I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The noise started coming about a week ago. It wasn't that loud, but I would sometimes hear a vibrating sound coming from the fan of my Lenovo G555. Sometimes it would stop. But if I ever moved it, the vibrating noise would come back. But today, the noise got really loud and it wouldn't stop this time unless I shut it down or something. Why is this? Is there any solutions to get this fixed, too?

A:Lenovo G555 fan making loud noise

As you are experiencing loud noise from the system.

To diagnose, I would suggest you to please update update the Bios of  your system from the below mentioned web link.

After that please check if the issue resolved.

Two part question... G555 setup as originally purchased. Win7, 32-bit, AMD Athlon M320 duo-core CPU.  In Windows control panel when I look at specifications it tells me that the CPU will run 64-bit OS. If I install Win7 64-bit will I need to change any pin settings on the motherboard, or upgrade BIOS?  As well,  I've read where the motherboard will handle CPU upgrades. I'm considering going to an AMD Turion II Duo M540. So, same questions as above... board setttings need changing, BIOS upgrade?  Thanks,  Wayne

I bought this laptop 5 years ago and it stopped working within 3 months. I gave up on fixing it after no one gave a viable solution. I found this place and now would like to ask for help regarding my problem.

The laptop switches on and functions well, except the screen does not turn on at all. Any fixes?

Laptop model is Lenovo G555.

All, I bought a G555 a few days ago and aside from trying to figure out how to copy the recovery partition to a new, bigger HDD (doesn't look like I can - will experiment with creating my own recovery partition on the new HDD [although, I prefer to use Windows Backup & Restore anyway]), I have also been trying to figure out if I can upgrade the RAM in this machine. Not a big deal if I can't - I just like to know the limits of the system. So I looked into the following and what I see is this: * AMD Athlon II X2 is a 64-bit CPU and can support >4GB RAM* Lenovo Bali motherboard with AMD785GX/SB700 chipset can support >4GB RAM* Windows 7 64-bit certainly can support the full capability of 64-bit memory space And yet, the docs I find online all say "4GB max RAM".  Why?  If the hardware supports 8GB, why would the docs imply that limit?  Is there something about the RAM sockets or the motherboard that I am missing? Thanks! Edit to add - I would just try it but given the price point of a 4GB stick, it's not exactly cheap to be wrong...

It had been there to a small extent previously but is really bad now. I saw that there was a BIOS update posted as a fix in a previous thread but the link is now dead. Does anyone have any ideas on where I couldd find one of those or any other fixes? Thanks very much.

I would try resetting the BIOS using the jumper, or by taking out the CMOS battery, wait a minute or two, and then replace it and try booting up. See page 73 of the Hardware Maintenance Manaul linked below for location of the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper (# 20) https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/m83m93p_hmm.pdf Clearing the CMOS (BIOS)1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer. 2. Remove the computer cover. 3. Locate the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper on the system board. 4. Move the jumper from the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2) to the maintenance position (pin 2 and pin 3). 5. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. 6. Turn on the computer and leave it on for approximately 10 seconds. Then, turn off the computer by holding the power switch for approximately five seconds. 7. Repeat step 1 through step 2. 8. Move the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper back to the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2). 9. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. Good Luck,

Hey all. Got windows 7 on my g555, with truecrypt on the drive, if it matters.  Last night, closed down the cover of my laptop before i fell asleep, like always, today it doesn't respond at all when I opened it back up.  Forced it to shut down, and haven't seen anything but a black screen since. The power light comes on, the fan comes on, and that's about it.  Can't get to the bios, can't do ANYTHING.  Tried unplugging it for a while, pressing power 10 times, holding power down for a minute, ran the battery entirely dry THEN discharged the caps, ...I've read many solutions where its the built up static charge that's the problem, but not here.  I've tried all versions of the solution I could find, all very similar, but none worked.  I took out my RAM and put it back in, and same for the hard drive.  No dice. The only lights I get at all are the power light, and the battery charging light next to it.  Can't get the CAPS LOCK, num lock, any of that to do anything.  Cannot boot by CD/DVD as I cannot change the bios, and can't get any response from any keys or key combos that I can think of (including the one-touch restore). Any advice?  What can I try here to get this sucker going again?

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

I recently purchased a Lenovo H30-05 but have now realised the Power Supply is not enough to support the NVIDIA GeForce 750 Ti (this would have been obvious if I had checked and found out  it was 65w before purchasing but, long story, I didn't).

I'm wondering if it is possible to add an internal PSU which would cope (e.g. 300W+) as there is no 20-pin connector on the Motherboard? I see the 4-pin connector and obviously the socket where the power lead connects on the back but just wondered if a regular ATX PSU would suffice if I connect the 4-pin to the Motherboard?

Hi. My Z50-70 laptop has Samsung DDR3 PC-3 12800 (800mhz) ram. I'm not able to find this ram anywhere on the web. Also, I'm seeing DDR3L PC-3 12800 (1600mhz) rams available. Your memory spec is:PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L If you see 800 MHZ in CPU-Z, multiply by 2 to get the transfer rate. You can refer to Z50-70 hardware maintenance manual for tested brand, basically the max RAM supported is 2x8 GB PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600) and to enable dual channel, be sure to use the same brand and chipset for both modules or just get a sold "matched-pair" or 16GB-2x8GB bundled modules.

A:Lenovo g50-45 ram upgrade

hi mislam13,

Welcome to the Forums.

If you have the G50-45 (Beema) then an 8Gb upgrade will be ok as this system comes with 2 SODIMM slots and the max memory can be up to 16GB DDR3L.(1.35v).

Lenovo G40/50 AMD Specs

In addition, your system is likely configured with 4GB+2GB so you just have to change the 2GB with a 4GB to pump it up to 8GB (you can verify this by looking under the hood).

Hi Manojkumargiri,

Welcome to the Forums

As per the query we understood that you are looking for the RAM upgrade for your Lenovo G50-45 laptop.

As per the specification of the system this model has 2 SODIMM slots, try to swap the RAM and check. This is to verify if the RAM slot is faulty. Also try to reseat the RAM and check for the issue.

Hope this helps. Do post back if the issue persists!

A:Lenovo G50-80 upgrade

Hi publicorders ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

In term of the RAM upgrade based on your product specifications:
16GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets
So that you can maximize it (2 x 8GB) or simply get another similar 4 GB for 8GB sweet spot.

Recommended OEM parts on FRU listing item 12 page 80 of the hardware manual.

WIth regards to the CPU upgrade is not posible as it is soldered on the systemboard as BGA (ball grid array) similar to i5-5200U.

Hope this help answer your query.

Hi Alex_Bond,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It would be helpful if you have the specific machine number from the sticker or to check the MTM machine model type here on the parts look up page.

As per specifications from the hardware manual page 26-28:
RAM: DDR3L, 1066MT/s,1333MT/s
Standard memory: DDR3L, SODIMM 1 / SODIMM 2 (max 8 GB / 16 GB)

Product specification for G50 models:
N2830 / N3530 models: 8GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, one 204-pin SO-DIMM socket, system automatically clocks down for 1333MHz DDR3 memory controller
Other models: 16GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets

Recommended RAM listed on FRU on item 12 page 80 of the hardware manual.
Those are OEM certified RAM that you can order as Micron DDR3L (low voltage) 1600 may also work as it matches base specification as Part number 11201304, MT16KTF1G64HZ listed among the FRU.

Hope this help answer your query.

A:Lenovo g50-80 ALL upgrade

Hi Robinburn,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As per specifications, you can upgrade the RAM :
16GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets

The graphic chip however is not upgradable since it is soldered on the motherboard.

Looking at the minimum specs of PUBG:
OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10Processor: Intel Core i3-4340 / AMD FX-6300Memory: 6 GB RAMGraphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB / AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GBDirectX: Version 11Network: Broadband Internet connectionStorage: 30 GB available space

It would be best to invest on a gaming laptop or better yet a desktop to enjoy the game.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards

Can i use this DDR3L Kingston 4GB (1600) (KVR16LS11/4)1.35V to upgrade my laptop, and does it have 2slot for Ram?

A:Upgrade Ram for Lenovo Z40-70???

Hi iceheart12 .

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Your DDR3L Kingston 4GB (1600) (KVR16LS11/4)1.35V  is an exact upgrade for your pc.

System Specification for RAM upgrade  (location page 37)

16GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets  .

You can maximize it up to total 16 GB  (2 X 8GB) similar to this.

On related threads
recommended lenovo part number :
Part number of RAM: 11202707, 11202080 (8GB RAM), 11202125, 11202081, 11202706 (4GB RAM).

Lenovo motheboard are non brand specific and are universal so that you may have a choice where to get it for as long as you keep the same recommended Specs  and works seemless on a DDR3L .

Hope this answered your query.

I was wondering if I could upgrade my H50-50 intel core i5-4460,8gb ram and GTX 745 with the new GTX 1050ti?I'm not sure because the 1050ti is a dual slot card.Nvidia says that the recommended power supply is a 300w,which I have on this PC.

A:Could i upgrade my Lenovo H50-50 with the new GTX ...

It would probably have to be a short (mini) version of the card like the one linked below, in order to fit in the case, but the mini will definitely fit.         Your system probably just has a 280w PSU, but if Nvidia says a 300w PSU is all that is needed, you can probably get away with the stock 280w PSU.     You can also upgrade the PSU if needed, but you would need a 24pin to 14pin power adapter to adapt the standard PSU to the Lenovo motherboard. EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GAMING, 04G-P4-6251-KR, 4GB GDDR5, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487290&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KN... The videos below are by a kid in the UK who upgraded a H50-50 with a different GPU and also a new PSU, but he does a very good job of showing what needs to be done to do so.    UPGRADING MY LENOVO H50 PSU/GPU 500W+GTX750TI (part 1)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BScjAJ7YuWM UPGRADING MY LENOVO H50 (GTX750TI+ 500W PSU) BETTER QUALITY (part 2)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2PU-Uitz0Y Good Luck,

I bought a new G50 (1EIN) series laptop with inbuilt 4 GB RAM. When I went to local Lenovo support for RAM upgrade they told me that my laptop will not support more than 6 GB of RAM. Even if we install a RAM more then 2 GB, the usable memory will be limited to 6 GB only. Pleas verify because the retailer who sold me this laptop was ready to upgrade my RAM upto 12 GB but I wanted to get my RAM installed with Lenovo officials.

A:lenovo g50-80 ram upgrade

Hi Heron1337,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Your G50-80 can support more than current 4GB up to maximum of 16GB.
Adding similar 4GB PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, on the two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets would allow you to have dual-channel capabilities for faster rate interaction.
