I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

AGHammer wrote:Hey guys, Would anyone know if I can upgrade my laptop with dual 8 gb rams with 1600 mhz speed (G.Skill 2x8GB DDR3 1600Mhz SODIMM). Help would be appreciated! Thank youOne thing I'm sure of is that the memory will be dictated by the processor installed. Since you have not indicated the processor used I can't give you much detail. If you base it only on the specs you can only use 2 sticks or module with a max rating of 1333 Mhz each depending on the processor. As to the other specs details you have to locate the specs of the processor that you are using in the intel site. There you will know whether you can use 1600 Mhz plus other details. One thing for sure is that the max that you can use is 16 GB only if the processor allows it since you can't find a 16 GB module in the market to achieve 32 GB per processor spec.

Hi guys, so i just decided to upgrade the CPU in this notebook, as intel core i3 with 1,8GHz is not enough for me right at this moment and would like to get i5 so everything will run smoother. The question is: is it even possible? I upgraded the RAM memory in this notebook already, it was easy to put it into the socket but are there even some CPUs available for laptops and how can they be replaced if they exist? Thanks for any advance.

Hi, I am going to buy a used Lenovo IdeaPad Y700 15.6". The modelnr is 80NV00JWMX It has the following spesifications: Intel Core i5-6300HQ, Nvidia GTX 960M 2GB, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, 1 TB HDD (maybe a 8 GB flash drive). I have never owned a Lenovo, just several other brands. Will it be possible to upgrade this model with a SSD, and still have the 1 TB HDD? I am thinking of a M.2 Solid State Drive.  I am going to pick up the Lenovo later today. I just wanted to clarify this before I am picking it up.

I was wondering if anyone has upgraded or swapped out their hdd for a solid state drive on the Ideapad 305 15IBD? My specific model number is 80NJ00F5UK, I have been able to find an mSata ssd drive which says its compatible with the 305 IBD, but not the exact model number above.  To be honest Im pretty happy with the performance of the 1TB hdd that i have but just want to confirm whether its possible or not to swap out for an ssd if I wanted to in the future.  The main reason would be to squeeze a bit more battery life, as its one area where the laptop is a bit weak. mSata SSDhttps://www.ipc-computer.eu/notebook-spareparts/lenovo/300-serie/ideapad-305-15ibd-80nj005j/hdd-12

I was wondering, its there?s any way to upgrade my laptop or is it better to just sell it and buy a new one.

I have a lenovo ideapad y500 with a 1366x768 screen, and I am looking to pop open the screen, and replace the panel with a 1920x1080 screen. Assuming that I purchase another 15.6 inch screen (size of the original screen), is this possible? A model of the y500 is sold with a 1080p display, and the graphics card in my model is more than capable of outputting such a resolution. I was just wondering if there is a chance that the connections between my laptop and new screen would not match as I do not know if there is some sort of standard port with screens. Thanks!

A:Screen upgrade lenovo ideapad y500

You would need to find out the exact model of the 1080p screen was that was sold with that model and order the same one or compatible replacement model. Laptop screens are not universally interchangeable and you can't just buy any screen and connect it.

They're RAM sticks, not cards, and they're fairly easy to change out. I would suggest looking for something in the 1866mhz speed, though I think you need lower voltage memory. So I'd get something 1.35v or lower.

Hi, I recently received an Ideapad 700 that came with 8gb of RAM and a 1TB 5400rpm HDD with Win10 installed on it.  Because 5400rpm is rather slow, I purchased a 128GB M.2 SSD and installed it correctly.  The computer can see it and recognize it. My issue is I am having trouble transferring Win10 from the HDD to the SSD and getting it to boot from the SSD.  It seems it just defaults to the HDD and I am not sure where I am going wrong.  Currently I have wiped the SSD and am starting from square 1. Could anyone please help me out.  I don't want to break my wife's laptop before I get a chance to give it to her.  thanks!

Hello everybody! I am interested in buying the new Gaming Laptop Lenovo ideapad Y700-15ACZ in the TOP version with FX-8800P and 4GB R9-M385X. As I have seen, first offers come only having the 1TB WD slim hdd. So time to find out which will be the best M.2 SSD to add nearby. For this need to clarify first if the M.2 port is connected to the SATA III of the FX-8800P's internal southbridge only or if it has connection to PCIe lanes. The HMM https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_y700-15acz_hmm_201508.pdf tells on page 26 there is PCI Express Gen3 and SATA Gen3. For the hdd is written SATA III as note and for the ssd it is NGFF which means the same like you write M.2, so it is unclear. Btw - there are NO DDR4 ports on that model yet. On page 64 you find some oem M.2 ssd models that Lenovo offers to add. Those are SATA3 models like LiteOn CV-1 and Samsung PM871 with keys for "B+M". But this also doesn't mean anything more than might be badder choices. Have a look at the mainboard on page 48. You can see that the M.2 connector has only key M (right side) which means PCIe 3.0 (cpu) + SATA whereas key B (left side) would mean PCIe 2.0 (southbridge) + SATA. That M key port would allow to put in ssd cards like the Samsung SM951MZ-HPV (AHCI) model which might be the fastest using AHCI+PCIe or even the newest model Samsung SSD 950 pro which uses PCIe 3.0+NVMe only. But if there exists only a SATA III connection, the key should be "B only" instea... Read more

This results in me having insanely slow connection every single night around peak hours (7-11pm), and I'm unable to do anything like watching movies, playing games or download stuff. Does anyone know exactly how to upgrade the wireless card on this laptop so it supports 5Ghz networks? I am generally a Mac user, but wanted a PC to run a few apps I can't run on my Mac, and didn't want to partition my drive and use Boot Camp (I'd done this previously, and chose not to do it this time). A few days ago I purchased a Lenovo 110-15ISK laptop, model number 80UD0017US. I had been looking at an HP laptop, but read that it was not so user friendly when upgrading the RAM and hard drive, and passed on that one (for that specific reason), and saw this Lenovo in the local Best Buy on sale. I usually check things out pretty throughly before I purchase, but I have to admit, I didn't on this purchase. Although the laptop is nice, I was not pleased to find out that you pretty much have to disassemble half of the computer to be able to access the memory and hard drive. Not exactly what I was hoping for. Anyway, I've decided to leave the hard drive as is, since it's a 1TB (although I prefer SSD and upgraded my MacBook Pro to an SSD on day 1 and love it!). However, I definitely want to upgrade the RAM from 4GB. I was a little horrified to find out that the 4GB is soldered onto the motherboard, and that there's only one available slot for RAM. I've read up a bit on it, on both this forum and through Google and Bing searches, and it seems there are differing opinions on how much RAM this model can accept and still be stable. Some say it can take as much as a 16GB DDR4 stick bringing the memory up to 20GB, and some say that the max is a 4GB stick, bringing the RAM u... Read more

I've had this lenovo ideapad 510 for 2 months and it has been nothing but trouble. I've done too many fixes for it for just 2 months but now the fan noise is really unaccceptable. With just 3 tabs open it sounds like a jet taking off and I cannot use it while watching a movie on TV because it's too loud. I have been here on this forum for over a week trying to get a solution but am getting totally ignored. I guess Lenovo's customer service is as good as their products. Please post a fix that works, otherwise let's arrange for me to return this for 50% refund so I can get a laptop that actaully works. I've read the problem is that Lenovo is not compatible with Windows 10 and that is why it's a nigthmare. Why did you release this product with these confirmed problems?1. Touchpad sometimes goes crazy and can't be used2. Unnacceptable fan noise3. Memory and Disk running at 100%I feel cheated as I'm doing more technical work to rid this laptop of problems than actaully being able to browse the net or watch anything. Hello all I recently bought this laptop less than a week ago and have been having issues since the start. My problem is the switchable graphics. My pc specs are:Windows 10 64 biti5 6200-U 12gb ram2tb hddintel hd 5202gb radeon r7 m360 Now no matter what i do wheever i run a game it is using the intel hd 520 graphics instead of my dedicated. I have tried the following to resolve the issue:-Removed both the intel and amd drivers, (using DDU in safe mode afterwards to clean left overs) and then re installed both of them (the intel ones first) using the latest drivers from both the intel and AMD website.-I have changed the intel hd 520 power settings and the AMD ones. I have set it to axiise performance etc. I have also added all the launcher and ,exe files to use high performance in the AMD settings, I have the used various software (HWmonitor, gu-z, cpu-z) to monitor both the dedicated card and the intels card temperature and work load. I also use AMD monitor, and turn monitoring on in the AMD settings,Whenever i load a game and check the load, it ONLY the intel card working, and even though i have added the games to the AMD settings they do not show up in the monitoring section.- I have then read online that AMD and intel do not necessarily include "switchable" graphics in their driver updates and to use the ones on Lenovos webiste. So i have uninstalled them again (again using DDU) and then installed the drivers (intel and AMD VGA drivers), updted bios, and... Read more

Hi to evreyone! So recently I bought a brand new Lenovo Z710 (i7-4700mq, intel hd 4600 and nvidia gt745m). I then installed windows 8.1 (genuine) and all the drivers on the cd that came with the machine. But it seems there is a big problem with the graphics card. Nvidia gt745 seems like its not there. The Geforce Experience and nvidia control panel fail to recognize it, although it's there on Windows Driver Manager. When I try to load a game (WOW) it crashes on the loading screen. "Display driver has stopped responding..." bubble appears and a minute or so afterwards, there is a bsod. The game works on the integrated card (intel hd 4600) when nvidia is disabled or its driver is uninstalled.I tried reinstalling the drivers, downloading and installing the recent ones, removing all graphic drivers and reintalling them in different order, tried safe mode, changed some bios settings, but still nothing happened.Could this be any kind of driver compatibility issue or simply a windows thing, or is it a hardware problem? Could the nvidia be faulty or the laptop itself? I want to try anything before turning it back to where I bought it for a look... So your ideas will be vastly appreciated. Thanks!

Bought this machine in Dec 2016 and have not been able to use it at all because it keeps crashing every now and then with BSD.  It's under warranty.  Every time Lenovo engineer reinstalls the OS and it keeps crashing.  It's already 5 times they have done this. There seems to be no solution in sight and of late Lenovo engineers stopped responding to the issue in time.  It's nearly a week they collected coredump and event viewer data with no solution coming forward till now.  Lenovo is not willing to consider DOA. Currently, it's lying with me and unusable.  What's the solution to this problem?

Hard to tell because actaul StopCode is not visible in the image, but typically blue screens are an operating system issue related to hardware drivers, or corrupt system files, and are not hardware related.     It would if you could upload the actual C:\Windows\Memory.dmp file as it might point to the driver or system file at fault.

Hi guys, I just got my Lenovo ideapad 700 for about a week now. I've activated the dust removal option for a few days and the option never exist anymore in my Lenovo Companion app. I found out there are vibrating and loud stuttering and static coming from my laptop fan whenever I fire up some casual games such as Dota 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. The fan will return to normal after a reboot or after cooling down for sometime. But I'm afraid it's still an issue since I just got my new laptop for a week. What should I do? Please help.

I tryed to install recomended drivers for this moment but it showed me the message "No appropriate driver has been instaled for your system". After that I tried Lenovo easy cam driver but nothing happend. Next step was going into the Bios and enable it the camera from there but I couldn't find the camera there in my configuration setings. I have readed this forum to find solution for my problem but nothing works for me.There is any other way to solve my problem?
