEM disk of Windows XP Professional (SP2) .
Normally, LAN settings are automatically detected but this problem has me stumped.
It won't detect settings, connect manually or anything.

I currently connect straight to a router but with the LAN missing, I cannot do it.

So we have deployed 6 Gateways and One Center, we have ( For the purposes of  troubleshooting configured our ASA to only log to a single gateway, that gateway is reporting all it's other traffic normally.

I've captured the Radius message from the ASA, and what I have assertained is that maybe the ATA does not understand UPN ( User Principal Name ) as the Username category is [email protected] where as the SamaccountName is jblogs.

The only thing that makes me think this is that trying [email protected] does not resolve in the ATA Console. I've checked the MongoDB and there are no "VPN Sessions" being identified.
There really is not much "Debugging" documentation around either, but that is another thread

Hey everyone,

I recently upgraded my computer and decided to do a clean install of Windows 7 (64 bit)
My build is:
CPU: Intel i5 3470
MOBO: Asrock B75 Pro3-M
RAM: G.Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1333
GPU: Nvidia GTX 670
SSD: Plextor M5S 256GB
HDD: Samsung F3 1TB (OLD)
PSU: Corsair HX-850 (OLD)
CASE: Case: CM 690 II Advanced (OLD)
ODD: LiteOn (OLD)

I installed all the drivers from the AsRock wesite: ASRock > B75 Pro3-M

My modem setup is:
Modem: Netgear DM111Pv2
Router: Asus RT-N16

I have several computers connected to the internet so I do not believe it is the router's problem.

I ran Ubuntu using their live CD and internet worked so I do not believe it is the motherboard's problem.

Are you sure you have installed all the drivers for you mobo? You need the LAN driver, it's usually by itself as a stand alone driver but sometimes it's included with the chipset driver.

I recently restored the whole system on my sister's HP because of a virus that I was unable to remove manually.
The system restore went fine until it reached the point where it was going to reinstall Windows. The computer just turned itself off and the software install was not complete. Nor am I able to reinstall it again. Therefore I have to hold down ctrl+alt+del, go to task manager, click on audit.exe and end the process to turn the computer on. But I can't do anything with it in safemode. The main problem is: I can't connect to the internet! It won't find my wireless network even though Network Discovery is on. What can I do about the internet? And is there any way to install Windows again without a CD?
Thanks in advance!

A:Unable to connect to the internet after system restore and Windows install

whats the model of the HP by tapping F10 or F11 as it boots you may get into the recovery manager

i confused is the software now installed on the PC ?

is this a restore going back to a previous date - or a re-install

when you re-install the software you may need to download drivers - lets see a device manager

Device Manager
Post back the results in device manager
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC
Start > control Panel {Vista set to classic view}> system > {Vista, device manager on left hand side} {XP hardware Tab, device manager button} >
windows 7
start > control panel> System and Security> Device Manager

network adaptors, click on the + > post back the devices listed there
are there any ! ? or X
post a screen shot of the device manager - network adapters

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file.
To upload it to the forum, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here

This happens at my house and at his house with different routers.

Try scanning your computer for viruses, I suggest a boot-scan then see if you can connect after.

Hi Guys

Firstly I have tried to search the forums to find a solution to my problem but I keep getting php internal service error messages so I have started this thread.

My problem is that when I access the MS snap in via My Computer>right click>manage...I cannot access the disk management console.

Here is a screen shot of what I am seeing...

I have made sure that both the logical disk services are started in the services and applications snap in but this is not helping with my problem

I can however access disk defrag via C:\> properties> tools but not via the MMC snap in....

I also noticed that the message is asking me to open my firewall which to me looks suspicious as surely this service is within my computer/terminal and does not need to access an internet based application to function...Is this correct?

As per all advice is gratefully received..

Regards Colzie

A:[SOLVED] disk management console failed

Bumperoo..Just to let you know I have sussed out this problem..I have disk keeper pro installed on this PC and it has over ridden the basic MMC snap in..

The console comes up with a pop up message " The RAID plug-in failed to load because the driver is not installed correctly"  it also has a message on the console "A plug-in did not provide a page for the selected device". I tried to update the driver with the support assist it failed also.
I was told my PC is to old and there is no update to fix these problems!!!!
The Intel and Microsoft groups suggested contacting the manufacture. $$$$$$
I hope this was bad info!

While attempting to deploy ATA 1.7.5757 on a 2012 R2 server, the "Install" button is grayed and a red exclamation mark close to Console IP Address pop-up with: Console IP address is being used.
The server is already hosting 2 IIS sites bound to address 1 ports 80 & 443.
Address 2 has been created on purpose and is unused by any application. Confirmed by Netstat, this IP is not listening to any port used by the Center Service. The two IIS webs are configured to listen only on address 1.
I select Address 1 port 543 for the Center Service IP and Address 2 for the Console IP address.
The message will remain whatever available IP and port is selected: Console IP address is being used.
Thanks in advance for help.

Hey all, I'm not very tech-savvy so I'll try and explain everything as best as I can.

Recently, my computer has been BSOD due to some system files not working, so I realized that I need to use recovery console in order to fix it. Since I don't have a CD Rom drive on this computer, I made a bootable USB with recovery console on it. However, when I go to boot this USB Drive, it tells me "an operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system." BIOS shows the USB Drive as a Hard Drive, rather than a removable device, and so I have to boot it up as such.

Can anyone help me out with getting recovery console to run so I can fix this computer? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A:Unable to boot recovery console from USB!

That may happen when you are trying to find 64/32bit OS with 32/64bit recovery media.
USB 3.0 sticks on 2.0 ports also may act funny sometimes.

When I try to boot into windows I get the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM missing or corrupted text. I tried using my windows cd
but when I press r and it takes me to the menu to select the windows installation it gives me a BSOD.
It's a Dell E520, Windows XP SP3
I ran hdd diagnostic and it said that it was fine.
When I press the "setup windowx xp" option and agree to the terms I still get a bsod.
I've tried reading other forum posts but none of them have a solution. I can only type one value in the recovery console which is the number 1 which stands for my windows install.

A:Unable to use Recovery Console BSOD

It sounds like you've taken the proper steps to troubleshoot this issue. The next step would be (IMO) to run a memory diagnostic on your system. I recommend this free one: http://www.memtest86.com/Read the directions carefully to make a bootable disk, boot from it and let the test run for a minimum of 3 passes (overnight is better). If it starts spitting errors out you can stop the test immediately and start troubleshooting the individual RAM sticks.

Have been given a Dell computer for my daughter, it is only just over a year old and cant get it to connect to internet. It keeps saying that the router is not working, when I know it is ok because my other computers work on the internet ok. When I was looking to see if I could find problem I managed to access something which let me check computer connection and it came up that the Gateway IP Ping failed so I would not be able to connect to internet, frustrating to say the least. Can anyone help to solve the problem, not very computer savvy so in laymans terms please. Hope someone can help

A:Gateway IP Ping failed

what windows version is on the PC
how is it connecting to the internet via a cable to the router or via wireless

What firewall / security suite or anti-virus do you currently have on the PC - or you have ever had on the PC in the past - any trial ware - like Norton, Mcafee , AVG etc
lets see a device manager and a ipconfig /all

ipconfig /all
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post the results in a reply here.
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and paste here.

We would like to see the results from an ipconfig /all - post back the results in a reply here.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt box
(A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen ):

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt

It will export the results into notepad and then automatically open the notepad and display on your screen.

Now all you need to do is copy and paste those results into a reply here
to do that:
From the notepad menu - ch... Read more
