Q: Thinkpad T530 Wireless+Bluetooth Replacement Card

Hi, there. We own a T530 that has an Intel N-2200 WiFi card built in. We're interested if there is a replacement WiFi Intel card that also has Bluetooth connectivity and if so, which one is whitelisted by Lenovo (BIOS)? Thank you. Edit: Looks like we've posted in the wrong subsection of the forum. We'll be making a new post in the appropriate section. Mods can delete this one.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Dear Lenovo, Users, I have a T530 with integrated Intel GPU (2392APU) and the fan needs to be replaced.I found the following replacements:- 04W6904 FRU FAN Integrated Furukawa FANS- 04W6906 FRU FAN Integrated AVC EQUIVALENT- 04W6905 FRU FAN Integrated Delta EQUIVALENT Here are my questions:a) Do they differ in regards of noise / dbs. Which has the less noise?b) Can I use a heatpipe for the NVIDIA T530 versions as well, and does this has any benefits in regards of noise?c) Can I replace just the fan itself, what is the partnumber / spec (e.g. diameters, mounting points, etc.) to find a after-market hardware solution (silent 3rd party fan) for the fan only. Thanks a lot, Martin

I recently performed a clean full system upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my T530.Everything is working well and I must admit I am very pleased with the features and performance of Windows 10.  When I turn on Bluetooth it works and I can connect my pc to my remote HP printer and send jobs for printing.  The only issue I am having is that when I turn on Bluetooth no Bluetooth icon appears in the toolbar like it did with Windows 7.  I have downloaded (g4wh01ww.exe Bluetooth 4) from Lenovo Support.  When I go to install it I receive a notification that it is already installed.  When I go to Windows Settings and click on devices no bluetooth shows.  I have a small airplane in the toolbar which shows that I am connected wirelessly.  The no show if the Bluetooth icon might be characteristic of Windows 10, if so I can live with it.  Am I missing something?Thanks,Altoid666

I have a T530 laptop and occasionally, when I pick it up (physically) or if it's on a non-flat surface, I see a message flickering for a second on the screen that bluetooth services is disconnecting (or something like that - it's disappears too fast to read properly) and the bluetooth device stops functioning. The laptop is about a year old, but this has been happening since I bought it - it just took me some time to figure out that picking it up is the cause. I think the laptop warps a little and this causes something to disconnect. After this is happening, the only way to restore it is to restart the machine. Is this a known issue with this model or is it just my unit?

Ok, so here's a long story. Purchased a Thinkpad T530 5 years ago. Configured it with two drives that came from Lenovo (one in main HDD bay, another one in Ultrabay - one was IIRC Hitachi and the other one Toshiba, can't remember which was installed in which bay). OS was Windows 8 Home (installed on HDD in main bay) which I sported for a only few weeks since I was confronted with Ultrabay HDD constantly (every 5-10 minutes) parking its head (clicking noise). Being unable to successfully resolve the issue I decided to ditch Windows 8 and install Windows XP 32-bit (also on the main bay HDD). Problem? Gone. In the meantime, I decided to sport a dual-boot system and installed Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit)  on the Ultrabay HDD (in the meantime I replaced the Ultrabay HDD that came from Lenovo with a WD 7500BPKT drive). Problem? None whatsoever, probably because the HDD was constantly in use since it had a OS (which became my main OS) installed on it. Fast forward to a few days ago. Bought a Crucial MX300 2TB 2.5'' SSD and installed it into the main HDD bay. Purchased a SAMSUNG 850 EVO mSATA SSD and installed it into the mPCIE slot. Left the WD 7500BPKT HDD in Ultrabay. Installed Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) onto Samsung mSATA SSD and? Problem with Ultrabay HDD constantly (not as frequently as other people using AHCI+Windows+Intel Rapid Storage drivers were reporting though - once every 5-10 minutes in my case vs once every minute or so as reported by other users) parkin... Greetings - I have a Lenovo T530 Laptop - Windows 10 installed. Each time I attempt to shut down the laptop, the laptop automatically restarts itself. I replaced that power jack because the power button also wasn't working either. I had this same problem regardless of whether Windows 7 or 10 was on it. I have 10 and loaded most Lenovo Drivers, including any with management, chipset. Also, the power options are reset to default - that didn't make any difference either. According to the diagnostics tests, there are no hardware issues. It is only happening on this particular T530 - not have been able to replicate the same problem on others. Any ideas?? Thank you in advance!

For those tasks you wouldn't need a Core i7 or discrete graphics, save yourself some money and go for the T530.The only disadvantage would be 1600x900 instead of 1920x1080, but it would be hard to see the difference.

Hi. I'm looking to replace the original Broadcom wireless card inside my HP Envy 13 with an Intel card, specifically an Intel 8260GW. I've been greeted with a beautiful 'Wireless module not supported' error, code 704, which I assume has something to do with the BIOS having a whitelist. I've tried disabling and clearing TPM in the BIOS Security options with no success . Am I out of luck, or could anyone point me towards something I could do to get that card working?  Thanks.

A:Wireless card replacement - HP Envy 13

Hi: I am very surprised to read that you received that notice. Since about 2013, HP had removed the BIOS whitelists from their notebooks. I have a HP 350 G1 notebook that I bought last year and I installed an Intel 7260 in it with no problem at all. I only did it because I saw that other forum members had been putting any wireless cards they wanted in their notebooks. Prior to about 2013, every HP notebook has a whitelist and folks got the dreaded 'Wireless module not supported' notice. That means possibly that HP is returning to the whitelists. The only suggestion I can offer would be to install a supported wlan card listed in the service manual for your notebook and see if that works. You would have to get the specific card listed and it must have the HP part number on it, or it will not work. Chapter 3, pp 15-16 provide the list of the two wireless cards supported with their part numbers. Hopefully, the Intel dual band AC card listed will work. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04996189 If your notebook does not have two antennas present, a dual band card won't work. A lot of notebooks with these newer M2 single band cards only have 1 antenna present. Adding a 2nd antenna would require complete disassembly of the notebook including the display panel area to properly route a second antenna.

Limited. Your laptop will have the whitelist that confines you to options listed in the Service Manual. If you were happy with the performance of the card when it was working your best bet is just to get an exact replacement which we should be able to find for a few dollars. Physical replacement is very easy. Just remove the access panel on the bottom of the laptop and it is in there.  Atheros AR9280 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module   482260-001 Broadcom 4321 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module   453730-001 http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Pavilion-DV9000-Wireless-WiFi-Card-482260-001-/361868917768?hash=item5441117c08:gzYAAOSw9GhYanFv If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

I have a Compaq (HP) CQ60-418DX with a Atheros AR5007 and I am currently on a wireless G connection, my wife's netbook is getting better speeds then I am, I feel like I am on dial up still.

So anyone know of a good mini PCI express card for laptops with high performance? The card is mega easy to get at so the upgrade part will take less then 2 minutes, this laptop has ports for almost everything upgradeable on the laptop.

I want this upgrade so I can download the Free 3D models from DAZ3D for my artwork and to play a little America's Army 3 and Unreal Tournament. Yes I was a gamer once.

Oh or a driver that might work, I found a 32bit driver but running 64bit and not sure if that will work or not but I think finding a better card will serve me better over time, as I plan to upgrade everything I can along the way.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you checked the Lenovo download page for drivers newer than your current ones?

You could also try running ThinkVantage System Update (may already be installed if you have a Lenovo Win 7 preload) and see what it finds.

wireless card is to "network" your computer and bluetooth is to connect "devices" wireless to your computer. (a simple explanation)

you will need something like this if your computer does not have bluetooth built in.

I've been trying to find a solution for two full dsays now.My problem:Yesterday morning my t530 windows 10 (upgrade from 8.1) did not open normally. Slow booting and once in Windows, no more audio or wifi or access to startup menu. I did have two upgrades this week, one from Windows 10 and another for the new Bitdefender 2017 upgrade which I accepted. I don't know for sure if there is a link but I suspect there is. I have intented doing a refresh, reset from the diagnostic page and form the prompt page a scan and scannow but to no avail. I downloaded on a bootable USB flash drive rufus windows 10. I have disables secure boot and enabled legacy. When I do an F12 I see the nane of my USB HDD in the list, but when i press enter it just goes back to the top the Boot Menu screen to Windows Boot manager. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't use rufus.  I suggest making the USB stick in UEFI mode from a computer running with a UEFI boot using the MS media creation tool:

You can boot from the USB stick in UEFI mode.

Most likely a bad driver since in Safe Mode windows uses generic drivers.   My guess would be the video driver, so while in Safe Mode, use device manager to uninstall the existing video driver and start clean. Right click on Start and select Device Manager or Start >> Run and type: devmgmt.msc  and press EnterClick on Display Adapters to openRight Click on the Intel HD Graphics and select Uninstall,  making sure to check the box to "Delete the driver software for this device".RebootIf it was the video driver, then Windows should boot normally using a generic driver, and then download and install a new driver via Windows Update. Since it just started, running a disk check (chkdsk) would be a good idea too.Right Click on Start and select Command Prompt (Admin) and press EnterIn the Command Prompt (Admin) window, type:   chkdsk C: /f   and press EnterPress Y to accept scheduling scan for next bootReboot and it will run at startupGood Luck,

A:HP Envy17 j110sl Wireless Card Replacement

Yes at a minimum. Your laptop is new enough not to have the "whitelist" problem so you can install any wireless adapter of the right form factor. The big problem is likely to be if HP only has provided one (1) wireless antenna lead. If so your upgrade options are very limited. If you have 2 leads, then your best wireless card to install is this one: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-Ac-Hmc/dp/B00DMCVKMU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1490216841&sr=8-1&keywords=Intel+7260ac Intel 7260ac  + Bluetooth See page 45 of the manual. This is not a difficult installation since you have an easy open access panel. If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

Hey,I've recently installed windows 7 on my t530 because in win10 I couldn't use fingerprint reader cz there's no suitable driver available. So back on windows 7 I installed all the latest drivers from lenovo support site. Fingerprint Reader works perfectly! Now I got like 180 Updates installed. After reboot my fingerprint reader didn't work anymore. I can open the fingerprint tool but the green led is not glowing anymore.in device manager everything is ok. latest driver installed, detected as biometric device.  also it's listed in system settings.I checked my BIOS settings and clicked on "reset fingerprint data" and also disabled the device and enabled it back.nothing seems to work.. is there any solution? Maybe windows blocked the driver or something i don't know. I've deinstalled the fingerprint software AND the driver in device manager. reboot, and installed all again. nothing.. how can this be?

Hello,I will write first what my goal is. I would like to have USB 3.0 port on the ExpressCard card (I can buy a new one recommended), but it should be able to supply power, feven only for a small pendrive, a smartphone, although my first goal was to connect at least one external USB drive.I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T530 laptop.I really need extra USB ports in it.So I bought one ExpressCard/34 card first, which adds 2 USB3.0 ports and has the option of additional power supply. This is a Manhattan card.Link:https://manhattanproducts.eu/manhattan-en-superspeed-usb-expresscard34-150583.htmlI installed the NEC uPD720200 driver which was on attached CD.Initially, I was hoping to even connect 2 external USB drives. One time such drive was successfully connected. After this one time, after entering the disk it is in a moment disconnected or there is no sign that I connected it (even no sound). The disk normally works on other USB ports. With a pendrive only 1GB, it was the same. The smastphone also only plugs in so that it only powers it, but it does not shot its disk or it shows it, but it is unavailable to enter it.So I bought another ExpresCard card with 2 USB3.0, this time from 4World company. It also has the possibility of power supply (cable included).Link:https://ikupiec.pl/Product/Index?Id=6748&path=trueI uninstalled that NEC driver uPD720200 from Manhattan and I tried to install the NEC driver uPD720202 from the 4World motherboard, but I couldn't because there was a message... I had been having a problem with my laptop that makes the screen reddish for almost a year. I tried everything - creating, setting, deleting Windows color profiles, updating drivers, disabling drivers... I got a bit desperate and started disabling services and processes until I disabled the following process:...and my screen was suddenly OK. Notice how the screenshot is also reddish. This again is due to that little **bleep**. I don't know what it does but it even manages to crap all over screenshots, not just the display. After I found that this caused the trouble, I deleted all of it at this location:C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\ImController\PluginHost Now everything works fine and I can see white on my screen for the first time in a year.

I was given the Dell Inspiron 5720 laptop.  Upon testing it cannot connect to my 5GHz Wireless.  After further researching the wireless card in the laptop is only configured for 2.4GHz Wireless.  My home Wifi has dual band 2.4 and 5.0 GHz.  someone suggested i replace the card with something like this:http://or http://Not sure what to buy, what are the advantages or disadvantages.  Am I better off with replacing the actual card inside the laptop?Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi -- I'm posting this to save you some time.  After the last Windows 10 update, I lost bluetooth on both a T530 and T430, with the standared Broadcom daughter bluetooth card.  I followed all the instructions on various forums and youtube videos and nothing worked.  (ie: I went into device manager, showed hidden devices, and deleted them; I tried to reinstall the latest bluetooth drivers from Lenovo, etc, etc,)  Nothing worked - and could no longer find or install bluetooth at all on the machines. Finally, I found the solution:  Download this file from intel:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28009?v=t If the link doesn't work, the name of the file is BT_20.70.0_64_Win10.exe  (That's the 64 bit version, there's also a 32 bit version.) Run the file as administrator, wait for it to load for a few minutes, and then restart the computer.  After the restart, bluetooth will reappear in the device manager, with all the correct thinkpad broadcom drivers, and all the devices you've attached to the machine. I hope this is helpful.  It worked for me on two machines.

On windows 7 ultimate x64

I have a Usb wireless card.... I dont have the make and model on me at the moment but when I plug this into a USB socket, Windows 7 picks it up as a bluetooth device (with errors)

I have the drivers on CD but not sure how to install the drivers, as going into device manager thinks its looking for bluetooth drivers.

Any ideas?

A:Usb Wireless Card drivers (installing bluetooth)

Hello Carlos and welcome to the SevenForums.

Try installing the drivers when the USB Card is not connected. Often the installation asks then to connect the device. If it doesn't ask, reboot and connect the card.

My school has now only got 5ghz wireless and now my laptop doesn't see the wireless network as a result. To fix this I need to upgrade my laptops wireless single band WirelessN card to a dual band AC card with bluetooth preferrably. I don't care if it is an original HP card so long as it fits properly and works. My laptop has an I7 quad core in it, 1 gig DDR5 graphics, 4gig RAM, 15.6" screen.
