I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I'm looking at buying this laptop, but i came across a few questions: 1) Can this laptop support up to 32gb RAM as it is mentioned in some youtube reviews? 2) Can this laptop support video through the USB-C port as well, or just data? I'm looking at connecting 2 portable USB-C monitors, 1 through the Thunderbolt port and the other through the normal USB-C port. 3) Is the Thunderbolt port 2 lanes or 4? 4) Is this 4k screen anti-glare as well? 5) How would this 4k screen work connected to 2 FHD portable monitors, in terms of resolution? 6) Is this 4k screen suffering from backlight bleeding as some reviews suggest? Thanks in advance.

A:Lenovo Ideapad 720s 15IKB Touch 4K - specs

Answers to some of your questions: 1) Yes, it supports up to 32GB RAM, however you would need two 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 SO-DIMM modules, which are rather expensive.2) I can confirm, that one USB-C port supports ThunderBolt 3 and DisplayPort 1.2a connection.4) No, it's a glossy panel.6) Most of IPS screens suffers from backlit bleeding problem. It's mostly depends on unit, which you've receive.

Hi Support, I bought my IdeaPad a month ago. After few days of using i saw a black horizontal line on the screen. I opened a ticket and sent my laptop for a warranty repair. Today i recieved my laptop, and black line issue was fixed. BUT!!!! After the 'repair' two new issues are intoduced!1) This is the craziest to my mind - my screen is assembled with an issue. It is curved in the middle of the screen, and i'm afraid if i push that a place a bit harder my screen will be damaged. Do you have a quality Control service? I cant imagine your engineers have not seen what they done. 2) After repair i can see a backlight bleed on the bottom of the screen. It was not there before, so it's an issue after the repair!  I'm totally mad! How come you could make two critical issues from one? I need your help, even if that sounds funny

Hello, my name is sebastian, I need to know if i can extend the memory ram on my "310 Touch-15IKB Laptop (ideapad) - Type 80TW - Model 80TW0004US". Now it's 8gb and I need to extend to 16gb or 32gb, the laptop has 1 bank to the ram ddr4. thank you

A:Extend ram - 310 Touch-15IKB Laptop (ideapad) - Type 80TW - Model 80TW0004US

Hi smbarrionuevo aka Sebastian,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As indicated in the specification of the hardware manual (page27):
Max supported RAM (OEM recommendation is 12 GB
Slots: SODIMM ◊ 1, on board ◊ 1

Since you have a soldered 4 GB ram, you can have another 8GB to replaced the 4GB on the slot for 12 GB.
Can't really vouch for functionality for more than 12GB although third party reseller scanner like crucial may offer something bigger like here. This was also done on by fellow member slikvic24 adding 16GB to his ideapad 310-15ISK.
Always get return options to be on the safe side.

If you are ok with adding just 8GB then part number and suitable 8GB OEM ram are listed here along with substitute if you need it.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

It usually occurs after waking up the Laptop from Standby. Sometimes, not always, a reboot helps. What I encounter in detail:- "Ghost Touch" Phenomenon  ,Ghost touch What I've tried so far to fix it: Firmware update: Even though my screen is an LG and is clearly affected, the firmware update program told me it is "not at risk" and wouldn't need an update. So this solution: https://support.lenovo.com/de/de/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/Yoga-Series/Yoga-3-1470/Solutions/HT1... does not work, at all.Updating drivers: I've updated drivers several times with no lasting positive effect on the issue. Win 10 Updates: Seem to have no effect whatsoever, but I figured are worth trying. Lenovo Updates in Lenovo Companion: No effect. Hardware check in Lenovo Companion: Reports no hardware failures. Calibrating Touch and Stylus: No effect. Once it even got worse, but it certainly didn't fix anything... I don't know... Deactivating and reactivating touch screen in the Device Manager: Seemed to help at first, but the issue keeps reoccurring.... Read more

Ever since I got turned on my 510 for the first time, its fan has been spinning loudly, as if it was under a heavy load. Yet it isn't. Using HWMonitor I can see the temps resides at a cool ~30 degrees when idle, but the fans spins at the same level whether the temperature is 30 or 50, idle or under load. I figured perhaps a BIOS update would fix this problem, but I'm met with this error message. http://imgur.com/a/7FP0S Now, reading the error message, I can see that it addresses a EFI address. When I first got the computer, I did a clean install of Windows 10. To do this, I had to disable multiple things in BIOS such as Secure boot, Intel PTT, and enable legacy boot.  The BIOS update in question is the one below.http://support.lenovo.com/dk/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/500-Series/510-15IKB/80SV/downloads/DS...

Good evening everyone, My 15IKB has been requesting every now and then consent to install a BIOS update. It's written on almost every wall in the internet that BIOS updates must only be made when really necessary, otherwise that's just an unnecessary and big risk to take. Reading the changelog for the version the system is asking to install I couldn't see anything really concerning on the reliability of my system, so I guess this may not be worth the call. Am I right? Should I update the BIOS as asked despite it being against the common good practices? Thanks

A:Frequent BIOS update request for an Ideapad 320 - 15IKB

Recently there were three really important reasons for patching BIOS.1. Patch for vulnerability in Intel ME.2. CPU microcode patch for Spectre vulnerability.3. Another patch for Intel ME patching another vulnerability. And another patch is coming actually. A patch for the next 2 vulnerabilities in Intel CPUs. And this is just beginnig. More and more security vulnerabilities will be found in Intel CPUs, chipsets, Intel ME, etc.

Hi all, I have a Ideapad 510-15IKB and I right when I bought it I saw that there was an BIOS update available but ignored it because I didn't wanna mess with it and everything was working alright. I don't have any problems with my laptop, except for the fan working all the time 24/7. I was wondering if it's worth updating the bios? I was reading about it and people were mainly talking about that fan issue, but what are the other changes that this bios update introduces? Will it actually fix the problem of the fan working non-stop? I know it's better for the system because it's kept at lower temperatures, but I don't want my fan bearing to die so fast because replacing it will be probably a pain in the a**. Could someone provide me some list of changes in that bios? If it's gonna give me some other benefits then I'll be willing to update it (I'd have to convert my system installation to GPT)Thanks!Edit:I'd also like to ask if I should de-install my newest Nvidia drivers and install the 'factory' ones? I mean the drivers straight from Lenovo. I'm experiencing some low performance in some really old games that worked flawlessly even on my very old PC and I'm pretty sure this laptop should handle them a lot better, but doesn't. I read some articles that the original driveres are specially adjusted to laptops and newer, 'universal' drivers may not work as good. I tried tweaking almost everything, ensuring the laptop works with nvidia gpu, putting every power-saving options of... Read more

When I run the command prompt to identify the BIOS it is blank where it should show which version I have. When searching the drivers and downloads section with the computer in question no BIOS files appear. Thanks

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

There is no master password, back door or CMOS clearing procedure that will remove your forgotten password.  This is due to the ease in which laptops are stolen.   To resolve the issue you have basically two options.  The first is for the Uncle to try and remember the password he used.  Please keep in mind that passwords are case sensitive and he may have use upper and lower case characters.  The second option is to replace the motherboard.

Are you suffering any specific problem that the bios update would fix?
If not I suggest against it. It's rare that it happens but a bad bios flash will kill your system.
Often to a level that the board must be RMA'ed to the manufacturer to fix it. As the self recovery options they offer are either very difficult to use properly, or just don't work.
...because of that, I only suggest doing it if there is a direct reason.

hi Hersh,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First do a Power Drain
     (If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
                  If not
I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

Hi there, sorry to be a bother.Like the title says, my touch screen stopped working. I went on to my computer one afternoon and found my mouse stuck in the top left corner, fidgeting. This was what I was expiriencing. (My touch-screen still worked fine at the time, but I still couldn't do anything or control the mouse, but I could tell that it was still working and it still responded.) After a bit of time and a few restarts later, it went back to normal, but my touch-screen then stopped working. I'm used to the touch-screen working incorrectly occasionally, and much like the mouse thing, a restart or two helps. It has now been three days and my touchs-creen still does not work. I've tried many of the solutions found in these forums, but to no avail. I am running Windows 10 and have had this computer for 2+ years.  Thanks.
