Preferred Solution: CS joining Server issue (SS INCLUDED)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

when joining a server you might have your game crash and go back to your desktop screen there is a simple salution to this, open task manager ctrl+alt+del then click on processes tab, find Bf2, right click it and select Set afinity make sure only cpu 0 is selected.
this is all you will need to do the down side to this is that you will have to do this every time you load the game. but for people that have this problem, Im afraid i have not come across any other salution.
good luck!

Hello!
I have a little problem. I am running XP on a workstation and i need to join a domain on win2000 server. When i try it as usual (and as it is working on EVERY other my computer running also XP), i get immediately an error, that it canť reach the domain controller. I don't know why, because i get IP/DNS from the server as normal.
I suspect the comodo firewall blocking ut, but no message pops up, and no logs are saved.

Can anyone help? Its really only on this workstation, and there is

XP sp2, comodo, Spybot, SG, Avast

on every other computer (even with vista) it works, so i suppose the server is working fine.

A:XP joining 2000 Server domain - problem

i turned off the FW and avast, and it's still not workig. I have to say that i did some anti-malware procedures on this computer and maybe some thing is missing to join the domain, i don't know :/

Hello, I'm having trouble with trying to join my client computer to the server domain. My client is Windows 7 Professional and the server domain OS is Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard. I tried the usual method of going to System-Change Settings-Change-and entering the domain name to join. However, I get the message saying:

An active directory domain controller (ad dc) for the domain sean.local could not be contacted. Ensure that the domain name is typed correctly.

I know for a fact that the domain name (sean.local) is correct. On my DC, I have Active Directory, DHCP and DNS installed. Its weird because I could ping the server IP just fine and get a response, but when I ping the domain name (sean.local) I do not get a response. I get a message saying "Ping request could not find host sean.local. Please check the name and try again."

I think the issue I'm having with not being able to join the domain has something to deal with the DNS server. I will post the network configurations for both the client and the server domain and hopefully we could get this client to finally join the domain once and for all. Thank you everyone for your help, I appreciate it.

Hi,

I am having an issue with offline files created offline syncing back to the server. I have set up a network share to be available offline on a client computer. All files are available offline without issue. Here is the issue however. If I set the folder to work offline any file I create in the folder when it is offline just disappears when the folder comes back online, there are no conflicts or sync failures reported in sync center. If I create a new folder offline the folder does sync back to the server. Any changes made to an existing file are also replicated back to the server once the share is back online. So the issue is only with newly created files when the share is offline. I have not been able to replicate this error on any other file server in our environment, However I have recreated the issue with multiple shares with multiple Win 7 clients on this file server.

Steps taken so far.

Checked and reset permission levels on the share.
Recreated new shares from scratch for testing.
Disabled and enabled offline files on the client computer and cleared the offline cache.
Check various registry entry settings.
Disabled cashing on the File server.
Tested with XP the issue does not exist with XP.

I have spent hours researching this error online to no avail.

The clients are running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit
The File server is Server 2003 Standard 32 bit with SP2

Any help or ideas would be most welcome.

I've seen the complaints about this problem but with no clear resolution. There are some hot fixes listed that may help, updating to Windows 7 SP1 is supposed to help in some cases but nothing seems for certain.

No way for me to recreate this problem but apparently others have the same problem.

We run a web proxy server on our network for internet access.
On client machines (running Windows 2012 R2) I have configured the proxy server setting in Internet Explorer "Tools\Internet Settings\Connections\LAN Settings" to point at the designated web proxy server.
When attempting to browse websites from IE I receive the "The proxy server isn't responding" error.
Conversely, browsing the same sites via Google Chrome and Firefox (installed on the same client server) return web pages without error.
In addition, if I run Internet Explorer as administrator (Right Click\Run as Administrator), I am able to browse web sites without receiving the error.
It would appear that the issue is isolated to browsing via IE when not run in elevated mode.
Has anyone come across this issue?

A:Server 2012 R2 - Internet Explorer Proxy Server Issue

Hi Dicki,
First, please try to reset the Internet Explorer. Some plug-ins may affect the proxy.
If it doesn't work, please try to perform a network capture on the client.
Please check if the client send the http traffic to the proxy server at the correct port.
If the client has sent the http traffic to the proxy server, please check if there is any warning or error in the proxy server.

Thanks for clicking. Any help at all with my situation is greatly appreciated.

As I am completely in the dark about what is happening with my computer and have totally exhausted my meager knowledge of security issues, I will simply describe the events that I have encountered and hopefully someone will be able to make sense of it all. If I had actually recieved any error messages or detected any malicious programs with my various utilities it would make the fix much simpler, but of course that's not the case.

Okay here goes... About a week ago my Earthlink DSL service stopped, modem unable to establish PPPoE. Multiple calls to Earthlink confirmed that my account was active and trouble free as where the servers for the local area. That's it, nothing else. Then, when I try to establish a DSL connection I get same problem, no PPPoE. Here's where it gets really wierd and makes me believe I've got something other than a bad ISP going on here. A few days ago my pc started acting funny, at the time I was using Sunbelt Vipre Antivirus Premium, and it detected nothing during it's nightly deep scans I ran on schedule. It started with my pc randomly freezing and rebooting, then I started getting errors saying "Windows must now restart because the DCOM Server Process Launcher Service terminated unexpectedly". I ignored the first instance of that, as it did not happen again until a day or two later, then again in less time in between than the first two, then it would be a few times a day. I've since done a clean reformat of my C drive and fresh install of Windows 7 x64. It's been 2 days since the reformat, and I've been slow to re-install programs and games. I've only installed things I know are from trusted companies and developers, nothing fishy.

Yesterday, I was in the middle of a gaming session when my pc went black, started the shut down process and acted as if it was installing windows updates during the shutdown, only it was saying something about updating registry entries etc etc. Restarted just fine, logged in and hopped back into the gaming session. A few hours later, I got the same DCOM Server error as before, and have since had 3 other instances of it, one of which nothing was open or running on the pc aside from the standard background processes.

I will post logs from both HJT and DDS, appreciate the help when someone can get to it, know you guys (gals) are busy. Thanks!

A:DCOM Server Process Launcher terminated unexpectedly. Forced Restart, logs included.

First off sorry for the long double post here, just attempting to get as much information out from the get go to get a bigger jump on the fix (hopefully), as I'll be at work a lot the next few days and won't have much time to tinker with programs or even check this forum for replies or to answer questions.

I've got an update with a bit more information. I noticed that moments before I get the error, my HDD starts scanning like crazy (being loud, I assume like it's searching for files etc..), when I heard this the most recent time, I opened task manager and found that one of the svchost.exe processes was running at over 1 million k, moments later I got the error. Now that may not be significant, but in my past experiences I've not ever seen them go over 300k really. I attempted to capture a screen shot and save it as a .jpeg before it shut down, but was unable to. I did capture one immediately upon restarting my pc, and noticed one of the svchosts.exe usage shot up significantly and then slowed. I'll post a screen shot of the details of that particular one, and will continue to monitor that specific process from time to time. Again, not sure if it's related, or even if the process I have highlighted is the same one that was over 1 mil just before the error.

EDIT: From the time I snapped this screen shot, which was moments before posting this reply, to the time I had posted it, give or take 5-8 minutes. That same svchost.exe has gone form ... Read more

I'm new to the forum but have a problem that I want make the right decision on. I play Aces High II which is a flight simulation game. It may not be as hard core as Battlefield 3 but they do keep upgrading to high res graphics. My computer is a prebuilt Dell Studio XPS 8000. Intel i7 core 860 processor @ 2.8GHz. Graphics card a Nvidia geforce GTS 240. 8 Mb memory, Windows 7 home premium os. Now that said I am experiencing stutter sometimes while i'm playing. My fps go from 60 which is where it should be to 10 or less. I,m not sure if this is the game card or a lousy connection to the game server as we do get discoed sometimes. The computer is a year and a half old and don't remember experiencing this before that much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not against getting a new card and probably need new power supply.

well this is my first time using thermal grease on a cpu, on my others i just used the pad on the heatsink... i scraped the pad off of my heatsink and put thermal grease on my cpu. but i had no idea how bad the stuff liked to smear. so my cpu has thermal grease kind of smeared all over the top of it now.

will rubbing alcohol remove the thermal grease from the green area of my chip? i noticed there is a light coating over some of the bridges, rubbing alcohol should be able to remove the thermal grease from that area allowing my cpu to safely run, shouldnt it?

Thanks in advance!
Mark

btw, I bought an asus a7n8x-x motherboard monday, it's arriving at my house today, so i wanted to make sure my cpu was cleaned up properly before installing it into my new motherboard. the asus motherboard is to replace my ECS k7s5a pro motherboard (which turned out to have fried my 1ghz amd thunderbird cpu, it wasnt me that caused it after all).

A:thermal grease issue (pic included)

Yes, using alcohol will remove the thermal paste without a problem... Just make sure it's a "clean" alcohol, and not something oily like White Spirit..

Use a Q-Tip or something similar to do it, as there is no need to drench the entire chip in alcohol... (And it'll make it easier to get the paste away from the bridges...)

A small other point, as long as you clean the bridges, you don't have to clean the rest, as that's just ceramics... But it's allways nicer to have a clean chip, as less dust will attach itself to it....

Hello,
I recently was reviewing my email on Juno when suddenly a bunch of pop up menus came up. Suspecting a virus, I installed and ran Kaperskhy antivirus and after running a scan, a bunch of virus files were identified and quarantined. Since this occurred, the computer is extremely slow which I assume is some leftover stuff from the virus. I also did a defrag, system cleanup and turned off startup programs to see if the speed improved which it didn't. The computer is a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop with Intel Celeron processor and 128 RAM. My hijack this log is below. Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated.

I use Spybot Search & Destroy and SpywareBlaster and I also use both of their "Protection Features" for browsers. However when I use Firefox the protection get disabled somehow and I'm trying to determine how.

Each time, after re-enabling the protection for Firefox it gets disabled again when I start Firefox up. I downloaded and installed an AdBlocker addon for Firefox last week but Disabled it after I discovered this issue.

I didn't work. Protection status provided by both Spybot Search & Destroy and SpywareBlaster continues to get rendered "disabled" each time I use Firefox.

I'm wondering if there is something else on my computer that I'm not aware of, or not seeing.

I've included the required log files (and attachments) below. One thing worth noting is that the GMER scan lasted for MORE THAN 12 hours before I finally shut it down. The tool DID NOT warn of rootkit activity and DID NOT ask if I wanted to run a full scan... so I just let it go until I stopped it. I undertand that this "incomplete scan" might be an issue but I'll deal with that if it is.

Thanks for any assistance provided.

My scan results are below.

This appears to be a similar flavor of malware that I've seen you guys deal with before. I ended up here because I googled the Problem signature 01 6.1.7600.16385 found in this post http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/448339/windows-failed-to-start-system-repair-cant-discover-problem/
I've already used the command line ultilties mentioned in the above post and just like for the original poster it didn't seem to help.
I've attempted to restore the important boot files while following the issues that other people have had here to no avail.

The files on the hard drive appear to be intact, but all of the repair utilities swear there is no Os on the drive.

Hello everyone!

So, today i bought my first laptop with windows vista on it. The configuration is as follows:

Toshiba Satellite P505D-S8935

AMD Turion? X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor RM-74, 4GB DDR2 800MHz, 18.4" widescreen HD+ with TruBrite? Technology 1680x945 (HD+) ATI? Radeon? HD 3200 256MB-1662MB,HDD 400GB, DVD-SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) with Labelflash, Webcam and microphone, Realtek? 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN, 3-USB (2.0), 1-eSATA/USB (2.0) , Windows Vista? Home Premium (SP1, 64-bit)

As I am a fan of videogames, i tried installing a few after i have updated my video drivers only to be disapointed... I have instaled Prototype, Sins of a Solar Empire and Torchling. They all had the same problem - parts of the screen were filled with tilting squares and lines just as shown in the picture below.

I tried to start S.o.a.S.E with compatability mode, but then i didnt even get to the intro page (the game froze). I managed to start Torchlight with compatability mode (Windows XP SP 2) but the problem was still there.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thank you all!

Peace!

A:Vista 64 bit Game Graphics issue (pic included)

Wow - Thats strange. Definetly some odd artifacting..

Try doing a power cycle - Take out the battery/AC Adaptor, press and hold power button for a full minute and 30 seconds. Power it back up and open a game. If this doesn't resolve the problem,

I recommend trying to reinstall Vista -

Generally the way to start an FFR on a Toshiba is to turn it on while holding down the 0 key..

If that won't do it,
Theres a physical issue with the GPU it seems

Good luck..

Good evening, I have attached the latest info for my last BSOD to make it a bit easier as well as the .zip for the other BSOD I have had. I am at a loss and really not sure what the issue is. They appear random in nature, either I am just surfing the net or I am playing a game (considering I really only do those 2 things I would consider them random since it happens no matter what I am doing). I'm running a Prime95 test as we speak and for the last couple of hours and it has been stable. Chkdisk comes back fine. Memtest comes back fine as well. These BSOD have been happening for months.. I'm just now fed up with them and ready to throw money at my machine so before I do that I would like to make sure I'm throwing money at the correct hardware. All of my drivers are up to date that I am aware of.

Another major issue that I am also having is when I BSOD (except for the one that I have attached info for, this issue did not happen) the SSD will disappear from my BIOS and the only way I can get it back is if I unplug it, reboot my machine with it still unplugged, turn it off once the boot fails (because there is no OS on my second HD) then plug it back in and it will show up fine in the BIOS and boot up fine. This also happens occasionally when I shut my computer down for the night and go to turn it on the next day the SSD will disappear and I will have to do my routine that I stated above for it to boot properly. Also my mouse and keyboard will randomly stop working and I will ... Read more

And again, i sadly have an issue on a brand new PC. It keeps on rebooting and dropping in BSOD's while playing WoW. Afaik the computer is running stock speeds, so that shouldn't be a problem, could anybody read these 2 minidumps and tell me where the problem lies? :-/

Quickly (I've gotta go out), it's most likely either your video drivers (dxgkrnl is involved), or it's an issue with your WoW installation. I'd try replacing your video drivers first.

At first, I was just getting a couple of pop-ups every now and then from IE and noticed an occasionally foreign process running when I checked the list in taskmgr. It started getting worse, though, and then one day I was just getting bombarded with tons of popups every few seconds and my computer was freezing up constantly and becoming completely unusable. I ran some of the basic scans in and out of safe mode - spybot, ATF-Cleaner, AVG, and a few others. It helped, but didn't completely fix the problem. I was still getting popups, and they started to get worse again. Eventually I tried to use Hijack This without someone else helping me, and I think that I deleted a thing or two that I shouldn't have - and it didn't fix the problem.

Thanks in advance for the help.

(also tried same method reset button and for a full minute instead of 10seconds)Took the battery out noticed a loose screw under the battery screwed that in, same trick, same result.checked connections all appear fine not entirely sure where to go from here. In the video 0:02 quick press on, 0:14 is a 10second hold power button i noticed the right fan is on briefly then off for the rest of said boot unsure if that's regular. 0:25 quick press. might notice the last one takes about 15seconds to start booting up and stays on longer than other boots. Each of these tests i get nothing on the display.I 'May' attempt to the take the monitor off to check its connection if nobody else has any suggestions. Thanks for your time. other specs:Intel Core i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz, 2 Core(s)8GB RAM256GB SSD Hard Drive13.9-inch FHD (1920×1080) Screen, Touchscreen EnabledQCA6174 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter, WirelessIntel, HD Graphics 620Intel, Sunr... I've had this problem for about a week now and can't seem to fix it. Basically, the text on every icon or windows menu on my computer is scrambled and unreadable. It looks like this.

The weird thing is if I copy the text from lets say my firefox icon and paste it into a notepad, it says Mozilla Firefox rather than the scrambled letters. I've tried troubleshooting the issue with a laptop next to my pc and comparing settings, but it all looks the same. I've also done numerous virus scans, registry cleaners, spyware scans, etc etc. Even my welcome screen which has my user accounts listed has scrambled text.

I really want to fix this issue without having to reload xp. If anyone can help me it would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
