Preferred Solution: Internet Explorer 7 won't connect to any website...

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello,

Using Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, Sevice Pack 2
For about a week now, I haven't been able to access the internet except through Internet Explore 64bit. When I try to connect with Firefox, whatever website I attempt to load comes up as "The connection was reset". When I try to connect with Internet Explore (32bit), I get the message: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Also uTorrent cannot connect. I tried logging onto Firefox and IE from other computers in my house and had no problem. I also tried my computer on a different network and had the same problems.

I first noticed the problem when I upgraded to the latest edition of uTorrent. I checked for any updates with Windows, ran scans using AVG and Spyware Doctor, uninstalled uTorrent, tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox, ran Firefox in safe mode, turned off Windows Firewall, and disabled AVG. I haven't had any luck yet. So I came here

I posted in "Windows Vista", the thread was moved to "Am I Infected? What do I do?". After trying a few different things, the person helping me couldn't see the problem so suggested I follow steps 6 through 9 of the Preparation Guide and post it here (I skipped step 8 because I am running a Windows 64 bit OS).

Here is the link to my origninal thread: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic444078.html/page__p__2611180#entry2611180

Below are the logs from the DDS scan. Thanks for taking a look!... Read more

Hello, lets look at a few logs as using uTorrent can bring in many things. Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it. Checkmark the following checkboxes: Flush DNS Report IE Proxy Settings Reset IE Proxy Settings Report FF Proxy Settings Reset FF Proxy Settings List content of Hosts List IP configuration List Winsock Entries List last 10 Event Viewer log List Installed Programs List Users, Partitions and Memory size.Click Go and post the result (Result.txt). A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run. Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.>>>Please download TDSSKiller.zip and and extract it.Run TDSSKiller.exe. Click Start scan. When it is finished the utility outputs a list of detected objects with description.
The utility automatically selects an action (Cure or Delete) for malicious objects.

Help! I'm working on XP and have Norton Internet Security 2006 installed. I'm able to connect to the Internet without any problems, with one exception. I can't seem to access msnbc.com. It times out everytime. When I turn Norton off, I'm suddenly able to connect to the site. When I turn it back on, same problem occurs. I don't have Parental Control turned on so I didn't block the site. It used to work just fine so I'm guessing I accidentally screwed something up. Any suggestions? Thanks!

A:Unable To Connect To Website - Norton Internet Security

Hello jrube9 and welcome to Bleeping Computer!Try opening Internet Explorer, then going to Tools->Internet Options. Then click on the Security tab at the top and click on Restricted Sites. Then, (underneath) click on Sites and check the list to see if msnbc.com is on the list, and if it is, click remove. This may not solve your problem, but it might help. Charles

We have a computer at our office, that as of this morning, IE won't connect to any webpages. We've gone through the diagnostic tool - but the remedies it presents do not affect the problem.
Email (through Outlook 2007) connects fine and is receiving email fine.
All network drives can also be reached with no problems.

There is also no other computer in our office experiencing this problem.

I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone has. thx

My browser is IE8. Window XP Home with SP2 (Sony VAIO Desktop PCV-RS420, Pentium-4, 2.8 Ghz, 512MB Ram). I am now unable to connect to the Internet. The network diagnostic for window XP kept saying to check firewall settings for HTTP(port 80), HTTPS(port 443), and FTP (port 21).  I don't know how to do that. I open the Window firewall settings on the Security Center page (Exception tab), it lists programs and services on the "Exception", ie, to not block incoming network connection from these programs or services, which include "Internet Explorer",on the list, which seems to be appropriate.  But my computer still will not connect to the Internet--very frustrating.  I  have done "System Restore" a few times to an earlier dates, thinking maybe the computer picked up some virus and the System restore function should temporarily resolve that issue.  But still no luck.   Finally, I tried connecting to a secured website with "HTTPS" in the address bar and the computer appeared to be successful to connect to these HTTPS sites, but it continued to refuse to connect to a regular website(i.e. with "HTTP" in its address bar).  Please help me resove these internet connection issues I would vey much appreciate.

A:Internet Explorer will not connect to HTTP, but will connect to HTTPS

<<My browser is IE8. Window XP Home with SP2...>>

May have nothing to do with your problem...but you really need to install SP3 and all critical updates since its issuance...that may take care of your problem, but even if it doesn't...your system will be less vulnerable.

Installing or reinstalling SP3... has been known to overcome various previous system problems.

Sounds to me like corruption affecting non-secure websites, so you may also want to reinstall IE8.

Hello everyone,

Recently i have purchased a new web design for my web hosting company website, the website template was ok at the start but after i customised it everything went pearshaped, i use the built-in HTML editor in cPanel which is a web hosting control panel to edit my website viewing it from Mozilla Firefox, everything looks ok and the website was getting on great but when i went to view my website on Internet explorer everything looked messed up the text was everywhere the images where misplaced, so i though this is just my PC playing up again so i asked my friend who has both IE7 & IE8 Beta, it was roughly the same, i don't no what to do anymore. Hello,

Recently my internet explorer 7 started launching itself and go to unknown websites : its not a normal launch since its only visible at the task manager procces page and the websites didnt show in the history file.
As I have experiance using my PC I begun doing everything I know.
After Having my computer scanned with many anti malware/spyware proggrams including - Malwarebytes,RogueRemover,Kaspersky,Avg and few more. I failed to find what was causing this and why there isnt any history records of this.
Doing some more research I found a program to view the contents of the explorers history file (IEHV) what I found is that the explorer goes to this site :

tibia-inject.com/ping.php?id=68085&conf=uwp33&infid=1375893814&infname=lol (DONT CLICK IT!!!!!!!!!)

So far I have failed to remove this but I suppose its some sort of keylogger for the game tibia. I have zemana Antilogger but it doesnt catch this 1.
All of my attempts to remove it or finding information on the web on how to remove it have not been succesfull all I found are known rogue program sites so I obviously avoided them in order to not get anything even worse.

If anyone have encountered a similar problem or can refer me to a topic on how to remove this horribly nasty infection and willing to share it here please do.

Thanks

Your log is actually clean. Here's a couple tools to try, let me know if they work in resolving your problem.

Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Go to this site to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

Download WinsockFix and unzip it. Then double-click on it to run it.

Hey, this is an odd problem. I Have two computers connected to the wireless netgear router and my desktop connected directly through the cable.

Now I can access the internet just fine, get on games like theres no problem. However there is one website that I can not access from any three of the computers. I think its odd.

I was on one of my games earlier, I said to a friend. "Hey how long has basilmarket.com been down."

The reply was odd, "It's not, I'm on right now!"

So why could the server for the site still be running and all my friends view the page but when I go I get

"The connection has timed out

The server at www.basilmarket.com is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

I don't understand why it would just be me.

I cleared all my cache on two of the computers and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

I dont know why, but every now and then I get this message when I try to access the website I look after.
It says OOPS! Internet explorer could not find (the web address)

I contacted my ISP and the web host when it first happened, and both said they had no problem with it. My webhost gave me some sites, such as proxy servers to try, and sure enough the website was up. Just I couldnt access it.
It drives me crazy. I cant go in and update the site as it Internet explorer for some reason doesnt find it.
Yet in a day or so, it usually comes right.
I have cleared the cache, the temporary internet files, deleted the cookies and the browser history. I have turned off Norton and none of that made any difference.
I ensured ssl 2 and ssl3 were checked.
It only does it with the website I am monitoring.

Any ideas please??

Go into IE Tools, click internet options, click advanced, click on Restore advanced settings and also on reset.
You then have to close IE and open it again.
when the Welcome to IE 8 box opens, I clicked cancel and did not choose any of its options. Now I can access it again. YAY.

Hi,
You can try to delete on exit option ?
Open ie,
Use Alt+TO or Gear symbol/ Internet options,
General section check the box to Delete browser history on exit,
Click on the Delete button and Uncheck everything there and Delete.
Close ie and re-open and test again,

You can also try In-Private browsing,
Right click the ie taskbar shortcut and click on the option Start In-Private browsing,
Or Gear symbol/ Safety and In-Private and test,

Yesterday I did a clean install of Windows 7 RC. I don't have any problems with this thing on other machines.

However if I go to the website www.weblogzwolle.nl I don't see the entire website. Has this got something to do with my screen? Or with Internet Explorer 8?
What I am missing is basically the side bars of the web page.

Thanks!

Edit: on another machine running the same Win7 RC and IE8 I can see the web page perfectly!

What gives?? I know this is an active site--Why won't my computer allow me to connect. I have removed Comodo Internet Security and have kept the Comodo firewall and replaced the Comodo antivirus element with Panda antivirus which has cured some some other issues I have experienced but that didn't resolve this problem.

Please take a shot as this if you can--would really appreciate the help!

My desktop computer runs Windows 7 Pro x64 with the latest updates. When I try to open a certain website in Internet Explorer, IE would crash and display the "Internet Explorer has stopped working" message. The error indicated something wrong with MSHTML.DLL.

Using another browser (Chrome and Firefox) to open the website is fine; it will crash when it's opened in IE. Using IE to open other websites is OK too, just one particular website is having problems (if anyone wants to try, the website I am having issues with is https://payroll.payworks.ca).

I am running IE version 11.0.9600.18697. I have tried opening the website on Internet explorer on a computer running Windows 10 and it doesn't have this problem. So this issue seems to be happening on my Windows 7 computer only.

I have also tried using Internet Explorer no add-ons to open the website, but the same problem occurs.

I have used NirSoft AppCrashView to get the event details of the Internet Explorer appcrash, and I hope someone can take a look and see if it could be a driver or DLL that is corrupted:

Hi,

I recently made a website using Microsoft Publisher and then I edited it with a 30-day trial of Dreamweaver....I've put it on the web...it seems to be working great with firefox but on internet explorer its slow, images take a very long time to load, the page is off center, etc., here's the link to the website...thanks for any help!

http://www.hep.upenn.edu/Quarknet/summer2008/index.htm

A:My Website Works In Firefox But Not Internet Explorer.

Hmm, if you're seriously interested in creating websites you're probably better off learning HTML, CSS (&Possibly Javascript)... Using publisher is probably not the best of ideas, and i've never been impressed by dreamweaver.

If you're interested in learning HTML then i suggest the tutorials here: www.w3schools.com which can guide you through creating w3 standard websites...

As for the problem i see no reason that it should be lagging on one browser and not on the other. And your images are relatively small so i really don't see the problem.

Cheers,
Jamey

Hi. I hope someone can help. I've had this problem for a few days now. The website http://www.plastor.co.uk will not load when I am logged in at work. It used to work and just stopped working one day.

When I enter http://www.plastor.co.uk the address bar changes it to...

http://www.plastor.co.uk/contents/pa...tor/index.html

...and displays a blank screen. When I click on Back it just refreshes the blank screen.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My computer runs Windows Vista Ultimate. Whenever I go to the Quicken BillPay website (quickenbillpay.com), enter my login ID on the first page, and click on Continue, IE shuts down with a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error. The first time it happened, I tried rebooting etc., but the problem has consistently occurred on this PC for a few months. I cannot remember if it ever ran correctly or not, since it first occurred a few months ago.

This does not happen on another PC I have that runs Vista, or a couple of others that run XP Professional.

Wondering if I have some sort of virus or malaware that is causing the crash. I run Kaspersky Internet Security 6 on this PC. I have tried disabling Kaspersky and going to the website, but it still crashes.

Appreciate any insight that anyone might have.

Can anyone help me view my myspace? This is the only website that won't load properly I'm going crazy?

My Myspace will not load in wisconsin since 5am CT time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled adobe flash, java, run c cleaner, avg scan, and also superantispyware. This problem started on internet explorer so I uploaded Firefox and still myspace will not load. I have searched multiple websites with absolutely no problem. I believe I have cleared all browsing history and cookies. I am at a loss. I haven't until today downloaded any new programs in over 2 weeks. The only difference is that I now us PeoplePC for my internet DSL. The error on myspace reads as the following.

Hi,
I am getting error while opening Intranet website and not able to expand all it's menu options. It is working fine in IE6 . I have tried compatibility view in IE8 but still those menu options are not accessible.

A:Getting error when opening Intranet Website in Internet Explorer 8

Looks like a programming error on their web site. Try FireFox that may work until they fix the site and you can also report the error to them.

Hi

I am having problems with my laptop and when I searched for some online help I came across your website so I hope you dont mind me posting this. Basically I have been abroad for several months and left this laptop here with my younger cousin. Now when i use it it isnt running very well at all and for some reason i keep getting the 'internet explorer cannot display this webpage' error message pretty much every time i try and go to a website or click a link! i keep pressing refresh and then after several attempts it will get to the intended target. Now, several attempts can sometimes mean ive been pressing refresh until ive literally got fed up and closed the window down, its taken that long! i noticed when i clicked the arrow next to the Back button to see my previous destinations there is often urls that i dont recognise and ones that i definately havent visited!

I just tried a malwarebytes scan and it found nothing.

I use this laptop regularly so it is imperitive i get this sorted out as browsing the web is nearly impossible and extremely frustrating. I timed it and it took me 22 minutes to finally get to post this message due to repetitive error messages! lol

Thanks in advance!

A:'Internet Explorer Cannot Disply the Website' continous error

1) Have you run a full system scan with your anti virus app or just with MalwareBytes? If not, please do so.
2) What happens with a different browser (Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc)?

I'm trying to fix a classmates Windows 7 laptop that she desperately needs for school. I'm having a hard time figuring out what is going on with her internet explorer. Every time I try and load a page ( Google, Yahoo etc..) I get a error that there is a problem with the websites security certificate. Now, I can click "continue, not recommended" and usually get through but some sites, like the college home page, just come up as web page not available. I've tried turning off the firewall but that has not worked. Any suggestions?

A:Internet Explorer problem with website security certificate

The first thing I usually do is check the system date and time.

After that check to see if she's setup to use a proxy server.  I've seen this cause the same problem as well.

hey,

so i work at ashley furniture and we have some older computers.   We use windows XP, however they are all loaded on little hp servers.   The problem is whenever we open up certain webpages on internet explorer, ex. our own website,  www.ashleyfurniturehomestore.com,  the site has a continuous loop displaying the sale and it takes up all the memory (i guess that what you would call it)  so it makes it very very very difficult to use the page on our slow system.

Is there anyway to disable this without unchecking "show pictures" under internet options??

Somebody please help us!

A:Internet Explorer: Disabling website slideshows ex. www.ashleyhomestore.com

IE 8 is not supported anymore on many websites. Could be the same for your website? Furthermore, it's not getting anymore security updates from Microsoft. What about Firefox?

Hi there:

First of all I used Internet Explorer 7, my operating system is Microsoft Windows XP

Well the issue I'm having is that when I view a webpage such www.myspace.com and want to view my profile and all, my profile contains a music player and 2 videos as well. so the music player won't work and the 2 videos I have on my webpage, all it shows is a blank empty white box with nothing on it. So as soon I open the webpage an error massage displays saying:

Windows Internet Explorer:
Stop running the script?
A script on this webpage is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive!

I hope someone out there can help me with this issue since it's kinda anoying and it makes my compyter slower, only when I view the profile on the website I use!

Well Thanks and hope someone will replay!
