Windows 7 installed on iRULU Spirit Book S1

Q: Windows 7 installed on iRULU Spirit Book S1

Just bought an iRULU 14 inch Spirit Book S1 and it has Windows 10 on it. It also has a 32GB chip soldered on the main board so now way to remove it and try another OS. Has anyone been successful on installing Windows 7 on this machine?

Thank you for any replies!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Windows 10 has no native DVD player software. You can download a free open-source player called VLC Media Player and it should allow viewing of standard DVD movies from an old-school disk: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Here's the bottom line: I have an HP PAVILION 505n and use XP. The past few months, my speed to move from one site to another, or even to fill our forms on certain websites, has gotten slower and SLOWER and S-L-O-W-E-R. I've already defraged and stopped certain programs from opening up and done my anti-virus and antispyware....you name it, NOTHING helps.

SO.....my brilliant son who lives far far away tells me that he's sure I need to reload my windows. But he says this: You lose every setting you have, you have to reset everything, reinstall everything from scratch, reenter usernames and passwords, back up all your critical data and files (and i know you have no idea where most of this stuff is located so you'd likely lose a lot if you weren't careful). This isn't a decision someone like you can take lightly.

Oh gee. I'm thrilled.

SOOOO, can I really do this on my own?? IS THERE A STEP-BY-STEP instruction page somewhere, just as step-by-step as a recipe for a great dish?? Or am I doomed here?

I exported my address book from Outook 2003 into the Windows (XP) Address Book. This is great because then I don't have to have Outlook open to view my address book.

However, it isn't linked to my Outlook address book so that whenever I made a change to my addresses in Outlook, it'll reflect in the Windows address book.

I had that set up perfectly in my old computer (Windows 98SE) but can't get it to work in XP.

Any tips or ideas?

Does anybody have any experience or knowledge of this old (1999) Microprose/Broadsword motor racing game?

Our computer spec is adequate and we have had it running fine before but, since we uninstalled and then reinstalled it, it won't run past the introductory sequence but reverts back to the Desktop.

I have used jv16 to get rid of any left over Registry stuff and can't think what else to try. The support website, unsurprisingly, no longer works.

A:Spirit of Speed 1937

Never even heard of the game....but are you running Windows XP? If so, have you tried running it in compatability mode?

Has anyone got any experience of this old, (1999), driving game by Microprose/Hasbro?.

We had it working well once and uninstalled it. When reinstalled it will go through the intro sequence and then crash back to the Desktop. The uninstall was done via Norton Cleansweep and we used Reg Cleaner to get rid of any leftovers.

This is an old computer with AMD K62 450Mhz, 128MB and 13 GB HDD with lots of room. Sound and graphics are onboard and 8MB of memory is assigned to graphics. This specification may be at the lowest limit for this game but it did work OK previously.

Lots of stuff has been updated or installed/uninstalled since the last time this game ran successfully so I can't put this comp back into the state it was in at that time. One thing that hasn't been changed (as far as I know) is sound or graphics drivers.

I run up to date AV and anti trojan and use a firewall and anti spyware program so any settings that have changed will be the result of other program installs/uninstalls.

A:Spirit of Speed 1937

Forgot to mention that we have Win 98, Direct X 8.1 and IE 5.5 SP2, if that matters.

I have tried the general troubleshooting hints from the Microprose (now Infogrames) website, such as lowering hardware acceleration and turning off all other running programs, but they didn't help.

Unfortunately, the site has no specific help for this game, which suggests to me that any support was discontinued before the original authors of the game were acquired by or merged into Infogrames.

We bought this game for very little money so, as my end qoute suggests, 'it doesn't matter very much' its just annoying that it did work once and doesn't now!.

I've had craving to play Starcraft, I pop the CD into the PC and run the game.
Than something, that never happened before happens:
While the game runs as usual, from the left edge of the screen to the middle black lines and squares begin to appear, flickering, pissing the hell out of me. I can't really play the game, because half of the screen is being assaulted by black lines that flicker and jump up and down.
Attempted to reinstall the game, but no dice, same issue.

As a note, I did not make any software nor hardware changes since the last time I played the game.

Any advice?

Anyone try this yet?

Hi there
I had some trouble with USB until I did the following
1) ensure VT (Intel Virtualisation Technology) is enabled in the BIOS -- or equiv AMD option if non Intel CPU. Although you CAN run some VM's without this option it can cause problems if it's not enabled.

2) Disconnect any not needed USB devices at the initial install. After ist boot everything should then be OK.

3) Install VMware tools (vmware) / VBOX aditions (Vbox) or Parallels tools -- depending on your Virtual Machine software.

A virus or something hit my Compaq computer. I have Windows XP and Norton Anti-virus. Norton was in the process of blocking the virus when the system froze up completey and a re-boot was the only option. Some of the XP start up files were corrupted or deleted or something, so that Windows XP will no longer start properly. The welcome screen comes up fine, but the desktop is now just a completely blank blue screen, no error messages, no icons, no start menu, task bar....nothing. So I cannot open any programs or do anything except CNTRL ALT DEL to shut down or restart. I tried to do a restore in safe mode - didn't work. Then I tried to re-install XP in repair mode, and I kept getting error messages that certain (multiple) files could not be copied. In the end, the repair installation was unsuccessful. So, I did a complete new install of Windows XP to a new folder (c:\windows2). This install worked fine. Now there are 2 versions of XP on my computer and when I boot up I have to choose which one to use. My question is regarding the programs that were already installed, such as MS Office, Norton Anti-Virus, Family Tree Maker etc. How do I get the newly installed XP to recognize these programs which were previously used by the now dysfunctional XP? When the new XP starts and I click on programs, none of the programs installed on the computer are listed. How do I pull them in to the new XP? I had someone put Unbuntu on my computer and I don't like it. I am trying to install Windows 7 Home Premium. I was able to erase Unbuntu and have installed the Windows 7 Disk. I install it in safe mode but I keep getting stuck, states that

The partition is of an unrecognized type." I have downloaded from a link in this forum what I thought were the drivers needed. That did not help the situation. In the help section of the computer, it states I can use the "advanced set up" and load the create a partition but I am not having any luck there either.

I am sorry that I don't know much about the specs of this desktop.

Firstly thanks for your help.

I have a problem with windows update kb3045999. It has caused a lot of problems on my system, with programs not loaded after booting (eg notepad, IE etc return error code The application was unable to start (0xc0000018). I understand that this is a known error and many have posted about it online. I can reboot my computer a number of times and eventually the programmes will work as normal, however that is a bit of a pain.

From reading online it appears the way to fix the problem is to uninstall the update. I thought I had done that but the error kept happening. I then had the idea of reinstalling the update and uninstalling again in-case it did not uninstall correctly, however when I try to install the update it advises me that it is already installed and when I try to uninstall it using the wusa /uninstall command I am advised that the update is not installed.

Any ideas on what to do?

So I have been trying to work through my Windows Update issues, turns out it was majorly broken. I think I have it mostly working now. My issue I am having is down to one specific update that I downloaded a separate installer for. It failed partway through installation and now I am completely stuck.

I am trying to get KB3033929 installed, it is required for me to install Oculus software. Oculus installer says I do not have the hotfix and will not install. Running the Microsoft WUSA installer says KB3033929 is already installed and cannot be installed. Running the command-line 'wusa /uninstall "package_path"' says that the update is not installed so it can't be uninstalled. Running the command-line 'wusa /install "package_path"' says that the update *is* installed already.

So it is clearly stuck in some indeterminate state where it is simultaneously installed and not installed and I am going to have to do some manual cleaning I assume. I am comfortable manually editing whatever I have to do, I just don't know where or how to fix this. I haven't been able to find anything with this specific problem. Anyone have any ideas how to proceed short of an industrial sized shredder?

Haven't needed help from you guys in a while. I'm even using windows 8 now. Your advice was so good the last time.. I'm back.

Ok so I have a brand new kingston 4gb ram chip installed on my ecs p-45-t black series board. It replaced a 1gb chip. My other chips all say 1.8v this new one is 1.95.

According to my board manual, the board may only take 2gb chips, that contradicts its 16gb max capacity it boldly advertises. So I threw a dart. Now its telling me that I only have 7gb's one gigabyte more than before but I technically just added 3.

So far I have increased my memory voltage in the blue setup screen you get when pressing delete to 1.95 to see if it would fix this. It has not. I also just downloaded two bios files that I have not loaded.

I wait to hear from you again.

A:9gb Ram installed. 7 Gb shown as installed, 6.1gb available. Windows 8

I would not change the bios at this time.
I recommend installing all match ram that meet the motherboard specs. Mismatching ram seldom works correctly if at all.

I have just re installed Windows XP. Windows installed after two attempts. When I turn the computer on there are two Windows XP choices. Only the first works how I delete the other one. I tried Boot.ini tab & both paths are valid according to boot.ini. But only one boots up.

I have one hard drive. With at least two partitions. C: 74.7 GB with 63.3 freespace
D: 74.2GB with 70.6 freespace

These are my original hard drive specifications: 160GB (7200RPM) SERIAL ATA HARD DRIVE WI

So I suspect there is at least one or more hidden partitions leaving 11.1 GB for hidden partitions!

Windows is present on both C: & D: drives. In the windows directory on C: the earliest entry is 19.12.12, 21.43 the latest 21.12.12, 22.50
In the windows directory on D: the earliest entry is 19.12.12, 18.42 the latest 21.12.12, 22.40

Is partition 1 the C: drive & partition 2 the D: drive? Will I be able to delete one copy of windows?

Hope this makes sense to someone, any help gratefully received!

how do I send an email to several people in my address book? I know how to make a group but suppose I just want to click on a few names and send an email? I can't seem to make it do that

A:Windows Mail Address book

Hi Mocha37a,

Welcome to the forums.

There are a couple ways of doing this as long as the names are in your contacts. Click on the 'To:' button and a list will come up. Double clicking any name will add it to the To list. Also you can type in the names separated by a comma or semi-colon and Mail will look them up in the contacts list. If you type in just a first or last name and there are more than one possibility in your contacts, WM will offer a list of possible emails for you to choose from. This last bit won't happen until you hit the send button. You can also add more than one auto complete address (the last 29 names you've sent email to) by comma/semi colon separating the names.

I tried searching WD website for drivers, but that only gave me the impression, that these drivers were implicit within Windows, nor was I able to find any information or downloads containing any driver info/files.
Within the re-installation process, I could easily access the WD drive during my search for a driver for it, and could even point at my backup data on the drive, which however was not recognized as any useful driver information, naturally.
So where can I find such driver information, that I can get the re-installations process to accept and use, so I can get my PC back on track with the new internal HD.
In the beginning I could still start on my old HD, but the state of this drive kept deteriating, so that now I can no longer start my good old PC.

Any recommendations would be appriciated.

I have to tell you that my best friend (when I first started working with Windows) was,and still is, Help & Support (Start/Help & Support)
What is cool is that, whenever you have a question, you can look it up.

My second best friend was (and has now become my new best friend), GOOGLE, you can find it here, and make sure to bookmark it:
http://www.google.ca/ The best Internet search site there is!

I'm pretty sure if you can't find it with GOOGLE,it doesn't exist...yet!

The great thing about these two things is that they are FREE!
