I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Windows 8.1 Mail app push email notification for Outlook account, Calendar and People automatic synchronization stopped working yesterday (it was working for one year). I haven't changed anything. Note it stopped working
on two different devices at the same time. The only way to get new email messages is manual synchronization by the Sync button now. No error messages in Event log, I also tried to reinstall all three apps, no change. Note that calendar push
notifications still works (on both device).

I believe it is a server issue because TcpView now reports livecomm.exe process connection to
dub407-m.hotmail.com server on both devices affected while it was something like
snt000-m.hotmail.com (I don't remember the number exactly) before when it had worked. It seems to be my Microsoft account specific issue because notifications on other Microsoft account where Mail, Calendar and People apps are connected to
col403-m.hotmail.com server still works.
Short summary:

My MS account until 20 Jan 2016 - connection to snt000-m.hotmail.com - notifications/synchronization workedMy MS account from 21 Jan 2016 - connection to dub407-m.hotmail.com - notifications/synchronization does not workOther MS account - connection to col403-m.hotmail.com - notifications/synchronization still work

I don't know where to report it and I also don't want to create a new Microsoft account to "fix" that hoping it won't be redirected to the dub407-m server node again.

but when I check for the new email there is no email to be found. If I click the envelope it takes me to the first email in my actual inbox and not in one of my sub-inbox folders. It has been doing this for awhile but lately it has been beyond ridiculous. I normally leave my email minimized in my task bar and maximize it when I get an email. Is this is known issue?

I have Outlook running minimized most of my day. Is there a way to have Outlook 2000 to display more information in the "New Message Notification" box that comes on-screen when a new email arrives? I'd like the sender and subject line to show, so I can choose to either hit "Yes" and open the message or hit "No" and check it later without ever having to switch to Outlook.

I'm hoping there is a plug-in or utility that would alter the existing notification box with sender and subject information. I've seen programs that make a system tray pop-up with that info, but that's not really what I want.

Any ideas??

Question for anyone about IE's history,

When IE 7 first came out of Beta and was ready for general public release, how long was it before MS pushed System Tray Update notifications about it for those who were running IE 6? Are updates for IE 6 still available, or has MS discontinued updates for IE 6?

I will be using the answers in this thread to gage a general estimate as to when the public may be expected to receive System Tray update notifications for IE 8. My guess is that any type of automatic update push or notification will not be made available before January 1, 2010. Does that sound like a good estimate? Why or why not?

Hi! I'll try to keep this as brief as possible, but it's really difficult to explain. One of my email buddies (fortunately he's an honest person) recently told me that any email I send him, from both my home and work computers, has a ton of garbled info attached to the end of the email... The info includes previous emails I've sent to other people, cell phone bill details, shopping details - ANY and EVERYTHING I do online is connected to my emails to him. It doesn't matter what email I use... My Outlook account at work, Gmail, Aol, RR... it all attaches info to EVERY email I send to him. Even the "Read Receipt" he receives when I click on one of his emails has info attached to it. !?!?!?!!! IT'S EXTREMELY DISTURBING! And he also receives info from my family members who use my computer at home, so it's not just MY info he's receiving.

I do know that he is on a "Whitelist" with the company he works for (for a very important reason), so he's not bound to the security that everyone else is protected by. He's had his computer restaged twice and it still keeps happening. He uses Outlook and it happens with his desktop AND his laptop at work.

I thought about talking to my IT Helpdesk at work, but haven't yet since this is happening from EVERY computer I use, so I know it's not a specific computer issue. Is there, perhaps, something that my friend has done, without my knowing, to gain access to my per... Read more

Is there a way to notify users when there is less than a certain amt. of Gig space on a server.

The server does notify the administrator via the event viewer and there might be a way to set the resource meter to send a net message when a threshold is reached. There are tools from third parties that will do this.

Hi etwelper32,

I'm wondering if there's an email program which is configured to check for emails on a specific time, and because there seems to be an issue with which file is needed to open / run it, it's causing that error message.

Just throwing some ideas out there, but is there a chance that you do have something that does in fact check for emails on a scheduled time? If so, then post back for additional.

I would be grateful if someone could explain if or how I can receive notification when emails arrive. I use an email client (eM Client) and if it is open I do get notification of the arrival of emails in both of my email accounts (GMX & Gmail).
However, when eM Client is closed I do not receive notification. Is this a matter to be dealt with in eM Client itself of can I get Windows 10 to notify me? I do not want Windows to take over the job of my email client, I just want notification of the arrival of emails whether or not eM Client is open or closed.

Hmmm.   I'm in Win 7 right now, so I can't check instantly.   HERE,  I go to the Control Panel, to Hardware and Sound, to Sound, to Change System Sounds, and somewhere along the line I see "New mail notification."  Which is apparently essential to producing music, or some sort of BLEEPppppp! on my system ninety-eleven times per day.

I gotta admit, I'm an inferior person, a nonentity, a mere semblance of a real human being.  I just don't pay a whole lot of attention to the sounds that come out of my computer unless I'm watching a video or something.

I'm not the guy  to solve your problem, you understand.  However, I'm very fond on poking at things.  So.  Click your mouse on "new mail notification" (or anything else if that one's missing) and then go down about an inch and click on "Test."

Was there a sound?  If not, pick something else ("Critical stop" is probably a good one) and see if that can make a sound.  If everything seems dead, go back up an inch or so to "Sound Scheme" and change what you've got to something else -- it's been my experience that the default Windows sound for most events is silence, so maybe you'll find something interesting.

Failing that ... click on the speaker icon on the bottom right of your monitor, see what the volume level is for "System Sounds."

You're hearing sounds from other things, right?   It's just the email that b... Read more

A:Solved: notification email

Do You mean Read Receipts ?

To configure read Receipts in Outlook,

Click on Tools/Options/Email Options/Tracking Options, you can then configure the read receipts how you like. Each machine on your network can be set to automatically send a notification (read receipt) once the mail is opened.

You can also set it to ask the user if they want to send the read receipt, but it is probably better from your Boss's point of view to have each machine configured to do it automatically.

It seems to have started after updating Opera to it's latest version...at least I never saw this happen previously. If I select this website, or any other from SpeedDial, it displays the website normally. But if I select a email notification link, it takes me to the appropriate location, but not logged in as it should, and the favicon is something that I don't recognize, as can be seen below. What is going haywire, and how can I fix it?

EDIT: Even after logging in, the favicon doesn't return to it's usual design.

A:Email Notification Links

The favicon on the tab on the right is a private browsing icon. Right click the tab bar, and the 2nd choice is New private tab, and you'll see that icon.

Somehow your email notifications are opening in a private tab. Try this, open IE and make it the default browser.

Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. Click the Programs tab, and then click Make default. Click OK, and then close Internet Explorer.

Now make Opera the default browser again.

Go to Settings > Preferences > Advanced > Programs. Tick the checkbox for Check if Opera is default browser on startup. Next time you start Opera, answer Yes when the dialog asks you if you want Opera to be the default browser on your computer.

See if that has fixed the association. A Guy

Hi guys, new users here!

I have an existing work book containing 4 tabs all with multiple columns.
The information contained within this workbook is a maintenance schedule for repairs on air conditioning for a few thousand different sites.
The cells in question simply contain a "1" in the relevant month column as to when the maintanence is due.

I currently use very basic conditional formatting to change the colours of the cells if the maintenance is due this month, overdue last month, or a warning if a maintenance is a week away from being due.

(NOTE: I'll refer to the maintenances as PPM's)

It has become imperitive that I find a better way to track overdue PPM's, my director has asked if there is a way we can send an email notification (just to one person if needs be) if the date in the cell has become overdue / due that day.

I have very little experience with VBA but I have played around with Python and Java so programming isnt completely new to myself.

Anyone that can provide any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Regards,

Tom
