Will a T61 with middleton BIOS support an Intel Wireless-AC 7265 wifi and bluetooth card?

Q: Will a T61 with middleton BIOS support an Intel Wireless-AC 7265 wifi and bluetooth card?

Upgrading several T61s both with CPUs and WIFI cards. Have some with bluetooth some not. Bluetooth card is inside display screen and would prefer to leave that alone. Was looking at replacing current b/g wifi cards with a faster one and if possible a combo wifi and bluetooth card. Will install middleton BIOS to get around whitelist. Will be running Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 Ultimate in the T61s1. Will the Intel Wireless-AC 7265 cards work with both wifi and bluetooth in the T61s?2. Can I somehow disable either the existing bluetooth adapters or the bluetooth in the 7265 cards so I do not get conflicts with 2 bluetooth adapters.I am assuming I can download the drivers for the new adapters from the internet.

Preferred Solution: Will a T61 with middleton BIOS support an Intel Wireless-AC 7265 wifi and bluetooth card?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Yes it can.  Windows 10 caused problems for me - but roll the driver back to 17.13.11.5 and the wifi hotspot sharing is possible again.

Hi I upgraded my home routers to AC 5ghz so i decided to upgrade my laptop's built in 300mbs wifi to modern standards.the wifi works great at full speeds consistently the bluetooth only works after a full power cycle.if you goto sleep mode or hibernate and power back on bluetooth no longer exists.I have spoken to online chat here and i have spent hours and days trying clean instal of windows 10 pro and upgrade/downgrade of the drivers etcI have even purchased another adapter and it gives me the exact same problem.I have read 100's of forums and one thing that strikes me is a whitelist for biosis this item on the whitelist or not - is there something i can do before i get really cross with this laptop.ThanksPaul

This is an "all-in-one" post. Recently, my trusty T61p started getting Blue Screens of Death (BSOD) with the following message:DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQAL in sysnetwlv64.sys This has been frequently reported as a complication of Windows 8.1 (only) when installing the Intel drivers for the 3945 and 4965 WiFi cards.  Both Intel and Microsoft state that these cards, plus the 5200 are no longer supported, but the 6200, 6300, etc. are. Suggested remedies are:1. For the T61's, reflash with the Middleton BIOS (2.29 plus mods - no white list, SATA 2 works).  Then install a more recent WiFi card that has supported drivers for Win 8.1.2. Change cards in both the T60 and T61s to the IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad 11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter 42T0825 (this is an Atheros AR5008 5418 AR5BXB72). In recent posts I have seen about Win 10, the old Intel drivers that used to work for Win 8.0 (but didn't in 8.1) appear to work in Win 10.  (However, since it is still before July 29, I can only assume this is in preview versions, not RTM).  If anyone has actually in installed the Win 10 RTM and had no problems, this whole thing may be a "non-issue".  Is there any experience with this? If I follow the remedies suggested above:1. Using the replace the card approach with the Middleton BIOS, what is a good card to get?  The other benefit of the Middleton BIOS is to allow the harddrives in the T-61's as SATA 2 instead of the dumbed-down SA... We have a big issue with Intel Dual Band Wireless AC-7265 driver, When used WPA2-Enterprise profiles pushed by Windows GPO, the wifi card authenticates every second using PMKSA. It is a authentication storm that we see in our wifi APs.This does not happen with Intel AC-7260 tested in more than 400 PCs, different HP models but most of them EliteBook 840 G1, or when the profile is manually created (not pushed from a AD GPO).This issue happens only with EliteBook 840 G2 using 7265 card, only with it. Right now, we have this card in all the last delivered HP Elitebook 840G2.We've tried HP original drivers (HP connection Manager), the Intel last drivers with and without PROset (removing previously HP Connection Manager), and some old Intel drivers too, always with the same result. We know the "every second" authentication happens because we have monitored the WIFI netwok with a "monitor" mode card. The  starting outgoing packets are always originated by the 7265 driver. Also, we see the authentication in the wifi APs (enterprise Netgear APs), because we have syslog, and the any Intel 7265 card that connects, starts sending the 4 way handshake for PMKSA (PEAP 25) wifi L2 proto.

A:EliteBook 840 G2 and Wifi Intel AC-7265 issue

We have the similar issue on some particular machines with 2.4 Ghz with the particular network adapter. Working on 5 Ghz there are no issues observed. probably we will send the faulty laptop back to HP for repairs.

Hello, I have an HP Envy which came with Windows 10, and has an Intel 7265 WiFi adapter. I started the setup and was able to see the WiFi connections and connect to two - home and office. Once all the updates completed, I typically used it between the two WiFi locations - both work great. However on a trip, I tried connecting to another WiFi and have since tried about 6 different options and all fail - the "Connecting" message shows and then disappears and no connection has been made. The different WiFi devices include a 2Wire, Dlink Access Points, Cisco Enterprise Access Points, a three different phone based hotspots. All do the same. Debugging steps:1) Update driver. HP's site has a March 2016 driver.2) Installed the Intel AC-7265 driver from 9/20/2016.3) Change settings to switch preferred band to 2.4 GHz and also to 5 GHz and neither make a difference - the Enterprise DLink and Cisco devices work at both frequencies.4) Changed the 801.11 channel widths to 20 MHz only.5) Changed "wireless mode" in the driver to 802.11 a, then g, then a/g and back to the default a/b/g. Did all of the above with the firewall on Bitdefender turned off. None of these worked, so figured I would post here, to see if maybe someone else has had something similar and did get a resolution. Any assistance is appreciated.

Issue:  At startup Windows 10 x64 shows my wireless card is enabled and shows multiple available networks nearby including the one I use.  But Windows will not automatically connect to my network.  Yes I have correctly entered password and enabled "Connect automatically" checkbox each time.  If I click on that connection it connects so clearly the password is stored.  But at next startup the connect appears in my list but does not connect. This issue has persisted for at least 2 months through multiple lenovo and windows updates.  I have completely uninstalled the wireless card and removed the drivers.  I have uninstalled the Intel PROset app via "Add Remove Programs".  I have reinstalled the latest available PROset driver from lenovo 20.10.2.  Yet the problem persists.

I was wondering if anyone is having the same issue I am having. I have a HP Envy m7-n101dx notebook with an Intel ac 7265 dual band wireless adapter running 64bit Windows 10.  The wifi speed is very poor. I have an arris surfboard 6900ac modem/router. I have 300 mb/s internet service. Wired the modem gets about 350 mb/s. On wifi on the 5gz band I have a macbook that regulary gets 180-240 mb/s speeds. I also have a 5 plus year old macbook that gets 150-180 mb/s speeds. Our phones get 100-150 mb/s speeds. But this computer usually only gets about 50-80 mb/s speeds. Often it can dip below those speeds. If I open my router to 8 channels, the speeds will drop to about 8 mb/s.  Very rarely will it get upto 100 mb/s speeds. But it never gets close to the speeds it is rated to get.  I was wondering if anyone was having the same problem and if they have a solution? I have updated drivers, rolled drivers back, dowloaded directly from the intel site, and deleted and reinstalled the network adapter. Nothing has worked.

I used dell to detect my system and then recommend drivers.  It recommended an update for my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.  My current driver is version 18.33.3.2.  Dell recommended an update to 18.40.0.9. However, the file that actually downloaded is for version 18.20.0.9 (Network_Driver_VJY7Y_WN32_18.20.0.9_A01.EXE - this is how it shows in my windows explorer).  I guess it could just be a mislabeling by someone and it is the newest version.  But the system detects that it is at least listed as being older than my current version and stops the install.

Dell should correct this.  Do you know if there is actually an update to my version?  Link to driver page below:

A:Wrong driver for Intel 8260/7265/7260/3165/3160 WiFi Driver

There could be but we would need to know what computer you are running.  You can also go to downloads.dell.com, select your computer and it will show a list of every driver available for every operating system compatible with your system.

Hi all,My T460p came with a 8260NGW, FRU 00JT530, and it is a vPro part.I had it replaced with a 9260NGW, but while the card worked fine, the AMT menu (and prompt for the configuration shortcut at boot menu) disappeared.I did a bit more research and found there are actually two different FRU's, one is vPRO (01AX771) the other isn't (01AX769 ).The first 9260 was indeed a non vPRO part and as such I replaced it with my 8260 (after my motherboard was replaced) while I ordered a vPRO part (01AX771). AMT was back in the bios menu with the 8260 (note: also new motherboard), but as soon as I replaced it with the 01AX771 part (vPRO) it is gone again.Anybody cares to explain or advise on the topic? Thanks!

I have just installed a new SSD on the T61, installed Windows 10 and no other software other than Firefox at the moment. The error message is specific to BitLocker and wants same disabled. I have inspiron 14 5000 series. it's like every other day there is in update for these driver and i have been trying to install it. It says successful afterwards but when i check again in a day or 2 there a new update again. It's the same driver that was updated in august 2017. I'm not sure what is going on.

This is what I get whenever I try to install it manually. I chose 'repair'.
after all that. I checked again it says there's an update available for that particular driver.

This slows down my browser. I'm not sure if this is normal.
Please help.

Am looking for a hardware solution: Pavilion DV7 1270 usUPGRADED TO WIN 10  64bit from WIN 7 64bit My current WIFI Wireless/Bluetooth card is an INTEL WIFI LINK 5100 agn. ( Original card) This is NOT SUPPORTED in Win 10... WIFI  no longer works. There are no solutions offered in HP Web assistance or via INTEL or MICROSOFT. I would simply like to find a compatible(upgrade) card that works in this system  with WIN 10? The card is accessible and replaceable ( in RAM Bay... as i remember) INTEL no longer supports this card (to and through win 10) HP Laptops are notoriously finicky with WIFI card replacements...? Short of adopting a usb dongal WIFI/BLUETOOTH option, I would like to effect an internal upgrade to the original card... seems simple enough? Thank You for whatever guidance you might afford

A:after win 10 upgrade, intel wifi link 5100 no longer support...

Hi: You may be able to get the card to work if you fiddle with some of the advanced settings on the advanced tab for the card in the device manager. I have 3 HP business notebooks...one has the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3965ABG card, one has the Intel Intel WiFi Link 4965AG card, one has the Intel WiFi Link 5300 wireless card. The first two I didn't have to do anything to make them work. The 5300...device is present in the device manager saw wireless networks but would not connect when I clicked connect. I went into the advanced settings tab and I think I enabled WMM and the card works just fine and has so ever since. Try tweaking one of the settings in the advanced settings tab. I wish I remembered exactly which setting I changed that made it connect. I was ticked off, so I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing. Could not understand why two older cards worked perfectly and the newer one wouldn't. Changing the wireless card would be extremely problematic as you are limited to just the cards listed in the service manual and half the time the ones listed in the manual cause the notebook not to boot up until the card is removed. Also, if you can't get the Intel 5100 to work, you can forget any of the others listed working on W10. I am very sure that changing one of those advanced settings will allow the 5100 card to work.
