I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Had to reinstall windows (10 pro 64bit) because of problems with fingerprint reader not working (after Lenovo replaced the fingerprint reader). Since the reinstall, the auto rotate feature does not work. None of the settings in the Action Center, or under Settings|Display, can restore this. The toggle switch for 'Lock rotation of this display' is greyed out under Settings|Display. What's going on?

Hi. I just purchased a Lenovo Yoga 910. The rotation lock button is there, but for some reason I cannot auto rotate the screen even in tablet mode. I have turned on all of my sensors and updated all of the drivers. Is there anything else I can try. Best Buy Geek Squad had no idea.

I jsut got the 910, and dicided to make a clean installation of win 10, to upgrade to pro. After the installation, I don't have the "tablet features" as auto rotate and auto tablet mode detection. I have read other places about auto rotate setting in the display settings, and action center, but I don't have these available. I have reinstalled all the drivers, which was included on the Lenovo D: drive partition. Basicly im not sure wether to (re)install some drivers, or what is needed. or if I should return the pc to factory settings.

I have a Yoga 3 Pro and my screen doesn't auto-rotate anymore. It used to work fine. I've done a lot of searching and reading and see that there should be an "auto" or "manual" rotation options in display settings, but I don't have that option. I'm running Windows 10 Home and windows is up to date and all of my drivers are up to date. Any suggestions for how I can get this working would be greatly appreciated!

Windows 8.1 Pro x64
Yoga 14 (20FY), two weeks old.

Installed Win 8.1 from bootable USB when I got it. Installed drivers I needed from the Lenovo driver site. There is no sensor driver on their site.

I have tried it only in tent and tablet mode as it?s supposed to. There is no windows rotate lock button there is no windows rotate button.

I have downloaded all the drivers and auto rotate still does not work. I have tried ThinkVantage. I have tried installing the 20DM and 20DN drivers and they also do not work. It requires me to update net framework which I cannot find the download to and I cannot change the net framework version in the registry.

I have tried emailing Lenovo in Australia because the US does not have a support email. It does not seem like they will be of any use since it has been two weeks.

In the device manager, the only devices under sensors is Windows Location Provider. There should be Simple Orientation Manager and HID Sensor Collection but I cannot find the drivers for them anywhere.

Are there any generic drivers I can download?

I just updated to Win 10 on Yoga S1. A strange problem occured regarding auto rotate. When the laptop is in landscape mode (normal mode), the physical "Enable/Disable Autorotate" button doesn't work, and the Autorotate button in the action center button is disabled. However, when I physically rotate my laptop, the screen rotates, and suddenly, both buttons now are active. This defeats the purpose of the button since it can't lock rotation when the laptop is in landscape mode. Anyone having this problem too?

Hi Guys, I bought the Yoga 13 with Windows 8 but the non pro version.  I wanted the pro version on so I can connect to a domain so I did a clean install - where I deleted the partition with the old OS. Everything went great and all drivers that were are on the other partition that I left alone installed fine. Here is the problem:  I noticed that the auto-rotate functionality no longer works.  After doing some research I found that the HID Sensor Collection is what controls this.  If I look at the device manager I can see that their is a exclamation point next to the HID Sensor Collection Driver along with the Light Sensor driver. They both give me the error:  This device cannot start (Code 10). The process hosting the driver for this device has terminated. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver - this didn't help.I've tried searching for this driver online - no luck.I tried using the "update driver software" and it says:  Windows has determined that your driver software for this device is up to date. Any ideas how I can get the HID Sensor Collection working? Thanks for your help!

Sorry, I don't have a solution. But I think I followed the same steps you did and my sensors do work - they are a little flaky (i.e. the compass sometimes tells me south is north) but that's not the same thing as your issue ;-)I deleted the original OS partition but left the LENOVO partition in place. I made 2 new partitions, installed Win8 on one, put my data on the other. Then I ran each one of the driver installers in the LENOVO partition. Device Manager does not show me any problems. The HID Sensor Collection driver says:Driver Provider: MicrosoftDriver Date: 4/21/2009Driver Version: 6.2.9200.16433Digital Signer: Microsoft WindowsThe two files listed are in System32/Drivers:UMDF/SensorsHIDClassDriver.dllWUDFRd.sys

The moment I got this laptop, I was having palm rejection issue when I wrote in Microsoft One Note (I use it for school). I just dealt with it. Then it crashed one day and give me "inaccessible_boot_device" error.I was able to restore it to previous point through Windows 10 recovery. But then after the 3rd time of doing that, the restore point was not there anymore. Then I left the computer to run "automatic repair" at the Lenovo boot screen. That failed. So, I installed my own windows 10 version 1607 (I wiped the Lenovo recovery portion of the drive). Now the screen would not auto rotate in tablet mode and the keyboard and touchpad will not work once I go from tablet mode to laptop mode. I have to restart the computer for the keyboard and touchpad to work again. Lenovo tech suport spent 2 hours installing and uninstall updates and drivers. It still did not work. They said it was Microsoft's problem. Lenovo tech support gave up and told me to contact Microsoft. I has been trying to access Lenovo USB Recovery Center for the past month, but it has been down. Hello!I've bought used Lenovo Yoga 2 13 few days ago. It had installed Windows 10 Home on it but since I didn't wanted to have any files from previous owner I've wiped entire drive and reinstalled it. Windows have taken care of all the drivers so I haven't any problems here, but I've never get to work any tablet capabilities of this laptop. To be accurate the keyboard locks out when laptop is in full tablet mode but you'll bend it just few degrees and you have turned on keyboard and touchpad again. Rotation doesn't work at all so I can forget about any modes between laptop mode and tablet mode. I've installed all the drivers, I've installed Yoga Mode Control but... it simply doesn't work at all. I have all the files, I have a YMC service that is "officially" working in the background but it doesn't do anything and turning it on and off makes no difference. I even installed Lenovo Vantage but that didn't help too. So after a week I've decided to downgrade this machine to Windows 8.1 since this laptop was made specifically for this system and there was also that Lenovo Transition software. And I did it. Now I have Windows 8.1. I've downloaded all the drivers and also the Lenovo Transition. But guess what... it doesn't work at all too. I've checked old version, then 2.0 version, then YMC again and all of them does not work at all. YMC actually "works" the same way as Windows 10 version. I have no idea what that could be. Hello, I was hoping that someone could shed some light on this subject. When I first bought this computer the only issues that I had were that the Windows 10 settings as well as the control panel settings were not indexed properly, and would not show up when I searched for them. After performing a recovery multiple times without any luck using the built in recovery option I decided to use the Windows 10 recovery media creation tool and reinstalled Windows 10 that way. This fixed the settings indexing problem, but now I have another problem. I can't seem to get the auto-rotate feature to work at all. I have installed the drivers for my particular model of laptop through the Lenovo Support page but my screen still won't rotate when I change orientations. Any information/suggestions would be a big help. Thanks!

A:Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14 auto-rotate problem

Hi, welcome to the forums.

I was not able yet to be sure which is the driver that manages the autorotation on Windows 10 for this TPY 14. But I think it can be good for you to install the latest driver available for it and some Lenovo tools that are utilities to manage the computer.

Here are my general tips.

1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers (use the full model number of your Thinkpad).

I just did a clean install of Windows 10 on my Thinkpad Yoga 14. I've attempted to install all of the drivers that I could. The only thing missing for the laptop is that I cannot get it to auto-rotate when in tablet mode. The auto-rotate setting is missing from the action center and going into display settings doesn't have any option to allow auto-rotation. I've also tried enabling the Sensor, the Sensor Monitoring service and the Sensor Data Service with no luck. What are the requirements to get this working? Thanks!

When using the Yoga 370, the Autorotate button comes up on the left hand side of the screen, the screen freezes ( I am unable to type any more) and then the thinkpad goes to sleep. I have to wait a couple of minutes, then press the on button and the thinkpad will come back on. I will not have lost any data by this sudden action. But it is extremely annoying when I am trying to take minutes etc in a meeting when I am unable to use my thinkpad for several minutes at a time. This does not happen when I have the thinkpad plugged into an external keyboard. Any suggestions please as to how I can resolve this? Thanks,Caroline

A:Yoga 370 - Auto Rotate comes up and sends thinkpad to sleep

I have not heard of this before.  When this problem happens, are you using the thinkpad in laptop mode, or some other mode (such as tablet, tent, stand)?  Also, I'm a little bit confused what you mean by "the autorotate button comes up on the left hand side of the screen" - do you mean the "Autorotate on" indicator that appears in top left of screen?

Hello Community,I have a relatively new (3 weeks) Yoga 920. I frequently read PDFs and like to switch to tablet portrait mode. I am not quite sure when the following issue happened, but sometime in the last week or so the machine quit the automatic process when you physically put the machine in tablet mode. I had some digging around and found the ymc service was not running, I tried to start it, but I got this message. I made sure all "auto rotate" locks were off. I restarted the machine, to no avail, the service was still stopped. I repeated this process an extra time or two, no dice. I then reinstalled the ymc driver, no change. From here I decided a bios update may not hurt (currently on ver. 5NCN36WW), that didn't help. I tried restarting the machine while in tablet mode (manually toggled from the notifications area) this didn't work either. Additional symptoms: When manually put into tablet mode (via the toggle in the notifications area) then taken out of this mode, the mouse pointer will disapper and the trackpad appears not to be working. Putting the computer to sleep then waking it seems to fix this issue. This does not occur when using a wireless mouse. Has anyone found a fix for the screen/computer not translating into tablet mode when the machine is physically put into a tablet configuration? I believe the ymc service refusing to run, even after manually telling it to is the issue, but I have no idea on how to fix it. Thanks in advance,-Skyehawk

I just got a new flex 5 and I love the thing. The only thing that?s a bit off is when I try to use it as a tablet or in tent mode. The screen does not rotate. I have rotation lock turned off, having double checked several times. I understanding is that the laptop should detect when it?s it table mode and auto rotate the screen as needed.  But it none of this happens. I have to manually turn on table mode via the action center and manually rotate the screen via the display setting in the control panel.  Not the end of the world, but is there a setting that I?m missing? Hello guys, I had my lenovo flex 3-1120 hard disk replaced after a hard disk failure. I then installed windows 8 Pro N on my newly NTFS formatted hardrive (the orginal one was formatted as GPT). Hi everyone! A couple of days ago I took my yoga to work and was using my headphones and since then I cannot get the speakers to work. I can still use my headphones and the sound works just fine. I had a similar issue once before, but with the microphone, not the speakers but managed to fix that myself. I updated the drivers and rebooted my laptop. When I go on playback devices the speakers are active and supposedly working (e.g. when I have music playing in the background it shows it moving on the bars, but I cannot hear anything). I also ran the Windows Audio Troubleshooter which did not help. I also had a system update two days ago, but the speakers were not working prior to that. I doubt that it is a hardware problem, considering that the speakers were working fine just before I plugged my headphones in. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?  Thank you in advance!

HiHave been loving my Yoga 900 but the touchscreen has started acting up.  While it seems there are lots of issues with Yoga touchscreens I didn't find one quite like myne.I realised it works okay in laptop mode but as soon as the screen gets to about 100 to 120 degrees rotation - so before reaching the switch point to tablet mode - the touchscreen becomes unresponsive.  If rotate it back so it's 90 degrees or so then it starts working again.  If I boot with screen rotated then device manager has an exclamation mark for an I2C HID device, status says "This device cannot start. Windows 10 auto rotates photos - now when I drag and drop photos to word 10, I have no idea which way they will rotate - all portrait become landscape = as I use many tens of photos per report this is really annoying.

With win 7, I could just drag and drop straight into a word table portrait remained portrait, landscape remained landscape.

can I disable auto rotate? is there another work around as I like win 10

A:Win 10 - disable auto rotate for photos

Word 10?? That's a relatively old program, part of Office XP/2002 and the issue could be caused by an incompatibility with Win10.
Or did you mean Word version 14 which is part of Office 2010?

Hello,

Hopefully someone can help! My work has recently purchased a tablet which comes with Windows 8 and the ability to recognize when the device has been rotated and thus rotate the screen. Yesterday, I installed Windows 7 on the tablet and noticed it doesn't have the auto-rotate function and I can't seem to find a driver for this!

I wonder if it's an integrated part of Windows 8? In Device manager it comes under "Sensors" and it's labelled as "Simple Device Orientation Sensor"

Any ideas?

Thanks in advanced.

A:Windows 7 Tablet - Auto Rotate

I have found the driver - this thread can be closed. Thank you.

The driver was part of the "Tablet Easy Access" utility on the Toshiba website.

After a recent set of MS updates build 1511, the screen will no longer auto-rotate. I have updated all the applications and drivers from 'support.dell.com' without any luck.
Maybe worth noting?.. There is an error (exclamation point "!") for the Intel High-Definition Audio Driver.
Anyone else seen this ??

A:XPS 12 (9250) Screen will NOT Auto-Rotate

I have the same problem as well, I deal with it in mainly two ways:
1. I use the Ctrl-Alt-arrow key to manually force the screen orientation.
or
2. I hit the sleep button and immediately wake up the device and the device will start to auto rotate.
I know it's supposed to work better than this but this is a quick and simple solution for now.
