Advice Request: Ordered T590 - Should I Have Gotten the P52?

Q: Advice Request: Ordered T590 - Should I Have Gotten the P52?

Need some affirmation from the experts (assuming you all are....) that the system will perform phenominally, or I do need to cancel the order and go for the bigger power of P52?My knowledge of hardware - 3.5 out of 10. I know the parts, but not how they all specifically work. Ordered the T590 after making concessions that I didn't "need" to get the P52 becuase I don't run engineering or 3D programs. My mom is a software engineer, who works remotely, and is currently travelling the US and Mexico, moving many times per year. Two years ago, her company gave her a T480 to work with and she's still using it. As my only computer - I assume the T series will be good enough? My usage:Heavy internet browser use - searching through the realtor MLS system, dotloop, docusign, Adobe Pro, etc... Need several websites up and running at once.Uploading and downloadng documents onto my computer and regularly into different websites. Emailing files several times a day. Light stock trading using TD Ameritrade software. Personal and business financal Excel use.Document and PDF creation/editing. Need bigger (15.6) screen to have 2 documents/sites displayed at the same timeWeight is a small factor, but I've got no problem with 5-6lbs.Price - $2,500-ish is comfortable for me because my entire financial life is through the laptop. I don't like to go too cheap on tools.Gaming: Spider Solitaire Goals:Fast performance.Reliable, sturdy laptop that can take traveling.Possibility to last to 10 years while still performing well. Price difference between the 2 isn't a big concern. T590 ordered - top processor available(1.8ghz quad core?), 24gb memory, 500-something SSD, Windows Pro. P52 desired - 2.7(or so)ghz processor, 32 gb RAM, 500-ish SSD, Windows Pro. Did I make a good chocie with the T590? Thanks...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi there guys, Hope this reaches the official team in charge of developing the UEFI for this two laptops. I would like to see an option in the graphic settings to allow me to disable the dedicated GPU (Nvidia MX250 in my case) and run only the laptop with the integrated Intel GPU and another option to run in normal "hybrid" mode. I have observe too, that when I select the option to give the integrated Intel GPU 512MB of video memory it does not retain the option after reboot and sometimes it doesn't even allow me to choose that option.Maybe a bug, I don't know, but I would like to have that fixed too.I'm using the latest UEFI/BIOS (1.52) by the way. Thanks for any feedback in advance. Best Regards,

Hi guys and gals,

My Dell is circa 2002 and has performed admirably..
so there's that..(kudos to DELL)

I'm finally getting around to doing some way overdue upgrades including
maxing out my RAM to 1024MB (I have now 512+256) and

So, now having 40MB HD and free space at...

I'm looking for at least an 80+MB HD..depending on cost.
Other than Dell (sorry Dell, looking for best price deal),
where do you recommend I can go to find a "reliable" HD

Any help appreciated.
If you'd care to further enlighten me, I'll be looking for instructions

I'm running WindowsXP SP2. Recently infected with SmartAntiVirus2009.

Steps I've taken to remove infections:

1. Used Avast to remove all infections found.
2. Used Malwarebytes to remove all infections found.
3. Used SuperAntiSpyware to remove all infections found.

Also worth mentioning is that my gmail account was compromised shortly after infection. Within days after initial infection, someone added a fake gmail account to mine, and started buying goods on ebay. From what I can tell, my eBay account shows no activity. All passwords have now been changed.

Got our computer back from the shop for a warranty repair and it came home with a Trojan, though we didn't know it. The trouble started as soon as we got it hooked back up--lots of weird behavior followed quickly by a shut-down/win.ini (if I got that right) problem.

Got it up and running again, sort of. The firewall kept disappearing, as well as Norton. Finally got Norton to stay up long enough to do a live update and scan--nada. Kept finding and deleting porno programs/files that were seemingly self-installing.

Ran MicroTrends online freebie which found and eliminated the Trojan (I can't remember which it was)

Got the firewall up and running again, and started seeing RB32 trying to connect.

Typing RB32 into a search engine is how I found this site and I thank everyone for all the great advice on how to get rid of that one.

So far:

Updated and ran Norton--basically useless

MicroTrends House Call--found and eliminated the Trojan

Found and eliminated TONS of folders storing porno stuff, a dialer, Strip Player and something else I can't remember, as well as something that seemed to be hijacking and storing phone messages and trying to connect with the internet--assumed it was up to no good.

Got rid of Rapid Blaster

My service refuses to give me a new ISP address, stating we have a dynamic ISP that will change sometime. (thought a change might prevent folks from looking for our computer and all the stuff someone stored here)

Are you saying your machine was fine, but came back from the repair shop mucked up? If that's the case, I would definitely take it straight back to the shop and have them clean it up. And then, once I got it home and confirmed everything was okay, I'd call the owner AND the BBB and report the business....

OK, so the time has finally come for me to upgrade my AMD 3200xp based system. My plan is to get the following:

Asus P5Q-E mobo
Intel E8400
2 ATi based 4830 in Crossfire
4gb Corsair Dominator RAM
Antec Neopower 650

A few questions about this
I've heard about potential issues installing an aftermarket CPU cooler with this CPU/mobo combination. Can any confirm this?

Not planning on overclocking immediately, is a video card cooler needed?

With the planned setup will there be significant bottlenecking at the CPU?
Anyone have any other input or advice on my intended build?

Thanks for the input.

I have a Cox Communications High-Speed Security Suite installed and running, but it can't get rid of the spyware that throws pop-ups all over the place, and keeps showing me ads for WinAntiVirus and other spyware removal products... ironic isn't it?

Looks like you have all been able to help other users with these issues, at this point any advice specific to my report below would be helpful.

My goal: transmit an SSID (network name) so that itís picked up strongly in my nasty neighborís home about 150 feet away. Why? You can say a lot in 32 characters, and I have a message Iíd like this jerk to see as high as possible in his available wireless networks list.

This network wonít do anything else. It wonít be connected to the Internet nor to any other device. Iíve tried placing a couple of routers (which I preassigned SSIDs and channel #s) in the upper window of my house facing his. This works, but of course the signal doesnít go very far outside. Next Iím going to try replacing the routersí standard antennas with stronger ones.

How might I achieve my goal with minimum expense? What are my best indoor & outdoor options? From what Iíve read, it sounds like an outdoor access point mounted high on the outside of my house might be the way to go. But can I pre-program the AP with the SSID like I did the routers? I donít want to have to run Ethernet to it once itís mounted; just power (which I can run from an outdoor outlet).

Any advice (including specific product recommendations) would be appreciated!

Hello all,
I recently got a new gfx card cheap - an asus n6600le. Maybe unsurprisingly, according to the monitoring software that came with the new card, either my motherboard or PSU can't supply a steady 1.5v to it. I want to buy a new motherboard that supports AGP 8x, so any advice on a decent one for less than £80, would be more than welcome. I realise this may still not solve the voltage issue, and so any advice on a suitable (and cheap) PSU might also come in handy! Cheers.

Current spec....

Intel P4 2.4GHz,
1.5 meg PC2700 memory,
asus P4S533-X motherboard, (Socket 478)
asus N6600LE,
old SB Audigy soundcard that loves conflicting with other devices,
The PSU is an Eagle, model number DR-B350ATX (atx350w switching psu)
I'm still using ribbon cables to connect my drives.
Running windows xp pro

I'm quite proud that I got all that info, but I bet I missed something stupidly obvious!

The most difficult question that I have to answer is the one that I get asked every day by users of W7 and W8.1.... and that is "Should I upgrade to W10?".

I really don't know how to answer this question, especially for W8.1 users. For W7 users I normally recommend that they upgrade as mainstream support has already ended and extended support will end in just over 3 years from now. But for W8.1 users the answer is a lot more difficult. If they purchased their computer withW8.1 preinstalled then their computer will be between 8 and 10 years old by the time extended support for W8.1 ends. For many users they will be ready to buy a new machine before 2024.

But..... W10 is (according to Microsoft) the long-term future of Windows computing. Therefore is it really wise to remain with an OS that is on a dead-end street? Should users not be encouraged to upgrade to W10, and start learning how to manage this OS...?

To paraphrase from the words of the Bard in Hamlet.....

"......To upgrade, or not to upgrade: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing them end them?......"

Hello to all,
I currently use a program called Mozbackup. This backs up all relevant date from Firefox and Thunderbird. I use it to restore and everything comes back right where it is supposed to be.
My request for opinion or advice is: Does Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit have a similar function. I seem to be getting certain errors with backup in Event Viewer.
Thanks and welcome to all who wish to reply!

A:Request Opinion/Advice

Windows 7 has a backup program in it that can handle entire system images. If you want something that does an online backup of a small amount of data, Mozbackup will work, but there are alternatives.

It really all depends on what you want, and where you want to store your backups. That's what you should post so we can go further. As an example, before I got a Window Home Server box, I used to use SyncToy on my wife's computer to send her important files, game saves, pictures, etc to the server. My backups weren't off-site, however.

Hi,

I don't have personal experience with any of the W series but IIRC the W540 had the famous "ClackPad".  The one without TrackPoint buttons.

If that's important to you maybe the W530 is a better choice.  Or a W541 perhaps.

Hello

I'd like to request some advice please about a possible infection on my PC. The symptoms are as follows, which started a few days ago.
1. Although my default browser is Google Chrome, 2 instances of iexplore.exe start in the background. If I kill them a few minutes later they restart. Occasionally an Internet Explorer window becomes visible showing a random web site.
2. When I do a Google search and click on one of the results, I am redirected instead to a random web site. Clicking Back and then again on the search result link takes me to the correct result.

I run Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security on my PC. On Thursday it found and removed 2 instances of virus TROJ_SPNR.04EJ11, and stopped an unauthorized system change by DUVAL.EXE, but the problem is currently still there. I also tried running Malwarebytes Anti Malware and found & removed a couple of registry items infected by 'Adware.Mywebsearch', but this also hasn't solved the issue.

The PC runs Windows XP SP3.

Thanks for any help

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask for pre-purchase comparison help, but here goes:   I'm looking to buy an inexpensive desktop PC for my wife to just use for web surfing and storing her photos.  (She has a more powerful laptop for her work and an iPad for travel and casual use.)  I'm looking at the HP Slimline 260-a10 and 260-a20 and comparing the two. The a10 has an Intel Pentium J3710 processor with a CPU speed of 1.6 GHz; comes with 4 GB ram; integrated Intel HD graphics and a 1 TB hard drive.  Ships with Windows 10 Home (64-bit) according to the box label and HP website. The a20 has an AMD Carrizo-L A6-7310 processor with a CPU speed of 2.0 GHz; comes with 6 GB ram; integrated AMD Radeon R4 graphics and the same 1 TB hard drive.  Ships with Windows 10 Home (64-bit) according to th HP website, but NOT according to the box label. Bottom line, assuming all else is identical--which it probably is regardless of labeling--which is most likely the better performing and dependable PC--the AMD/6 GB RAM a20; or the Intel/4 GB RAM a10. Finally, they are both the same price, but at two different stores.  I'd appreciate any help/welcome your opinions.

  > The a10 has an Intel Pentium J3710 processor with a CPU speed of 1.6 GHz;> The a20 has an AMD Carrizo-L A6-7310 processor with a CPU speed of 2.0 GHz; Both processors are "quad-core" (4 cores, 4 threads). So, all else being equal, except for more RAM in the 'a20', I would choose the faster computer -- the 'a20'.

Hello,

I want to upgrade the memory in my HP Pavilion a1520n computer. I have two 512 mb cards in two slots with a maximum of four slots and about 4GB of memory. I was thinking of getting two more Crucial 1 GB cards so I would be adding 2 GB of memory to the system, for a total of about 3 GB. I know that they say to not mix memory and use the memory cards in pairs. Can I keep the two 512 MB Hyundai cards I have now and use them with the two new Crucial cards, or do they recommend to not mix brands at all ? Can you guys recommend a brand of memory and a place where I can buy it at a good price ? Perhaps crucial is the best best overall, I think I have used them before along with Kingston. Best-Buy sells a 2 GB kit packaged by "PNY" but I don't know much about them.

Here is my current memory specs as found by the freeware program "system information for windows" by Topala Software Solutions. I have also listed the memory recommended by Crucial via their system scan software, and the best buy cards.

I would appreciate any advice.

Hi all.

I'm currently running an ad-hoc network at home, which is growing as more family members acquire computers in their bedrooms, etc. I'm wondering if now might be the time to look at consolidating some of the activities into dedicated servers.

Email and calendaring, I think, would be best 'served' from a central location - possibly using exchange or similar (are there any cheaper / free alternatives?). It would be great to have each family members' diaries accessible from any of the terminals in the home.

Also music could be stored centrally - currently all of us have mixed up music collections on each of our local drives, only accessible to others using file-sharing.

It'd be great to automate 'my documents' backups for all the machines, too, as well as periodic 'system' backups (OS and software).

I'd also like to be able to centrally control internet access, particularly for the kids for obvious reasons. Perhaps a proxy server to ban unsuitable sites, and to handle AntiVirus, etc?

Now, I have a Dell PowerEdge 600 (P4 2.x ghz, 512mbram), not really being used for much, which I could use as a general server. Would this be an appropriate box to use for the above tasks? (email, calendar, proxy, backup). I can hook-up some USB drives to it - I have a LaCie 500, and a Maxtor 400.

Proxy is a great idea. This setup would allow tight control of the usage and virus protection;

Code:
isp--modem---Control.Server---router--other systems
The Control.Server can filter all traffic and access, but AV still is needed everywhere.

If you just want a free fileserver, look into a Linux system as the Control.Server
and be sure it has Samba or can have it installed.

NOTE: this is a long story but hang in there, I tried to make it a little entertaining too. And I could use some advice on the puzzling thing that happened to PC#4 as I thought I had seen it all and that one is new to me.

I am telling it as a story because I am stumped and I dont know what is relevant anymore.

---

The story starts quite innocently...

We're a 2 person household here, spread between 2 houses which are quite far away. Which means that shuffling PCs and screens around got old real quick.

So the solution was to buy enough bits to do a new computer, so we would have 4, 2 in each location.

While I was at it I bought new cases for all of them, cause the old cases all had started having broken doors or usb ports and all. Besides the Antec Solo is a great case with nice soundproofing at a great price and once one of the PCs had it all the others had to have it too.

Sounds harmless so far, right? PC1 and 2 are alive and singing.

-- sounds of birds singing and all --

Of course it got worse when we did the others, which were for the most part just moving the old stuff to a new case

-- ominous music --

A:rant and advice request on 2 pcs dying in a week

(updated)

PC3 was my old main PC, now my secondary machine back at home.
I changed *nothing* on that PC, all we did was move components to the new case.

PC3, the specs

- antec true power 380W PSU
- abit nf7 v2.0
- athlon xp 3200
- 1.5 gb of nondescript ddr ram
- sapphire 9800 Pro (the silent version, cant remember what they call it)
- big massive hedgehog style heatsink with silenx fan
- 2 120Gb Seagate IDE drive, the most silent model they made in IDE
- the usual set of silent fans, quiet DVD drive, rubber grommets, vibration dampeners

The story

All of these had been stable for ever in my old case

So anyway we move all of this to the new case, plug it all in, turn power on. PSU blows

We grab another PSU off ebay, wait 2 days, plug new PSU in.

PSU doesnt blow (that's progress) but nothing appears on screen.

Weird smell - wire on the case-sound-connectors is smoking

Panic, pull power cable off

Unplug sound connector cable, try again.

Nothing fries, but nothing starts either. No HD activity beyond power up. I think Mobo wont post

In Summary (updated)

Some of mobo / ram / cpu must be considered dead
Will power up, all fans except northbridge fan power up, light on mobo light up
I think it doesn't post - I dont even have a pc speaker to be sure, trying to get my hands on one
ram seems fine in other pc

Good day,
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series laptop. The screen is not working and I was hoping someone can give me some advice.
The laptop screen does not show anything when booting up (including BIOS)
LCD back light is working
I ran the LCD BIST test and the LCD screen shows the different colours
I connected an external screen and it is working
I ran the BIOS diagnostic test and everything is ok
I also opened the laptop and removed the battery to reset the BIOS
Can this be a result of a faulty mainboard/graphics card? Also does the BIST test indicate that the LCD screen or cable is working 100%
Any advice will be appreciated

Can anyone offer advice on how to get my External DVD-ROM to play on my laptop?!?

Here's the situation:
Ancient laptop = Toshiba Satellite 2545 XCDT
Video Driver = S3 ViRGE/MX+ (260), Chip ID = 8C01
Graphics Adapter chip type = 86C260, 2 MB Video memory
External DVD = Toshiba DVD-ROM, connected by PCMCIA

The result:
A green screen (no definition) and skipping audio.

I've messed with re-installing and updating the Video Driver (50311w9x.zip). I've messed with the screen area and color, and at an area of 1600 by 1200 pixels and 256 colors, I can make out the skewed-color outlines of figures from a movie. The video is skipping, and obviously the audio is still skipping. At any other combination of screen area and color (16 bit/24 bit), all I get is a fully green screen.

I've reached my (limited) abilities to solve this problem, and I'd appreciate any help or advice anyone can offer.

Thanks,

Sorry, I forgot one relatively important fact:
I'm working out of Windows 98.

I initially had XP on the laptop, but reverted to 98. Same problems occurred with XP...

Hi all,

I know people have posted about this before, but each case seems to be unique so i want to post this separately, I hope someone can help!

I have been suffering the black screen of death, i.e. the PC boots up, gets to the Microsoft loading bar, and then instead of entering the desktop I am presented with a black screen and a low-res white mouse cursor, which I can move around but nothing else. If I press shift 5 times the little window pops up asking about it, but that's all I can do.

The two things that happened previous to this problem were a) a Windows update, and b) an instance when I plugged in a USB joystick and the screen went a bit glitchy. Upon restarting the computer, i had the aforementioned black screen.

SO FAR:

I initially thought it was the graphics card, so I replaced it - no change.

I entered BIOS and set it to fail-safe default - no effect, problem still remains.

I booted from my Vista disk and ran Windows repair. It said nothing was wrong, but that I should check no USB ports are being used. Of course no USB ports are being used! but other than that, Windows repair is no use!

Fan is operating normally

NOW:

The issue doesn't appear to be with hardware. Someone recommended disabling the NIC but I couldn't find it in BIOS (i have abit BIOS).

My only option as I see it is the last recourse: wipe the computer and reinstall. Can anyone recommend other action before I resort to this?

Thanks in advance

This review in regards to the next Generation T series from Lenovo.

The machine I tested is based on a Intel i7-8565U 8th Generation Whiskey Lake 1.8GHz quad-core CPU.  It came with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a bright 14? QHD(2560 x 1440) with Dolby Vision 500 nit IPS screen.  The screen I got according to HWiNFO64 is Model LEN40AE with a Monitor name of B14QAN02.0. It looks to my naked eye as the same as my X1 Yoga 3 screen with Dolby Vision.  It?s a very nice screen. This screen does not support touch.  The side bezels have shrunk(see pictures below).

As for graphics.  It came with a Intel UHD Graphics 620 and Nvidia GeForce MX250 with 2GB GDDR5 memory.

For connectivity it came with 2 USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, 1 USB Type-C, 1 HDMI 1.4, 1 Thunderbolt 3, a MicroSD Card reader and 1 Audio Jack.  An interesting feature on this laptop that I personally have not seen before is the left side USB C port can charge other USB C devices.  It can output 5V at 1.5A. I personally have not been able to try this. The Thunderbolt 3 USB C port can also output 5V at 1.5A PLUS it can charge another laptop using P to P 2.0 charging function.  I was not able to test this feature either.

For Networking the T490 came with a Intel AC 9560 and mine came with a Fibocom L850-GL and Bluetooth 5.0.  It also included a Full size ethernet port.

For Docking it supports Thunderbolt 3 Dock, Side Mechanical Dock and USB 3.0 Doc... Read more

When installing our new T490 and T590 through SCCM - and using the lenovo sccm driver pack, the touchpad is not responsive to gestures only button clicks - The Trackpoint works fine... Installing Lenovo drivers for mouse and touchpad after the installation does not help.If I look at the driver in Device Manager, everything seems fine - There is a Synaptics Pointing Device present - but also some Microsoft HID Compatible touchpad drivers. If I remove the HID Compatible touchpad drivers - the touchpad starts working - but after a few restarts they are installed again and the touchpad is dead again.Trying to manually install the Synaptics drivers for the HID Compatible touchpad - does not help.Installing on Windows 10 1809

I just got a T590 and started using it last week. I have two pairs of speakers, one (Harman Kardon) a little nicer than the other (Alans). When I first started using the laptop, I could play music using the Harman Kardon speakers just fine. A couple days in, I played music from the Alans speakers. After that, I tried to play music again from the HKs, but it won't work. It's almost like the laptop thinks the HK speakers are a microphone. When I connected them, a little microphone icon appeared on the screen. Under the sound settings in the control panel, it showed both external speakers and an external microphone, and when I tried to play music, it would show that the volume of the external microphone was very high, and the volume of the external speakers on but very low. The sound coming though the speakers was soft, garbled, and mixed with a lot of noise. I got the same results with a pair of headphones. The Alans speakers still work. In the Device Manager, my sound controller is "Realtek High Definition Audio(SST)". I have tried both disabling and re-enabling it, and uninstalling it and letting the computer reinstall, and downloading the driver from Lenovo and manually reinstalling. This did not fix the problem. It is the latest version (6.0.1.8673). I saw in this post something about using a driver called "High Definition Audio Device" (the generic one from Windows?), but I didn't see that as an option when I tried to update the driver using available driver... Hello everybody.!I would appreciate any help.Started getting BSOD(Attempted_Switch_From_DPC) almost every other day and I've paid attention that this usually happens when laptop is idle.My laptop is a month and a half old and it shipped with 8GB DDR4 ram soldered in MB(  base ram speed is 2666mhz but the real working speed that shown in Task Manager is 2400 because of CPU).So I decided put extra RAM and it turned out that my laptop supports up 48GB RAM so I bought 32GB DDR4 2666 module from Samsung and got 40GB in total. I'm not sure maybe it's coincidence but I started getting these BSODs after these things: installing RAM, updating BIOS, updating Windows system (Cumulative update), using USB type-C adapter with 3-USB and 1-LAN output.  I don't know who the culprit is.Here is the link to the DUMP file, data from Msinfo and Speccy -  https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjF0Y2tXlq21hAVSSnCL8_95zho4?e=rt8xuIMy laptop is Lenovo ThinkPad T590Records from Event Viewer:Log Name:      SystemSource:        Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PowerDate:          11-Sep-19 11:43:42Event ID:      41Task Category: (63)Level:         CriticalKeywords:      (70368744177664),(2)User:          SYSTEMComputer:      LAPTOP-1NK0CFUHDescription:Th... We got a new Lenovo T590 and when i went to Image it, it went through the normal process and everything was fine until it boots into windows 10 for the first time. It disconnects from ethernet even though its plugged in, and the trackpad doesnt work. It seems as though the driver for Ethernet adapter is being uninstalled when it first boots into windows because its missing completely from the network connections screen in the control panel. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks

Hi, I am considering to buy the 4K version of one of these laptops. I have used the X1E but I am bothered by the fan noise even under BIOS 1.19. Do these laptops have noisy fan issues? Are they fully compatible with Linux right out of the box? I mean do all functions work right after installation of Linux without further work from the user? How is the battery life? Thanks.

My needs can be satisfied with T590/P53s and they have num keypad. P1/X1 Extreme on the other hand have powerful CPU (45W, 6 cores) and powerful GPU (good for 3D rendering, GIS explorations). Gaming is not a big consideration. Rational for GPU is really from a GIS perspective (in case there is some 3D modeling). T590/P53s - adequate, does not get hot, relatively quiet. Soldered RAM -- if a problem then that is not easily rectified. Is this ever an issue? I mean, RAM going bad (I have had this once only in business laptops). If soldered RAM goes bad, can the add-on still work? Or have to replace MoBo. P1/X1 Extreme -- more future proof, Carbon bodies, two DIMM slots. Powerful GPU - great for gaming and 4K displays. No soldered RAM issue. But seems that we are still discovering issues with cooling, fan noise, and battery life is limiting (hard to get advertised battery life without much tweaking).  Price diff b/w two, on sale, is about $250. Very tempting to go with P1/Xtreme but battery life/cooling issues are becoming a drag.  Appreciate any guidance.

I need:

A Monitor
Was thinking of a IIYAMA E2773HDS but is there any other decent monitors people would recommend? Need to be at least 20+", lower response time the better.

A Mouse
Was thinking of the Logitech G500 have heard very good things about this mouse.. a friend of mine has one and have tried it out, has a great feel to it. Suggestions?

Finally, A Keyboard
Was thinking of a Logitech G110 but its fairly pricey and have heard mixed reviews, would like opinions of this, as well as any other suggestions for a decent keyboard.

Very open to all suggestions and thanks to everyone in advance!

wouldn't it be a warez?

Hello yterbium,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

If the rules are the same there as here, then the license should be good for either x86 or x64 of the same edition. Could ask Sony though to be sure.

Hope this helps.
