Windows XP Mode gives me not enough system resources or memory error, 32 Bit Windows and no Google chrome installed

Q: Windows XP Mode gives me not enough system resources or memory error, 32 Bit Windows and no Google chrome installed

Hi, my XP mode was working fine until couple of days ago that I got error: " 'XP" could not be started because there are not enough system resources or memory in your computer. You can shut sown other virtual machines or close open application
and try again." I was reading the forum and I saw everyone was able to fix the issue
disabling ?GoogleCrashHandler.exe (64-bit version)? or by disabling "Automatically send usage statistics and crash reports to Google" through Chrome's configuration. But
in my case I'm running 32 bit windows 7 so there is no GoogleCrashHandler.exe running and also I haven't got Google Chrome on my laptop. I have only got internet explorer and Firefox (Chrome is blocked by our IT!). And I have actually got enough
resources on my laptop, I have got 8 GB of RAM and over 65 GB free space on my hard drive.

I would much appreciated if anyone could help me fixing this problem.
thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Outlook 2007 is behaving badly. It has now started very regularly giving me this error message:

"Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again."

I don't understand why. I don't recall making any changes to my setup, etc, which has been operating just fine with Office 2007 until the last few weeks.

I am running Windows XP. I have 3 Gb of RAM, yet when I only have Outlook running and nothing else, it'll throw up that message once I open 4-5 emails, even plain text ones. The first time I know I have a problem is either when I cannot read the email (it's 'transparent' so that I'm reading what's on the screen behind it, rather than the email) or when it won't allow me to add an attachment to an email. And if I do have other programs open, it makes no difference if I do close them down. Outlook won't function until I close it and re-open it. But I'm starting to have to do that a dozen times a day!

When I have WIndows Task Manager running, I can see that every time I open an email, the use of system resources balloons anywhere to 35 - 55% which makes no sense (more even than booting up Word or Excel). But I can't figure out where the problem might lie. Any suggestions?

I tried creating a new Outlook profile, rebooted, used that. Same problem.
I tried hunting through Microsoft Support, but couldn't find anything that mirrored this problem.

Shortcut path: C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop
The name on this desktop shortcut is "Google Chrome"

Processed tried for creating another desktop shortcut icon for Google Chrome:
Open File Explorer
Go through path to the item C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
Right-Click this chrome.exe item or file
Chose Send To..., and within the choices there, chose Desktop(create shortcut)
The new desktop shortcut on the desktop has on its own, the name, "chrome - shortcut"
Shortcut path: C:\Users\Admin\Desktop

Making the new shortcut into incognito:
Right clicked the desktop shortcut icon just made
Click Properties
Target field is already highlighted.  Press keyboard right-arrow button, press spacebar one time, type the word 'incognito'  but not use any quotation marks, click Apply and Ok.

The new shortcut to google chrome with the Target adjusted was tested and will open Google Chrome directly into Incognito mode.

Only thing now to do is try to rename the new icon to mention "incognito" and see if this desktop icon still works.

Hi there,

I'm having BSOD problems with my Dell XPS 15z laptop. I recently received a BSOD Memory Management error while using Google Chrome. I have searched several pages looking up for solutions, but with no results. Ran the usb boot version of Memtest86+ around 2 hours and reported no errors. Have reinstalled my OS several times with no success. I kept on searching through the web and found this forum that deals with BSOD; followed every step to get the Memory Dump files into a zip. Below is the attachment made:
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to SevenForums.

Test the ram again, following this way:
Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Quote:
The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes.
Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot.
If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.
If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.
3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot.
If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.
If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.

Yesterday,  this file dcdktkzyl.exe started hogging resources on my desktop running Win 7 Pro.   It shows as Chrome in taskmgr.  The file is siting in Users/Appdata/Myusername/locallow/Microsoft/qeecowjnc/slpdawm/.  I had never observed it before. and I usually monitor running processes.

Webroot support looked at it--and was not sure what it is.  It does not show up on this laptop as a Chrome file.  The tech support guy deleted Chrome but this file is still there and running.  It is also persistent and replicates itself if deleted.  If I block within Webroot it then just keeps popping up as blocked and this also slows resources materially.

My practice is to turn off the machine at bedtime and reboot it every morning, so that it gets a fresh start every day. I upgraded to Windows-7 from -XP about a month ago, applied all available updates and thought it the right move until recently. Now after the machine runs several hours, when I try to invoke another program, I get, usually with reference to the invoking filename from Windows Explorer,

"Insufficient System Resources exist to complete the requested service"

It does allow the Windows Task Manager to start, after several seconds of black screen, where I see three things of interest:
1. Display resolution shrinks to 640x480
2. Memory utilization is above 3.9 GB (out of 4)
3. The program, iexplore.exe, keeps thrashing in and out every few seconds.

Another item of interest that begins shortly after system boot is the cursor on the display. Instead of the normal arrowhead pointing up at an angle of about 110 degrees, I see the arrowhead plus an hour-glass just beside it. The hour-glass is blinking on and off at a rate of several times per second. This behavior is more or less continual. When the hour-glass goes away, the next invocation gets the insufficient resource message.

Gentlemen, this is clearly what, thirty years ago on UNIX, we used to call a "memory leak" -- in this case, as atrocious as any I ever saw. Rebooting the machine, starting only the Windows Task Manager and watching the memory utilization, I see it rising at an... Read more

Hi - running patch current Windows 8.1, and am having an ongoing but not always constant issue regarding how much memory I have available to me on any given boot of Windows.
I have 32 GB of memory installed on the computer, and yet almost 17.3 GB of that is not available to me, and is shown as Hardware Reserved when I look at the Physical Memory in the Resource Monitor.
I have validated the memory is error free through multiple runs of Memtest, have removed memory strips and blown out any possible dust from memory slots, and SOMETIMES, it properly will show me around 30.4 GB available, however most boots it is showing pretty
consistently that 17.3 GB is flaged as Hardware Reserved.

I did some searching, and have tried some of the suggestions, such as making sure the Maximum Memory box is not checked in MSCONFIG, and have also tried editing ClearPageFileAtShutdown in the Registry to change it from the default value of '0' to a
new value of '1'.  Nothing has worked thus far.
I DO need access to as much of that 32 GB of memory as possible, due to this computer using huge amounts of memory as a Digital Audio Workstation, recording music with huge volumes of samples loaded fully into memory.  Performance suffers greatly when
half of what is installed is not available.
I have also looked in the BIOS for any ways to adjust video memory and memory mapping and neither exists in the BIOS at all for me to try anything with.  The CPU happens to be an AMD ... Read more

We tried going into safe mode or safe mode with networking, but we get the blue screen of death and it will not allow it. After rebooting a few times it appears we also have Security Tool virus (the fake anti-virus malware). There are several files that seem to be associated with it including C:/Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\32224922\32224922.exe

I have tried uninstalling avg (one of it's files is running 88,000+ on the task mgr) but it gives errors and freezes as well.

How can I get rid of this stupid thing when it won't let me do anything or go into safe mode? I have read several other posts but it seems they had a different version of this and the solutions don't work in my case. Please help!

Have you tried using Safe Mode with Networking by tapping Funciton 8 as Windows tries to load? If that works, go to http://www.crucial.com, select your country and click on Scan my Computer. Accept the ActiveX object and let the scan complete. It will tell you what memory (RAM) you have and how much you can increase it by, as well as giving you a price which is usually quite competitive.

If that doesn't work and you're comfortable with a little light disassembling, turn the laptop on its lid on a soft surface - cushion or similar. Look at the base for an icon which looks like a small rectangle on one of the removable hatches and carefully remove that hatch. If you don't have the exact size screwdriver, don't even attempt it but a cheap pack of jewellers' screwdrivers from a hardware shop will have the right one.

Gently press the clips on each side of the memory or RAM stick outwards so the stick releases and springs up. Post back the details from the label along with the make and model of the laptop and someone will advise you how much to buy to supplement or replace it.

The problem I'm having is this:

When I startup Windows XP I get the following message:

"Windows cannot create a temporary profile directory. This may be caused by insufficient security rights. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator"

DETAIL: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested sequence.

If I click on OK, I get the next screen:

"Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the default profile for the system"

DETAIL: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm the only one who uses the PC, so there is no network admin. The other day what I did was I was looking for ways to speed up the PC and found these 'tweaks' and now my pc doesn't get to Windows at all.

I've tried safe mode, tried getting to system recovery, but it never works, as the same thing happens. I got into the Windows XP Recovery Console and changed a few services to make them start on bootup..but that hasn't fixed it. At one point it did look like it was going to boot up but then it just pretty much stayed at a black screen.

Anyway, I was really hoping I could get some help. It's definitely not a hardware problem as I know what caused it, it's just a matter of how the heck I can get into at least system recovery to undo all this.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I just bought a new Toshiba laptop and to my surprise, it came with Chrome installed. Of course I fired it up as I am a Chrome fan. I also set up IE 9 which comes with Windows 7 as you know. My wife likes IE. I started comparing the two browsers and found that IE loads and runs faster. I like it better than Chrome now. For one thing, I can't make Chrome zoom anywhere between 125 and 150. 130 would be perfect. I can do this in IE. I also installed FF. Don't like it anymore either. Whenever I get it the way I like, there is a new build and none of my extensions work for a while. What a pain. Anyone else like IE again?

A:New laptop came with Google Chrome installed

if you add this add on to firefox then your add ons will work even when a new update is out, i have used it for a few years now and i think only two add ons wouldn't work. i am using the most up to date FF and have updated every time a new one comes out.

to answer your question , i cant stand IE , and i dont use chrome either.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545-0504 laptop that I bought in Italy in December 2009 which is running Windows 7 in Italian. The computer is old, short of memory, and is running hotter and hotter, so I have been meaning to replace it with a newer laptop. But I am a professional Japanese-English translator, so on the new computer I will need Windows in English and/or Japanese as well as MS Office in English and Japanese. And for the last few months I have been in Montenegro (where the language is Serbian and it might be hard to find even Windows in English) and Albania (don't even think about it). At the end of next week I should be flying to Tokyo, and there I should be able to buy a new laptop to meet my requirements, though I intend to keep my present laptop around for some time. In the meantime, today the laptop suddenly started acting up.

I have had Windows Update turned off since mid-May because, after weeks of reading around and various attempts, I could find no other way to keep Windows Update from sucking up all avai... Read more

A:Windows 7: In normal mode virtual memory gets reset to zero and Windows Update is blocked

There are three other things, but I do not know if they are significant.

1. On my first bootup yesterday (the first bootup after the installation of the QQ upgrade) the computer stopped during bootup and I got a black-and-white screen telling me that the power source was not recognized, and to press F1 to continue, F2 to ..., etc. I pressed F1 to continue, and when I arrived in normal mode I saw that the computer was recognizing the battery just fine. Since then, however, I get this same problem every time I reboot the computer, unless I first remove the battery, hold the power button down for 5 seconds, and then reinsert the battery. I have had this problem a few times in the past, perhaps one or two times per year, and that is how I have always resolved the problem, apparently a problem of residual charge. But until yesterday I had never had the problem repeatedly. So it might be that instead of malware I simply have a bunch of corruptions to Windows that occurred during the upgrade of QQ. (But due to the aggressive way QQ hides itself and protects itself, I still suspect the presence of malware.)

2. When I booted up this morning into safe mode I received a popup message -- one that I received 1-2 times yesterday after I had tried inserting values for virtual memory -- telling me that duplicate paging files had been created, which might cause a problem. I checked how much virtual memory was allocated, and it was back to "no virtual memory". I specified once agai... Read more

Hello,

Earlier today I clicked on a Facebook notification which led me to the site www.youckers.xyz, it required me to install an extensions, so I downloaded it and then it downloaded a virus. How can I delete it? I've tried going into my Extensions tab in Chrome, but the tab itself closed as soon I clicked on there. Do you guys know some solutions?

I tried to use my Antivirus, which didn't find any malicious software.

I've taken tons of advice to not fall for suspicious links, but this one didn't seem too suspicious cause it came from a Facebook notification.

Does anyone know some easy solutions?

P.S: I changed my passwords for Facebook, might change to YouTube, Gmail/Google+ and SoundCloud if needed.

EDIT: I think it is some type of Adware I installed.

Hi,

Was multitasking and installed what I believe was a fake Google Chrome update.  Based on some quick Google searching, I'm pretty sure this scam has been linked to something called a Zeus banking trojan.  Guessing that means I've installed some sort of keylogger.

File was called Chrome.exe and digitally signed by Air Software.  Running Windows Vista on an old Dell Inspiron17.  Basic McAfee AV.

For months I've been getting an auto Java update prompt on startup, located in the bottom-right toolbar, which I've been ignoring (gets blocked by Windows) and then closing. Today when using YouTube on Firefox (I generally use Chrome, but have a YouTube downloader built into FireFox) it prompted me that Java is out of date.  I rebooted, allowed that Java update to install, was distracted working on several other tasks on Chrome, and then saw the fake Chrome Update pop up.  Followed the steps blindly, as I was distracted.

Help in removing this, plus any other malware/viruses that have built up over the past couple of years would be appreciate.

Dispite turning WER in services and turning off the scheduler entry, wermgr.exe still loads lots of processes and clogs up the network.

It seems to be mostly due to an error with WMC which dumps gigabytes of logs. So any ideas?

Hi, I was adviced to post my problem in this forum. Initially I posted in the Windows XP section (HERE).My OS is Windows XP Pro SP3, which was first installed in 2005. It has grown with the years, but it has been running pretty stable and I hope I won't have to reinstall. I don't believe the problem was caused by a hard disk failure, because the disk is relatively new (cloned 2 years ago) and because I have a 2nd XP boot in another partition which runs flawlessly. Now, the problem is that Windows won't load drivers and generally mess up the startup process. I get the Welcome screen in 16 colors and VGA resolution and receive multiple "Bad Image" and "Insufficient Resources" error messages (eg. "NvCpl.dll - Bad Image"). After I click away these popups, any program I try to run crash with "Insufficient Resources" message. Icons and other graphics gradually disappear and soon the whole system hangs. I uninstalled the nVidia drivers from Safe mode and although I got more colors and slightly better resolution, the rest of error messages and problems remain.Safe mode seems to work fine, with network support as well (that's where I am now), although only if I log in as Administrator. If I log in my regular user account, the system starts up looking fine, but degrades pretty soon, similarly to Normal mode. In order to get these reports, I had to run DDS from safe mode and logged as Administrator. What else... In my effort to solve... Read more

Hi, all!

I have a question about Google. Right now, I have two tabs open but when I look at the 'Processes' tab in Windows 'Task Manager', it shows 8 separate instances of Chrome running. I know Google has apps that run in the background, and the problem is that these apps use up enough memory that they slow down my unit to the point where sometimes it freezes. I then can't turn them off because nothing (mouse, etc) is working.  How can I get my installation of Google to use less memory and perhaps turn off these background apps?

Thanks

A:Google Chrome memory hog

Chrome can do this to you !

Click on the three bar symbol in the top right hand corner and choose 'Settiings'. At the bottom of the screen you will see 'Show advanced settings', click on this and the page will expand. Scroll down until you come to 'System' and untick the box that says 'Continue running background apps . . .'.

This should solve your problem. If it doesn't, post back.
