Recover deleted file without recovery softwares in windows7

Q: Recover deleted file without recovery softwares in windows7

Plz Help!!

I deleted a few files like a year ago.. i placed them in the program files of other software in C: . Eventually when i uninstalled that software the folder was gone. Is it possible to recover it in anyway??

Preferred Solution: Recover deleted file without recovery softwares in windows7

I recommend downloading and running DRP. It's a recovery tool that has been proven to recover files that most other programs have no luck with. I've even recovered files from freshly formatted or partitioned drives.

You can download it direct from this link http://goo.gl/v51TwD. (This link will automatically start a download of DRP that you can save to your computer.)

A year ago is a very long time. Most likely Windows has long since over written that area of the disk to a point that anything that you would get would be very incomplete and unuseable.

Ok so I apologize in advance if this story is a bit long, and horrifying (actually it's probably entertaining xD). I purchased the Lenovo y510p gaming laptop on back on July 14th 2014. I got the laptop, and it just didn't work for me. It didn't play the games I wanted it to, it had overheating issues, the keyboard had a really sharp edge making typing uncomfortable as well. After installing Sony Vegas and Avast, and just shifting some of my personal photos/music over, I made a backup of the laptop using the OneKey Recovery software. This backup was made to one of my 500GB external hard drives. So I then decided that I just didn't like the laptop, and it was time to return it. I called Newegg, and got my RMA all ready to go. Because I had lot of my personal files and programs, I decided the fastest way to delete everything would be to use the OneKey Recovery by Lenovo, and do a factory reset. At the time, I didn't think anything of this then simply putting the laptop back to exactly how I got it. I even booted it up after the factory reset, and it looked just like the first day I got it. Fast forward 2 weeks, and my RMA is denied from Newegg:   Your RMA (RMA Number: 60470880) return was received and sent to our Inspections Department for closer examination. 34-313-740 NB LENOVO IDEAPAD Y510P 59406636 RTSystem has been modified/altered original manufacturers operating system has been removed cannot access restore partition, this voids Newegg w... A:How to recover deleted "Recovery Partition"

If you only used One Key Recovery by Lenovo, it should not delete the partition. (I hope you did not format the whole system) Once you receive the laptop, you can check if this partition still exists in Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Disk Management. It should show some drives, other than the C: , D: and the SSD (if you have). Those drives are the recovery partitions. I can post a sample screenshot in the evening. Sadly, I do not know any way to recover that partition. As I have seen on this forum several people who lost that partition could not roll back their laptop to original settings without a recovery drive (which is different from a recovery backup).

After experiencing an error with windows, it wouldn't start up and said I was missing the hal.dll files, I fired up the windows recovery program. It worked like a charm, replaced windows and the hal.dll file, however all my folders with docs and pictures on the desktop that were there previously (which accumulated over years) were not there anymore. Is there any way to recover these missing folder and files? They weren't saved on the c: directly but only on the desktop. I tried system restore but it said there were no system recovery points I could recover from.
Does windows make a backup of these desktop files before it deletes them?
Please help anyone, thanks!

A:System recovery for xp deleted my personal files on desktop, can I recover them?

If the computer hasn't been used much since the recovery most of your files will be intact.

The tricky bit is getting them back. The only real way to retrieve your data is to remove the hard drive, plug it into another computer as a second drive and run a piece if recovery software over it.

The first two links are to free recovery software, the third is paid for - this one does work very well.

I have inadvertantly deleted a personal file (containing data and pictures files) from my laptop.I tried to use recovery programs to recover at least the pictures. I have recovered some of the files containing the pictures, but cannot open these pictures . When trying to open each picture (of the recovered ones) I've got the following note:"Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, ot its format is not currently supported"I checked the System Restore and found that a restore point is available to the date prior the delete. Can System Restore recover the deleted file?Note: The file was installed on the Desktop (before being deleted).I am using Windows XP ProThanks for your assitance.

A:Recover A Deleted File

The restore point may work for you, or it may not. Persoanlly, that's a tough call, because you risk erasing the deleted version where you can't retrieve it, and you risk the possibility that the restore point won't work, and at the same time, erased any possible chance of you recovering what was accidentally deleted. If possible, the best way you is to hook the hard drive in question to another computer as the slave. And then use the other computer to get the data off, because you stand the risk of that sector of the hard drive to be over-written with data if you add/install a program to the computer. It's not always true.. but that risk still exists. If you don't have access to another computer then you'll want to use a few FREE ones that are out there. Look in the Commercial FREEWare forum here on this site. Sorry, I forget the link right off hand. But whatever you do, don't keep deleting and (or) modifying the hard drive if you want your data back. By all means, just download what you need, and do as less installing/deleting on that computer as possible. And then again, if you feel that the Restore Point will bring back the data, then all I can say is go for it. But remember to weigh out your odds, no matter which route you take.a. connect the hard drive to another computer, and do it that way (safest known method)b. install a program(s) on the computer in question, and run it from there (risk/a workable method)c. Use the Windows Restore Point (ris... Read more

I've done a stupid stupid stupid thing and lost an important excel spreadsheet that I last used about two weeks ago. I've been having various performance problems (freezes/crashes) and was advised to run "Malwarebytes' anti-malware".

Before I did this, I backed up all my data to a CD-ROM and then deleted the files from my laptop. Then I went ahead and ran the software. The good news: my laptop seems to be behaving itself far better now. The bad news: somehow I seem to have missed this one file when backing up. I've got all my family photos, lots of stuff from work, even old stuff that I'll probably never need again but I thought "What the heck". Yet somehow, I've missed this one spreadsheet. I could kick myself!!

To make matters (probably) worse, I've run CCleaner a couple of times since then, as I was advised that it keeps the laptop clean. I've just looked at some settings there now and it's using "Normal" file deletion as opposed to "Secure", but "Wipe Free Space" is selected. Damn!

I only realised I'd lost the file last night and I have already downloaded some freeware utilities such as "Restoration" and "Undelete Plus", but none of these found the file.

Should I just give up now? Or is there some software that may find a file even after CCleaner has been run.

Grateful for any help.

I even made a new test, deleted an old copy of my pst located in the same folder and run all programas without making any changes in the hard drive and cannot view the pst file in the deleted file list.

Both files were deleted with shift+del and the size was 500Mb aprox. Runing Win XP.

A few days ago I think I deleted a folder (entitled "Scans") in "My Documents" folder. I tried "Recuva" and used all the different options to search (except, advanced). When files come up in the search, they are listed in numbers, like, 1a55t2r277z12, etc. rather than a name, like "Scans," the one I am looking for. Am I going about the search correctly, and if so, how do I idenfiy the folder I am looking for?

Hi again, I am trying to recover a Word doc that was accidentally deleted from a folder on my desktop a few minutes ago.

It did not go to the recycling bin and is not in my recent file list in Word.
It also did not come up in any searches I ran anywhere.

Anyone know of any sly ways to try to recover this?

Thanks alot!

A:Solved: Recover Deleted File

Firstly do NOT use the PC for anything. Every operation will overwrite the HDD locations of deleted files.

If it did not go into the recycle bin, then a deliberate effort was made to delete it in a manner to make it difficult to recover. Using the PC makes that even more difficult.

Ideally slave the hard drive in another PC, you should never attempt to recover a file on the same drive as it was deleted on (as the recovery software and file extraction will possibly overwrite the deleted file)

Then try PC Inspector from here:

It depends on the software. Most software that installs on XP will install on W7 also, though there are a few incompatible programs. Some programs will require running in compatibility mode. With Ultimate, it is also possible to use XP Mode, if you hardware supports it...although I don't know how useful that would be on a laptop.

Can a deleted file be recovered from an image/clone hard disk?

A:recover deleted file from image disk?

Welcome to the Board see7102!

Not sure I quite follow your question. You deleted a file from your hard drive, but had previously cloned the drive to another drive? If so, and the file existed when the clone was done then the file is still on the other drive (unless it was deleted there as well).

Or, did you make an image of the drive and saved the image file someplace? If you made an image, then you may be able to access the file from the image with out having to restore the image. For example Norton Ghost has Ghost Explorer, which will let you pull one file out of an image file. Other imaging programs likely have something similar, but I'm only familiar with Ghost 2003

What software was used to make the image?

Hello, I need help with recovering a file. When I signed into my Onedrive account, Windows Defender caught a virus. Therefore I quarantined it and deleted it. As I have a current investigation going about a few of my accounts (including Onedrive) being hacked, and being close to being able to prove who did this, I now realize that I should not have deleted the virus, as this is evidence that this hacker is also trying to access my other devices through a virus placed in my Onedrive account. Is there a way that I can determine what the name of this virus was, or to be able to find it again? AVG detected it instantly as well, but I ignored it in AVG and deleted it from Windows Defender. I do not see it anywhere in AVG or in Windows Defender anymore, and it is also not present in the event viewer under Windows Defender. Any help on this topic is appreciated. Thank you.

A:Please help! Recover deleted file from Windows Defender possible?

Comment from the Web 4 years ago.
Windows Defender — where are the Scan Results?
Obviously, you are able to see when it last ran by opening Windows Defender and looking at the last scan details on the bottom left. If it detected something, it would alert you and also log it in the 'History' section.
If you want to see more detailed logs, you can view them in Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > Windows Defender > Operational
It will show as 'information' for when it has ran, etc. If it has detected malware, etc. it will show as 'Warning' with a yellow warning sign and details of process, severity, etc. If it's stopped before completion it will also show under a yellow warning sign.

My wife was transfering filed from her desktop to her laptop via network connection and shared "My Computer" folders. She was working on her latop and thought she was viewing already transferred files on her laptop, when in realty she was still viewing her shared connection to her desktop. She began to delete some folders and files all word documents.

If we can, how do we recover these deleted files. I have checked with trash can on both systems and deleted files and folders are not there.

I looked up in the Microsoft file recovery tutorial and it specifically says that files deleted through a network connection are not recoverable. These files and folders must be sitting in some cache. Where are they and how can I get to them.

I don't know if this is the right section, but here goes:
1) plug your flash drive into your computer
2) 'Open' your Recycle bin by right-clicking on it, and selecting 'Open'
3) click on the file you want to recover (to select it), then right-click on the file, and select 'Restore'

This should restore the file that you want.

If you have already recovered it, meaning that a file name now shows if you view the contents of the stick, you may be out of luck.

Any recovery programs are attempting to recover files that are still deleted. (and re-deleting the recovered one is not going to work either).

A:URGENT HELP - Need to recover a file deleted from the recycle bin!!!

Hi Luke!

There are tools you can use to restore deleted files, but there's no guaranty that you'll be successful. To maximize your chances, stop using the computer. While you're using it, things are being written to the disk all the time and so a deleted piece of data can be overwritten.

Your best bet is to go to another computer, download one of the "recovery" tools and put it on a memory stick or a cd. Then run it on the PC with the deleted file from the cd.

An example of a freeware recovery program is "restoration".

Have you tried Recuva? They are many programs of this type but I trust Piriform (makers of Ccleaner). Whatever program you choose, do it fast! The longer you wait the more chance you have of overwriting the lost data so time is of the essence here. Use your machine as sparingly as possible until you try any recovery software. Of course, the simple fact of downloading any of the programs has the risk of overwriting your lost data.
