Q: Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 b/g/n poor Wi-Fi Download Speed wi...

With Bluetooth ON, WiFi download speed is very slow and intermittent. With Bluetooth OFF it's fine. I've installed the latest WiFi Adapter driver. It makes no difference. Shouldn't I be able to have both WiFi and Bluetooth operational at the same time? My other computer and devices can do so. Do I have a hardware problem or a setup issue? Just purchased the computer.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

WinXP Home SP2
Recently upgraded ADSL connection from 1Mb to 2MB.
Although the tray icon says I am connected at 2.2MB ADSL, my download speeds are no better than when I had a 1Mb connection.
All speed tests including Bts own show a download speed of only 126KB/sec.
BT is unable to explain but believe its got something to do with my system rather than their service, which seems logical considering the tray icon shows 2MB connection.
No antivirus running, only zone alarm.
What could be wrong?

A:Poor download speed but 2MB connection!

The fact that the tray icon says 2.2MB doesnt mean its not he BT service.

But in case it is the system, first off, disable any third party firewall you are using and use the xp firewall instead (not permanently, just for testing)

I have 2 laptop PC's.
One is running Windows 7 the other Windows 8.1.
If I do a speed test to speedtest.net (or any other site for that matter) I get vastly diffent speeds on the 2 PC's.

On the Win 7 PC I get a download speed of 85Meg. (Wireless or ethernet).
On the Win8.1 PC I get a download speed of 4Meg. (Wireless or ethernet).

If I start the win 8 pc in safe mode with networking the speed increases to 20meg.
Reboot and its back to 4 meg.

I have tried lots of different suggestions that I have found whilst searching the web, but nothing works.

The win 7 pc is a Packard Bell and the win 8 is an HP.

I am finding this incredibly frustrating.

Any ideas / suggestions anybody?

A:Poor download speed on Win 8.1 compared to Win 7

Just an update folks.

I reverted my Win 8.1 pc to win 8.

Pre revertion speedtest.net gave 4 Meg download speed. 11Meg upload.

Post revertion (i.e. PC now running win 8) speedtest.net gave 40 Meg download speed. 11Meg upload.

I think this proves that 8.1 seriously affects my download speed.

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me out. I use Virgin Media in London as my ISP and the past week the internet has been running really slowly on my computer, which is not ideal as I play online games.

My ping has been around 150ms most of the time and it's normally below 30ms but a few times a minute it's spiking up to 10000 and frequently disconnecting and reconnecting.

I ran a speed test through Ookla today on my computer and the ping was 146ms, the download speed was 2.3 Mbps (I pay for 100 Mbps). When I ran the exact same test on my phone straight after my ping was 17ms and my download speed 60.49Mbps, so I'm starting to think the problem might be with my computer. In both cases the upload speed was around 5Mbps.

Has anyone got any suggestions on what the problem might be? I'd be really grateful, thanks a lot!

Is your computer(which you didn't describe) using an ethernet or wireless connection?
Is it running Windows XP or Vista or 7 or 8.1 or 10, 32-bit or 64-bit?

Go into the Device Manager and expand the Network Adapters heading.
What's the exact names of the devices listed there?
Open the properties window for those devices and then select the "Driver" tab.
What's the exact driver version listed there?

Initially my Realtek RTL8723BE wireless card worked fine in W10, but like in W8.1 it now stopped working completely. I used all the proposed fixing schemas but nothing worked. The driver is the one dated 28-3-2016 and seems windows certified. When I run the HP provided network check it finds that  a protocol is missing. (Windows socks) but the error cannot be fixed. Completely removing the driver and re-installing did not fix it either. Anybody any ideas ?

Hi there,
Lately I've been having problems with my HP 15 Notebook PC, to be more precise, with my Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-fi Adapter. The issue is that sometimes the adapter simply dissapears from Device Manager and there is nothing i can do to bring it back. I have tried multiple solutions, like attempting to reinstall the driver itself but it simply does not appear back. I've even tried to restore the laptop to factory settings, hoping that it might resolve the issue. However, that did not happen. What i've discovered recently is that if i turn on the laptop with it's battery attached but not on charging, the wi-fi adapter returns and works just as fine, but if i detach it and plug the laptop to a power source, the adapter dissapears from Device Manager.

hi farzin2000,
Welcome to the Forums.
Can you try the following:
On the router:
1. Disable WMM (WiFi Multimedia)
2. Configure the the Wireless Security to use WPA / WPA2-PSK (AES)
3. Set the WiFi channel width to Auto (20/40 Mhz)
On the Wireless Card (Device Manager > Network Adapters > Wirelless card properties)
4. Uncheck the Turn off this device to save power
    - Sample image
5. Under the Advanced Tab, check if you have a WMM setting and set it to Disabled. For the other settings, check this thread.
On the PC side, ensure that the power settings is set to High Performance. Once done, navigate to www.speedtest.net to test the WiFi speed and perform a continuous ping on a command prompt and observe if it's stable or not.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi,I have been facing an issue with my Realtek RTL8723BE WiFi  adapter for over a month. After using it for a while, I am unable to connect to the internet. The status of the connection says 'No Internet Access'. After running the Troubleshooter, it says 'One or more network protocols are missing on this computer'. This issue doesn't rectify itself unless i restart the device. To fix this, I have updated the device driver software to version 2023.23.1030.2015 and even after the update, the issue seems to persist. The only way I'm able to connect to the internet is using the Ethernet cable.I have tried several methods given on the internet to recify the issue and nothing seems to work. I have tried running thenetsh int ip reset resetlog.txtcommand after fixing the Registry as shown in the video https://youtu.be/G3DpeeXLSDM but it didn't work. I also followed all the instruction in the video https://youtu.be/HJyBaP3AC74 and the issue still persists. Now when i run the Troubleshoot software, it says it couldn't indentify the problem. Now I'm totally unable to use WiFi on my Laptop. I would appreciate if you guys could help me out! Thanks in Advance!Adithya

I have had this problem with intermitent wireless. I had to call HP who gave me some instructions which did not reslove the problem like going into power managment, then I got a call who remote assistance took over, and used Advanced system care, (HP Support) that didnt fix the problem either. The wirless keeps cut out. from various forums I have seen that Lenovo and others who use the Realtek with WIndows 10 have this issue and it has not been resolved. I feel HP should take the laptop back as it is only months old, and from day one I have experienced tis problem. I dodnt think I will ever buy HP again. They havent been able to fix it and from all the forums it does appear that this is a known issue which no one want to address.

I have been having real issues with the computer locking up for several week.  It looked like a driver issue, but all the updates and 4 fresh Windows installs in the last 4 week failed to help.  It would typically freeze 3 or 4 times per hour and alt-ctl-delete could not save it. Some observations:- sometimes if I watched the wifi indicator I noticed just before a crash that the signal was lost.  If I rushed to device manager, I could disable the adapter and re-enable so the crash was prevented.- sometimes the device manager said there was no driver installed for this device, yet I was on wifi only moments before. Ready to throw the computer in the trash, but then I saw my old HP laptop which overheated 'til it died.  I stole the wifi adapter out of it and swapped out the Realtek.  The old Qualcomm Atheros AR8295 adapter is working like a charm...3 solid days without a freeze, but I no longer have Bluetooth.  The only puzzling thing is that the old computer had 2 wire leads to the adapter, while this p168ca has only 1 wire. Did I find the real issue?  How do I get a new replacement adapter?  Is there a better "upgrade" adapter?

A:Realtek RTL8723BE Network Adapter Issues

Hi: I would agree with you that the wifi card is the root cause of your dilemma. HP has this nasty habit of only installing one antenna on notebooks with single band wlan cards, so your only other option would be to get another card with only one terminal. Upgrading to a dual band card is a no-go unless you are willing to take the whole notebook apart including the display panel area to run a 2nd antenna. Now, is the Realtek bluetooth card bad, or does it just have a problem with W10? Therein lies the question.

Dear friends,Since I have upgraded to windows 10, I have observed that my wifi signal is too weak. Therefore, I have been doing some research as well as installing and uninstalling different sets of drivers and my issue is not solved. Now, I seem to have found the problem. The problem is that the RTL8723BE chip is designed to be connected to two antenas. Some manufacturers, however, use only one antena with this chip, and our problem lies in this. Now on windows 8.1, the driver knows that in Yoga 2.13 we have only one WIFI antena and it uses the antena that exists. But on windows 10 (even if i retrieve to windows 8.1, it updates itself to windows 10 automatically), the driver is not configured correctly to work with one antena instead of the default two. Therefore, the signal is too weak. Now, I have contacted lenovo support in Germany, but they seem not to be willing to help with the driver issue. What should we do? Any ideas?

3 month old HP notebook (8.1) suddenly stopped connecting to wifi shortly after buying (multiple sources, tablet and phone both connect fine). I have tried system restore, reinstalling windows deleting and reinstalling the driver but the problem persists. I get about two weeks of normal function before I am forced to wipe my laptop clean again and frequently have to perform a system restore in order to connect to the internet. The problem appears to be linked to automatic updates but since I can only put them off for so long the problem persists. I have tried uninstalling updates in order to pinpoint which ones may be causing the probllem.I have noticed this appears to be common with HP laptops.. the basic error message is "there is a problem with wireless adaptor" and later on "hardware changes may have been detected". But like I say I can no longer perform a troubleshoot without blue screen appearing. The laptop works fine on ethernet (network cable unplugged appears alongside wifi errors) but considering I rarely have access to ethernet at university this isnt a fix for me. In the beginning I could diagnose (and even fix) the problem with windows troubleshooter but now I am faced with either the problem persisting (could not be fixed error) or more frequently, as of late, the irql_not_less_or_equal (rlt.sys) blue screen appearing halfway through the process. The problem appears to be getting worse. Also system restore or reinstalling no longer fixes the problem im... Read more

I have a Lenovo AIO PC which is less than a year old suddenly the WIFI will not connect giving the error "Can't connect to Network". Several other devices in the house connect fine and as far as I can tell nothing has changed not even a recent WIN 10 Update that i can see.

I ran a netsh in CMD and it showed the error as "FAILURE REASON: The driver disconnected while associating."

I then went to the Realtek site and downloaded and installed the latest drivers for this WIFI Adapter but it made no difference to the outcome.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

So I just bought my new Sony MDR-ZX550BN bluetooth headphones and tried connecting it with my HP Notebook. First I connected it with my Galaxy S6 Edge+ and an iPad Air 2 and the sound was flawless. After that, I decided to try and connect it via bluetooth with my HP laptop. The pairing was successful but the sound was stuttering. I was searching for solution online and I found something. The Wi-Fi was causing it. I tried a couple of solutions without any success so I turned my Wi-Fi off and the sound was flawless. I found out that the Realtek Wi-Fi Adapter on my laptop was causing it, but I just don't know what to do with that information? I tried updating it in my Device Manager but it said that it was already updated. Searched for Realtek website but the website was down or something. By the way, I just paired a Microsoft Designer bluetooth mouse and it is working 'OK'. Means that I can see some minor lags here and there but nothing too much. Also, when I turn my Wi-Fi off, it's working like charm. Can anyone help me please?

The download speed on my desktop was at 16 Mbps.  So...I purchased a new wireless router and tested the speeds again on my H50-50.  The download speed should have been close to 60 Mbps.  All of the other computers/laptops have download speed around 60.  I checked for LAN card drivers updates (Realtek RTL8723BE).  I updated the driver 3 times, from (k2wlg16us14) to 2023.10.0415 (u4wlg04us17) to 2023.49.1215.
The best download speed I can get is 15 Mbps.  The wifi connection is lost upon waking up from sleep even though the "Allow the computer to turn off this device" is not checked.
Question: do I have the latest driver? And if I do, why is my speed so slow with the best driver?

After an update for windows failed during the installation process, I have been having problems with the wifi adapter.  I didnt have a strong signal while the update was installing due to my computer being outside and I think it was interrupted or something. I reinstalled the driver, reset the bios settings after a reboot, tried system restore and still no results. Could it be a card issue?

Hi, I would be replace the wireless card installed on my HP 15-ac622nl (Realtek RTL8723BE), with another one that supports 802.11ac protocol. Is there a list of compatible wireless module? and if yes....where can I find it? In the manual I see only three wireless card:- Broadcom BCM43142- Realtek RTL8188EE- Realtek RTL8723BE (currently installed)...but all support only 802.11 b/g/n protocol. So, I've tried a card "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265, 2230, 2 x 2 AC + B"  but didn't worked: at start on the screen appear an error like this "Wireless Module not supported"....  :-(Now, I'm here to ask you if an "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC WiFi e Bluetooth Card 3165NGW" may will work or not.Thank you

Hello, so few days ago i just got this laptop and it has a lot of issues.First of all, when you go to sound configuration, there's only a STEREO option, nothing for 2.1 or etc.(i had a dell L702X also with jbl speakers - it scalled to 5.1)Also, when i plug external 2.1(2 speakers with bass) - only one option - stereoTried lots of drivers - didn't work.(even updating BIOS and latest drivers didn't work)No configurations in Dolby Digital Plus or Realtek HD manager eitherSecondly, wifi is working awfully bad. It has a super unstable ping.At one moment you've got 35ms in games, at other - over 300.Downloading speed is jumping and much slower when on my Phone and other PC's.No option for IEEE 802.11N - only b and b/gTried drivers from net, tried drivers which i can get from windows driver center(in pc).Guys, any ideas? Fixes? Went through this forum and NOTHING helped for my sittuation

Here's the Manual, see p. 61.  Manual Replacing the wireless card is not easy but you say you have already done it once. Was there one or 2 antennae? If only one your options are very limited to 1 x 1 cards. You have no whitelist so the system will boot and run with any wireless card of the same form factor.  The Ralink and Realtek cards offered by HP are not really good hardware but about the best you can do if you have a single antenna.  This is what you want to get, the Holy Grail, if you have 2 antennae: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-Ac-Hmc/dp/B00DMCVKMU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=14874554... Post back with any more questions.  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

I am having some issues with my wifi on my personal laptop, and I would need if possible some advice

- Base OS : Windows 10
- hardware wifi : Realtek RTL8723BE Wireless LAN 802.11n
- Driver 2023.30.0301.2016 (Latest version was installed before reinstalling my base os)
- Motherboard : wmic baseboard get product,Manufacturer, version, serialnumber gives me LENOVO y50-70 does not make a lot of senses for me, but otherwise I just get the serial number and version

Problem Description
My wifi is very unstable, I can connect to the router, sometime it works properly, some time I don t internet connection. The error i get can be DNS resolution or web site not reachable.
I get the same problem with different routers
Interesting and make investigation very difficult for me is that I almost don t get any events

the only events related that I get sometime is 3 WLAN Auto Config (Errors)
EventID 40003
Description WLAN Autoconfig detected limit connectivity, performing Reset/Recover,adapter
code1 0xC 0x4
code2 0xDEADDEED oxEEC (really did not like this one as i believed I was being pwned, but looks like it is the drivers that return that)
Code 8 0x0 0x0

Usually it happens once when I reboot, and I get informational WLAN auto config entry saying that it went well, so I don t think it is the problem.
From there, it changes between working and not working
The only other event I get are for example warning because DNS failed, but it makes sense to me.
What I have done:

A:Lenovo y50, Unstable wifi, Potential faulty hardwar Realtek RTL8723BE

I did some searching and came across other people having the same issue with that specific model wifi chip. Some of them have gotten it to work by either A: enabling their router's IPV6 or setting the IPV6 to auto, or B: checking that the antenna wire connected to the wifi chip in the computer isn't loose. By no means a guarantee, but worth a shot.

I have a Toshiba satelite A30 with a Realtek ac97 audio device.
The audio has been working fine for a few years now, but has recently been producing poor quality sound, like it is saturated.
I have been playing with sound volume, have reinstalled the latest drivers as well as the latest version of directX, but still experience the same problem.
I have also checked if there was a hardware conflict, but nothing shows...

can it be that the hardware is damaged, and i need to buy an external sound card or can this be solved otherwise?

thanks for anyone's help.

A:Realtek ac97 audio - poor quality sound

impossible to buy an external sound card for a laptop. Did you recently update any software or drivers?

I recently set up a ftp server running on my new 10/10 (mbit) fiber line and i've been noticing some speed problems.

Both over FTP aswell as Http transferee protocols I've been noticing upload (others downloading from m server) being slow capping at aprox 200kb/sec, However when i use a program such as SKype to send my files to my buddies it goes up to 800-850kb/sec (yes the same people who downloaded for 200 from ftp/http.

Now i was wondering if there is possible to fix so the ftp server uses maximum bandwith aswell?

any help appreciated

I just installed sprint dsl today, decided to check my speeds and found out they were really low, compared to what they advertised, for instance 265download as opposed to 500, i checked my distance from the CO and i am 1.3 miles so that cannot be the problem, i have double checked my connections splitters, filters etc, and still to no avail, i tried using the TCPoptimizer and when it recommended i change my mtu to 576 i gave up on that, as you know by now i have not tweaked my os, i will be grateful for any resources you guys can give, recommended software tweaks or manual registry entries anything at all.

800Mhz intel chipset
256 ram
sprint {supplied} dsl modem

A:Poor Dsl Speed...help!!!

First off, make sure that your interior wiring is optimal, I'd personally run a direct connection from the telco terminal point to your modem using good twisted pair wire, and put a single filter on the other leg that goes to all the telephone equipment. Poor wiring and multiple filters will degrade the DSL connection significantly.
