I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The X6800 outclasses the AMD CPUs by a wide margin in virtually every circumstance of performance measurement. The CPU also runs cool in comparison to earlier Intel CPUs and consumes less than 75W. By any standard of measurement the X6800 is an success bringing Intel back on top.

The E6700 which has a rather interesting naming scheme considering it’s only 266MHz slower than the x6800 while having the same cache and structure is right in there with the x6800 in performance, slower than its bigger brother but faster than the competition. For a suggested MSRP of $530, the E6700 is an easy choice for those wanting a fast system without wanting to shell out a grand.

Is Intel HD Graphics Family better than Intel G41 express chipset?

The name is only Intel HD Graphics Family there isnt a number after it in dxdiag

A:Is Intel HD Graphics Family better than Intel G41 express chipset?

Intel G41 express is the very old, Core 2 equivalent on-motherboard-gpu aka Eaglelake. It only supports up to dx10, it has awful and old drivers, and incomplete opengl support (less apps can run on it). It can idle in recent games like Dota 2 with up to 30fps with everything on low. Key word: idle. Don't even think about playing under more than 15-20fps.

Intel HD Graphics Family is on-cpu-die-gpu aka Sandy Bridge, it's still old now, but does have support for dx11 and opengl, and it has a lot more raw power than x4500(g41), depending on the cpu. It even supports overclocking with sizeable improvements.

Really there is no contest between the two families.

Can I upgrade my Intel chipset to 4th generation for my Dell OptiPlex 780? I bought the machine as a refurbished unit which was updated to Windows 10. My goal is to be able to create Minecraft servers which I can't do with my current chipset. Intel said that they aren't creating the necessary drivers.

A:Intel 4th generation chipset - Is it compatible with OptiPlex 780?

There is no such thing as CHIPSET upgrade on any machine any vendor.
You cant put a core I3 I5 I7 chip into a 780.
Minecraft requires JAVA and a GPU  Radeon HD5450 is minimum requirement.
Minecraft on a 780 with linux or windows 7 or 8 or 10 works fine when you have a radeon 5450 minimum.
Radeon HD5xxx series is legacy so it requires legacy amd driver,

ASUS Silent Radeon  EAH 6450 is what i use.

You can only use Single slot low profile cards.

The EAH 6450 fits in all sizes except USFF because USFF has no slots.

I have a MSI A6200 with a 1.8ghz cpu, I want to upgrade to the fastest cpu possible,I am not sure if this is all I need to submit in order for you guys to help me or not, but it is a Intel-HM55 Chipset.
It is a older model spec wise (discontinued) not the one shown on the MSI website.
I would like a i5 or i7 cpu which is what is shown on the MSI website..for the newer (still-discontinued) model. I assume this would be possible since it is the same chipset?

I can run CPU-Z when I get home and provide more detailed specs if need be...
Thanks for any and all suggestions!

So, I've got an HP dc5100 MT. It's got an Intel 915GV Video Controller on a Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Chipset, or so I've been told. The chipset info visible on the mobo seems to corroborate that. I recently went from 32-bit Win 7 to 64-bit Win 7. Video used to work fine. Now, in 64-bit, I can't load a video driver that will let me select the proper wide-screen resolution for my monitor. It will only let me go up to 1280x1024. All sorts of info say that Intel never released Vista or Win 7 drivers for this chipset, because it was too old. Yet, I know that whatever I was running on 32-bit Win 7 was working fine. Either way, I found the old post below about apparently the same chipset.

http://forums.techguy.org/windows-7/943982-solved-windows-7-driver-intel.html

I tried following that, but when I go to the device manager to update the driver, it won't let me - even if I tell it to browse to a specific folder where I download some driver, it says, "The best driver software for your device is already installed. Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date." And, it won't let me move forward. See - Windows doesn't tell me I have a 915GV video controller - it just tells me it has a 'standard VGA graphics adapter'. But, I figured that's just because it's running the generic driver. Anyway, it doesn't seem to want to let me fix it. Any suggestions?

I have just bought a Dell GX280 bare bones pc. I need to buy a processor , memory, cd-rw-dvd reader etc.. Can anyone confirm that the 915G Express chipset comes in 478 or 775 pin form, or either.

The other query is: originally the pc had a WD400 hard disk in it. I would like at least a 80Gig drive, but am unsure whether the 80 Gig drive has the same
dimensions. Any other make is also good, but as I say, due to the pc being the small form factor type size is important.

If anyone can make any reccommendations for drives etc.. It would be very helpfull.

Thanks a lot guys. Regards, Graham.

Hello,

I've got Windows 8 Pro for my Dell Latitude D630, first it worked fine.
But then I installed Photoshop but that didn't work good due to a bad driver for my display adapter.
Now I've updated my driver (got the update from downloadcenter.intel.com) and my resolution is 1024x768 wich is lower than my display supports, so now everything is scaled up. I've found a lot other threads but they didn't help me. I've also tried some modded drivers and drivers for vista and xp. Nothing worked. And I couldn't find any support on the Intel site and Dell site.
So now I'am very frustrated and I hope you can help my (otherwise I have to throw my laptop out of the window and install Windows 7 and lose everything I have now installed)

P.s: I can't change my resolution using the settings cuz the dropbox isn't clickable.

Welcome to seven forums: Looks like an overheating problem. I would first try some canned compressed air and blow out the exhaust and intakes. Of course after the system has been shut down to cool down. But as bad as it is it could be a bad card, make sure yo have all the latest drivers. But since this appears after a couple of hours i would hedge a bet it is overheating, which may have caused your card to go bad as well. My opinion. fabe

This is weird. I have an HP Pavilion with Intel 915 Express Graphics Chipset and 128 MB Video Ram.
When I launch a program window that has opacity less than 100% (partially transparent) if I see the window client area fill with Black, then paint, when I move that window it will "stutter" instead of being dragged smoothly with the mouse. If the window opens normally, I can drag it with the mouse smoothly.
I have the latest Intel graphics drivers installed direct from the Intel support download page.

It's really strange because there's no way to predict when it will happen. If my video was unable to handle the graphics it would do it all the time. Also there's no correlation to system load. It can do it with only a few programs running or move smoothly with lots of programs running.

Really baffling!!

I'm running XP Professional 32 bit SP 2.

A:intel 915 express graphics chipset "stutter"

If the system is unable to handle the load, it would do it all the time. But, if it's just a matter of load from running programs - then the problem would surface when the combination of running programs caused an issue with the video display.

For example, if another program is occupying your memory - then there won't be enough RAM to continually refresh the view. This would force the refresh onto your pagefile, and the lag from the disk would cause this particular issue.

To prove/refute this, open a whole bunch of stuff and get it working - then try the window movement.
It should stutter for you then.
Then close all the open stuff (to include the stuff in the System Tray by the time) and try the window movement again.
The stutter should stop (or be reduced).

You can view some of this in the Task Manager...Performance tab

I was wondering if it is possible for me to just take out my Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family and replace it with the GE Force FX 5900 128mb AGP.

Intel integrated cards on laptops are definitively not meant for gaming as they have lower clock rates and a small amount of video memory, you won't be able to run most games at a good resolution and most of them will lag a lot

I don't know for sure whether your machine has both the Nvidia GPU and the integrated GPU but assuming that machine has some sort of power saving switchable graphics option, you will have to force the machine to start up using the integrated graphics chip by selecting it in BIOS and/or disabling the Nvidia GPU in device manager in order to install the driver. Let me know if you need instructions on how to do so.

I was wondering if there is another driver out there to get the Intel Graphics Properties Menu or another way to change contrast.

Thanks

EDIT: Sorry, this may belong in the driver forum.

A:Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Question

I have the same chipset you have and my display works on x86 and x64. However, the defaults for the Intel driver DOES NOT have the ability to change contrast unfortunately. That said, I can adjust brightness and resolution as needed. It looks ok to me.

Oh I just noticed you are new here. Welcome to Sevenforums.com!!!

Edit: What build of Windows 7 x64 are you using? You might try an upgrade to 7127.

Hi all,

I just wanted to know if it was possible to use Intel Mobile 4 Series Express Chipset drivers with Windows 8. I've read that you could use the drivers for Windows 7 in Windows 8, but I haven't really proven that to be true.

I keep getting this error:

but I really don't get why I'm getting that message - it's giving me this message like I'm trying to run the software on a computer from the '90s. It really doesn't make sense to me since just about all other software can run on newer operating systems.

All I want to know is if it's possible to install these drivers on my computer, and if not, if there's a patch or a substitute.

Thank you for any answers.

The only thing that will give you better performance is a proper video card (assuming a desktop).

I'd really appreciate some help here, as I have not been able to find any solution to this problem
Within the last year (I can't really remember when) I had to do a clean reinstall of windows 7, and that's when this problem cropped up. Every time I try to update this chipset, I get a black screen. (it bounces between normal resolution, and a really low one, centered in the middle of the screen before blacking out) Upon restarting I can get to see the windows logo, but once at the login screen, it is black again. So I am able to start in safe mode and restore to an earlier point.

Occasionally the current display driver quits, and then fixes itself. Seems to happen randomly.
Will be getting a new computer soon, but I'd still love for this one to be usable.
Using Photoshop CC daily, and with the current display, I get lots of problems and Photoshop has locked me out of using certain tools due to the issue with the driver.

I have Toshiba Satellite L300 with Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family graphics card. I download older drivers from intel site. Unpack it using Total Commander, right click on setup.exe, properties, compatibility tab and check "Run this program in compatibility with" and choose Windows 7. Also at the end of the same tab, under Privilege level check "Run this program as an administrator". Click OK and run setup. If you have problem I will upload my drivers (for Windows 8 Pro x64) but I need a few hours becouse of little upload speed.
PS. Sorry for my bad english

Ran into a problem with my laptop... If I watch something on Youtube, my graphics driver stops working.
I can't find any Win8 driver for my graphics card so I'm using a Win7 driver that I installed in compatibility mode.
Does anyone know how I can stop it from crashing? And will Intel give out a Win8 driver for the Mobile Intel 4 Express Chipset family?

The crashing is making me go insane because I have to restart Chrome for the video to work again.

Have you got the version 8.15.10.2702?, I think it's the latest, if you want you could try different version of driver and see whether it works better, for example, you could try 8.15.10.2697, it may say it's for different chipset but worth a try.

The full description of the display adapter is: " Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1) ".

Can this computer support dual monitors? Not the same thing on each screen, an extension of the desktop, each screen to display something else.

The computer itself has one VGA port and one HDMI port.

The two screens I have, both have VGA and one also has DVI.

Hello,

I've been to Intel's website, and downloaded both the .exe and the .zip files of the subject driver, and neither one of the installation packages work. It gets toward the end and comes back with "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver installer has encountered a problem and needs to close." I've also reported this to Intel's tech support via email (as this is the only method of contact that they seem to accept). I was asked a bunch of questions by way of a form, that had nothing to do with their installation package crapping out. So to make a long story short, I have to wait until Intel gets back with me, but really need the driver in a more expedient amount of time. Would any of you kind folks happen to have it available to send to me? Hopefully?

Thank you,

WThorpe

I have mobile intel 945 express chipset for my hp pavillion dv5000 laptop. Is there a windows 7 update for the driver? and what is the maximum resolution if anyone knows? Before I upgraded to windows 7 I didn't check how high the screen resolution can go but hopefully I can make it larger because everything is so compressed at 1024 x 768 I want to see it in a larger resolution but I'm not sure if there is an upgrade or if it's even possible.

If there is an updated driver for your chipset it can be found using the driver update utility available at Intel? Driver Update Utility.

This should sort you out.

If your system is an OEM build, such as Dell/Gateway/Compaq/ etc.

Go to your computer manufacturers website, where you should be able to find all the drivers you need.

If your computer is a custom built job, then you should go to your mobo manufacturers website for the drivers.

On the one hand, not sure what you mean as to white vs blue

On the other hand, not sure it matters. My best advice is to run the Intel® Driver Update Utility and let it choose the correct chipset drivers for you.

Hi, I hope someone can help me.
I was using the Paint app on my vista when it started to become very slow and unresponsive.I was still able to use it but it was very very slow...then it started to totally freeze up my computer to where I couldn't even get task manager to come up
so I could end the program.. it got progressively worse and now I can't use the paint app at all.

I checked the laptop with a diagnostic tool that I found and it said there is a problem with the
Intel Graphics Driver Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset family 7.15.10.1591.
This was not really an error message that popped up, it just was a "statement" that said it
was not working properly and gave me suggestions on what to do such as checking for driver
updates, cleaning registry.
I checked and there are no updates for this driver, it is up to date. I scanned the registry and swept it and I'm still having the problem.
Still can't use the paint app at all.
Can I fix this driver? Should I do a restore to an earlier date? This only started happening a day or so ago.

Also when I checked the status in device manager it says that the device is working properly!
That really confused me..because one part of the computer says there's a problem and the other
says it's working fine. I am praying that you're not going to tell me to uninstall and re-
install the driver ...I'm afraid that may be too advanced for me.
(I am only assuming that the paint app ... Read more

I would suggest that you try restoring to an earlier point, before you damaged your registry by "cleaning" it, and before the problem with your machine was serious.

I will be installing a Nvidia FX8500GT into a new Dell with Intel express chipset family g33/g31 and Vista Home Premium x64. Do I need to remove the Intel chipset drivers first? I downloaded the drivers for my new card and system to desktop and am pausing there until further instructed. Card is not physically installed yet either. Thanks beforehand for help.

A:First vga card in Dell system with Intel Express Chipset.

It would probably be best to uninstinall the current video drivers under Display Adapters in device manager, shut down, physically install the card, startup and cancel Vista's automatic driver installation so you can install the downloaded drivers.

You may also need to disable the integrated video adapter in BIOS
