I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

My Lenovo Yoga 730's touchscreen suddently stopped working (no touch events seem to be sent). In Device Manager, the HID-compliant touch screen device is present and has no errors, and the keyboard and touchpad work properly. In the BIOS, the touchscreen doesn't seem to work either. My laptop is up to date with all the Lenovo drivers.Any help is appreciated.

Neither the stylus nor the touch is longer working. Seems to be related to an upgrade of Touch Firmware from Lenovo.  Lenovo support here in Sweden recommends a complete reinstall of Windows.

I was very satisfied with my machine until 17th May.My laptop was awake and connected to the internet for a few hours, then put to sleep. When I opened it again, both touchscreen and pen were not working. Maybe that happened after some Vantage autoupdates while computer was awake. I didn't have time to deal with this problem then, and some more updates came,  but they didn't solve the problem.(actually thanks to BIOS update I now also have a slow charging bug, but lenovo says it will be fixed soon). I cant see any Wacom or touchscreen devices in Device Manager under HID category. When I open Lenovo Pen Settings app, it says "This app requires Wacom Pen driver to be installed" and gives a link to appropriate driver.I tried installing it, the error came "the supported tablet was not found on the system".Wacom touch firmware package also can't install because "Target device not found", and in Windows settings it shows "no pen or touch inut availible for this display".So driver installation didn't work. It doesn't look like a hardware problem since i barely moved the laptop that day and it never fell or crushed. Please help me out, I hope that full rollback is not the only option left! ThinkPad L380 YogaProduct number: 20M7001BRTCurrent BIOS: R0RET36W 1.19Current Windows: 1809 build 17763.475

This seems to happen whenever a Windows update goes out, and I have to wait for Lenovo to provide firmware/bios/driver updates that fix the problem.  I have to say that this recurring bad experience will weigh heavily into my next purchasing decision.  I paid a lot extra for a touchscreen that breaks with every Windows update, and the wait for a fix is often quite long. What is the ETA for this next round of fixes from Lenovo?

Hello.Maybe someone can help me. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga with Win 10 running and in the past weeks it all worked fine. I used the Touchscreen and Tablet mode a bit and also used the pen occasionally. Since my flight back from Spain last weekend, the touchscreen stopped working. It does not react to fingers or the pen at all. I do not see an error message in the device manager, but am also not able to identify which device the toughscreen should be - I see no "wacom" device listed there. Wind 10 Hardware problem solver did not find anything. I also let the automated Lenovo driver updater run and it did some updates, but none regarding the touchscreen and it did not change anything. Now I first need to find out if it is a hardware or a software error - how can I do that?

Hey all, My Spectre's touch screen stopped working after trying to upgrade its firmware.I was looking for a newer firmware version to make the stylus work, but after running the software I got a red screen, it rebooted and never worked.I called HP support and they told me it is a hardware problem, however the hardware is detected correctly when I boot it with a Linux distro. Looks like it's a matter of having the correct firmware or driver to make it work again.I looked everywhere for a firmware update or a tool to diagnose it, but I had no luck.HP support here in Brazil says they can't do anything, even if I have a global coverage. Taking it to the US for support is out of question. Any thoughts? Thanks Here's the lsusb -v output for it. Bus 001 Device 004: ID 04f3:000b Elan Microelectronics Corp.Device Descriptor:  bLength                18  bDescriptorType         1  bcdUSB               1.10  bDeviceClass            0 (Defined at Interface level)  bDeviceSubClass         0  bDeviceProtocol         0  bMaxPacketSize0         8  idVendor   &n... The touchscreen on my HP Pavilion 14-b141sa laptop stopped working yesterday morning. It was intermittently failing to register touch for a while but now it doesn't respond at all. It did this before a couple of years ago, but luckily I was able to fix it earlier this year thanks to a SoftPaq called SP63116. Now it has stopped working once again and SP63116 doesn't help when I run it. I tried all of the troubleshooting advice on this page, the official HP help page (short of fully reseting/restoring the system) but none of those solutions worked either. To be clear, I tried checking everything in device manager, hard reseting, reinstalling the touchscreen driver, installing all available updates, checking I had the latest BIOS and drivers (Couldn't do a component test; that option wasn't on my F2 start-up check anymore strangely...)And as I said, I tried SP63116 again but all it does, after going through the set-up screens, is flash up for a moment then disappear without doing anything. I'm suspecting because I used it once before/it's out of date. Any help? It's not the end of the world not to have a touchscreen but it is useful sometimes.(If it's at all relevant, the battery on the laptop is a bit old and is getting the message it needs replacing. I doubt that would be affecting it though)

Okay, I've got a ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2nd Gen and it's touchscreen & pen have randomly stopped working. I've tried the following: - Check device manager (hidden devices; nothing. can't find any drivers.)- Windows 10 reinstall I've uninstalled the drivers in hopes for them to be reinstalled after I restart, but now they're gone. I suspect this to be an issue with the hardware itself, maybe a loose connection or something? Also in settings, it says that "No pen or touch input is available for this display", which is clearly wrong as I was using it perfectly fine the day before. It would be hugely appreciated if someone could help, and how to fix it.

I have an Acer R5-571T. While in tablet mode it slid off my bed and onto the floor, just hard enough to pop the back cover off of the screen. I was easily able to pop it back into place. Now the touchscreen is not responsive to touch, but everything else seems to be in working order. Something must have disconnected. If I open it back up, what should I look for in order to reconnect the touchscreen?

A couple of days ago my Touchscreen stopped working. I went online to find solutions from the HP support site, but am unable to make progress. Perhaps I can get help here. I checked the Device Manager Human Interface section. There are only two devices listed. None have to do with the Touch Screen. Earlier I downloaded the Synaptics Touch Pad Driver (sp72088). This also did not resolve the isssue. I did a System Restore to an earlier time (01/10/2017). That also did not resolve the issue. Then I found the UEFI Hardware Diagnostic Test and did the specific Touchscreen  test. Oddly the Touchscreen worked through the test. I removed all the squares by touching them. So, what else can I do to get this function back? Thank you,Beverly2108

A:Touchscreen on my Notebook N5Y90UA stopped working

I just found out the Synaptics Touch Pad Driver (sp72088)  was originally automatically installed on my notebook on 01/09/2016. Exactly one year later it apparently stopped working. I also just found out that the version I downloaded from the HP site earlier did not complete its installation. Beverly2108

Good morning, Forum. I was randomly working on my laptop this morning, and the touchscreen stopping registering my touch.  I didn't realize just how much I would use the touchscreen and has now become a very vital way I interact with my laptop. I have looked and it seems there is almost no information out there (from my basic search) to help with this type of issue.  I do not have a Pen and Touch setting in my Control Panel (the only "help" I could find), so I am not sure if there is a toggle that I somehow disabled.   I don't see anything that  oudl switch this off and on via my Function key. Can anyone please provide some info? Thanks!

I have read that HP also has this problem, but I have only found mixed results of success. it happened sometime after March 22nd 2015. I believe an update removed the "HID-compliant touch screen" device from device manager, it has just disappeared entirely, i have tried working with usb generic device's drivers, its not listed in there, i have tried enabling the service for HID compliant device, no luck. I have tried going to acer's website for the driver for that model, it is not there. its like they stopped supporting it. help guys, i'm stuck. i need either that driver, a third-party touchscreen software, or something short of restoring it to earlier state.

Hey everyone, I picked up my Yoga today, and I love it. However, about an hour ago the touchscreen went completely unresponsive. The last thing I remeber doing, before noticing the touchscreen becoming unresponsive, was installing the Android SDK. (Well, I ran the installer, but it didn't recognize JDK). So, here I am, with the touchscreen not functional at all. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried the "refresh" and that didn't work. I'm probably going to try the wipe/clean install option in a bit. I guess that would tell me for certain if it's a hardware problem or not. I'm really hoping this isn't a design flaw with the 360 hinge causing issues. I really like the laptop, and would rather not have to deal with hardware issues like this down the road. :/ I'll be calling support in the morning, but was hoping to get this resolved tonight if anyone has had a similar problem.  Thanks!

Hi thereFew months ago I bought a Yoga 520, and I never had any problems with it. Mostly used it for work, and drawing with my wacom tablet. Tried the touch screen a few times, everything was fine. However, today I wanted to try drawing with my finger on the screen, and I realised the touch function of the touchscreen is not working. I always allow WIN10 to update itself, but since I'm not using the touch function regularly I couldn't say when it stopped working. What I've tried so far:Updated drivers, all of them. Checked Lenovo Vantage for new drivers, everything is the latest. Tried uninstalling the driver of the Wacom device from device manager. (btw in device manager, the wacom device has a yellow ! and on the Properties windows it says 'A request for the HID descriptor failed'.Again, installed every driver from Lenovo Support page I could. Tried basically everything suggested in the similar topics in this forum, and on Microsoft's page. Please tell me, you have something figured out other than 'reinstall your PC', because I don't think a notebook in this price range should be reinstalled after 3 months. Is it because a windows update? So should I wait for another update to fix this, or should I just bring it back to where I bought it?Thanks in advance, have a nice day.

Hi all, I've seen a few other posts on this subject, but haven't noticed anything too recent.  I've run into an issue with my brand new Yoga 720 where my touch screen fails to work.  Upon opening device manager, I see that my Wacom Device has a little alert next to it.  The error reported by the device is: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)  A request for the HID descriptor failed." I have tried to reinstall the driver multiple times.  I've grabbed both the Lenovo and the Wacom versions of the driver with no success. I just got the machine today.  The touch screen did not work during the initial installation process, so I don't think the updates are what killed it (as reported elsewhere).  It's also not promising that things magically started to work again after some amount of time. I suppose I don't mind taking the laptop back, but it's otherwise such a nice little laptop (widespread issues with cheap display parts notwithstanding) that I'd really like to be able to hang on to it. Any assistance and / or updates on this problem would be appreciated!
