CSGO Settings - Performance

Q: CSGO Settings - Performance

I need help in choosing the best setting for CSGO, to play with high performance without fps drop. The game's requirements are :

OS: Windows? 7/Vista/XPProcessor: Intel? Core? 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom? X3 8750 processor or betterMemory: 1GB XP / 2GB VistaHard Disk Space: At least 7.6GB of SpaceVideo Card: Video card must be 256 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9-compatible with support for Pixel Shader 3.0

It works on Windows 8 and I know my laptop specs is not powerful enough to run in high settings so I reduce to the lowest possible. Works fine but some stuttering of repetitive audio and frequent fps drop. I'm running in 1024x768 resolution. Need some explanation for :-
Multicore renderingMultisampling Anti-Aliasing modeTexture Filtering modeFXAA Anti-AliasingWait for Vertical Sync

Is my settings right? Need some tips for my laptop settings to run smoothly for this game.

Preferred Solution: CSGO Settings - Performance

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: CSGO Settings - Performance

Multicore rendering.
It just lets you use both cores in a CPU to boost performance.

Multisampling Anti-Aliasing mode
a technique used in computer graphics to improve image quality.

Texture Filtering mode
texture filtering or texture smoothing is the method used to determine the texture color for a texture mapped pixel, using the colors of nearbytexels (pixels of the texture)

FXAA Anti-Aliasing
Smooth the edges.

Vertical Sync
Keep a track of FPS. ( I keep it off in all the games. )

Upgrade the drivers for your Intel card and then check the gameplay.

About two weeks ago Windows 7 (64-bit) stopped remembering my preferred Performance Settings (My Computer > Properties > Advanced System Settings > (Performance) Settings). For example, I want to enable "Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing." I can check this option in the Performance settings, but the duration that Windows will remember this setting is arbitrary.

Sometimes, the setting will be kept until the next time I reboot, but at other times the setting will only be in effect for a random length of time - minutes to hours - before it reverts to being disabled. I cannot determine any specific set of circumstances that might be causing this.

I have tried to gain ownership of the key located here in the Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\AnimateMinMax thinking that there may be a permissions problem, but I had no success. I can't take ownership of the key, nor can I change its permissions.

I would greatly appreciate any help that can be offered. Thanks!

I'm looking for advice to max out my fps in games, without making the graphics look like *** of course. I know truform should be turned off, and it is. But with the ati drivers , i have no option to turn off anti aliasing or antistropic filtering, it only lets me use "Let program pick the settings". I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to overclock my 9700 pro, or what settings i should use for better fps, and if theres anyway to turn off antistropic filtering, or anti aliasing.

Guide * Windows 7 Ultimate Tweaks & Utilities *

I read the guide above but i have some doubts on these 2 sections.

1) Speed Up the Windows 7 Bootup Time

2) Change the Number of Processors Used at Boot Up

Do they improve performance?

A:Will changing those settings improved performance?

Not in the slightest. Nothinging in the guide will improve performance.
The processor setting, is only for disabling processors for testing.

It even tells you to disable Aero...disabling Aero is the fastest way to reduce performance.

For your first question:
1. Let Windows choose
2. Leave it alone, don't touch
3. See #2
4. See #2

Second question:
1. I'm not quite sure what you are asking. Formatting a drive will erase the contents. However, if you've already backed up data to the drive, it should be fine. It was formatted already, prior to the data being moved to it.
2. Again, not sure what you are asking, but if the drive is already storing data, it is ready to be used.

Are you trying to repartition the external drive into one large solid drive letter? If so, you'll need to copy off all important data. If it already one solid large drive, leave it that way and use it. Ignore the comments about memory. Those are used (poorly) because most non-technies still can't differentiate between memory and hard drive space.

I did drivers updates through the DELL tools.
From the Task manager perfomrance monitor I noticed that the CPU speed is always 0.78 Ghz instead of 2.6 Ghz, no matter if I run heavy aplications or I plug or unplug the power cable.I read from this forum several topics about a BIOS bug on this PC: entering the power save mode and going back to normal mode unplugging and pluggig the power cable, doesn't really affect the PC to go back to the full performance settings. I would probably try to find out if something was running taking up processor time.  You can use Task Manager and/or the Resource Monitor to watch the percentage by setting the CPU column to show most CPU usage at the top of the column.
In Task Manger use the Processes or Details tabs and in Resource Manager, look through it and become familiar with what it might show.  If you see anything suspicious, let us know.

I really need to know what is the best performance settings for my 7.
I have installed 32 bit 7 with 1600 DDR3 4GB and no paging file. I know that it can support 4GB of RAM but when I looking at my system setting it says that 3.25 (usable)... What does this mean...? Also, I saw an option " Automatically manage paging file size for all drives"... Should I use this option...?

If you have better experience in this settings plizz give me some advices.

A:Best Performance Settings for Windows 7 32bit and 64bit

Hello Sanssan,

Since you have the 32-bit Windows 7 installed, you're system will only use up to 3.25 GB of your available RAM. You would need to install the 64-bit Windows 7 instead to make full use of all of your RAM instead.

It's usually best to allow Windows 7 to use that default Automatically manage paging file size for all drives setting for Virtual Memory (page file) unless you have separate physical hard drive that you want to have the page file on instead for better performance.

Hope this helps,

Do vista power settings on laptops affect just the screen brightness and when it turns off, or does it effect performance itself, such as the processor speed? If they do affect processor speed, by approximately how much (i.e. a percentage).

I'm running a dell xps 1330 with 2gb ram and 2.2 Ghz processor.

Thanks as always,

A:Does changing power settings actually affect performance?

On computers that have processors with SpeedStep (Intel) or Cool'n'Quiet (AMD) it will clock down the CPU when not under load. It can also power down hard drives, etc. It will not slow a computer down in regards to performance.

Edit- You want max battery on your laptop though and having the higher power setting over performance will keep your laptop cooler as well.

Recently, my laptop went low on power and went into Hibernation Mode. After I plugged the power back into the laptop and woke it up from Hibernation Mode, the startup screen showed that it was not able to restore the current settings and that I would have to use the old settings, so I proceeded with it.

Later on I tried to play some games on my laptop but to my disappointment, every time new graphics data is showed on a screen, for example, when I repeatedly fire from a 'new' weapon which I haven't used since I started up the game today, or meeting new enemies, the laptop will hang up and the sound will skip repeatedly (like a bad CD). This would carry on for about 30 seconds before the game returns to normal. This problem becomes worse when the graphics load becomes more intense, i.e. large numbers of enemies on screen, or going into a new area all of a sudden, as I might encounter a BSOD which reports KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. I have not tried other memory or graphics intensive programs yet, but I do suppose they will spike and lag as per the above problem.

I recognise this problem as an old problem that my laptop once had. I sent it for RMA and the support team informed me that it has got to do with one of the registry settings. They changed the registry settings and it was working fine. Unfortunately I have lost the service report and I'm unable to identify exactly where the problem is after my settings had been resetted as a result of the hibern... Read more

Hi all,

A number of weeks ago, my AV (AVG Free 2013) detected a number of 'threats' which I asked it to remove. After doing so, every time I restarted my PC, AVG reported the same threats as being found. After leaving my machine off for a number of days, unsure of what to do, I followed this guide: http://www.reddit.com/related/eskfn/malware_removal_guide/ (I did not, however, run Combofix) in order to remove any malware. Malware-bytes found a number of threats which I tasked it to remove, though afterwards, when I did a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials, It still detected 3 threats listed below:

1. Trojan:Win32/Tracur.BB
2. Trojan Downloader:Java/Openstream.AN
3. Exploit Java/CVE-2010-0840

I tasked MSE to remove these threats, then did a second full scan of the machine, which found nothing.

Since then, I have experienced considerable lag when using the internet, particularly when watching videos, I am unable to access the Windows firewall settings via the Control Panel and whenever I log onto Windows, I am greeted with an error message which reads:

Good day.

And another one is how can transfer Personal User Directories to another Drive without removing the access permissions in them. (Example: C:\Users\Computer to D:\Users\Computer) Cause when i changed the user directory to D:/. That certain user directory can now be accessed by all Standard user accounts in my PC.

Any help?

A:Advanced System Settings Performance to all User accounts

First, what system settings are you trying to change for all users? Different settings have different locations for their values and ways of making them work for all users isn't always set to one way.

Secondly, for your file copy question you'll want to look at xcopy. xcopy has some advanced features that cover almost anything that anyone would need. In regards to your specific need you'll want to look at the K, O, and X flags in the xcopy switch list. The /K flag copies attributes over, /O is the main flag you will probably want because it copies ownership and permissions, and then the /X flag copies any audit settings if you have those set and want those copied too.

So it'd be something like: xcopy C:\Users\Jon\Desktop\file.cmd D:\Users\Jon\Documents /K /O /X

A:Maximizing My Ram Performance/Usage. Virtual Memory Settings.

RAM usage has nothing to do with cpu usage. Not having enough RAM can cause the HDD/swap file to be used in it's place. CPU usage will be the same either way.

1. Windows/apps will use however much RAM that they need. Unless you have been having issues because of not having enough RAM (which I doubt), upgrading to more is meaningless.

2. Win7 does a good job of managing THE swap file. No reason to make any changes.

3. Virtual memory is used if there isn't enough actual RAM. For the most part, it's hardly used. But it is needed as Windows and many apps require it's presence.

there's theory number one, which the majority will most likely side with;
it's just going to make the game more or less pretty; it wont have an effect on your score.

there's the purist theory;
excluding resolution (higher being generally better in any case), high graphics settings add extra variables and details to the environment, creating a higher difficulty for your mind's eye to coordinate and calculate what's going on in front of you; therefore lower graphics settings simplify what you see, allowing you to get more headshots / quicker reaction time / etc. this argument may hold water, when you throw a gillie suit into the equation; on high graphics you might mistake the gillie for a shrub and get pwned, whereas the lower graphics settings user might more easily be able to point out and quickly kill the sneaky sniper.

there's the performance enthusiast theory;
the higher detail graphics you play at, the better you will perform. (again, frame rate and resolution are not a part of the equation, simply because both of those things, the higher, the better. period.) these performance enthusiasts would argue that, because their graphics are optimized, they have more detail, and therefore can see every thing much clearer. maybe they would argue that they could more easily detect enemies, or simply due to the fact that it looks better, they are going to perform better, in some way.

Original Question: Optimus Settings: power setting choices for increased performance, 9/21/2012 byDELL-Terry B
There have been a number of threads regarding the performance of Optimus systems while playing 3D extensive programs and games.
Notebooks with Nvidia GPUs (Graphic Processing Unit) may have a feature called Optimus.  These systems have in fact two different video solutions, and integrated Intel GPU and a more powerful discreet Nvidia GPU.  In Optimus systems to conserve battery power the integrated Intel GPU is the default graphics solutions and will be used on most situations. Dynamically when the system detects programs that require more extensive graphics power, the system should switch the GPU to the discreet Nvidia GPU. For more on what Optimus does please check the following link from Nvidia.
Be sure to check out Nvidia's FAQ on Optimus.
For more information on the Optimus how to's especially for Dell systems check out this great article.
You may want a bit more control and wish to manually decide what GPU to use.  I am including the method that you can go into the Nvidia Control Panel to manually select the Nvidia GPU globally to become the default GPU.
Selecting a Preferred Graphics Processor
Open the NVIDIA Control Panel
* Select Manage 3D Settings
* Under the Global Settings tab, select High-performance NVIDIA processor
* Click Apply

I'm trying to get rid of the pop-up that Internet Explorer gives that tells me that I can speed up my browsing by disabling add-ons. All the googling I've done tells me to run gpedit.msc and go to Administrative Templates ? Windows Components ? Internet Explorer and enable "Disable add-on performance notifications". I've run gpedit.msc and searched through the options, and no-where can I find "Disable add-on performance notifications". The only option that mentions add-ons is "Do not allow users to enable or disable add-ons". I've opened that up just in case the option I want is hidden within that, but it doesn't seem to be.

Can anyone tell me where to find this option, or if it could be called something else?

I run Windows 7 64 home premium (I followed some instructions I found on the net to enable gpedit.msc as it is generally only available on Windows 7 Professional) and Internet Explorer 9.

I'm curious to find out if there's any computer performance advantage to using an HDMI cable to drive an external monitor from my laptop VS driving the external monitor via VGA cable. Also, if I set the color depth setting to 16bit instead of some higher value, seems like that should speed things up, etc.

Can you recommend a good software that can let me see what differences there are in computer performance as I vary these settings?

First off, let me say that this problem may not be Windows 10 exclusive, but it happened to me in Windows 10 (I haven't tried in Windows 7 yet), and that is the reason I am making my post here.

I've been running the Windows 10 Technical Preview for about a week on build 10130. My problem started two days ago, when playing a competitive match on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. My ping will be low (under 50 most of the time) and then randomly jump up to the 200 range for no reason (it stays at 200 for barely a second, but is still very distracting). This problem has occurred on every server I have played on since that day (community and Valve official).

(I made it terrible quality for a smaller filesize, therefore becoming a faster upload)

Things I've tried:
Restarting my PC
Restarting my router
Connecting over WiFi
Connecting over Ethernet
Resetting my router
Resetting my network adapter settings

Has this/does this happen to anyone else, and does anyone know of a fix (I've tried google, but nothing I found helped).

ADSL by any chance? this looks like aluminium degradation to me, it's basically from your cables going to your home which are starting to degrade over time, they were probably installed in the early 90's when copper was super expensive and BT used aluminium instead, bad idea, can you do a test over at this address> Pingtest.net - The Global Broadband Quality Test and post your results below.

I've had this build for over a year and have been playing both CSGO and GTA with no problems for quite a while. The first BSOD came whilst using the shadow play feature that Nvidia offers. I turned shadow play off and did a fresh install of Nvidia Experience and updated the drivers for my GPU (Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 ti). This seemed to work for about a a day or two and then I had another BSOD. Since then I have been experiencing BSOD irregularly. Sometimes I can play any game for hours with no problem, other times I have BSOD as soon as I start the game up. I've checked for memory errors, updated the GPU driver, scanned for malware and I'm still at a loss. Would greatly appreciate any insight. Thank you
