After combofix I get network internal error

Q: After combofix I get network internal error

Hi, my apologies as I don't think I'm following protocol exactly. Unfortunately I was doing some remote troubleshooting and won't get my hands on the computer till tomorrow. I was hoping to get a head start with any help someone may be willing to offer. The computer got some malware. I ran combofix and then after it completed, my ethernet card stopped working properly. I'm seeing internal error when I use ipconfig. Below are the logs for combofix. Thanks for your help

Preferred Solution: After combofix I get network internal error

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello,

I have the Netgear WNR3500 router and I am having issues with my internal network. I have three total computers. The server, my computer and a laptop. The problem is no computer can ping the server but the server can ping the computers. Also when I ping the router from my computer and laptop I get a ping about 8-9 ms on the server it goes <1 ms. Can someone please help?

A:Internal Network

The ping one way only usually means a firewall (on the server) is blocking.

Hey guys, having trouble getting XP to Update, well it did Update MSRT and failed on Flash as usual because I removed Flash.  The only thing I can think of that I changed was my Router settings to more aggressive, but it has not affected Windows 7?

This is the ms document on it: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/883820

I tried all the stuff they say there but none works.  I have SP3.

I am also being sent to this site, which don't look like it should.

I brought a computer from work, which uses a network/server called Citrix. Will my existing phone line, used in my computer, be able to use this port to access the Internet. Or, do I need to buy a regular internal modem? Are network modems different than say Winmodems, which I have in my home computer? Yes, the port configuration onwork computer is a different shape - it appears wider but my line still fits.

Thanks,

Paul K.

A:Network vs. internal modem

If I understand your question correctly, what is in your computer from work is a nic (network internet card) and is not to hook up phone lines to, it is to hook up ethernet cable and network computers or connect to a cable modem. If this is the case, it will not work

The following does not take the place of a good firewall like Free Zone Alarm from http://www.zonelabs.com.

Read about Windows Network Bondage and Rebinding Windows Internal Network and keeping your private information safe, by accessing and reading thoroughly the Shields Up site at http://grc.com/su-bondage.htm Before starting.

To Close all your ports to hackers, crackers and other knuckleheads here's how:

The trick is to Unbind (uncheck) everything but NETBEUI to Network Protocols like TCP/IP, and Hardware Transport features like Dial-Up Adapters and only bind Network Clients like Client for Microsoft Networks or Microsoft Family Logon to NETBEUI, not TCP/IP and Dial-Up Adapter. Done right, testing your ports on the Shields Up website will show all tested ports as Closed.

To start, you should only have Client for Microsoft Networks and/or Microsoft Family Logon, TCP/IP and Dial-up Adapter in the opening screen of the Network Control Panel as installed components if you're just a home user not on a LAN. Don't delete entries if more than this are present. The key is to unbind (uncheck) everything but NETBEUI from TCP/IP and Dial-Up Adapter. Your Configuration may vary to start.

Go into (open) the Network Control Panel (Start; Settings; Control Panel; Network); Double-click TCP/IP (and all Network Protocols and Hardware Transport services each in turn); Click the Bindings tab; Uncheck Client for Microsoft Networks and/or Microsoft Family Logon found there;... Read more

I am using a HP Mini 110 computer without a CD ROM or the ability to do a USB Boot!! I have no idea where to start... well I did enable the option in the bios haha.

I am looking to install Windows Server 2003 instead of XP Home. I am going to look on the internet some more but I am bound to have questions...

What would be the best way to do this?

I also have 2 other laptops with cd roms I can do the network boot install with. One running windows 7 professional and the other windows vista home premium.

This is my setup:

internet provided to whole building with connections in every room -> personal router in my room -> my PCs, Macs & printer

do you know how to set up my computers so that they can share files with each other and print to my network printer, but without being susceptible to being accessed from other computers in the building? I have my own netgear router. But at the moment, my shared folders are accessible by everyone in the building, so is my printer

If I set all the computers to automatically set ip by DHCP, they can access the net, but everyone in the building can access them (and my printer which requires a manual ip doesnt work). If I set all the computers to manual addresses (e.g. 192.168.1.14 ... 192.168.1.15 ... 192.168.1.16 etc.) they work with each other, the printer works, its secure, but I can't access the internet!

Is there a way to for example have my own internal network with manual ip addresses, while also being able to connect to the net?

A:how to set up an internal network in one room of a building?

Are you using the router as a router? Unless you are using it as a switch, and optionally as a wireless access point, I do not understand how anybody from the WAN side can access your LAN regardless of whether you use static IP configurations.

I went to play a computer game on LAN (it uses the IPX protocol) and it wasn't working properly.
Usually both computers have internal network number 00000000, frame type Ethernet 802.2, Network number 00000000

When I checked the settings, the Internal Network Number was 922333C3 or something like that.
I changed it back to 00000000 and tried the game. It didn't work so I restarted my computer. When I checked the Internal Network Number is was a different number than 00000000
It seems that every time I change it, it is being automatically changed to something else.

Yesterday I was messing around with Network Connections trying to set up a VPN so we could play the game over the internet. I am sure this has something to do with it but I can't figure out how.

Does anybody know how to set the number to 00000000 and have it stay that?

A:Solved: IPX Internal Network Number

I changed the Network numbers on both computers to 00000001 and the Frame type to Ethernet 802.2 and the 2 computers were able to communicate.
This is what I wanted to happen, but that still doesn't explain anything about why the Internal Network number changes automatically.

Hi guys, hope I'm not re-posting an old question; it seems like a common place question but I can't find an answer anywhere.

Recently we had Wind Mobile come into our town, and now the cheapest/fastest internet option available is their mobile hotspot (12Mbps, unlimited downloading, $30). Only problem is that it doesn't (to the best of my knowledge) work with a router. So, is there any way to have the household computers set up to connect to the internet, while still maintaining an internal network for file transfer/wireless printer connections?

Hi

I assume that you have a router and that your household computers are connected together at the moment?

If that is the case then I would leave your setup as it is and then follow the instructions in the link below to setup Internet Connection Sharing. (The host PC will be the one with the dongle attached )

I'm having problems with my two computer systems communicating with each other. My internet works fine for the direct connection, but the other it will not work. Both systems have Windows XP. When I ping the other systems I have on average 25% loss or so. When I try and connect to a web page on the other system it will see the web page but when it goes to download it goes extremely slow and will error out after a minute with the cannot find server screen. I have updated the drivers for both nics. One is onboard my asus motherboard, a sis900 10/100 chip. The other computer has a netgear fa311 nic. They can see each other in network neighborhood but if you try and browse or copy files it will lock up explorer... Have tried everything I can think of have also changed network cables... If anyone has any ideas would be much appreciated =) Here are my full system specs for both systems:

I've been dealing with this issue off and on for a while so I'm hoping somebody knows how to fix this! I have a Lenovo Ideapad Z575. I recently installed a clean copy of Win7 Home premium 64 bit and was able to update all drivers except for the wireless lan one which I downloaded from the Lenovo site. There are no warning/caution symbols in the device manager except for bluetooth.

The problem I have is twofold. First I have been experiencing intermittent connectivity with the wireless connection itself. In some cases it shows no networks available even though I have a phone, other computer, roku, etc that are all connected to the network no problem. Disabling and re-enabling the device through adapter properties will usually "fix" it so that I can connect but it's really annoying. I had disabled the power saving option and that didn't seem to help any.

The more pressing issue now is that I can't even update the driver because I get an error that says "Driver install/uninstall need your Wireless Adapter to be inserted into your PC. Please make sure your Wireless Adapter is in your PC." It's an internal wireless card so I have no idea what the issue is. The available networks icon with the yellow star in the system tray will flash that there is a network available for a few seconds but then it has been changing back to no networks found before I can even connect. The card properties show its a Ralink TEchnology 802.11n wireless card in pci sl... Read more

Quick update -

After searching around online it sounds like this is a common problem with this laptop/wireless card. I'm not the most knowledgable guy about this stuff, but would upgrading the wireless card fix the problem? I'd have to mod the bios too since Lenovo has the black/white list for wireless card but that might be the easiest solution?

so any help or suggestions?

A:Internal Network/file sharing

As far as im aware, Network Neighbourhood will only list other machines that are in the same language as the current machine, to find if this is true open an Explorer Window (Windows Key + E) and type \\CompName (where CompName is your sisters computer name) and see if you are presented with a list of shares. If this fails, try a ping to her machine to see if a connection is present at all.

But one of the systems just refused to see the others this morning and I noticed that in the DEVICE MANAGER the modem is marked with yellow (!) sign . Also I noticed that the two networking lights at the back of the system (green and yellow) are both on (instead of only the green as shown in others working). I followed the instruction in the troubleshooter with no success . I reformatted and reloaded the hard disk, I purchased another PCI REALTEK adapter without success. The system refuses to accept the loading of the DRIVERS for the new adapter from diskette instead it continuously configure it with ASOUND 10/100m Based Fast Ethernet Drivers .

Are you by chance using homegroup? One some mixed networks homegroups IPv6 has connectivity problems, and sharing problems.
You can verify if that isw the problem by making a new network connection using workgroup instead. If the problem goes away you can disable IPv6 and kill homegroup

Hello,

I have two WinXP machines that I'm trying to create an internal network with. I've tried creating an ad hoc wireless network, using a hub, and using a crossover cable. The results are the same. My network looks something like this:

(hostname~~~IP/subnet)
xpABC~~~192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0 ** problem machine
xpDEF~~~192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0

xpABC can ping the other machine and can file share. However, xpDEF cannot ping xpABC at all. But when I ping xpABC by hostname, it can resolve the IP but still can't ping. I'm certain the problem is with xpABC, because I have the exact same problem networking with it using other computers. But xpDEF works fine with other computers.

Both machines have Windows firewalls turned off with several reboots, because I know how sneaky the blasted thing is. There are no other firewalls. I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

Okay, guys... I'm stumped. How do I use Windows Remote Desktop through a hub to get to my internal networked computers?

Here's my setup: One Internet\Network "Server" with two NICs - one NIC is connected to DSL modem, the other NIC connects to the hub. The "server" is running XP Pro\SP2. I have three other machines in my internal network, each connected to the hub. One is on XP Pro\SP2, the other two are on XP Home\SP2. The internet connection sharing and internal network file\printer sharing runs just fine.

I can easily use Remote Desktop to my "server" using the IP address given to it by my DSL provider. But........

How do I get to the other machines on the other side of the hub? Is there some sort of routing or bridging or some port thing I need to configure?

Please don't tell me to get a router - I realize that is a solution, too, but I would like to know how to resolve this with my current configuration.

Any ideas??

Thanks for your help!!

In order to connect to the public IP address, the router used would have to loop back the IP addresses into the network. I've been led to believe that some SOHO routers have that capability, but I've personally never tried to do it. Look in the WAN configuration for the router.

A:Wireless/Wired problems with internal network

Dual router set ups aren't recommended unless you like inconsistant networks that are plagued with problems.

The way you have this set up now will only cause you problems. Go with a standard modem, not a combo unit, then use your same router and turn back on all networking services including IPv6.

The Argument against Disabling IPv6
It is unfortunate that some organizations disable IPv6 on their computers running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, where it is installed and enabled by default. Many disable IPv6-based on the assumption that they are not running any applications or services that use it. Others might disable it because of a misperception that having both IPv4 and IPv6 enabled effectively doubles their DNS and Web traffic. This is not true.
From Microsoft's perspective, IPv6 is a mandatory part of the Windows operating system and it is enabled and included in standard Windows service and application testing during the operating system development process. Because Windows was designed specifically with IPv6 present, Microsoft does not perform any testing to determine the effects of disabling IPv6. If IPv6 is disabled on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, or later versions, some components will not function. Moreover, applications that you might not think are using IPv6—such as Remote Assistance, HomeGroup, DirectAccess, and Windows Mail—could be.
Therefore, Microsoft recommends that you leave IPv6 enabled, even if you do not have an IPv6-enabl... Read more

I have a wifi home network with several devices (laptops, all but one are win7, and a wireless printer) connected through a dsl modem/router (a NexusLink 5631) to each other and to the internet. The laptops can all access shared folders on each others' hard drives, and all can print wirelessly to the printer.

Until ... after a few days of happy camping suddenly none of the devices can 'see' each other (can no longer find any other device on the network) and none of the laptops can access the wireless printer. However, internet access is never disrupted; each laptop can still happily surf the net no problem.

I am somehow able to rectify the problem by rebooting the dsl modem/router, updating the connection settings on the printer, going back and doing it again, turning round three times and twitching my nose ... after fiddling for a while to no good end everything comes back as it should. And I don't know why.

I have contacted my dsl provider (Frontier, in Ohio) who own the modem/router and they say it's nothing to do with them. As long as I have internet access they're not interested.

I called them because, interestingly, all this only happened when I switched from my old) cable provider to the dsl provider. When I had the old cable modem/router this issue never occured.

Any ideas?

Buy a better firewall which supports VLANs and multiple subnets. SonicWall firewalls support what you're trying to do.

I have a very bizarre networking issue and I'm completely stumped. I'll first describe the network, then the symptoms, and then what I have tried so far.

Network:
I have a DSL connection coming into a Westell Wirespeed modem. The modem is plugged into the WAN port of a Belkin Wireless G+MIMO router. Port 1 of the router has a cable running down through two apartment floors to a Linksys EZXS55W 5-port workgroup switch (into the uplink port). There are two computers connected via cat5 to the switch. There is one computer connected via cat5 to port 3 of the belkin router. There are five computers connected via wireless. ALL computers can and do pick up an IP address from the router. Most of the computers are fairly idle, all are spyware and virus free. The hardware is all brand new. Oh, I also have a linksys wireless repeater that is connected to the router wirelessly to boost my signal strength.

Symptoms:
The issue I have is that the router intermittently loses connection to the internet (yes, the router itself). It is connected most of the time, and when it is, the network is ultra slow going to the outside world. I get insane ping latency/timeouts. Everything loads VERY SLOWLY or times out.

Troubleshooting steps:
I spent a while on the phone with Verizon (my isp) and the line test looked good. Also, when I plugged my laptop directly into the DSL modem (disconnecting the rest of the network), my speed was what it should be and it did not lose the connection at all... Read more

Hi. My new Dell XPS 1530 laptop has an internal wlan card which does not seem to pick up the network signal strong enough. I am constantly disconnecting and the download speed will begin around 11mbps and, very shortly, drop to about 1. My (very) old Dell desktop has a Lynksys external network adapter that picks up the signal strong enough with no problem. Never disconnected. How ironic that I am forced to use my old Dell desktop with this brand new notebook sitting here.

Anyhow, I ordered a WUSB600N Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter and am wondering how to disable the internal wlan card in order to try the external adapter. My OS is Vista 64.

Any help would be appreciated.

THANKS!

Roxanne

Hi Roxanne,

Welcome to the forum.

Some laptops have a switch near to the keyboard so that you can switch it on or off

You could take the old network card out of the laptop,

You could also go to Device Manager Right click on your Network adapter and select disable.

I hope this helps

Hi all!

I am having an issue where Symantec Endpoint Protection is blocking port scans on my internal network. SEP is running on my laptop (where I'm typing this) and the scans all come from my desktop PC (192.168.0.5) on my wireless network. Blocked scan is UDP on port 5355 and it's logging it several times per minute.

Desktop is DIY kit with 32 bit AMD processor running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 32 bit OS.
Desktop security software is Norton Security Suite 5.2.2.3 (provided by Comcast before I moved. I now have Time Warner cable).

Laptop is HP Pavilion with 64 bit AMD processor running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit OS.
Laptop security software is Symantec Endpoint Protection, unmanaged, ver 12.1.671.4971 (provided by the Navy).

All patches and virus definitions are up to date.

Home network is all wireless, 802.11g AES II encryption.
Other devices on the network are 2 iPads, 2 Droids (motorola and HTC) and 1 Wii, none of which have antivirus software (do they need it?) and all of which seem to be working fine.

For a couple months I was also having an issue on the laptop where it was blocking traffic from Svchost.exe but I found some help for that on Symantec's website and disabled IPv6 on my Laptop and changed the firewall rule to allow IPv6 and uPNP discovery from local computers. That seems to have resolved (or made me ignorant of the continued existance of) that problem.

In addition to the already installed security suites I have run com... Read more

A:SEP Blocking Port Scans From PC on Internal Network

Hello again. I just found a Norton support discussion that said that UDP traffic on port 5355 is normal on a LAN so I changed the firewall settings to allow it on my internal subnet. I'll let you know if that solves the problem. Would appreciate it if someone would let me know if I just made myself ignorant of a real problem. Also wondering why SEP doesn't know the subnet and subnet mask of my internal network. Seems I shouldn't have to set that for each rule.

Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to share an internal hard drive over the homegroup network or any other possible way that I can view video files on it on my tv?

A:Is it possible to share internal hard drive over network

That is the design of the software for you to be able to. File/Folder sharing has been around since the days of Windows 3.1 for Workgroups.

I've had several attacks by malware last months. I was able to remove those with Hitman 3.5 and Tdss killer (for rootkit virus). After a week I was infecdted again, this time constant pop up windows with something
resembling the AVG logo announcing malware called explorer.exe. Tried Malawarebytes, AVG, Hitman but nothing helped so ran Combofix. I ran fine but afterwards I had no network connection. Tried using network repair function with no effect. Logs attsached, would really appreciate help with this.

I came across an internal error 2343.I deleted the msoffice directory and then went into the registry editor and deleted any msoofice links.
Now i am unable to install MSOFFICE 2000 as i keep getting this error message.I tried by going thru the set up but it goes to the maintenance mode .
Is there any way to solve this issue without reinstalling WindowsNT 4.00.
I am using Serice pack 4.

A:MSOFFICE installation error (Internal error 2343).

According to my technet, its something to do with lotus notes/ you removed or unistalled it, or it dosent have the correct registry settings.
Then it mentions a SR/1 or try SR/1a...
I can`t fit the full reason here but i hope it helps....

Same happened to me with Lenovo y40-80  8.1 > 10.  Sadly I was foolish and didn't make a backup before install and now I'm back to near factory.

Folks,

I am currently using Ghost 8.0 to image dell machines in work. We use XP and image by a bootable Ghost CD-ROM with images taken from an external HDD.

I imaged a number of identicle PC's with no problem, however on one or two of these same machines, Ghost reached 99% before throwing up an error:

Error 36000: Internal Inconsistency Error.....

The strange thing is that, after retrying to image the machine a number of times, the cloning process eventually works and the machine is imaged fine.

I have the logfile genreated below.
