Hotkey Support Error 2753

Q: Hotkey Support Error 2753

Hello, I'm using HP ProBook 640 G2 with Windows 10 v1607 Build 14393.693.I installed all drivers and anything is working fine except the Hotkeys. Fn+F1/F8/F9/F12, the I/O, wireless and mute switch are working by default, but Fn+F4/F5/F6 and F10 aren't working. When I try to install the Hotkey support I get the error 2753 "The File 'lanwlanswitchingservice.exe1' is not marked for installation." I tried version 6.2.29.1 Rev.A and 6.2.24.1 Rev.A. Same error.I have a workaround for the problem using the windows battery symbol, but I would like to use the keys. Can you help me? Best regards,Alex

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I see HP has a lot of driver updates for this laptop.  I tried to download one of the updates and it asked me to use the HP Support Solutions Framework, so I did.  When I installed it, it terminated without installing and gave an error code 2753.  What is this and how do I fix it?  In addition two Bios updates are available: F.15 Rev A and F.21 Rev A, both updated on Aug 13, 2016.  Which should be used?  What is the risk of bricking the laptop when updating and how is this minimized?

I recently reinstalled Windows 7 on my PC, coming from Windows 10. Installed all the drivers and upgraded bios without any complications at all. But when I press a hotkey-combo, for example FN+F5 to lower screen brightness, I recieve an error saying "hpCaslNotificiation has stopped working". If I press this, or any other FN+key combo I'll get this message (even though the screen does in fact dim). Even if I press ten times, I will get ten error messages on top of each other. I have the latest Hotkey Support drivers installed right now, and I have tried to install an earlier version to no avail. Can anybody help me?  Probook 640 G2, I5, 16GB RAM, 256SSD Win7 Pro x64 Regards

Hi guys.

Sorry my first post has to be a 'please help' post.

I tried to install NOD32 Antivirus. I recieved a warning during installation from NOD32 saying there may be a conflict as I already had an AV installed (Symantec AV). I foolishly clicked the 'ignore' option and installed anyway as I was gonna uninstall Symantec after NOD had installed.

Nearing installation completion my whole system froze. I had to reboot the system manually. When it came back online it froze again within 10secs. I had to go into safe mode and stop the NOD32 services. When I rebooted everything was working fine again.

I went into Add/Remove programs, NOD32 is listed there but has no option to remove. I tried to uninstall using 'Easy Remover 2004 Pro', but NOD32 is not listed as an installed program. I then went into Program Files but there's no folder for NOD32.

As a last resort I run the NOD32 installation setup again as I knew there would be an option there for repair/remove. When I click remove I get this error 'The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2753'.

If possible I would like to remove NOD32 completely from my system. I hope I've given enough information for a possible assist.

And help will be greatly appreciated.

A:NOD32 error code 2753

Welcome to TSG....

It is not advisable to have two anti-virus programs running att he same rime or actually on your computer at the same time. If you want to use NOD32 then you have to remove both NOD32 and symantecs product and then re-install NOD32.

If both are scanning at the same time everytime the scan crosses each other you will get a false-positive about a virus and when cleaned it could possible damage your OS or a program in the computer.

Hi, I am a beginner. I am in the UK. First post. Please forgive my ignorance.

Windows Vista Home edition 32 bit. 2year old Packard Bell desktop. Never had the problem before. Regularly run RegCure. No virus/spyware that I know of. Unable to load Windows Vista Service Pack 1. KB 936330 - this is another problem, let's do it later. Can't think of anything else relevant.

I have just changed my broadband suppler. Now I am with O2. By the way I find their service and support good (ADSL2+ 15 Meg download) . They provide a tool that can be loaded on the PC to help diagnose broadband problems. When I try to load it, I get Internal Error 2753.ssrc.exe. I see a number of problems on Google and websites with this error code, but none related to ssrc.exe which I think is the programme on the CD which is causing the problem.

Help please

I've seen similar posts regarding this error... maybe you guys can help me. My wife was on the computer yesterday and it got infected with 42 viruses. I had an expired version of Norton on the computer (which I didn't like) so I figured I'd try Trend Micro. I bought and downloaded the AntiVirus but it wouldn't install - it kept hanging up midway. So I contacted Trend Micro tech support and they had me download several tools. First one was a tool from Symantec to remove all the old Nortons stuff (even though I already did this in add/remove). Next, they had me download and run a virus scan from them... it seemed to run in DOS mode (if that's what it's still called). It found 42 viruses and cleaned them up. Now my computer is somewhat back to normal. Next, they had me download a Trend removal tool to uninstall any components from my previous attempt at installing Trend. I did that. And finally, I was supposed to reinstall Trend. When I try reinstalling Trend, it tells me that some files are already on the computer so I click overwrite. It then goes to a 'uninstall Trend Micro Wizard'. When I click that, I get the error message 2753, which from previous posts I've read means I still have some conflicting files or processes from the first install. So I re-ran the Trend Micro uninstall tool that the tech support had me download AND I went into safe mode and deleted any Trend Micro folders in the program files or program apps folder. Rebooted and tried the installer... Read more

Hello and welcome:

We could probably provide better help if we had a wee bit more information...

A few basic questions:
Is this the Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit laptop listed in your forum profile?
What is the full MODEL NUMBER of the HP printer?
How are you trying to connect the computer to the printer -- local (USB), network (wired/Ethernet) or network (wifi)?
Have you had a look at this article >>HERE<< about "fatal errors" (scroll down to see the part about 2753 codes)? (This is a US URL. I hope you are able to see the information from your locale.)

Thank you for the information, if you can please provide it,

Bluetooth Install/Unintall error 2753 f84988_btins.dll Running into this (and other errors) when trying to install or uninstall Bluetooth drivers.
error 2753 f84988_btins.dll

Other errors just indicate cannot complete the install or uninstall. this is the only error message that consistently returns.

1) error 2753 appears to be a generic windows error indicating cannot overwrite a file or not permissions
2) f84988_btins.dll appears to be a specific Widcomm or other bluetooth file which I cannot find.

I have found many references to this error on the internet. But not one that posts a solution or even good explanation of the cause.

After trying out the program for a few seconds, I tried to uninstall the program, however, for some reason I was notified of an error which looked like this.

What does it mean when the uninstaller gives you an error code of 2753? I don't think the error itself is from the program, but it is from windows and it's having trouble with it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A couple of weeks ago, I landed on a site that downloaded XP Antivirus 2008 on my computer. I ran SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware. It got rid of most of it, I think. It still shows up in my "Start" menu.

Since then, from time to time a window starts popping up 50 to 100+ times saying something like "HotKey.exe error PowrProf.dll" That's not verbatim, as I had to keep hitting the x key on each window that kept popping up to try stop it.

Also, my mouse starts to stop working and I have to use the laptop's mouse pad to move the cursor.

There are also a couple of things that Ad-Aware shows as an infection Search and Destroy does not pick up on. However, it doesn't seem to be able to delete as the same thing keeps coming up on Ad-Aware after I reboot.

I'm running WindowsXP SP3.

I hope that helps describe the situation.

I noticed that alot of people are experiencing this problem and I've decided to help.

Well I'm not sure if this would work for you but it sure worked for me. I currently use Toshiba Notebook of the F20 series.

I had the same problem and I managed to fix it successfully. Here's what I've done:

I uninstalled the Toshiba Hotkey Utility and Toshiba Utilities.
After rebooting the computer I clicked on Toshiba Assist icon on the desktop.

Next I clicked on the Protect and Fix tab and then Preinstalled Drivers Depository.

A screen appears displaying tools and utilties. Just click on it and you should have a list of the preinstalled files on the left.

I suggest that you click on the Common Modules first and install that before installing other Toshiba components.
Afterwards install Toshiba Utilties and Toshiba Hotkey for Display Devices.

This should hopefully help.

My apologies if this doesn't work out.

Have now set client backup and health service to delayed start rather than automatic which does start them both after about three minutes of startup. The server can now see the client and may backup automatically or not, we shall see. Actually it does not matter too much as this is my main machine so I could do a manual backup at any time. But that is not the point is it?! it was set to automatic at start so should do as instructed. I have checked the logon, recovery and dependency tabs on these settings and they match the adjacent computer which is performing perfectly normally. Any suggestions folks?

Mike.

Titel of error: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Error: Runtime Error! (program path here) R6002 - Floating point support not loaded.

Hiii,

I've been experiencing a problem ever since i decided to re-install Windows 7 just to have a new fresh copy installed instead of one I've had installed for a year now.

Before Re-installing windows i never experienced this problem.

(I now have Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

Whenever i Try to open, Some programs, (not all show this error)
(CCleaner, Snowbird, Windows media player classic. etc.)
Keep op showing this Error and they wont start.

I've been trying to find a solution to this problem for 2 days straight but didnt find one,

-I tried. Cleaning my registry with 4 different programs. (the only solution people give on this topic on the internet but wont work for me)
-Reinstalled windows7 ultimate about 6 times,
Everytime i tried to find out what was causing it by rebooting everytime i installed something or changed something and check if everything still worked.

The first time it started happening after i installed Directx 11
tried to uninstall it but was kinda unpossible even with third party software.
then i reinstalled windows and just left directx out.
then when i installed a program i installed before direct x but everything worked fine after i installed it before.
but this time after that install (Windows media player classic) it caused the error,
and i tried to find out by reinstalling windows and ... Read more

First, uninstall all the programs that are giving you problems through Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program. Then, uninstall all Visual C++ Redistributables software through Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a program.

Once you have finished uninstalling the software, install the following:Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86)
Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86)
Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86)Then install their updates through Windows Update. Then install the software again that you had been having problems with.

Also, stop using registry cleaners to try to fix problems; they just create more problems:Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to Optimize Windows 7.

While updating HP Active Support Library in windows vista home premium it downloads and checks for space allocation and then gives me Error 1316.A network error while attempting to read from file c:\windows\installer\HP active support library.msi Then after the rolling back action I receive Error-1603-Fatal-error during installation consult windows installer help (msi.chm) or msdn for more information. I have tried to go to the latter but have been unsuccessful in eliminating this problem. Is there anything that can be done short of restoring my laptop back to its original out of the box settings?

Hey koohii!

This is quite an easy fix, you may have to restart your computer. Click start>run and type in msconfig. In the services tab, scroll down until you find Help and Support(there may be quite a few items, keep searching you'll find it. Click the service button to alphabetize them) the status of it will be paused. Check the box next to it, and click OK, or APPLY. When its done, close msconfig. It will probably ask you to restart, but say no and try the Help and Support, as you may not need to. If it still wont open, restart.
Best regards,
Tony

I've recently gotten a Think Centre M58 MJ08664 that is refurbished. Every time I go to the support page I get an error message. I've used IE 10, Chrome, and Firefox and I get the error. I'm trying to get updates for the bios, manuals, and drivers. This is infuriating that the support site does not work. When I created my account for support I get an error. Everything I do generates an error. Any help would be appreciated. God bless you and yours.
