Bluetooth audio on Lenovo T440P laptop is very quiet and accompanied by high frequency noise

Q: Bluetooth audio on Lenovo T440P laptop is very quiet and accompanied by high frequency noise

I can get the headset to pair and start services for listening to music and I can hear through it but the sound is quiet and when the computer sends a sound to the headset (e.g. music is playing, or when "testing" the audio to have it ding), the sound is accompanied by a high frequncy noise. When no sound is transmitting there is no noise. I've tried two bluetooth headphones, most recently Sony 1000xm2 but the problem persists. The headphones work for paired with phone and my desktop computer at home but not with Lenovo T440P. I've updated Bluetooth drivers from Lenovo and that hasn't solved the problem. In device manager for bluetooth radios drivers listed are Intel Wireless Bluetooth driver version 18.1.1511.552 (10/9/2015) and Microsoft Bluetooth enumerator version 6.1.7601.23403 (6/21/2006). The audio sink driver under the headphone properties is Intel version 19.0.1604.618 (3/29/2016). I've tried disabling all the services under the device options except for audio sink but that doesn't help. I've tried using both the headphones or headset as the playback device, and headset is worse and has the same problem, so it's not that I'm using the wrong playback device. Thanks for any and all help

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

hi i just bought a T410S and used a couple days. everything is ok except that there is very annoying high frequency noise (sounds like zzzzzzz).i did a little research and it turned out this noise is coming from CPU while it alternates frequency.when i change Maximum cpu speed to highest or adaptive in power manager, this noise comes out, when it set to low or lowest where no changes of cpu speed (cpu runs at lowest speed), the noise is completely gone. it's not noticeable unless im in a very quiet surroundings such as library or night at home. it drives me crazy for once. does anyone else have this issue? im wondering if i need to send this one back for replacement.  if everyone has this issue, then it's a issue with specific CPU btw I have following configuration i5 560M 2.66GSSDBIOS: 1.34 (yes it's 1.34, official website only has 1.33..........im not sure why i have 1.34)Built in video card

noticed another thread regarding noise, but it's for different model and cpu.not sure this is common issue for all i5 core CPU...........

Hey. I have the Logitech LS21 speakers. I know they are cheap speakers. When I first set them up, I was actually very impressed with the volume and quality of the sound and bass. It was enough to fill my modest sized room with loud clear sound and rich base when listening to music. I had them connected to the audio jack on my ASUS M5A78L LE using the Realtek audio described in the title.

At some point I chose to reinstall Windows. I installed and updated all the drivers, etc and set the speakers up the same way as before. Only this time the audio was around 20% of the volume it was previously with volume up full. In games it's barely audible at all unless I put my ear to one of the speakers.

I first tried using different Realtek drivers including the ones shipped with the motherboard, the latest on the ASUS web site as well as the latest from Realtek's site. All of these drivers yield the same results. I also tried tweaking many settings in Windows and with Realtek's audio manager. Nothing seems to raise the volume.

So I decided to test the speakers out without the Realtek audio. Plugging the jack directly into my monitor and using an AMD HDMI Driver. Surprisingly, the speakers were now much, much louder. However, without the use of the sound card, the audio became quite distorted when the volume or base was raised. And in general, just wasn't as good quality.

I'd like to get back the loud clear sound and deep base I had originally, but I do not know what else to try.

What do you show in the Device Manager, for sound devices? You should only have two, the AMD HDMI and the RealTek. If you have the generic Windows installed HD Audio Codec, uninstall that, then restart the PC and see if that changes anything.

Hello guys! I'm new here. I recently bought a laptop (model in the subject) and I noticed that over the keyboard was warm... After I check underneath the laptop, I noticed that was too hot! In low~medium use of the system, the average of the temperature is 56C! Is it normal? The cooler doens't spin but everytime that the system is booting up, I can hear the sound of the cooler spinning (like if was cheking if it's ok). This is odd. The other situation that the cooler spin is when I do some tests with Lenovo tool (stress test, to be precise). Should I contact the suport to check personaly what is happening with my laptop or is it normal? Awaiting for an instruction! Thanks in advance!! Alex

I just recived a repacement laptop from Lenovo a few weeks ago. I now have a Ideapad 700-15ISK. I love everything about it, well, exept for a high pitched noise that continues to come out of the laptop whenever it is on. I've made a video with the audio levels boosted for those who would like to hear below. If that doesn't work, here's the YouTube Video. I dont think its tied to the fan, but I can't really tell for sure. It is most noticably coming from the very right side of the computer (looking at it with the screen open, front view). I'd really hate to return this computer, as I've had my fair share of frustration with Lenovo.Any help would be apreciated.Thanks.

My Lenovo YOGA 510-14AST (purchased a few weeks ago in August 2018, runs on Win 10) gives out very loud fan noise for 5-10 secs once initiating the smallest task (e.g. opening a pdf. or a new tab in Chrome). This problem happens more often when the laptop is charged. Probably caused by high CPU usage, which during standard browsing, sometimes rockets up to 85%. Strangely, when in task manager I add up the running programmes, it does not give me the indicated 85%, but usually around 40%. I tried various "small fixes" from the forum/internet, like lowering max processor state, getting rid of background apps. and installing all the (I think) Win 10 updates. None of it seems to help. Also, the battery lasts ( standard usage - browsing and win office) shorter than advertised. So, I am wondering if these are common problems of this seria or a hardware/ other problems, and if there are any solutions on how to solve the fan noise.  I am not so much of a tech-savvy, and had a budged for a cheap laptop only, so would be grateful for any help or advice.

I just bought a notebook Lenovo G450 and I had drivers not found problem. My OS is Windows XP SP2. In Device Manager, there are four "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" device with exclamation mark. Below is the link to the screenshot of my device manager (pardon me, you have copy-paste the link manually since my post count is still below 5 so I cannot post link/image here):

There is no sound problem since I had successfully installed the sound driver from lenovo (The name is "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221" as you can see on the screenshot above) and the sound is working without problem. I also had installed Microsoft UAA Bus Driver before installing the sound driver.

I had tried installing realtek and nvidia high definition audio driver and all required drivers from lenovo (http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=370748), but still no avail. The four yellow exclamation marks is still exist.

So I need help to identify what actually are the devices that shown as "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus"? And where can I get the driver for that devices?

On my lenovo T61 I just installed windows xp and there are quite a few drivers missing that i am looking for. I found what I thought was the solution to the audio problem here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...cid=MIGR-67816
but it didn't seem to work. Since I don't have internet on the computer i just switched to xp, I downloaded what was on that website onto a usb drive and then installed it on the computer I'm trying to fix. It still says that I am missing the "audio device on high definition audio bus". Shouldn't the file at the above link take care of the problem? Anyone know where I could find the driver I need?

A:audio device on high definition audio bus missing for xp pro on lenovo t61 pc

bad thing about IBM's website is they sometimes post more than one driver. Look through the list to see if there are anymore audio drivers for Xp listed.

I could look, but IBM's site needs the unit type in order to look for drivers/manuals. 4 diget number on the white sticker on bottom of the laptop. for example

- ThinkPad R61(type):
- 7732, 7733, 7735, 7736, 7737, 7738, 7742
- 7743, 7751, 7753, 7754, 7755
- 8914, 8918, 8919, 8920, 8927, 8928, 8929
- 8942, 8943, 8944, 8945, 8947, 8948, 8949

those are laptop types that IBM uses, am sure you noticed that on the page you linked :)

I received my Inspiron 15 7000 (7559) gaming edition yesterday. Brand new from Dell.ca, with 4k touch screen and dual HDD & SSD.

There is a faint, but noticeable and annoying high-pitch buzzing sound coming from near the center of the keyboard. This happens as soon as I use any audio after I boot.
When I mute my speakers, the high-pitch stops and is replaced by a much less noticeable low-pitch buzz.
The high-pitch buzzing volume is the same, regardless if my volume is at 2 or 100.
Headphones plugged in, there is no buzzing from the earbuds, but still a low-pitch buzz from the laptop.
It sounds like as if the speakers were turned up all the way so there's high- or low- pitched static.
Edit: I'm unsure if it still buzzes when video/music is playing.

I am considering re-installing the audio driver, and I will also call support in the coming days.
I appreciate all suggestions and input!

My speaker and my audio generate very loud high pitched noise after waking from sleep.I had to mute my audio if this happens, but the speaker is essentially unusable in this situation. If I plug in my headphone through audio jack, the high pitched noise will come from both headphone (and unmutable) and my speaker (if I turn on the volume). I hope this is fixable through driver update.

Hello all, hope you all are well.

I am having an issue with a laptop of mine. Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop. The LCD outter cover looks a little cracked but not badly. The noise seems to be coming from the middle of the LCD towards the bottom. I took the laptop apart hoping it could have been a connector or a fan. I even took the RAM out and switched modules. The problem still persists to this moment.

I was hoping someone could give me good insight on what it could be?

I was thinking it may be the LCD monitor itself, but then I read online and some people say AC adapter or motherboard. Well the noise sounds like it's coming from the monitor only, so I don't really know.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Hey guys, well I've been having an annoying problem with my laptop fan. It produces a high pitched noise that is just loud enough to annoy me :/ My room is quiet, so you can very easily hear it. I'm not sure how long it's been going on for, but I've noticed it the last few months. To me it sounds like the fan is starting to wear out, from a fan bearing maybe. I've tried cleaning it by disassembling the laptop, but the noise hasn't changed. Do I need to replace the fan?

Thanks in advance

A:Laptop fan makes high pitch noise, fan wearing out?

Hmm gin mate what are the temps doing?? sounds like the thing is working overtime to me.

Try this and post back Speccy - Download < download from piriform.

One thing you can try if the temps are up is to shine a very bright light into the fan aperture and then look into the outlet vent if you cannot see much light then the cooling rad is blocked.
The pic is of a Toshiba but the principle is the same.

Hello, there.  Recently, I found a very loud noise from the fan of my T440P.  I don't know what happened. Before, it sounds a little bit noisy but acceptable. Now, it sounds like a terrible vibration from the fan. I ordered my T440P from the online shop. I was over at a friends tonight and she has an hp I5 laptop...not sure of the model# and it is getting a high pitch noise that can be heard from as far as about 6 feet away. This is a consistant and steady noise. This just started today. It is running hotter than normal from what she said. The laptop is about 2 yrs old.

I checked one of the fans and I felt some air coming out, and I could hear the fan running, but I had a hard time identifying where the noise is coming from...

What components would most likely be the cause. Certainly the fan, I would think, but what else could it be? I won't risk opening up the case, but is there any additional troubleshooting I should try?

Hello everyone,

My old Dell Laptop (Inspiron 1520) is having problem with the LCD screen. Some part of screen is dark.
The left 1/3 is fine, but the 2/3 part on the right is not illuminated properly.
I'm guessing it's time to change the panel?

It's also making a high pitch sound two days before the screen problem. I wonder why.

The CPU fan has been dead for a year I think. I just use a fan base to remedy this.

What do you think? Replace the LCD panel or you think it's time for a new laptop?
I'm really not ready to spend $1K.

I have a Toshiba Sat Pro U300 and the system itself seems to be working perfectly well. About 3months ago, my laptop began to make a noise, an unbearable constant high pitched noise. The only time that the noise stops is when the laptop is off and for a very brief period when windows starts up. The noise seems to come from the left speaker, but it continues whether I mute the speakers or not. As I always use a speaker connected via a jack cable for audio output, the fact that the speakers didn't work didn't really bother me, but I HAD to stop that sound or I would have thrown the laptop out of the window.
I looked on plenty of forums which all suggested disconnecting the speakers from the motherboard, but I din't really want to have to open up my laptop if I could help it. Since then, I managed to disable the speakers using the 'Hardware' tab of the 'Sounds and Audio devices properties' menu of the control panel.
It was such a relief to find that there was no longer a loud, high-pitched noise. However, it seems to have disabled all sounds, including audio output through a jack connection.
I need to have sound on my laptop but when I turn the speakers back on, the beeping begins again. I am pretty good at finding causes of problems on my own computer and finding solutions and believe me I've tried. It seems that there isn't much information out there about this problem.

If someone could please help me with this, I would great... Read more

This just started happening yesterday and it's aggravating as all hell. Randomly, my laptop starts making a high pitched noise. I first thought it was the external speakers but finally figured out that it has to do with the ethernet cable being plugged in

I know that's the cause because when I check the back of the laptop, the high pitched noise is perfectly synched with the activity light

Has anyone heard of this happening? This has got to be the most aggravating computer problem I've ever run into.

I am new to this forum. I have searched for related problems here but did not find anything relevant, my apologies if this is a duplicate. What follows is a copy of a message sent to VIA (in Taiwan apparently):

I seem to be having some issues with your VIA High Definition Audo drivers in an Asus K60IJ-series laptop (purchased in 2010). The driver version is dated 09/07/2009. It works fine on its own but when I try to add an external audio device to the system, I run into problems:

- I was not able to make a Toshiba Bluetooth Stack (driving a Kensington K33902 dongle) produce any audio: Windows will not let me set the bluetooth-connected external audio device (Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter, provides no Win7 drivers) as a default device while you drivers are installed. If I remove your drivers and allow Windows to install its default drivers instead, I can now choose the Bluetooth device as default but still get no audio out of it, nor out of your VIA audio chipset either (it seems the generic Windows drivers are not compatible with your chipset).

- Am having similar problems with a Creative Digital HS-1200 bluetooth headset: the headset is automatically set as default when the Bluetooth interface is plugged into USB port, but the default can't be changed, and Windows Media Player complains that there are no audio drivers for it (it appears OK under Device Manager)... YouTube continues to play through the VIA despite. The headset works fine on a... Read more

Hello sybernut mate this is the site where you need to go to get drivers the Windows feature is not something I am a fan of and find it is far better to get the drivers straight form the machine's manufacturers site or the device in side the machine site.
http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=K60IJ&os=17 - in the manual section it tells you how to set up Blu tooth stuff. The drivers are all there - I am linking to the Asus K60IJ notebook form your specs.

Now if you want in depth details of the components see this
Using HW Info
You can test the volts on the PSU with HW Info HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download < download the right bit version and close the right hand window select Sensors and scroll down to the power section where you will see what the volts are doing see my pic.
The original right hand window shows the machine running and is handy for that but for looking at the components in some detail close it and use the main left hand side panel
Open each small square with + in it on the section the components are in and then click on the individual component/s (it will highlight in blue) - in the right hand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds and other essential info that particular device. See pic for example.
Use Part B: (see pic for an example - I have shown you my RAM you need to click on one of the +'s until you find the Blu tooth info probably Network)

Hi, I have a problem with the sound. Whenever I try to use bluetooth speaker, the sound starts being chunky, crashing with too many delays. I have tried two different speakers. After some research through the net and many attempts for fixes, (I think) I found what is the problem. However, I still can not understand excactly how to solve it. Thus, I need some help. I think a picture of the DPC latency will explain everything. Thank you very much for your time!

Trying to pair a bluetooth headset and having all sorts of trouble. I have installed the Intel package, but still have issues. At one point I did have the audio working, but now I can't even get that to work. I was never able to get the mic up and running. In Device Manger, there are 2 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device" items. Windows update does nothing for them. At one point they were listed as Bluetooth Remote and some other Bluetooth device, but neither device could start. (error 10) I have 2 Bluetooth radios listed. (Intel and the MS Enumerator)  I am able to pair the headset, but it just doesn't work after that. Spent almost all day trying to get this to work, ready to pull my hair out. Hopefully someone here can help me. When I do a 'connect' in Bluetooth Device Control, I get 'Error connecting to headset. Please retry this operation'. And FWIW, I have a T430 here that I connected to with no issue. - Jon

Hi Deshazzz,
Welcome to the Forums
As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with fan noise from your Lenovo Z50-70 laptop.
Try to remove the dust through the energy management, go to energy management select maintainence guide and select dust removal option and check for the issue.
Try to update the graphic driver and check for the issue, if the system was shipped with the graphic  card? Is the system overheating while using any application?
Click here for the graphic driver for windows 7(32 bit).
Click here for the graphic driver for windows 7 (64 bit).

Hi, I have an HP desktop H8-1214 and just got a new bluetooth microphone and earpiece called BH-M10B I have onboard sound all other sound and devices work properly but when i connect with this device the sound is very soft and people can hardly hear me is there a way i can boost my mic i don't have a mic boost option? Volume is at 100% and I have maxed everything I could, I can hear perfectly in it it's only the microphone which is giving me problems, I talked to the manufacturer they're sending me a 2nd one as it's not a very high end piece, but I'm worried it will do the exact same thing.

A:New bluetooth microphone is very quiet.

Also my audio device is IDT and it runs on the Beats by Dre application. The application allows some devices to use boost options but those options are always shaded and I cannot take control of them.

Hello I have installed the 4910mq cpu for my t440p and it works and boots up but the temperature of the cpu itself is rather high and is idling on 55-60c and watching hd youtube videos raises it to about 70c, with gaming and intensive tasks raising it to 91-92c. This has caused the laptop to power off a couple of times from overheating. Is there a was to get the temperature down to normal/cooler levels? I am running Ubuntu 18.04.3 x64. Thanks.

I just wanted to make this post as a burial for my laptop as if today marks the day I gave up on trying to revive it.My father bought it for his work and used it since until 5 months ago when he gave it to me to use for my studying. Everything was going smoothly and I enjoyed using it for everything but one day I noticed that there was some drivers updates that needed to be done that?s why I decided to open Lenovo update and check for what I was missing. Most updates worked fine and there was no complaints or issues with it. But, in the end, there was one more, a BIOS update. I was sceptical about it as I thought how safe can a bios update be, it?s what makes everything work. But I decided to trust it since it was from the Lenovo website, how can it be harmful? ?.. I downloaded it, installed it and then it told me to restart so I accepted. The laptop shutdown? the power button lit up again?. But that was it .I waited and waited in fear because not even the Lenovo logo showed up. Since then, it never worked. Every time I turn it off and on it?s just the button lit and the fan working from time to time, that was about a week ago. I looked up everything and found something about ?flashing? it so I tried every possible variation of that method but nothing worked, even resetting it but taking off the small battery and leaving it for a whole night to discharge. Yesterday I decided to take it to a Lenovo building in my city and there all hope was lost. They were goin... Read more

About a month ago i went on lenovo vantage and found the cool and quiet/intelligent cooling options successfully. Now when I went to lenovo vantage to find those options, they had disappeared and I can't access or find them at all. I already uninstalled and then installed lenovo vantage to see if it would help, but it still doesn't come up.

Hello, I've recently bought a brand new HP laptop, it's been with me for like 3 weeks now so it's still on warranty, and I've noticed that there is a rattling noise coming from inside, below the numpad area. It's not very loud, however at night when it's quiet, it becomes a bit annoying. I don't know if that's normal or not so that's why I'm asking ( Please state whether the noise is normal or not) . I've recorded it through my phone ( PS: The sound is exaggerated because I placed the microphone directly on the area where the sound is coming from. ) Link: http://vocaroo.com/i/s0PmHgidKuMvThanks in advance!

Yea, im a bit mad. I've updated bios to 1.27, updated every updated on vantage. Changes to low power on bios. Undervolted cpu/cahce -115.2 and gpu/agent -75.2... and guess what, the FAN keeps coming on and off on idle on battery. And disgustingly louder on AC. Idle temps are at 51. Undervolting did nothing to the base temp or fan noise. I'm seriously considering return this. I just wanted a strong laptop without any of this ridiculous problem... I mean, I even downloadd the shell.exe that lenovo release to address this issue... I really can't understand how the hell thinkpad lines still have these issues in 2018.... yea, im sure you can fix it with a hundred changes but i'm not a computer expert guy.... What should I do? I spend the whole day trying to fix this problem and burnt out.... The only thing holding me back from just doing a RMA on the first day is the keyboard and HDR screen.... ughhhh.

A:x1 carbon FAN NOISE ..... lenovo srs? You can't make a decent laptop?

Just requested an RMA... lesson learned. Don't believe in youtube reviews.

I have some mp3/wav sounds and i want to convert them in high frequency.
So i need a high frequency software.
Any idea?

A:high frequency

Are you trying to convert from 44,100Hz to 96,000Hz ?

Why are you trying to convert anyway? You're final result will only be as good as the native file (like converting an mp3 to Wav)

It's wierd... when I start up Granado Espada, 3-D MMORPG and move my camera angle something in my computer squeaks just as I move it.

Also, when I scroll up and down webpages.

These noises go away some time after the program has been opened.. but I just want to know what part of the computer is squeaking. I figure it's the GPU.

Oh and my case is open so mabye that's why I can hear it so well.

A:High high pitch sqeaking noise from computer when scrolling

Could be interference from something. If i have my volume WAY up, I can hear distortion when I move my mouse, but only if certain audio sources are enabled. Try going to your audio setup and turning off cd digital/analog and such one at a time and see if that helps.

One of my friends has a Tracfone W376G and he wants to get a high frequency sound like the ones you find here. He wants the ones in the 12 to 22 range. He also wants to be able to have them saved in his Menu - Multimedia - Sounds - Additional Storage Devices area of the phone.
