Problem with I Tunes and 64bit Windows 7

Q: Problem with I Tunes and 64bit Windows 7

I am having problems downloading the correct version of I Tunes for my new laptop.

The laptop runs the 64bit version of Windows 7 OS.

Checking various forums there seems a known problem with this version of Windows.

Is there a simple way that I can download the correct version of I Tunes that will run on my PC?

Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Got new computer in April of 2007 (HP Media Center M7747C) running vista and Norton 2008 (now) started with Norton 2007.

No problems until lightning hit my house in August of 2008. At that time I needed to replace my Ethernet card. (my surge suppressor did its job for everything else and sacrificed itself I was very happy about that).
Because my Ethernet card was part of the mother board (or so I was told) I needed to put the new one in one of the spare pci slots. This worked well and I am still using it today. It is a dlink 10/100.

In September of 2008 my computer would not start and went into a black screen saying that there was a problem with vista loading. I was able to load the os in safe mode and I determined it to be a bad graphics card.

I installed a new graphics card and because I was in a rush and needed it to work, I live in a rural area and my options for computer parts at odd hours are Wal-Mart or Office Max (60 miles round trip). I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a $99 ATI Radeon HD 2400 pro because it was the only card they stocked that fit into the pci express slot the old card was in and I was out of PCI Slots. This solved the problem immediately and my computer appeared to work normal. However as I found out several minutes into the new card it changed my sound settings and would no longer play over the speakers that connected to my computer or if I plugged in headphones still no sound. I did some research and found that there is a problem between the A... Read more

Hey guys.
My i tunes and quicktime are both upto date, but when i try accessing the i-tunes store i get a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error and it then closes I-Tunes.

I can access my currently downloaded music, apps etc.... if i click on the x when it says i-tunes store is loading, and can rome through i-tunes fine.
It will also play all my music with no problems.

Have done a registry clean, Virus Scan, Disk Check, Disk cleanup and Defrag and still no luck

It does however come up every now and again, and can access it and download music, apss and things.

Any advice on how to get proper functionality out of it, as it is really bugging me.

Thanks in advance.

(P.S. i have looked at previous topics and non display all the same characteristics i have)

I transfer old audio cassettes to CD-R's for family members and friends using Audacity, Been doing this for well over a year now.
Copy the media right over to the hard drive, save as an MP3 and burn it to disc using either WMP or Win Xp's feature.
Daughter got an upgrade to her I-Pod stuff and Quicktime.
Now I can only burn with I-tunes' (slower than molasses) software.
If I use WMP, a dialog window opens and say, WMP can't read this file, It's not an MP3 or is missing a codec, or something to that affect.
If I use Xp, it copies but it sounds like "ZiiiipZiiiipZiiiip". If that's a sound.

Can anyone tell me what happned?
Thank, Jeff

edit.
I should add this is not copyrighted material I'm copying to cd's. It's family stuff like Grandma playing the piano or little Johnny reciting a poem.

Just wanted to be clear.

The problem is that when I play performance cds that I bought from I tunes, on this sound system, I can hear the original singers singing on the cds. These cds work fine at church and also when I play them on my pc we don't hear the singers. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it? Thanks for your help....Wrenie

I had i tunes 8.0 verson with no problems. When I upgraded to 9.0 that is where the problem starts. Now when I listen to their 30 second sample music, instead of 30 seconds, now it stops and starts every 2 or 3 seconds. It is the pits. So I upgraded to 9.2 and that did not help. I E-mailed apple and i tunes with no responce. Do I need to uninstall the newer verson and install the older one to resolve the problem? And will I loose all my music that I have downloaded? My daughter's i-tunes program keeps popping up and we can't get it to stop. She is using Windows XP and has i-Tunes 7.3.1.3 installed. Even if she exits out of i-tunes and shuts it down through Task Manager Processes, the darn thing keeps popping up. It doesn't matter is she's connected to the internet or not. Any ideas what might be going on or what we need to do to get this to stop? We don't want to uninstall i-Tunes and lose the gazillion songs she has on there.

Can anyone help, please?
Have had i-tunes for some long time and all has been OK until today.
For no apparent reason, i-tunes will now no longer move on and play the next track in any playlist after playing a song - whether with shuffle on or off. It just plays the first song you click on - and refuses to move automatically on to another song.
It will play another song if you click on another song - but only if you do that - it will not move on automatically.
After much frustration today I tried downloading the latest version of i-tunes but that made no difference.
Does anyone know the solution, please?
Thanks.

First, I am running XP, Service pack 3, Amd Athlon II x4 620 Cpu with 4 gigs ram, (only 3 seen by xp).

Today I tried to upgrade my I touch software and downloaded the 4.3 software. Then I tried to upgrade it and it crashed. One of things Apple said to do was to upgrade the software so I downloaded I tunes 10.2.2.12 and ran it. No good.
Then they said to Uninstall Itunes.

When I run Uninstall, it does NOT remove the programs, nor the short cuts on my screen. Yet the uninstall says it is completed.

I really needed my I touch tomarrow morning for a presentation as it has all my notes. My I touch is locked up in USB mode, and cannot restart. I can't even get the damm thing recongnized by I tunes, so that I can force a factory reset.

Any ideas? Any help appreacated. Thanks.

To reset your Apple iPod Touch:

Hold the On/Off/Sleep/Wake and home button at the same time for 10 seconds until the Apple icon appears.
(from the manual)

Sometimes my iPod doesn't want to reset, i connect it to the ac adapter that (should) come with the ipod touch and then see if it takes that, then do the reset.

hi
first i apologize for the bad English.

I had windows 7 32bit till it crashed when I was removing win32 virus in system32 folder.
So I had to install windows again because it was stopping on starting windows logo and didn’t start even in safe mode.
I installed windows 7 64 bit .
My drive c was fully reinstalled again but I recover my drive d with my personal information.
Now the windows works slowly and sometimes hangs up for a few seconds.
After 2 days when I was watching a video file suddenly the windows crashed again:
System check started to work .
Windows hid All my drive d and library.
I had an error message
unfortunately I do not recall the error message .(something about low memory or speeding down)
So I had to use a restore point from 2 days ago from safe mode.
Its ok now.
But I was wondering that you can help me figure out what was the problem.
Is it because I installed 64 bit and I recover my datas?
Or its something else(like a program that suit 32 bit, windows update)?
can i make my windows works faster?

Thanks for your help

Here is my system information:

A:problem with windows 7 64bit

Have you installed all the device drivers for your hardware? I'd recommend the ones from the manufacturer, and not relying on the ones built into Windows. Windows 7 does a great job of identifying your hardware and getting you up and running quickly, but when it comes to performance the manufacturers driver almost always is better.

You might also want to fill in your specs under "My System Specs in your SevenForums Control Panel.

Your English is pretty good, by the way.

hi, i have a hp g62 with core i3 and 4Gb of RAM memory, bought last October

since some weeks ago my pc is lagging every time i play any game that run perfectly before, i thought that such situation was due to overheating (and it was, but i didn?t realize why...) but today i turned on my pc and without running any program i went to the task manager to see what processes were running, and nothing but the antivirus (NOD32) and msn (the programs that consumed more ram), the other programs where insignificant because they are from system. then i see the performance and "woooow!" 1.3 or 1.4 Gb of RAM consumption! i run the antivirus many times, the "TuneUp utilities" and "malwarebytes". at first they detected some errors and some trojans, then i fixed them and restarted the computer... after restart: the same memory loss as i mentioned above... so, what should i do?

Hi All

Have just bought a new PC running Windows 7 64bit. My HP Photosmart C3180 printer installs fine and prints a test page, using the download from HP Support. However none of my Windows programs, including Word 2007, Excel 2007, Wordpad, Notepad or Internet Explorer 8, will print to the printer. It is set as default but the programs either don't respond or, in the case of Word and Excel, throw up an error message:

Windows cannot print due to an error with the current printer setup

THEN after re-choosing the HP printer from the list:

Word cannot print. There is no printer installed.

I have printed using XPS Document Writer (i.e. created a file), so a bit perplexed at what to do next...

Has anyone had any similar problems with older hardware and Windows 7 64bit that they have resolved - and what did you do?

A:Windows 7 64bit and HP printer problem

I'm having exactly the same problem with my new HP being able to send print material to my Dell AIO 942. At first I thought it was the print spooler (turning on and off) but that settled down. The Troubleshooter function says it's okay but it's not. Dell says my printer is compatible with the 64 bit. This looks like a real glitch. If you hear of a fix, please let me know.

I have been fighting a BSOD problem on a new system for a couple of weeks now. The history of the problem is as follows: Built a new PC using an Asus P7P55D-E Pro MB, 8 GB of DDR3 1600 RAM, 2 x WD 640GB HDs, XFX Geforce GTS250 video card, Corsair CMPSU-750HX power supply, Intel Core i5-661 3.33GHz CPU.

I had no problems installing Windows 7 64bit and all of the hardware was recognized by the Windows 7 install disk. After the Win7 install I began installing software. Everything installed and worked well. When I was finished I ran the Win7 backup and made an image. After that I shut down and went to bed.

The next morning when I turned on the PC Windows 7 started, I logged on, then shortly after - BSOD. On the reboot I tried to start Windows again but it crashed again. Next I selected safe mode. That worked.

Once Windows 7 launches successfully I am able to work for hours (even a couple of days). I installed more software and Microsoft installed updates. The problem continued. If I shut the computer down for a while I get the BSOD on restart.

The strangest occurrence I have seen is where Windows would not give me a Safe Mode option after a crash. In that case I had to use my system repair disk to boot up. However, it took a couple of tries before the repair boot disk was recognized. Once it came up I was able to use system restore to get back into Windows 7. Again, once it came up, I could run for hours without even a hiccup. The issue with the boot dis... Read more

You're getting a memory corruption error. There are many possible causes but first to look at is to completely uninstall your antivirus to see if the problems persists.

Excellent chance your current av is the cause, especially because I see you have a Symantec product on there.

Put simply, I have no sound.

Here?s my hardware:

Intel Core2 duo
Asus P5E Motherboard
4GB DDR2 1066 RAM
Gigabyte HD 6950 Video Card
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series PCIe
1TB Samsung SATA2 HDD
Logitech G15 Keyboard
Logitech mx1000 mouse
(only mention the latter three only to be thorough)

OS is Windows 7 64bit ? freshly installed and fully updated

All motherboard, graphics card, and Logitech drivers are fully updated*. This includes all current chipset drivers for the MB. I have yet to flash any bios up to current, as I am waiting to do that as a last resort ? it makes me nervous.

Here?s the simple stuff. The motherboard does come with ?onboard? sound of a fashion. It is in the form of a PCIe card, which I do not have. Never the less, I have tried my little driver dance, described below, with the ?onboard? sound both enabled and disabled. I have also tried both of the PCIe slots on my board with the same results. The SB speaker output is set to be my default device, the front/rear fader is in the center and the manual volume knob is set to a bit over half. I have tested the speakers (creative 5.1 system, had it for years) by plugging each of the jacks into my phone while playing an MP3, speaker connections are solid. The card lights up and is listed in the device manager as functioning properly (under the name ?HD Sound Device? and then as ?Creative SB X-Fi? with drivers installed). There are no IRQ conflicts.

A:Yet Another X-Fi install problem in Windows 7 64bit

What I always done with my older X-Fi, was this:

-Disable Onboard sound and boot into windows.

-Download and install the Product Identification Module Update
Download the latest driver, but do not install just yet.
-From the disc, Install the Volume panel, and THX Console only.
-Reboot.
-Install the latest driver you downloaded earlier.

This was how I handled My Xtreme Gamer and had no issue.

Also, isnt the Sound card a PCI Express x1 card?
If so, double check that its in either the Blue x16 slot on your board, or one of the small x1 White slots.
it will not work in the long white slots, if this is the board Im thinking it is.

Hi! I have a Lenovo G50-70 laptop with Windows 7 64 bit SP1 on it. Until a few days ago everything worked ok. For three days I do not have wireless enabled. If I try a network diagnostic, gives me the following message: wireless capability is turned off. In BIOS, wireless function is activated. All drivers are installed correctly. All indications lead to a "switch" (switch or key combination Fn) from which would enable / disable the wireless function. But this model of laptop does not have one. I tried many ways: wireless driver reinstallation; image restoration OS installation date; diagnoses computer software etc, pressing F7 (airplane) key, but nothing. Still the same message: radio hardware is off / wireless capability is turned off. The whole thing happened after the laptop runs on battery until it went off alone. It seems that the wireless was disabled by the power management function "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Does anyone have any idea how I can activate the "wireless capability"? Thank You.

A:Lenovo G50-70 Wi-Fi problem in (64bit) windows 7 w...

hi gaskoe

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try the following:

Power down the machine, remove the AC adapter and battery and hold the power button for 30secs (power drain).
When finished, plugin the AC adapter and boot into the BIOS then disable the Wireless LAN Support then hit F10 to save and exit then turn off the machine.

- Sample image

Re-insert the battery, and boot back into the BIOS then re-enable the Wireless LAN Support then hit F10 to save and exit then observe the wireless functionality inside Windows.

If the problem remains, try these steps:

Open the Control Panel (icon views) > Programs and Features and uninstall the Lenovo Energy Manager then reboot
Download and install this version:
Lenovo Energy Manager

When finished, press F7 or Fn+F7 and check if you have the option to turn ON Wireless (see image below) and observe if you can now detect your Wi-Fi network.

Let me know how it goes,

Hello, I was wondering if somebody could help me:

I'm trying to upgrade my computer and decided to install Windows 7 64bit Home Premium, however the installation keeps on locking up or crashing at random points during the installation process, for example during the finalisation step or during the expanding files step. This is to a brand new hard drive, not an upgrade.

Following the advice from other parts of the forum, I've stripped the computer down to just the motherboard, processor, DVD drive, hard drive and 1 stick of RAM. I've tested each component step by step, so I don't believe it's a installation issue (none of the components are currently in the case anyway, so it's not grounding out against that).

I've changed the SATA configuration to AHCI, disabled Cool n' Quiet and updated the BIOS. Other than those two changes, the BIOS settings are default, so nothing's overclocked as far as I know. I've scanned the hard drive for faults with my old computer and checked the RAM with memtest, and they're fine. The monitor is currently connected to onboard graphics with a VGA cable.

It's not a heat issue as the processor has been reporting between 38-42C for the past hour.

I'm completely out of ideas as to what to do - any advice?

Current build:

Windows 7 64bit Home Premium (from a retail box)
AMD Phenom II X4 955 processor
Asus M4A75TD-EVO motherboard
Corsair PC3-10666 1333MHz 2GB DDR3 RAM stick

I just got a new laptop with windows 7 in it. Everything went well for a few weeks but then iwe started to notice this annoying problem. When i left click 1 time a folder for example it takes it as 2 or 3 clicks and opens the folder/exe instantly. This is very annoying while gaming and so on. I had logitechs mouse but i bought new fatal1ty mouse and the problem still continues. Help would be appreciated and sorry for bad english! its an USB mouse btw and i have tried to set my double click speed needed to open folders to fastest at mouse options too, still no change.

A:Windows 7 (64bit) Mouse Problem

Take a gander at this thread but do it in reverse.

Disable auto-click but enable just one click for folder

Hopefully this will help, if not try fiddling with soe of the other options.

Hey there, new to the forum n' stuff. I already did a check of the topics and didn't quite find one that matched my issue so here it is.

I'm currently running Windows Vista 32bit on my 250gb HD. I also have a 80gb SSD I just purchased plugged in as well, my computer can see it but is completely unformated and untouched.
After I bought the "Windows 7 64bit Professional Upgrade" I download the package from Microsoft and got the 3 files you see on the right which I then extracted to the left...

I then used PowerISO and burned the extracted files onto a DVD-RW...

I then restarted my computer, held F8 and booted from my CD drive. When I did so my computer just started up like it always does from my standard HD and nothing happened. Rather confused as to what I need to do.

Any insight as to what the problem is?
My goal is to Install Win7 onto my blank SSD and wipe my existing HD clean (the one that holds my existing Win-Vista)

A:Installing Windows 7 64bit from DVD-RW onto SSD problem

Welcome to the forum,

Try it with only the SSD plugged in using one of these methods,

Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

Can you test that the DVD is bootable on another machine?

You can try burning with imgburn at 4x speed if your other installer isn't working.

Ok. I changed my SID number last night i installed a programm and it had something insde that it called SID number and after I rebooted most of my stuff was gone. Well, I dont know if its gone or it is just not available to me because Im not able to log in to my my administrator account. I am not able to perform most functions because I dont have the rights to do pretty much anything.

If I get my stuff back, that is cool, but I really need to start windows 7 over so I can get started again.

Is there a way that I can fix this or somehow restart my system? i have my programms but i need back my old desktop plz guys im beging you help me im very dissapointed

A:problem with SID number windows 7 64bit

Welcome to Windows 7 Forums. Help us help you. Fill in your system specs and tell us what the program that you installed is called. Try starting the machine in safe mode using the F8 key while booting at the black screen, bring up msconfig.exe from the run command on the start menu, you may have to enable it in the start menu properties. The startup tab will show you the programs that start with windows, hopefully, you can disable the program causing your problems here and reboot...

Ok so i'll try and explain my problem the best way I can so please bear with me.
I started to get a very odd problem that i was unable to launch Internet Explorer, i would just get the hour glass circle and it would not open the window when looking at task manager the process iexplore.exe*32 opens briefly and then immediately closes no events generated in the event log.
The first thing I did was reboot my machine and everything worked perfectly again, although now every subsequent reboot i get the same issue.
I noticed that when I have the issue I am still able to run 64bit applications like IE 64bit and MSPaint 64bit.
Task manager seems to show fewer processes as it's failing to start *32 processes.
I'm really stumped with this one and hope someone can offer some advice as I really don?t want to have to resort to a os reinstallation.

A:Have a problem to make sharing with Windows 7 64bit and windows 7 32bi

Hello tzahiel,

Which A/V "anti virus" software do you have installed on those machines?

Have you gone through the permission settings in order to share any files or folding on either of those machines yet? The link below shows you how to set permissions.

I can't install, uninstall or update Internet Explorer.

Errors from windows update:
Code 9C48
&
Code 9C57

I've been trying literally for 3 days straight from the time I get up to the time I go to sleep to try to fix this. I don't usually post on forums about this type of thing but I really need to fix this. Internet Explorer is of course, pre-installed on my OS.

A new job (I'm a freelancer) requires me to use Internet Explorer to activate a program (Autodesk 3dsmax) -- the activation screen doesn't show up!!

In any case, thats another problem all together but to fix that I need to fix Internet Explorer, and to fix Internet Explorer I need to fix the Windows Updater & to fix that.. I do what? I've tried every single thing possible.

So I'm probably going to need a more customized solution. I'm not sure what could fix my specific problem.

Extremely sorry to have to ask for help & thank you in advance. Even if it can't be fixed I'm extremely grateful for any help or advice that can be given.

Its important I find a way to fix this fast since I'm so behind on work now, so even if theres a regular user that has any good information - anything thats fairly well hidden, tips, tricks anything -- I'd be really happy to hear it.

Hi all, I was trying to do a back up for my asus N53S laptop using an external hard drive Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 3 TB USB 3.0 External Hard, and I got the error saying

"One of the backup files could not be created. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."

Can someone please give me a solution.

Do note I also backed up my desktop on this same hard drive using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

A:Back Up Problem Detected With Windows 7 64bit

I had the same difficulty. I'm not an expert, but this is a Windows problem. Windows 7 will only address MBR hard drives of up to about 2.2 GB. I reformatted the Seagate drive to the GUID (GPT) format and am using Paragon backup to do an image and the Microsoft Synctoys to backup files on a regular basis. Look at the following for ideas.

Seagate has different advice here and recommends it's disk wizard software (I haven't tried this):

Support for Disk Drives Beyond 2.2 TeraBytes (TB) and 4K Advanced Format Sectors

I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. It was running fast a year ago. About half a year ago it slowed down dramatically during boot and the follow 10 minutes. I can't figure out why. I've done the following to no avail:
1) ran antivirus (Security Essentials) and antimalware (Malwarebytes) programs (no problems found)
2) cleaned up unused files and defragmented HDD (no noticeable change)
3) did a clean boot (still had the issue)
4) formatted HDD and reinstalled Windows... twice (issue still present from beginning both times)
5) replaced HDD, SATA cables, and RAM (issue still present)
6) utilized all the troubleshooter programs built in Windows (no problems found)
7) ran a CPU scan (passed)
8) Reset BIOS (no change)
9) Updated BIOS directly from ASRock (no change)
10) Ran Disk Check (no change)

Interestingly, I have another HDD in which I put the Windows 10 Tech Preview on. It runs perfectly. That same HDD was previously in my system with Windows 7 on it and the problems were still present.

Other info:
Processor: Intel Core i7 3770
Motherboard: ASRock Z75 Pro3
RAM: 4 x 4GB DDR3 1600MHz (default set at 799.9MHz)
Graphics: GeForce GTX 660 Ti

Any help to get my computer running fast again is greatly appreciated.

Hi FofR

Welcome to 7 forums.
You did a pretty good job troubleshooting on your own.
Have you checked your RAM? . . .Ahh yes I just noticed that in your post.

Does the problem persist in Safe mode?
