I belive this started happening after I updated my Bios and did windows update. This has been going on for around a month and I am frustrated and cannot find a solution online anywhere. Please help. Solutions I have tried:Turning my laptop on and off/restart.I have tried turning off fast startup and this temporarily fixed my keyboard but did not last.Tried updating my drivers through Lenovo update, windows, and device manager.I have gone into device manager and deleted my keyboards and that only worked temporarily too.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Usually, when groups of keys in rows or columns stop working, the problem is the keyboard itself. Are you still under warranty?

Hello my 8 month old yoga mic was working fine until the driver was auto updated, i believe through windows update and now the yoga cannot hear me at all.  I uninstalled the Realtek driver and installed the Microsoft HD drivers under Sound, video and game controllers with no change.   My yoga was also updated to Win 10, ver 1809 at this time, which i hear is buggy.  I also installed the latest Realtek drivers from Lenovo and that did not fix the problem either. I turned off Beam forming in the Realtek HD manager and that did not make a difference either!! Please Help,, this is so frustrating!!!!!

Hello - We have owned this Lenovo Yoga (product specs below) for about 3 years with no issues. suddenly, a handful of keys stopped working from the keyboard.  I can type just fine using an external keyboard, or by using the screen keyboard. The letters that don't work: g, i, o and p.   I updated the bios and all other drivers from the Lenovo site, hoping it was just a driver issue, but it seems pretty obvious that it's a hardware issue.  I deleted the kayboard from device manager and re-installed, as well.  I have swapped out Lenovo keyboards before, but this one looks different.  Using an external keyboard is not a long term possibility for this user.   Any thoughts?  Thank you all!Device:Yoga Laptop (ThinkPad)Machine Type: 20CD00BYUSOS: Windows 10 (64bit)Processor: 1x Intel Core i7-4600U Processor(i7-4600U): Memory: 1x 8GB PC3-12800

Tried restarting, removing multiple languages from keyboard (except the default, Australia), running a virus scan and checking drivers (all up to date). Microsoft says keyboards are working fine. Unlike last time, the corresponding keys on the onscreen keyboard aren?t working either. But all keys in the tablet mode are. I have already sent it for warranty and they fixed it, but the issue is recurring. Does anyone have any other solutions?

Hi, I'm interested in getting the new C930 or C930 Glass. However, my work requires me to use the num lock keys and I wanted to know if there's support for it. Usually in laptops, since we don't have dedicated num keys, they use the keys 7,8,9, U, I, O etc... Does the C930 support it? Thanks

Hello there,I have Lenovo Yoga 13 with Windows 8.1 and recently it has started behaving strangely. It was in hibernation for some time, then I opened it and the notification ?Autorotation on/Autorotation off? started winkling and changing all the time in the upper left corner. I had great problems with typing my account password because keyboard did not obey my actions. After some time, I found out that if I pressed ?r? button, command line appeared. The same for the others buttons, just as ?windows? button was pressed. So, I downloaded SharpKeys and turned off left ?windows? button. After that winkling notification about autorotation disappeared, but the ?o? button began always typing itself, as if it was stuck and it continues to behave the same way. Everything goes well if autorotation button on the right side of laptop is pressed and held, but after pressing this button no notification appears just as if it is broken. If it is not pressed and held, ?o? button types itself and also touchpad works bad. I have also turned off ?o? button, but touchpad still works really bad and it is very uncomfortable not to have ?o? button. What I have already tried to deal with this problem:Checking for virusesDeleting recent softwareAutomatic drivers update via Lenovo websiteKeyboard and Synaptics drivers reinstallationChanging autorotation parameters in registryWhen I disconnected keyboard from the laptop, notification ?Autorotation on/Autorotation off?... I am using a Lenova Yoga 920 laptop. These problems go away after rebooting the computer, but then re-emerge after using the computer for a while, and persist until I reboot again. It is getting very irritating, and interfering with my work.  - A mysterious floating white circle appeared on my desktop background. I cannot click on or interact with it, and changing the desktop background does not remove the circle. Then, a second circle appeared. Now, there is also a floating white rectangle. The rectangle poses the biggest issue, because it remains on TOP of whatever other windows I have open, constantly obstructing part of my screen unless I reboot the computer. The circles remain on the desktop background. I have attached a picture of these weird white artifacts on my display. Things I have already tried:- Installing all available Windows patches and updates- Updating graphics driver- Checking/unchecking auto-brightness settings

Hello, We have 3 docks (Dell D6000, Thinkpad USB C dock, and a pluggable usb c dock) at our office and just recently purchased this laptop to connect with one of the three docks and use 3 external displays. For some reason, when connecting monitors to all 3 ports on all three docks, we are unable to get all 3 displays and the laptop. We can only get 2 displays and the laptop as a third. That being said, on the pluggable dock, we were able to get all 3 externals and the laptop as a fourth about 1 in every 15 or so connects. Otherwise we get 2 displays and the laptop. If we disconnect one of the displays, we can get one that was off to turn on, but we are again stuck with 2 displays and the laptop. The Think pad docks gets all of the displays, but at horrible low resolutions (it has 2 DPs and a VGA). Their is no consistency at all and I'm trying to avoid returning the laptops. We have checked that the latest drivers are installed and installed the displayport drivers from their website. Another weird thing is that sometimes the docks are charging the laptop and other times it shows "plugged in, not charging" on all 3 docks. We have a dell that is not as nice body wise, but connects to all 3 docks and gets 3 external and the laptop, but these yogas are nicer. Is what I'm trying to do possible with this laptop?

The symptoms:One day when you've opened or closed the lid as you would with normal use, you here a pop and notice that the screen has separated from the lid body in one of the corners near the hinge (the screen glass may or may develop a crack a that point). If you chose to do nothing though, this problem will only get worse and, eventually, the screen glass will crack.  The problem:The root cause of the problem is the use of glue/adhesive applied by the manufacturer to keep hinge assembly attached to lid body. After a while the glue fails to hold the hinge in place and it separates from the lid. When that happens (with a pop), the hinge mounting plate (made of steel) is now moving freely between the screen and the lid so when you try to move the lid, it's pushing against the back of the screen causing screen glass to bend outward. This applies to ALL Lenovo Yoga series notebooks as their hinge design is the same and Lenovo is aware of it... but choses to do nothing. Support:Given that Lenovo designed this hinge and chose the materials and methods to assemble it, you would think that it would take the responsibility for it failing to last passed warranty. Unfortunately, no such luck. When you call support, you get nothing but denial and blame for mishandling their state-of-the-art product and causing it to fail. So you end up with a total disappointment on your hands and a bitter taste of unfairness. Repair:The hinge can be repaire... Read more

Hi all. I purchased Lenovo Yoga 920 Glass Edition from Lenovo Web Store on September 13, 2018. The notebook was delivered to me on September 21, 2018 in Chicago. I bought the highest configuration available for this IdeaPad i.e. 4K display, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD. During the initial three weeks of usage, I have experienced "blue screen" error crash while working in Windows on several occasions. On October 16, 2018 after yet another blue screen error crash, the system completely failed and I could have never used the notebook again ever since. It seems that there was a complete SSD failure since no SSD was detected by BIOS and Lenovo Windows Recovery Key did not help either. Finally, I run a hardware scan that showed all components passed the test, except the SSD, which was not even scanned since it was not recognized as existing at all. The conclusion is very likely that my 1TB SSD died after only three weeks of usage. Having said the above, I am unable to use my US$2k worth notebook ever since mid-October last year. The trouble is that I live in Montenegro (Europe) and this notebook is under Continental warranty, meaning that it can be repaired only int the US or Canada. I have asked Lenovo to make exception and allow their local authorized repair center in Montenegro do the repair, but that was refused under the excuse that some parts may be unavailable since the notebook was assembled in the US. I doubt that this would be a problem since ... Read more

Hello, besides the materials used to make the case, is there other differences?

A:What are the differences between Yoga 920 and Yoga 920 Glass 14"

Hi lenovotv,

Greetings.

Yoga 920 Glass is mainly with the fashionably designed gorilla glass as main difference. In details, it would be specific if you use a part number /MTM instead to compare to variants of machine (ex. 80Y8000UUS).

From the website, click view current models then check on the compare box. Take note that the default Yoga 920 without glass can be customize so you can also change specific part parameter. If you have a specific part number in mind then we can also match it with 80Y8000UUS Yoga 920 Glass.

I hope this helps answer your query.
Update us how it goes for you.

Regards

Normally I have to hold down the fn key and then a function key in order to do something. For example I need to hold fn and then click F1 if I want to mute the sound. Today all of a sudden, I did not have to hold down the fn key anymore. This means that the ways fn and the function keys interact have switched. I was wondering why this would have happened out of nowhere and if I should be worried? I have looked all over and I definitely have not accessed the BIOS and fn+esc just changes the screen to paper display. How could I have changed the way fn and the function keys have been working?

Dear Forum Readers:I have owed this product for about 2 years.  I am finding that the smallest amount of natural finger grease/oils is noticeable on the keys after using it for just a few minutes.   Drives me crazy!    Am continually cleaning the keys with screen cleaner that I spray on a microfiber cloth, and gently wiping the keys (computer is off).   Other than wearing latex gloves, or washing my hands every few seconds (neither of which is practical), does anyone have any ideas as to how to prevent natural finger oils from getting on the keys?    Other than this product, I have used DELL computers and never had this problem (or, at least, the grease/oil was not noticeable as it is on this Lenovo Yoga Pro 2).Thank you!

Hi rjmakar ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As wear-effect maybe placed on the keys in time as we use it , it would help simply having a keyboard protector similar to this and this as it would also prevent dust and liquid spill at the same time giving you a good finger leverage during typing.

Hope this help answer your query.

You can change the volume in software, but neither the volume +- on the keyboard, nor the volume rocker on the side of the machine will change the volume. That is, UNLESS you open the task manager, and then click on the services tab. As long as the focus is on the services tab, then the volume on the keyboard and the rocker will both work. If you click on another window, or if you click on a tab other than the services tab, both sets of buttons stop working. Also, both sets of buttons work fine in Linux.

I sent the laptop in for repair, the keyboard was replaced, and I did not have any issues since then. That is, until recently. For about 2 days now, I have been having the same problem again, except with different keys this time. One point of consistency is that both times I have had this issue, the broken keys were all on the right side of the keyboard. I have already tried updating drivers and draining power then rebooting. The specific keys not working are 8, =, i, ], and k (both shifted and not).  I recently updated my BIOS and chipset, could this have anything to do with it? Is there another possible solution, or do I have to send it in again? Thanks in advance.

Hello Community,  I have a problem for my lenovo Yoga 720 keyboard. Some keys "1","q","a", z" (as far as I know of) just stopped working suddenly. I am using Windows 10-64 bit. It has been up-to-date I then used 'Lenovo System Update' to update my BIOS to the most recent version, and anything else that I was suggested to update. The keyboard keys still didn't work. It actually worked a tiny while, like it seldomly tryped out some of the letter it didn't work, then all failed keys stopped working again. Then I tried to reset windows, and re-install windows 10. However, it didn't work at all. The on-screen keyboard works fine. Under the 'Commandrompt", failed keys didn't work either. I am not sure if it is the hardware of software problem in this case. Anyone has the same problem? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Hello all, I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 (20FY0002US), which was purchased 14 months ago, so it is just out of warrenty. It worked great, although I only use it when I travel. Starting from a few days ago, some of keys of it are not working. These keys are near the edges of the keyboard, such as "1", "q", "a", "z", the ESC key, the windows key, the space key, and the backspace key. The keys in the middle as wel as the function keys are fine.   I believe that It is not an issue related to the windows, but the problem exists even in the BIOS. I tried to update the BIOS and the drivers, but no help. I also have disconnected and reconnected the ribbon cables of the keyboard, no help as well. Any help/suggestions? Thanks a lot.
