External Monitor, extreme heat issue

Q: External Monitor, extreme heat issue

My laptop is a Compaq Presario F504EA. I have had an external 19" LCD Monitor running sometimes in parallel and sometimes independantly with the laptop. It has its own Power supply, and is only connected to the laptop through a VGA cable.

I was wondering if this could cause the laptop to extremely overheat. With this, the laptop would be un touchable on the bottom side due to extreme heat.

I had also recently upgraded my ram from 1 to 2GB. Would this of had an effect on the heat aswell ?

It is currently in repair due to my keyboard being intermittent along with my wireless; i believe the heat as melted joints or something on the motherboard.

Thanks
Oliver

Preferred Solution: External Monitor, extreme heat issue

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

when was the last time you spray dusted the laptop, that should help the heat issue. but adding more ram should not cause any more than normal heat, the extra monitor might cause more heat cause of the extra power going through the video card, but it should not make it untouchable.

i would try to spray dust the vents and also check to make sure all the fans are working.

need some advice re options for operation of laptop under extreme external heat conditions. my son is deploying somewhere hot (sometimes in excess of 40 degrees C). he wants to take his Toshiba laptop with him.

Word coming back from people already there or recently returned is of laptop shutdowns (heat related) and sometimes the odd fried processor.

given its a lap, options are limited. use would be from a fixed site, with external power available.

beyond a cooling mat type product that I would not be confident in, any other ideas?

thanks

Hello all!  I'm new to the Lenovo community.  I received my first ever ThinkPad X1 Extreme last week.  So far, I'm really enjoying it.  I've been running stress tests and find that the temperature runs at a high of 98c and the system does thermal throttle.  I've started to tinker with the undervolting and the so far I'm at -0.120v.  The system will still run at about 94c and throttles.  I haven't tried to adjust any lower then that.  I plan on opening the case and inspecting the factory paste.  My plan was to remove the paste and replace it with the graphite thermal pad.  I was hoping that by dropping to -0.120v that I would have noticed a better than 4c drop.   Has anybody else tried undervolting and/or adjusting other settings to keep the CPU a touch cooler? Thank you!

Wondering if anyone has come across this problem before. I have a brand-new X1 Extreme (bought in March) and a 4-year-old Dell 27" 4K monitor. In the last few days, I've had really low fps when using the monitor, while the built-in display works fine. This is all at the Windows desktop, ie not games or anything that should be super-demanding. Some more details:Laptop is running Windows 10 Pro 1903, fully updated, and there are no problems in Device ManagerThe resolution is 4K, 60Hz refresh rate, connected to a Thunderbolt port via a DisplayPort-USBC cableI had the same problem when I tried connecting with HDMI (which only gets me a nominal 30Hz refresh rate because the monitor only supports an older HDMI spec, but the actual fps I get is way less than that ? maybe 10-15fps)Switching between TBolt ports doesn't helpSwitching to a different monitor also doesn't help, suggesting the problem is with Windows and/or the laptopInterestingly, if I duplicate the display on both laptop and monitor, then the problem goes away. It comes back when I set Windows to display on only the monitor. The monitor was mostly working fine before this. I say mostly, because it's had problems for years relating to waking up from sleep; I'll often have to unplug it from the wall and plug it back in again for Windows to see it. But once it was running, it was okay.

Is there a special settings I **bleep** missing somewhere?  Please advise.

So, first of all my idea was to connect two external monitors to my brand new Lenovo X1 Extreme gen 2 notebook. I connected one monitor via HDMI port and this one is working perfectly. For the other monitor I bought USB-C to HDMI adapter (this one https://www.links.hr/content/images/thumbs/004/0043398_adapter-delock-usb-type-c-m-na-hdmi-z-alt-nac...) and I'm not getting any video signal to my second monitor. At first, I thought that maybe there is an issuse with the adapter but I tried it on my desktop PC and it's working just fine. Furthermore, I searched like 5 hours for every post on Google that includes problems with the USB-C display. The things that I already did for solving this issuse are: 1) Chagning the thunderbolt security in BIOS2) Changing Secure boot in BIOS3) Changing from Hybrid to Discrete Graphics in BIOS4) Checking Thunderbolt software for connected device (no devices connected)But none of them solved my issue. So, is there anyone who maybe know what is the problem or this is the issue with the motherboard and I have to send to maintenance servis?P.S. USB-C as input is working fine.

Dear all, I'm new to this forum and would appreciate your advice on the following. I've always had ThinkPads. I recently got a Macbook Pro 15" 2017 for work and it's super smooth in daily operation when  connected to an external 4k monitor. I'm keen to replicate the smoothness as I hate the visual lag of the cursor etc. in my older T460s when connecting it to the 4k monitor. I like the X1 Extreme because it has longer battery life than the P1. However, I'm concerned that the X1 Extreme's graphics card won't be up to the job of a smooth display on a 4k external monitor. Am I right in saying that the X1 Extreme's GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is NOT up to the job of running on a 4k external monitor smoothly in everyday operation? If yes, will it be solved by the GTX 1650 Max-Q that's in the X1 Extreme Gen 2?If I'm wrong and the graphics cards above are actually fine, please help me understand what I need to make sure I order so that the laptop runs on a 4k external monitor smoothly. I cannot stand the lag in ordinary operation.BestNamir

A:Your advice: X1 Extreme vs P1, external 4k monitor etc.

I should have added:The 4k monitor that I will be connecting my new Thinkpad to is the BenQ PD3200U.

I'm debating on what type of external monitor to get for my X1E, and I'm leaning heavily towards a 34" QHD monitor, but one question I have is how well can the 1050-ti handle the monitor? Mostly productivity but some gaming,  Older games like Fallout 4, but also some newer ones like Outer Worlds.  To be honest, I'm not sure how well Outer Worlds will play on the X1E, never mind a large monitor. I'm currently running with a FHD monitor and I'm looking for something that will give me more screen real estate

Hi

ive been looking all over the internet for a solution to my problem...

basicaly my screen wont turn on when my computer turns on, the light just flashs like it does when the computer is not on and the screen is turned on...

my problems started when for some reason my system kept locking up while playing WOW (world of warcraft) after a while i suspected a heat problem and saw in the Nvidia console my idle heat temp was over 90 degrees c and sky rocketed on a game! until the comp locked up and was forced to shut off the comp...

i had not touched or changed anything inside my comp before this after reading a few forums i concluded that posibly re applying thermal gel to the GPU could solve the issue... well it did idle temp receeded back to 60 degrees i was happy lol, then a week later it took a while to start up my comp i had to power up my comp a few times for the screen to come on, and now it wont turn on at all , the fans on the card all work it just seemslike the card is dead apart from that cos the monitor is not picking up a thing, ive tried another monitor same problem...

it is a dell computer ive had since 2005 Q1, XP SP2, 6800 GeForce GTO card and i cannot get into bios since the screen does does not come on at all, it might also be worth mentioning that although the screen does come on the computer does seem to load up to the xp login screen i think

Thank You

I have a thinkpad X1 type 20MF and when I used my external monitor it's so slow that I have the feeling that my entire brain is slowed down.I'm up to date according to Lenovo Vantage. I'm using it at work. I do not play games on it. I observe the slow refresh rate problem with only the file explorer window, or firefox. I tried with both a Full HD and 4K resolution. It's the same.I'm using the dock (USB-C dock). If I connect the external display without the dock I still face the issue. EDIT: I've observed that the issue is happening only if I display on external screen only. If I duplicate the content on both screens, or if I extend the desktop to the screen 2 it's fine. I'm really considering returning it. Moderator edit: Added detail to Subject.  Vantage screenshot

Hi, I just received my X1 Extreme Gen 2, configured with top specs. My configuration is for home-office, so the first thing I do is connect an external monitor and wireless keyboard+mouse. I also work most of the time on the large monitor, with the laptop lid closed. What I did:. Run all updates available for Windows 10 Pro and via Lenovo Vantage (so everyhting is up to date).. Connect Dell monitor via HDMI. Works perfectly when laptop lid is open.. Configured laptop so when lid is closed, it does nothing.. Lapop power management is configured for "performance". What happens:As soon as I close the laptop lid, whatever graphics I have running on the external monitor (youtube video, browsers, etc...), even the mouse movement, becomes very choppy or lagging. When I reopen the laptop lid, the issue goes away. Any idea how to solve this problem? Thanks!

A:X1 Extreme Gen2: External monitor choppy "only" when laptop lid is closed

SOLUTION: it turns out that the "external PnP monitor" driver needs to be updated separately. While laptop lid is open and external monitor is connected, go to display settings, select the external display, and find your way to update the driver. In the end, Windows will automatically find your specific monitor's driver, and replace the "generic" one. After this update, the external monitor worked perfectly with laptop lid closed. Hope it helps.

Hi,Just bought a X1 extreme and got 2 serious issues that prevent me from working, -First, it seems impossible to plug a mic on the mixed connector. When I do that, realtek app see it as a speaker (or do not see it at all), and so I'm stuck with the utterly bad microphone embedded with the laptop. It is a microphone with no drivers, always used it on other computers just by pluging it and that's all.The only thread I found on that subject is this one https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/x1-headphone-mic-jack-NOT-WORKING/m-p/508115 (which does not answer to my issue) -My second issue is with the active pen 2 from lenovo. It seems to work well with windows bloc note and sketch app but on photoshop the active pen 2 levels of pressure once every 4 or 5 strokes is no more detected and so this stroke appears much wider than the others. I would love to know if there is drivers that will come or workaround because right now I can't use my laptop profesionnaly. Thanks.

I have a Thinkpad X1 Extreme (20MF000CUS) connected to two external 4K monitors via Lenovo Thunderbolt Workstation Dock (40AN0230US). Windows 10 desktop extends to all 3 displays.Everything works really well except for a major annoyance: normally I have a bunch of apps/windows I leave open on all 3 monitors. Whenever I put the laptop to sleep and I then resume it later on, all app/windows I left open are automatically resized, moved and stacked up on the primary (laptop) display. Is this by design? Anyway to prevent this behaviour?I noticed that the laptop display is handled by the Intel graphic card while the two external displays are handled by the nVidia graphic card. Could this be the reason?

My issue at the moment is everything is way too big on the laptop screen. I want to have 1920x1080 resolution but its way too big. I googled what is my resolution on it and it shows 1536 x 864. Can someone tell me how to change this to 1920x1080? I googled what is my resolution on the external monitor and it does show 1920x1200 which is correct.

My external monitor which is my main monitor is fine at the moment with the 1920x1200. Its windows 10 but im assuming this should be very similar to windows 7 to fix this issue?

So, got my X1E a couple of weeks ago, with i7 8750H, FHD screen version.Ran Cinebench for a couple of times, scored in the 950-1050 range most of the time (a bit higher with undervolting)What struck me the most is that according to XTU monitoring graph, the CPU temp surges all the way to 97-100C immediately under any kind of load, especially benchmarks, and stays there, obviously inducing temp-trottling. Any run of Cinebench is comprized of 100% temp-trottled time, with occasional power-trottled interleaving. Is that normal? Any other X1E owners are very much welcome to chip in on this, my gut feeling tells me it's not ok for CPU to work on 100C for extended periods of time.Well, that's just half the story, PLEASE bear with me to the end it gets WAY worse and I'd really like some suggestions So I played a little GTA5 to see if it's at all possible -- all without much trouble, some heat, not extreme. CPU mostly under 85C.Next comes the real stuff. Finally got around to install Arch Linux to be able to do my works stuff properly (got very much used to it, I'm a software developer)After some time fiddling with rEFInd I got a minimal system, got my graphic environment up, proceeded to install my usual environment.Ocasionally, I'd get trottling warnings (while still setting up stuff in framebuffer console) but nothing too critical. Then comes along a package that needs to be compiled from source -- this is where things get ugly. After a couple of minutes of compiling the X1E just comp... I have a Toshiba laptop that has a broken LCD screen. I've been hooking it up to an external monitor to use it but I've encountered problems doing so. Every time I start the computer, I have to F8 and choose "Enable VGA monitor" in order for it to come up and stay on the external monitor. If I don't do that, it comes up only momentarily on the external monitor and then the signal is lost and I get a black screen. Once the external monitor is up, the display is in low resolution and if I attempt to change the settings, the external monitor goes off and then will not come back on. This is a problem because I can only see a 2 inch strip on the left side of the laptop screen which leaves me unable to shut down properly. I have tried both settings on the laptop for external display only or simultaneous displays and it doesn't make any difference. I have tried to extend the laptop display to a second monitor by setting the properties to dual view which doesn't work either. There is an option on the laptop's graphics card settings to "clone" the display to a second monitor but that will not work either. I have 5 different monitors I have tried using with this laptop but they all do the same thing. I know my monitors are capable of a much higher resolution than what they are showing. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P25 S507 and is a 17" widescreen. Any ideas on what's going on would be welcomed.

I have a Toshiba Tecra S3 laptop, running Windows XP Pro Sp2. When I plug in an external monitor, the laptop automatically starts up with the external monitor as the primary display and I can then go into settings and extend the display to the laptop screen. All fine so far. However, what I want to do is to play video on the external monitor and have other applications such as web browser on the laptop screen. However, no matter what I try, I cannot get this to work.

I can play the video on the laptop screen and other programs can be viewed on the external monitor, but I don't want that. The reason for the external screen is so that I can view video at better quality than the laptop screen will give me.

If I move the video window to the external monitor it goes there OK, but the video continues to play in full screen mode on the laptop screen as well. If I try to move other application windows to the laptop screen, the full screen video stays on top and the other windows cannot be accessed. There are no video controls accessible from the laptop screen, only from the video software on the external screen.

Can anyone tell me what I have to do to have the video only play on the external monitor, and have the laptop screen available for other things? The video software I have been using is VLC and Windows Media Player.

I recently got a 24" 1920 x 1080 external LCD monitor for my laptop. It's awesome. I've been using laptops only for many years and now I'm very sorry I waited so long before getting one. But, on to my issue:

I want to only use the external monitor and keep the laptop screen turned off. The problem is that when I resume from sleep sometimes, but not always, the laptop display comes back on showing only the desktop wallpaper. So I then have to hit the windows key plus "p" (for projector) and select projector to get the laptop display turned off again.

I know how to select the external monitor in W7. Basically, one goes to screen resolution from the desktop right click context menu and make the proper selection under multiple monitors (see screenshot below).

But windows 7 seems to forget this setting sometimes and it's a mild annoyance to have to check the laptop monitor and if it's on, hit the windows key plus "p" each time (or almost each time).

So I'm wondering if there's some way to force windows 7 to remember to use only the external monitor and keep the laptop monitor off until I tell it otherwise? I suppose this issue is likely due to some bug in one of my drivers but I am using all the latest drivers.

A:Issue w. laptop & external monitor

Why not just keep the laptop lid closed? The external monitor will display, and your laptop display will be turned off. OR, are you using the keyboard and touch pad on the laptop? If that's the case, do yourself a favor and get a full size keyboard and mouse, and plug it into the laptop, push the laptop off to the side, and keep the lid closed. Alternately, you could invest in a docking station so you don't have to plug everything in each time. That's what I do at work.

Also, I've tried the FN+F8 route and it does the same thing. Both screens go blank and the LCD TV (external monitor) says invalid format. Its almost like when the lid is closed it changes the resolution to a non displayable one. Happens with both FN+F8 and the lid close method. I never had this problem with XP. Please help.

For me this works only if I first disconnect the main (laptop) display, showing desktop only on external, secondary display. If both displays are used in extended desktop mode, closing the lid also turns external display off.

Hi, I hope someone here can help.

I want to watch films on my CRT television in my apartment, so I bought a VGA>Component cable so that I connect my laptop to it via VGA.

I purchased my laptop in the UK, and have since moved to South Korea. It is a Sony Vaio with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 running Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

So far the closest I have managed to get is heavily distorted (positionally and colour wise) screen.. I have attached a picture of this. I get this only if I extend the desktop area.

However, when I move the mouse over to the CRT screen and right click, as soon as I touch a flyout menu (such as 'view' or 'sort by') the screen goes black and then refreshes.

I have a feeling this is a PAL / NTSC issue (in that the UK is PAL, and Korea is NTSC), yet there is nowhere in my ATI CCC software to change the region modes.

I have changed Windows 7 system locale to Korea, but it didn't make a difference.

Also CCC cannot detect the settings such as maximum resolution etc.. for the television, and Windows detects it in Device Manager as a 'Generic Non-Pnp Monitor'

Any ideas on how to get it working? Please help

Many thanks

One day I was using the laptop surfing the net normally, everything was fine and suddenly the display gone wrong...(pic below). I tried using an external monitor and still the same, so I am quite sure that my monitor is fine and it's probably a display card problem?
I tried to update my display card driver and no luck, so I decided to use the recovery CD to restore the system, and no luck again.

Here is a screenshot after the system restore...is there a way to repair this without taking it to a service centre??

A:Tecra S1 - Display issue, even on external monitor

Hi borist,

It?s really great that you could post a picture of your problem. Thank you!
Furthermore you tried already a lot of like recovery installation and an external monitor.

Unfortunately it seems to be a hardware malfunction of graphic card. :(

So that means you have to exchange the mainboard because the graphic card is fixed on it. Mainboard is pretty expensive part and Tecra S1 is old notebook so maybe you can get a second hand mainboard or notebook on eBay and exchange it yourself.

Good luck! :)

Hi all, I am trying to connect 2 external monitors (Asus VW22AT) to my W550S laptop.Via the VGA connection, it works fine (for both monitors, i tried one by one), the display automatically sets to 1680x1050 resolution. My problem comes from the mini displayport which i used with DVI adapter (I also tried with VGA adapter), I can't get the 1680x1050 resolution, it recommands to use a 1920x1080 resolution but the screen is blurred. If I manually set to 1680x1050, the image doesn't use all the screen, each side is black on 3 centimeters thus the image is also blurred. Do you have any solution please?Best regards, Jean

Hello!
I recently purchased an external monitor (BenQ EW2740L) for use with a PS4 console, however I thought I would try to connect it to my Laptop (ASUS N550JV - Running windows 8). I was trying to connect the two with a HDMI cable as my laptop doesn't have ports to fit the supplied D-Sub cable. Long story short, My computer detected and installed the monitor but im presented with a black screen and the monitor gives the message "No Cable connected". I've tried the Fn + F8 option of projecting to a second screen however no luck.
Also my Computer and the monitor both have a native contrast of 1920x1080 if that helps.

What am I doing wrong?

I know this is a common problem, but so far I did not find a solution to it.  The external monitors connected to my prodock via VGA and DVI blacks out every few seconds, especially during heavy usage. At first, I thought it was a power supply issue so I bought a 90W supply. Now the monitors stays on most of the time, but still blacks out every 10 minutes or so, even during standby with minimal power usage. Then I tried editing the integrated graphics settings, updating/rolling back graphics driver, flashing the docking station firmware with every version I can find, and switching to ubuntu on the other drive, but there wasn't a single combination of settings which would keep the external monitor on for more than an hour without blacking out/disconnecting.  So what should I do now?  System info:i7 5600u, 12G RAM, 16G + 128G ssd, 500G hdd, NO 940M, FHD IPS nontouch screen, Windows 10/Ubuntu 16.04Thinkpad Prodock 04A1, 45W/90W power supply. All USB and audio ports works perfectly. Both monitors are 1440x900 at 60Hz, works flawlessly when attached to laptop VGA port.

Hi,  I have a Lenovo Z50-70 laptop(GeForce 840m(4gb) and i7).  When I plug in my external monitor using VGA cable, it starts flickering and looks like its trying to auto adjust every 3-4 seconds. I have latest Intel HD and Nvidia display drivers installed. I tried to attach the same monitor to my old laptop and everything works fine, so its not cable or monitor problem. Also tried to remove laptop charger, changing display settings etc., and the problem still remains. No idea what else can I do to prevent this permanently.Interesting part: When I launch any game then flickering goes away. When I exit the game, flickering comes back. Its so weird. Thank you in advance for your help.

Check the output frequencies the monitor/display is getting. Either they're exceeding the display capability and/or the refresh freq is off, 60HZ is the norm for flat panel displays while some will handle higher up to 75HZ but only lower will be visible to the eye. The resolution may also be wrong as it may not be detected to set the correct resolution for that display as well.

Hi, I recently got an x230. I use laptops at work, connecting them to external displays (TVs) using a hdmi cable. The x230 has no hdmi input, so I use a minidp/hdmi adapter. I set windows (10) to 'display on second screen only', and after that it was fine with one annoying problem. The problem is that whenever I open the lid, the laptop changes display mode: 1. connect laptop to TV with display on second screen only2. close lid, laptop displays on second screen as intended3. open lid, windows changes to display on FIRST screen only or, with some fiddling, duplicate4. close lid again, windows changes back to display on second screen only Opening the lid always changes the display settings. I want it to always be 'display on second screen only'; always, even if I open the lid to quickly type something like when doing a search. All power options are set correctly. All display options are set correctly. But opening the lid still seems to turn on the first display and reset my display settings. I don't know how to stop it. On my old laptop (a y570 running win7), if I set 'display on second screen only', the laptop would only display on the second screen regardless of whether the lid was up or down. I wonder why this isn't the same. Is it the laptop? Is it Windows 10? Is it perhaps my adapter? I've tried 2 TVs and 2 hdmi cables and changing them had no effect. I've searched for this problem high and low but never found any solution. Can anyone shed some lig... Read more

Hello, I have a Thinkpad x270 laptop running Windows 10.Laptop is connected to external DELL P2719H monitor through HDMI cable. Resolution is Full HD. I am using wireless keyboard and mouse.I have updated all the drivers in 2 steps - first, I did "Windows Updates", and then, second, I went through all devices in "Device Manager" in order to update all the remaining drivers.  Problem is the following -  my display has flickering issues. Generally it happens when I move the mouse. You can see this on the video below. Flickering on the video bellow happens when I go over the small video built-in into the website. This happens couple of times per day. I thought that it might be caused by wireless mouse or HDMI cable or Display, but my testing showed thata) similar flickering issues sometimes happen with mouse turned OFF and disconnected from the laptop andb) I don't experience such issues with the same HDMI cable, same DELL P2719H display, but with different laptop running Windows 7. So I think it might be caused by x270 or Windows 10 problems. What are your thoughts? What troubleshooting steps could be made?

Since yesterday, my laptop does not connect to my external monitor!! I have already uninstalled/installed the graphic drivers, uninstalled latest windows updates, installed latest Lenovo latest updates, changed the cable/monitor/adapter but nothing seem to work. It is a very annoying experience. Everything was working perfectly fine last week and now suddenly my laptop does not connect to any external displays!! Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? I suspect some new updates might have caused the problem (probably new intel updates) Please let me know if you have any suggestions (I have already tried almost all solutions in other blogs/websites)...

I'm having a problem with a laptop of a customer of my. He's got a Thinkpad P1 with a resolution of 3840x2160 connected to an external monitor with resolution 1920x1080 via HDMI. The external monitor is the preferred monitor in Windows 10 Pro. When he disconnects his external monitor all the running applications are scaled up dramatically on his laptop monitor, but when he shuts down all the applications before disconnecting this external monitor and start/run the applications again after disconnecting there is no issue. Does anyone know what could cause this issue?

A:Thinkpad P1 scaling issue after disconnecting external monitor

It's a Windows / application-specific issue, nothing to do with the laptop. While things have improved dramatically over the last couple of years, closing all applications and sign out-sign in after changing primary display scaling is the most reliable way to get everything working as expected. If this is not acceptable, the most easy fix is to buy an external monitor with 4K resolution, or (free!) set resolution of the built-in screen to 1080p and the same 100% scaling as external monitor. In the latter case, text renders less well on 4K panel  set to 1080p than on a real 1080p panel, but the difference is subtle enough for many people not to care.

Hello,
I got this laptop recently and ran into an issue when connecting to external displays, in all games I am unable to set my video settings to 60Hz when choosing to project my display to the external screen only. If I duplicate the screen then I have no issue, but I want to be able to close the laptop lid and have 60Hz as an option, otherwise everything shows up as 59Hz which causes stuttering and flickering. The weird thing is that in Windows my refresh rate shows up as 60Hz at 1920x1080 but when launching any game 59Hz is the highest I can go to when set to display as "second screen only" in Windows 10. Please let me know what I could to fix this, and if it is not clear let me know.
