I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

PC purchased on 17/7/16 (able to prove) advertised as with manufacturers 1 year warranty, item delivered to me on 29/7/16. Online Warranty check details tell me expiry is 28/10/16. How do I get this date amended ? Thanks in advance

A:Incorrect warranty date

amethyst1969 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! The default warranty expiration date is set at the factory to be one year from the PC's manufacture -- as they have no idea when it will actually be purchased. You have to REGISTER the warranty to activate it, and once you do that, the expiration date will change to be one year from the date of registration. For warranty issues, you need to contact HP Customer Support: If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.htmlNOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!Good Luck

I have two issues. The first issue is that I purchased my Sprout on January 13, 2016 and when checking the warranty online it states that it started on November 6, 2015. I have read other forums about this being a known issue and I would like this fixed immediatly.  Secondly, I have just set up and started my new Sprout today. (It took a while because we just bought this house and wanted to make sure we had the office set up before we set up the Sprout.) The speakers DO NOT work. I have done everything that I could possibly think of to make them work and still nothing. I am currently on hold with HP Customer Service and have no spoken to a rep yet. I have been on hold for 15 minutes so far. Can someone please HELP me! Thank You

A:My warranty start date is incorrect.

Brooklynn429, welcome to the forum. Here is a answer to how to deal with the difference in the waranty start date: We have a PoP process setup for this. Proof of Purchase. We don't have access to sales systems for everything we've sold through our partners and retailers so we have to use the good old fashion Proof of Purchase system. The customer simply sends (fax I think is the current method) us the receipt and we update the warranty status. That simple. I guess it goes without saying that they need to contact support for this. You will have to contact HP Customer Support to get this accomplished. As for your sound, I suggest going into the Control Panel / Sound to see if the speakers are selected as the Default.  Sometimes in Win 10 the settings are changed for no apparent reason. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Hi @Jtsnr ,

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publically post ( serial numbers and case details).

I purchased a new Y560 from CompUsa in October but the warranty expiration date on the Lenovo website reflected June. My intent was to purchase a warranty extension so I wanted to make sure the dates were correct.  I called several departments and finally got someone who told me to email my proof of purchase.  In the meantime I ended up exchanging the laptop due to a RAM issue but this serial number had the same problem.  The date on the website indicated the laptop was purchased in June.    I went ahead and emailed a copy of my new receipt to [email protected] and I even explained that the serial number was different that I'd originally told them due to the exchange. I never heard back so I eventually called again.  The person had to dig through the email files to find my emailed receipt.  She found it, indicated it woudl be corrected and even offered me a discount on the 2 yr extension.  At the end of the call she asked if there was anything else and thought it would be good to just double  check she got the right serial number.  Of course she hadn't!  She was updating the old serial number and putting the two year extension on the laptop I had exchanged.    We sorted that out and when I got my receipt for the extension the serial number was correct but when I go to the warranty lookup it still shows the incorrect date.  I read in this forum that the website doesn... I purchased a brand new Pavilion notebook and received it on Monday (September 12, 2016). When I customized it I choseHP 3 year Accidental Damage Protection with 3 day Onsite Pavilion Notebook Service to go with it. I noticed late Monday that HP has only 1 year Manufacturer Warranty attached to it. I have made NUMEROUS phone calls about this between yesterday and today and no one is fixing the issue. they keep telling me yesterday that the issue is fixed and I would be to see it fixed on the website "in a few hours". This was warily afternoon when I was told this. I waited at least 5 hours to check the website and it still said that I have 1 year Manufacturer Warranty. Then I checked again today and it still said 1 year Manufacturer Warranty. If you look at my order details it says Product Number is ABC (edited for security reasons). If you press fn+esc or look at the bottom of the system it say the Product Number is XYZ (edited for security reasons). It has the serial number for BOTH serial numbers. I don't know if this is the issue or what is. I need this fixed in case I need it and it seems like no one knows how.

A:Warranty Checker Displays Incorrect Expiration Date

I will request someone look at this to see if they can get it resolved for you. Did you get any papers for the Accidental Coverage? Thinking you may have to register that first- just a guess though.  As for the Product number being different that usually changes when you customize the base model and are assigned a new Product number to match the hardware/software in your model. This should not have any negative impact on warranty coverage.

Hello everyone. I'm thinking of purchasing a T470 and it appears that it comes with a 3 year onsite warranty as standard here in the UK (with the student discount anyway). My main question is that will I be able to make warranty claims even if I'm not in the UK? I'm going to be going to China in August and I'll be there for a good 10 months (maybe more) so I want to know if I'll be able to make warranty claims there. Going along with that, if I am able to make warranty claims in China, will I have to make the claim in Chinese to Lenovo China, and what is the chance that the technician speaks English (especially in a second tier city)? I'd say my Mandarin is "OK" at the moment but I know very few computer related terms. I think I could just about get by with what I know and the dictionary app on my phone, a roommate helping, or someone in the International Students office helping over the phone, but I'd feel much better having making the claim and talking to the technician in English if possible. Finally, I'll probably buy some RAM and a SSD from Amazon if the price is significantly cheaper than Lenovo. Will I have any problems with this if I need to make a warranty claim? Thanks in advance!

If the ownership transfer doesn't go through, contact the seller to find out why - if the system was originally sold through a grey market channel, you can indeed have transfer issues - your seller should be able to tell you.

It seems Lenovo just rolled out new plans for  Thinkpad customer to choose their warranty add-ons. It moved from old optional plans with different extent of bundled products (e.g. ADP, KYD, Sealed battery) into an a-la-carte item model for the customer to choose. I compare Lenovo online sales website in HK, JP, SG and US and have the following findings: 1. Not all countries have rolled out the new warranty options scheme yet (e.g. Lenovo HK and Lenovo JP is still using old "bundled" warranty plan option) 2. Inconsistencies on the choice of additional warranty services available for Thinkpad customers (For Levono SG, Seal Battery, Keep Your Drive are not available as add-ons if the customer chooses Depot Warranty plan, while Lenovo US offers these add-ons to both Depot and Onsite Warranty. Meanwhile, Lenovo US customer need to buy an add-on for international warranty but Lenovo HK, SG offers the international warranty to all new Thinkpads they sold. 3. Lack of transparency on warranty add-on pricing. I noted Lenovo SG priced Seal Battery Add-on for T480s at SGD330 but same Add ons in Lenovo US is only quoted at USD$26. Can Lenovo explain why such discrepencies happen? I have had my laptop for several years now and I no longer have the box/reciept/proof of purchase. I am involved in a class action suit and my laptop is eligible for a replacement, but the claims form is asking for some sort of proof of purchase. On the site for the class action lawsuit I read this: "Required documentation is a form of proof of purchase, which shows the date that you purchased your notebook computer. Proof of purchase can be a sales receipt, credit card or other account statement, shipping manifest, purchase order, proof of registration, or such other documentation that the Administrator deems sufficiently reliable to demonstrate that one of the specified models was purchased in the specified purchase date range, along with the product identification number found on the back of your notebook computer and the date of when the notebook computer was purchased." I am wondering if there is any way to find out when I registered my product, because I am almost 100% sure I would have done that the moment I turned it on. Thanks for your time.

HiThe fan of my less-than-half-a-year-old T470 suddenly began to emit strange noise and I went to a local service provider in CA. My laptop was bought in Russia with a 3-year international warranty. The service provider told me that he might have to send it back to Russia, and they will consult with Lenovo within a week. That is a huge surprise for me, as shipping it back and forth might take a long time. Can I somehow request to repair my laptop inside the US and is there any opportunity to claim a temporary replacement for the time the laptop is being repaired? Thanks

I've got a Toshiba Satellite M645-S4070 that i bought at around February this year. I've been getting BSOD's about once a month, sometimes randomly when it's idle, sometimes when i'm browsing. I have upgraded the ram to 8Gb Corsair because of the work I do on it. I ran memtest and nothing is wrong with the ram. Avira antivirus is up to date, scanned, laptop is clean. I've recently bought an M-Audio Fast Track Pro. Everything else is untouched.

-Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
-This is the original OS installed on this laptop, never formatted or system restored.
-Original Retail version
-Age: About 8 months
-Cpu: Intel Core i5 M460 @2.53GHz
-Video Card: Intel HD Graphics
-Motherboard: Toshiba NBQAA? (its a laptop)
-Manufacturer: Toshiba
-Model Number: Satellite M645-S4070

I really hope someone can find something because its getting kind of annoying that at any time this laptop can crash while I'm working on something important. Thank you.

A:Frequent BSOD's with new laptop since date of purchase

I just did the driver verifier tutorial and my laptop BSOD, I've attached the minidump files.

This morning I turned on my computer and AVG and my Last.fm program kept showing errors that the date and time on my computer are wrong. I went to synchronize the time and it would not update because it said the incorrect date was selected. I changed the date to today's date, but today's date falls on a Sunday according to the date on my computer. I made sure the year was correct and I ran a virus scan, and it hasn't done anything to fix the problem. Any suggestions?

A:Incorrect Date

If your computer keeps losing its time and date then this is a sign that the CMOS/BIOS battery needs replacing.

Thanks!!

A:Date for 8.1 purchase that will provide free upgrade to Windows 10

...when Microsoft will provide a free upgrade to version 10 when 8.1 is purchased?

Thanks!!
That's just a rumor as far as I know and pie in the sky.
