Is this Win 7 or Firefox at fault? Moved from Mozilla/Firefox browsers

Q: Is this Win 7 or Firefox at fault? Moved from Mozilla/Firefox browsers

I don't know if my problem is Firefox or WordPress but I thought I'd try here first.
I use WordPress to publish articles and usually copy and paste from the finished article in the Articles forum to WordPress but since I reinstalled Win 7 this no longer works as paste is no longer an option when I right click in WordPress, or at least in the particular part that I need it to. I can, however, do it in Internet Explorer, but images aren't copied over, which they used to be. I've tried all the usual things like clearing the cache, but nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Is this Win 7 or Firefox at fault? Moved from Mozilla/Firefox browsers

Hi,
I am using Win-7 too but I haven't used IE. So my suggestion is to, try another browser for the same purpose and then see the effects (I feel firefox is well suited for the purpose). If you are getting same problems then, you are missing with some features of Win-7 otherwise, it is the website issue.

Firefox has been freezing up on me, and when I close it down, I get a bluescreen error. It also happens a lot of the time when I close Firefox down normally. This was happening before I updated to the latest version of FF. I am running Windows XP, and have recently started using ZoneAlarm and Avast on my system.

A:Firefox closes = bluescreen error? (Moved for the mozilla/Firefox Forum)

Hi,

Can you give us the error in full that you are getting. Also, I would check and make sure that ZoneAlarm and Avast are allowing FF to connect to the internet.

Cheers!

I realize that I am a little late to the party with respects to reviewing Firefox 3.6, but there is a reason for this; I wanted to give the new version some real time to impress me, especially since I have always been a fan of IE8 (I know, I know). After a couple weeks of solid home use, I honestly have to say that I was impressed with the new version. When it comes to internet browsers, there are as many options as there are websites, it sometimes seems. And I do realize that there are casual users and fanboys, who take their browser more seriously than life itself. I?m not comparing Firefox to other options (okay, a little bit) and I?m not saying one is better than the others (okay, maybe I will), so keep your claws in fanboys, this is just a friendly review and my opinion.

Hey! There's absolutely NO reason to be ashamed. IE8 is an excellent, and safe browser, and NO one should be faulted, or feel bad for using it. The choice of browser has NOTHING to do with security or performance anymore - and only a matter of personal preference for the "look and feel" of the product.

After all, regardless the browser of choice, we still have to practice safe computing by keeping our systems updated, patched, scanned and blocked, and we still must avoid risky practices - like illegal filesharing.

I'd like to share that using alternate browsers like Mozilla Firefox and Opera 7 are less vulnerable than Internet Explorer to adware, spyware, and security exploits. I use Internet Explorer and while it remains my default browser, so that key dependant Windows functions continue to work well. There are also a few sites that will only work with IE. However, I use Firefox and Opera for most of my browsing needs. Thus, I wanted to share with the members, that you can have all 3 running simultaneously with ZERO issues (unless you're on a very old PC with limited RAM). For example, I use Opera 7 with built-in tabular browsing for most forum postings. I use Mozilla Firefox for all email and most general browsing. I also use IE on most trusted sites and for secure transactional sites requiring IE. While some folks are zealous on uninstalling IE or using one browser over the other, I personally like using the best qualities of all three. Below are some articles I've written on this in the past for more information.CURRENT VERSIONShttp://www.mozilla.org/http://www.opera.com/download/Mozilla Firefox 0.8+ latest betahttp://www.myitforum.com/forums/tm.asp?m=48578Opera 7.50 latest preview version (beta)http://www.myitforum.com/forums/tm.asp?m=49157Mozilla and Opera as complementary Browsershttp://www.myitforum.com/forums/tm.asp?m=22544

A:Mozilla Firefox and Opera 7 complementary browsers

I also use Mozilla.org, but it is my default browser. I have found it faster, with more features I use (tabbed browsing, cookie manager.etc) than IE, and it has virtually eliminated any annoying pop-ups. Being open source, Mozilla adds new features and enhancements about once every quarter;while IE has not changed in a long time,a new release of Mozilla is due very soon. My own feeling is that Mozilla is a lot more secure than IE---this may be the result of its relative small user base or of its being open source.

This being said, it is still necessary to retain IE, since it is needed by the Windows Operating System---and therefore cannot be uninstalled---and some sites, most notably those by MS, only work with IE. Because of all the hooks between IE and Windows, even if you do not use IE, it is imperative that all IE critical security updates be installed.

Regards to all,
John

I have 4 browsers on my computer: Internet Explorer 8, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera. I am trying to listen to some MP3 files on a website, and all of the browsers, except for IE 8, told me to download the Realplayer Plugin. So I did, and when I tried to listen to the MP3 file, Realplayer will automatically enable this "Autoupdate Helper" thing and check for updates. So I let it check for updates, but then it'll say "There are no updates..." and just stop there. The file won't play! I click play again, and the same thing happens.

Internet Explorer is the only browser smart enough to open the MP3 files on the web page using Quicktime (the website actually tells you to use Quicktime to open the files) but it doesn't load the Youtube videos that are embedded on the site. There's a X on the top left corner of the section where the video is suppose to be.

Now I'm stuck! I want to view all the contents on one page with one browser! But none of the browsers will actually work properly!

So the main problem is:

1. The MP3 files won't load in Chrome, Firefox, and Opera using Quicktime.

Chrome is the only browser I use frequently, and the others are basically backup. IS THERE ANY SOLUTION TO THIS!?!?!?

Thanks everyone!

I know other users have had issues with this but I didn't know if I could follow the solutions for their problem or not.

(Not sure what information is helpful so I'll start and the top and be brief)
For my job I am required to sometimes go to 'suspect websites' and normally Norton will catch anything before it even has a chance to download. Sadly, two weeks ago I did download a file called Trojan.Gen (or at least that is what Norton called it). Almost immediately Norton caught and removed all threats but I knew I wasn't going to get off that easy.

For a few days everything seemed fine but shortly after I started seeing attack messages from Norton from \device\harddiskvolume1\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe, the IP and web address changes.

I couldn't tell if it was doing anything to my computer and have since been trying to remove it with no luck with Norton. Now, my web pages are being redirected to either a fake search page or a Pay Per Click page, if I click a link in Google.

Norton and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Free are telling me that they are not detecting anything.

I did read the preparation guide, so I hope I have all the information that is needed.

I want to thank you in advance for any help that I can get and I understand that this is a process. I appreciate your time!

Hi Guys

I am new to this forum and have limited knowledge of computers.
I was using Firefox version 2 and was very happy until I was requested to download version 3. Now I seem to have endless crashes and keep getting told Firefox has a problem & needs to close. Up to 5 x a day.

This is very frustrating.
This happens with avg, facebook ,all internet functions.

I have spybot running and avg and says there are no problems.

We had a power failure earlier yesterday and when I switched back on Microsoft suggested I check the C drive as there was a problem -but that seems to have sorted itself out.-probably due to not closing down properly.

So can you help me with detailed instructions on how to fix forefox or totally remove it and install from the beginning or is there major problems with that version 3 .1 ?

Thanks
Carol

Firefox HAVE placed a message on the site when trying to access Sky sports, and the message is "They realise there is a problem and are trying to solve it."
However, it is a very long time now that it hasn't worked. I realy changed from IE to Firefox, because from past experience, I used to get a lot of errors and messages with MS IE, hence my swap to Firefox.
But they are slow in fixing this problem.

Hi, I'm having problems with Firefox. It instantly disappear when I visit certain website like ZoneAlarm and Anti-Keylogger Professional anti spyware. I had Zonealarm installed on my computer but I uninstalled it since it loads very slowly, and now whenever I try to visit ZA's website to download it Firefox disappear instantly like in a blink of an eye, don't know what's causing it. Firefox is not listed on my Task Manager whenever that happens. Recently Eset detected a virus when I run Firefox, the virus tried to direct and open Firefox to this address "http://112.201.96.1:15133/x"
The name of the virus Eset detected was "Win32/Virut.NBP virus". Now I don't if this virus was the cause of Firefox's disappearing act, I read on the internet that this virus is difficult to remove, I may have to resort to formatting my HD just to make sure that this virus is completely eliminated from my computer. Anyway gonna wait for your suggestions. Thank you.

Open your task manager. Click on the Processes tab. Look for Firefox.exe. and end that process using the task manager.

Firefox should open normally for you after that.

Sometimes it doesn't close completely for whatever reason, and when this happens and you click on the executable, it won't open a new browser.

Whats the pros and cons of both, and stability is the most important for me

thanks

A:IE6 vs Mozilla Firefox

why don't you check them both out for yourself ? they run just fine alongside one another.

stability is not an issue I find.

On a small no of sites, maybe 5% only IE seems to render them properly, but the rest no problem.

The main issue is security - alternative browsers esp. firefox are known to be safer.

Also check out avant browser & k-meleon.

Hey.
Sometime during the last week was Mozilla Firefox into USC (user account control device) list, which means that I have to press yes every time I open a new window. I'm using Windows 7 (64bit) (Home Premium I think). This is not a vital, yet incredibly annoying when you want to hurry up a bit. Would like to know how to remove Firefox from the list or just check may be that it's okay "Allows you the following program can be used to make changes to your computer." ii mean seriously to have that run 24/7 is sooo annying.

My thx to who ever can fix this.

A:UAC+Mozilla Firefox

Should just be able to go to the firefox.exe in Program Files (x86) right click on it and uncheck the box here, if it's checked. And check your FF desktop shortcut to make sure that shows as uncheked as well. If you have it pinned to the taskbar, you might have to unpin and repin it after you uncheck it.

Tis difficult to fall in like, let alone love, with Firefox for a browser because as of late, it won't load pages.

Example 1: eBay sites. Certain ones load immediately. Others, such as "View Seller's Other Items" won't load. The page loads and loads and loads and... never loads! Example 2: Pogo games. Just this week it won't load certain rooms.

In both above examples, it's not the web site because I can immediately access via IE.

Question: Is anybody else experiencing slow/non loads of sites?

A:Mozilla Firefox

Hi

Yeah you are right about pogo. I just tried chess with mozilla and it said the site is temperarily down. I tried right after that with IE and it came right up. I don't know about the ebay one though. Maybe someone else knows why. People on this site are always saying firefox is better. Maybe someone can explain why? I just like firefox because you can put bookmarked web pages below the address bar for easy access.

Hi all

Mozilla Firefox (v3.06) is intermittently showing a 'fault' - the visible webpage, not the heading, is jumping up and down, just less than font height in magnitude. The fault is not happening all the time but randomly. There is no one page which is showing this fault but it just happens. The only trigger seems to be when I select an item on the page. When it happens I have to return to previous page or if it is on the default page I shutdown and restart. IE is O/K. I have tried system restore, still there.

Whilst on the forum pages there is no problem so I think it may be just news stories when I select them as the default is 'news.bbc.co.uk'.

I want to re-install FF however I do not want to lose the settings, can I re-install over the original?

That might be some advertising gone awry. Personally, I would try installing the AdBlockPlus add-on extension along with a good subscription.

Alternatively, but more work, the NoScript add-on could help alleviate this as well.

Hi everyone i use a internet browser called Mozilla Firefox, its the newset version out. But when ever i want to watch a video as for myspace it says i need to download a plugin, and that plugins are missing. Well the only option i have is Manual and once i go to download Windows Media Player 10 it says that its already on my computer... But i still cant watch videos!!! plz help
email me at [email protected], plz i need ur help

I would remove my email address if I were you.
You might need Quicktime player or another player than WMP. Does the site say which player is needed? In the address bar of Firefox, type: aboutlugins and hit enter. See if you have Quicktime plugin. I would suggest Quicktime Alternative instead of Quicktime because it is not loaded with bloat. If you load QA, read the instructions for installation and setup.

That doesn't sound normal. It sounds like you have ad-ware, which is similar to a virus, on your computer. Download, install, update, and run MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM). If you do have ad-ware or other malware, MBAM should do a good job of finding it.

I have Mozilla Firefox installed and has been using it for awhile without any problems. Yesterday I updated the site and now when I open Firefox it's just a blank page. No errors are displayed. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it's still the same. The Internet Exlporer works but I rather use Firefox. Please help me.

I am thinking of trying Mozilla-Firefox as an eventual replacement for IE. I understand that it is better for security. Would you recommend going directly to Firefox 0.9.1 which is beta, or taking (part of) the Mozilla suite? Any comments appreciated.

You'll probably have to go in and remove all remnants of Firefox from your Users and Program Files directories. If this still doesn't fix it, then you'll probably end up doing some registry diving to fix it. Don't forget to backup the registry and know how to restore it before modifying it!

When using Firefox, it works fine, however if I try and open my D: Drive and Recycle Bin, unsure of whether other folders will do this, Firefox automatically closes and anything link with. As I try and reopen the application, it says that it cannot run becuase "js3250.dll" is missing, also stating that re-installing the application may work. So I reinstall but the same thing occurs. I have tried copying "js3250.dll" to a different folder and pasting it back in when it loses this file, however it is not a singular file that is rid of, many .dll files have gone missing to. I have tried SUPERAntispyware to remove some adware, but that also has not solved the problem. So what IS the problem and how do I fix it?

And also when I reinstall, I had copied the whole folder to D: drive, and the same problem occurs, except that no files are lost.

Update: I have just discovered that even if Firefox isn't running, and I open up Recycle Bin or D: drive, the files are still deleted. ie Firefox in drive C: won't run as some files are lost automatically.

A:Mozilla Firefox

Which version of Firefox do you have. Did you also delete all the folders of Firefox in Application data. Furthermore what is the version of your Java? Here yu can download the new js3250 file, but I assume your problem will be resolved when downloading latest version of Java

I was using the latest Mozilla Firefox, and I got a Program not responding error, so I ended the program Mozilla Firefox, and when I tried to re open it, I got something where I had to choose some sort of user preference configuration, the deafault one said it was in use, so I tried renaming it, but it still didnt work, so I made a new one and got on, bbut I've lost all of my bookmarks etc, how can I get them back?

A:Mozilla Firefox

Check in your "Profiles Folder" and see if you can retrieve it from there. Or do a file search for a file named "bookmarks.html". If you find it, just import it into the browser.
