I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am using Microsoft word 2016 and Visio 2013.
I put the Visio images directly in the word document and a Visio object is created.
However, if the file I have created is opened and saved in lower version than word 2016 (let's say word 2010) the visio object is shown as an unidentified object in my pc. Whereas, in the other pc where it was edited (which was having a lower
version of Microsoft word) it works fine.
Please help me solve this problem.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

At work, we recently upgraded from Visio 2000 to Visio 2003.

Mistake. Big mistake. Huge.

Now, when we try to edit the graphics, we get the same types of problems that many other users have reported: lines don't connect; text is improperly kerned (spaced between letters); text appears lighter (medium gray) in print and on screen; some elements don't display.

Has anyone been successful at getting Visio 2000 images into Visio 2003 format without heavy image editing?

I am trying to crop a picture I drew in Visio 2002. The cropping tool isn't working the way I expected. I click my drawing object, and my cropping tool is engaged, but I can't remove the extra space around the jagged edge so that the picture appears jagged as it should when superimposed onto another picture. Instead, it has a straight edge...the shape of the Visio drawing placeholder...in other words the picture actually covers a rectangular area when placed on top of another picture, instead of the actual shape of the drawing. Help?

A:Visio 2002

Cropping will be "straight line", if that is the issue. Not aware of a cropping ability to follow a jagged shape in Visio.

Visio files are received as attachments in Outlook 2016. Visio Viewer 2016 and IE11 are also installed on Windows 10 (1607).
Previewing the Visio file (VSD in this case) is successful. However, when you try to open the Visio file, IE11 attempts to open it (as expected) but only displays a blank page.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this issue?   Other articles suggest that Visio Viewer 2016 does not support IE11.

I'm running Visio 2002 to document our network. I have hyperlinks built into the shapes that represent our closets. The hyperlinks point to an external system. I'd like to have that link open in a new window. I've tried the following (culled from various Google hits):

So far, no success. Anybody have any ideas?

The Microsoft Visio® Viewer 2002 allows anyone to view Visio drawings and diagrams (if created with Visio 5, 2000, or 2002) inside their Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later Web browser.
Visio users can freely distribute Visio drawings and diagrams to team members, partners, customers, or others, even if the recipients do not have Visio installed on their computers. Internet Explorer also allows for printing, although this is limited to the portions of the drawings that appear in the current view.

The Visio Viewer 2002 enables users to discover the advantages of using Visio drawings, charts, and illustrations in a Web-based environment. It is particularly useful for teams that need to collaborate from different locations.

I am using Visio 2002 (release 10.0.525) under XP to create UML Class Diagrams (which Visio call Static Structure Diagrams). I created several diagrams by adding class box shapes to the diagram and by attaching lines between the boxes to represent relationships/associations between the classes. If you double click on a line a properties window opens and you can set the "Name" & "Name Reading Direction" for the relationship. The latter feature adds a small arrow head on the left or right of the displayed name when you have the relationship name displayed on the diagram. (The name can be displayed or not by right clicking on the line, selecting the "Shape Display Options" menu then selecting "Name" under the "General Options"). My problem is this; after two days the small arrows suddenly started to show as "3" or "4" before and after the name respectively. And I cannot make them show as arrow heads again. I have sent the diagram to others and it has the same problem on their PCs. Does anyone have any idea how to get Visio to display the arrow heads again????

Hi,

Microsoft Office Visio, how do i print one page 4 times on the same page, so 4 smaller versions?

Thanks

Arron

A:MS Visio

The option to print 4 copies to one page is a property (or limitation) of the printer and the driver installed on your computer. When you choose print from the file menu, it opens a dialog box where you can change the settings. Some advanced print drivers allow you to change the setup or page options. Look for page layout and see if you have a setting to allow for # of pages per sheet(ie. four pages per sheet layout). Hope this helps.

Hello Forum.

I am new to Visio and I am using the Microsoft Visio trial for the first time.

I am used to other drawing progrms but Visio does not work like other programs.

I have so far managed to put little boxes on a drawing area.

But I don't know how to do simple things like resize the object. It would help if I could change the cursor so that it is a pointer again. Instead it seems to be expecting me to add text.

A:New to Visio

You have to click on the pointer tool it looks like a mouse pointer icon, another tool tou might use is the connector tool, it will let you continously drag lines between shapes and connect to the handles.

We have Novell and have learned to rename the mfc42.dll before the visio install as Novell has altered the damn file and visio simply overwrites it. But this is different and more deadly. If someone forgets to rename the file first we can fix it with the console mode repair.

There's usually 2 radio buttons below the agreement, but above the Next buttons, and you need to tick one for "I Agree" or "I Disagree". Once one is ticked, then the Next button will be activated.

If you tick "I Disagree" then the installation will be aborted!

Hi,
Im using Visio to create ERD diagrams for university.

I create the entities and the attributes, assign primary keys etc.

I then click on the relationship button and drag it across.

I have two questions/problems.
How do i get the lines to go from the primary key in one table to the foreign key in another?
Currently it just links the whole entities, not just the attributes which are linked.

For example i have two tables with staff id in them. I want the relationship lines to start end at the word staff id, currently it just joins the two boxes and adds PK, FK1 or whatever to the left hand side.

Secondly i want the crows feet to show up as the end type, to represent a one to many relationship.
When i right click, go on format then line, i choose crows feet (three branches) as the end type.
I click apply then ok, but the lines dont change, they just stay the same.
I sent the file to my friend and he says it doesnt work for any of the start/end types.

Any ideas whats wrong with Visio?
The program was not bought, as a student studying networks i can download legal versions of software to help with my course, from small applications to big ones such as operating systems.
Just wondering if that has anything to do with it?
Thanks.

Can you upload a zipped sample of what you're working with? As far as I understood, you couldn't do that with Visio relationships. I could be wrong though. A sample file would help to work with though.

This session will show just how powerful Visio® 2000 is for developers. On one side, it allows the developer to perform tasks like visually design a database or application and reverse engineer databases and Visual Basic projects. On the other side, it is also possible to use Visio® as a component in your client solution by extending the Visio environment. This allows creating some really interesting user interfaces for complex data.

I'm looking to map out each room within the network on a separate tab within it and link each connection through the tabs so it will flip to the specified connection on that tab. In total it is approximately 15 rooms, 30 Windows based OS machines, 20 LaserJet printers routed through ExtendNet printer (hubs or routers I think, not 100% sure, ethernet cable goes in one end, parallel cable comes out the other) and a few switches and patch panels in racks in the larger offices. Any experiences with this?

The files are located locally in my Documents.

A:Visio: Unable to save

It sounds like a windows policy
Check the folder, right click on the folder, choose options and then security or similar.
Check that.

I'm trying to design a flow-chart with shapes that are the anchor for
mouseover, drop-down text boxes. Each shape will be labeled as a step in the
process and I want the drop-down text box to contain more detailed
information about its respective step. My problem is I have no idea how to
accomplish this task within Visio. Screentips, tooltips and custom properties
either don't work after being published or don't provide enough space for the
text.

Any suggestions on how to get this done, including other applications
(preferably freeware) that will work, are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
