Multiple BSOD's on brand new setup.

Q: Multiple BSOD's on brand new setup.

I came across this wonderful site in search of answers.

I have a huge problem that I have no clue where to begin. I recently started to get BSOD's when my dog just barely tapped my tower. I was playing Metro 2033 and all it did was stutter really bad then shut down. No bsod or anything. I went to boot it back up and nothing came on, except I could see my fans were on and I heard my hdd spin, but nothing else. No monitor, no keyboard, no mouse. Panic set in lol! So I unplugged everything and let it sit there for a while then started it back up. Everything worked just great! Except I started to get a bsod every now and then tagged with the nothing posting unless I left it alone. I swapped video cards with one I knew worked (ati X1800xt) installed drivers and went to reboot (no bsod at this time, and your supposed to restart after driver install) then the normal nothing comes up. So I took the x1800 out and put it back in the old system I had. Well then that wouldn't do anything either!! Seeing as I was frustrated I removed that card from the old computer and let it sit. After some time I put the x1800 back into the old computer and it worked like it never left. (I also tried the HD 6950 in the old pc and it didn't do anything either - that was before I put the x1800 back into the old pc - but I thought that might be the psu not being powerful enough) So I took the new computer apart minus the processor and left the pieces sit apart. Then I found another old board I had laying around Dfi Lanparty. I put the HD 6950 into that Dfi board installed win 7 on a diff hdd and everything worked just fine and dandy.

I had removed the new Asus Evo from the case I had thinking I might have a short somewhere and it had worked great for some time. Then the bsods happened again. So thinking it was windows and/or driver issues I tried to install windows again on the 250 gig hdd. While trying to install windows 2 different time at about 15% I would get a bsod. Frustrated I let it all sit and swapped the vid card into the old Dfi board. After a little bit I decided I would try to install windows again on the new asus board. Everything worked!! Untill this morning. I keep getting random bsods.

I came here and tried to use the file windows_nt6_bsod thing you have in your sticky post. I was getting a random bsod every stinkin time I tried to use it. So I took out 1 ram stick (since I hadn't tried the ram yet), and am now typing this long drawn out post hoping I don't get a bsod.

So thanks for the read and help!

I couldn't get the perfom /report to work properly So all I have attached is the zip file the windows program made.

Preferred Solution: Multiple BSOD's on brand new setup.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

ASACPI.sys the 2005 version is a huge cause of BSOD's

Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

Brand new Gigabyte EP45T-UD3LR motherboard
Brand new 1TB Hitachi SATA HDD, 3.0GB/s
Core 2 Quad Q6600

I am trying to set up a new install of Win 7 on the above, with no success. (Retail CD bought today, too)

I used my external caddy to partition the drive (1 partition, whole drive), and built up the board etc.

So, I boot from the Windows 7 DVD, wait for the "press any key to boot from CD/DVD, do so, and the "Windows is loading files" message appears with the white progress bar.

All OK so far.

Then, I get the Windows splash screen, followed by the screen to chose Language, Time and currency and keyboard screen. Having done so, I click NEXT.

As we all know, the next screen is "Install now"

When I click on "Install now", Setup is starting appears briefly, followed by a BSOD

STOP: 0X00000018

I'm guessing this is an issue with a driver, but at no point do I get the opportunity to point to a driver?

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Thanks in anticipation

I would go into bios and set everything at "DEFAULT".

Also, if I remember correctly, and it's been a while - set the SATA mode to IDE. I think there was some concern over AHCI, but I might be totally out to lunch.

Our office has 3 brand new computers, all builds are the same except one has a different video card (therefore the BSOD can't be a video card problem). Every now and then each of them will crash (maybe once a week?) and a BSOD come up that says the usual:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

A process or thread crucial to system opeation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated.

blah blah blah...

*** STOP: 0x000000F4 (different, numbers each, time)

Collecting data for crash dump... Initializing disk for crash dump...
I don't use these computers but apparently when the bios is entered, the boot preferences have found to be swapped.

Computer specs are:
OS: Windows 7 64bit
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU x900 @ 3.47GB
Video card on 2 of the computers (not sure what the other one is) NVIDIA Geore GTX570
1st drive - OCZ-VERTEX3
2nd - Hitachi HDS

Haven't found any answers yet, anyone got an idea? Thanks in advance for your help!

STOP: 0x000000F4: Usually faulty hardware, but can't pin it down more than that without the bracketed string after the main Stop Code, and the crash dump report (which I'm not clever enough to decipher anyway, but someone here will be).

In the meantime, test both the RAM & the hard drives in each PC so you'll have those test results ready to post later instead of being asked to test them by someone else when you've already done it:

Hello, I just purchased a brand new pc from iBuyPower.com. I have 8GB of DDR3 Ram, a 1TB hard drive, a NVIDIA GTX 660 2BG video card. So far, after about 3 hours of installing things and using the computer, I have gotten around 20-30 BSOD's. Most of them occur when I try to run games. (EVE online, Minecraft.) A many of them occur just browsing the internet on Chrome. I have gotten Bad_Pool_Header, System_Service_Execption, and a couple other I can't remember. After browsing around here, I've noticed that many of them relate to something called RT86win7. Any help, basically whenever I start running a game, I get a BS

Welcome aboard.

upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
Click on the start button
Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
From your recent crashes, we can say that those are drive related. Update your display driver (I got an nvidia update today) update the audio driver, too!
And, Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Let us know the results.

Brand new, bought from SC (big HW/SW vendor), who gets them/ships direct from Lenovo. We bought 6 @ the same time, and their S/N appear to be close enough to be similar batch. Opened, installed battery, plugged it in, pushed power button and hit F1 to enter the BIOS and got a lock icon. I hit Enter and was able to get to the Setup but couldn't change the settings we need prior to imaging the laptop. I found this, "Brand New T440s with BIOS password", on the forum, which is probably what happened. " Sometimes large customers request preconfigured laptops which may include customized supervisor passwords. Of course, you should have not received one of these units. "I called Lenovo tech and they told me to contact the Reseller as they (Lenovo) will charge FULL PRICE to fix it...even though it's under warranty. Unless SC's own tech has an answer, it'll go back to them (SC) for a replacement. I'd prefer that vs. having this one 'fixed' anyway. Just putting it here in case Lenovo has an unknown bug they've not disclosed/discovered.Thanks

just bought a new laptop, got as far as the Windows "hello" feature and adding a PIN, walked away for a minute and the screen turned Black. I could still move the mouse pointer but could do nothing else. I then shut it off, held the power button on for about 10 secs and then the firmware started updating. Is this a concern or is it fairly common?

1) I received the new XPS 13 loaded with 16 GIG RAM and I-7 processor
2) The mousepad was faulty when I received it and became unusable
3) Dell sent a tech out to replace after a couple of weeks because the part was back-ordered
4) It worked for a few weeks
5) Then the speakers broke. Dell sent another Tech to replace the speakers
6) The mousepad started to fail again when the laptop heated-up, especially when I was in Excel or PowerPoint.
7) The laptop seriously heats-up. I run a software company so am pretty tech savvy. I actually fried an egg in 12 minutes when I put the egg in aluminum foil and sat it on the backside of the laptop. The fan does not always come-on when the laptop gets real hot
Can overheating cause all these problems? Thanks very much
BTW: On one of the many support calls with Dell techs, they uploaded the latest BIOS, checked all primary drivers

I have purchased a new HP 15-BA025AU from JB Hi-Fi and it seems to have multiple issues on startup. For the record it is a brand new boxed model and not secondhand or floor model. 1. Chiefly the touchpad (not the touchscreen) is erratic and has poor sensitivity. Examples- it will take 2-3 finger swipes to get the cursor to move from one side of the screen to the other- It has poor response time to picking up my finger on the touchpad, I usually have to press and hold my finger or tap one or twice to get the cursor to move- The worst issue is that the cursor is often very erratic in its movement, for instance if I move my finger left along the touchpad the cursor will freeze or jump right instead, sometimes it will even jump all over the screen- The tap function of the touchpad rarely works, by this I mean to click without using the click buttons beneath the touchpad 2. The computer crashes frequently with no warning. I am not using it heavily at all, in fact I rarely have more than 1 chrome webpage up at a time. It has crashed from me just trying to write this report. I would estimate it crashes 1-2 every hour. The message that comes up after restarting is, "Default Radeon WattMan settings have been restored due to an unexpected system failure." 3. The ba025au is very slow. I previously had a HP 15-d011TU which had half the RAM (4 rather than 8), a weaker processor, and a HDD rather than an SDD and yet it was much quicker and more powerful than this laptop seem... I set up two brand new computers one Dell and one Toshiba laptop and both computers failed kb2984981, kb2965788 and kb2861208. Is it possible that these updates have been replaced with newer ones? I did factory restore the dell and I still generate these 3 failed updates. Hope to hear from someone! cheers!

A:Brand new computer setup updates kb2984981, kb2965788, kb2861208 faile

What error message did you get? - it's not unusual for a couple of updates to fail on the first attempt, as the system tries to sort out sequencing, and doesn't always get it right. They will usually install OK at the second or third time of asking.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

I got an EeePC about 2 weeks ago. It's running WinXP Home SP2 and has a 4GB SSD (it's a subnotebook). I upgraded the RAM from 512 to 2GB. Everything was perfect until Thursday when I inadvertently downloaded a theme file from Appleblossomart.com (AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE) that had the Win32/Gaelicum.A virus. I got rid of it using the vcleaner tool from AVG. After I finished I ran several AVG scans, all came back clear. I ran the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and it found nothing. All was good until Saturday when I clicked shutdown and a window popped up Windows Live Mail couldn't be closed automatically and did I want to manually shut it down (I had already exited the program before clicking shut down). I said yes and it closed and the system shut down normally. I rebooted to see if everything was fine and when I went to shut down this time I got:

"The system is shutting down. Shutdown is initiated by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM

C:\windows\system32\services.exe terminated unexpecetdly with status code 1073741819

System will close and reboot in 60 seconds"

When it rebooted all was fine. In fact I was error free all day Sunday but Monday evening got that error again. When it reboots all is fine. I tried installing AdAware but when I try to run it I get:

You can likely fix the AdAware error by uninstalling AdAware and reinstalling a freshly downloaded copy. But I wonder if there may still be some malware hiding in your system. A:Brand New Dell XPS 8700 - Multiple BSODs

I have debugged the dumps and all seem to have the same error, I have done some research about your crashes and have found some possible causes:

1.) Incorrect BIOS Configuration
2.) Faulty RAM Module

The Fixes for these are as follows:
1.) Restore the BIOS Configuration
2.) Remove the faulty RAM.

Modifying BIOS/CMOS settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. I cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk. But it may be the only way to fix the BSOD's you are encountering.

If I was in your position I would try restoring the BIOS first, before trying to remove RAM. If you are ensure on how to restore the BIOS please look at this before trying: How can I reset CMOS or BIOS settings?

I wouldn't try the hard reset unless the normal defaults do not work. If neither work then try removing the RAM.

Hi all, Just received a new X1 Yoga 3rd Gen and I'm having a ton of issues after updating everything. Started when I noticed Windows Hello is no longer functional.  Went into Device Manager, and I see Biometric Devices > Synaptics WBDI, Portable Devices > WPD FileSystem Driver, Sensors > HID Sensor Collection V2 (all 3), System Devices > Detection Verification, System Devices > System Interface Foundation V2 Device all have driver issues.  Status states device isn't working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required. (Code 31). I have tried several refreshes of the laptop and the errors keep showing up.  I have tried Lenovo Vantage, but when I open it says I have to install an update.  I install the update, restart as it tells me to, and then when I open Vantage again, I get the same request telling me to install the update again. Wash, rinse, repeat. I have tried LenovoServiceBridge setup.  Also to no avail. I get the error "The drive or UNC share you selected does no exist or is not accessible.  Please select another." I'm also getting a new error that Windows Update failed.  Any ideas?  I've been at this for hours which is pretty inexcusable for a ThinkPad that is barely a day old.  It seems like I can't do any updates or anything.

A:Multiple Driver Issues on brand new X1 Yoga 3G

I would start by going to https://support.lenovo.com/us/en, entering your serial number and installing all of the available drivers, becauase Lenovo Vatage is not quite up ot par in my opinion.   If you want to update them automatially, use Lenovo System Update, which predates Lenovo Vantage and I think works better..

Hi all, I'm new here so sorry if i've made a mistake in my post or if these problems already have a solution. I'm using a brand new ThinkPad T450s. Sometimes when the display times out (if im inactive for a while) the power light will stay on meaning the computer is not sleeping, however I can't get the display to turn back on (it's just a black screen). After a few minutes of this, the computer shuts down by itself. Also, sometimes when i close the lid, the light stays on and the computer doesn't sleep even though it is meant to (i already checked control panel settings), other times it will work normally. Yesterday i went away, the screen went to black but the power stayed on as usual, the computer shut down by itself and when i turned it back on i got multiple different BSODs, all with different error messages. I restored my computer (it gave me the option to restore windows but keep my existing files which I did). The computer gave me one more BSOD today but it restarted and is working now. I suspected something wrong with the display drivers so i updated everything and it's working now. However, youtube videos are crashing and causing me to have to shut down the system, when it restarts it takes a very very long time to get the display going. I ran the DM Logs and they're attached here. Thank you in advance for your help!

5 months of Multiple BSODs on a brand new computer - driver or hardware error? Mini dump analysis help please.

Hi, I?m looking for anyone who can analyse mini dumps and help me determine the source of my problems.

The system has been giving me hell from the start. The problem often manifests in different driver and memory errors - To my level of understanding the errors seem to be fairly unrelated. When it runs well it?s awesome and it really performs. When it starts messing up, that?s it, it might BSOD on every start up 5times in a row and then start working for no apparent reason.

I ruled out: faulty PSU and faulty RAM, and system always runs cool, (the hottest component being the fanless graphics card).

I have also run extensive tests on system hard drive:
Seatools returned no errors after firmware upgrade and 2 long tests. However DiskCheckup keeps changing its mind out predicted TEC date: it jumps from Jan 2010 too Aug 2011 either of which is unacceptable and well within manufacture warranty

Reinstalled windows countless times with different installation CDs

So that leaves MOBO, CPU, GPU or maybe some software of driver issue.

I feel that it must be hardware related but I can?t work out what it is, on top of that the faults are often intermittent making trial and error testing unreliable. I have collected many minidumps now, but I can?t work out if they are related or not ? has my comp dozens of problems or just a couple with v... Read more

Right,  So when last home in the US I bought a brand new Lenovo C930 (the 2018 version with an i7, 1TB ssd and the standard 1080p screen). I purchased the lenovo specifically because of reliability and durabilitiy issues I had been having with a similar Acer. However upon moving to Southeast Asia, where I will be working for the foreseable future, I noticed several severe problems.  The sakers rattle. Badly. On mid to high volume the built in speakers are not usable unless I press down on the front of the laptop. Um. Not acceptible. The thing crashes when touched. It is so sensative. I got a crazy stuck pixili screen when I tried to flip the display around the first time. If I bump the table its on (even setting down a mouse to hard) the thing crashes. If I pick it up, it crashes. If I set it down it crashes. Basically useless as a laptop or mobile device. It just crashs and crashes and crashes and has to be hard reset over and over and over.I contacted Lenovo and of course their once standard international warranty is now no longer standard. Half the reason I purchased the **bleep** thing is because of Lenovo's reptuation for global tech support and warranty support. Apparntly that died in 2018. So now I have a nearly $2,000 laptop that cannot be used as intended, and the tech support guy was less than helpful. Like literally he was just like well you would have to come back to the states to have it fixed. That's not an option for atleast the next 12 ... Read more

I think BSODs may be related to Asus and/ or Marvell drivers.

This out-dated Asus ATK0110 mobo utility driver has BSOD'd Windows 7 systems to death for over a year now. A custom builder like NCIX should have updated it -

My Dell Vostro 1400 Laptop recently quit working. Its only 4 months old.
I turned it on and it came to a screen saying,

"Windows dould not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair"

I inserted the setup disc and booted from it, when I got the the Repair option it says,"Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.
Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.

Setup cannot continue."

So I took the computer down to the local computer store and they put in a new 130 GB harddrive, ran the setup disk again and it displayed the same missing HDD message.

Anyone have any Ideas of what could be wrong???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Gmail ristricts the no of sending to 250 mails in a day. but when i have set up multiple ids in outlook and i change the default sending mail after first 250 emails, the mail starts bouncing stating your quota exceeds.

my question is does outlook also restricts the sending limits. or using the pop.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com server counts the emails. is there a solution for this.

I am trying to connect an external TV to my laptop using HDMI connection.
I turned off both of them.
Connected the cable
turned on the TV.
Turned on my laptop.
Everything is fine while the windows starting, everything is displayed on the TV, (which is determined from the bios setup).
When the welcome screen appears, it appears on the laptop, not on the TV.
nothing appears on the TV.
I entered the resolution page and pressed the detect button, all what I get is "Another display not detected"
I tried updating my nvidia card driver.
I searched the internet for any help, I found that this problem happens with a lot of people, most of them say that this problem happened only with windows 7, and the external TV was detected easily using windows XP or Vista.

Please help.

This thread is from nvidia forums showing that the problem is not in the display card driver and all of them have the problem when upgraded to windows 7.

I am trying to set up my Gateway DX4300-19 Desktop PC for dual monitors. The problem I am having is that the second monitor is not accepting the signal and or not getting the signal. I am not very tech savvy so I may be completely wrong with this so here it goes:

My video card is a ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated.

So this is how I'm trying to set it up and if I'm completely wrong please tell me what to do.

On the back panel of my desktop there is a VGA output and a HDMI output. I have the VGA going to my desktop Monitor its a gateway.

And Im trying to use the HDMI into my LCD TV as it is hung above my desktop anyway.

Am I doing something wrong or will it just not work?

I need 3 TVs to run of 3 separate computers, and I need to be able to switch which computer run which tv, very quickly. So ?computer a? needs to be able to runs 1,2 and3 (but only one at a time.) then needs to be able to switch and run a different tv in less than 1 min.

2 computer stations are located in one room and the 3rd is 20 feet away in the next. The farthest tv is 50ft away, but are all located in different areas so the building. Chrome casts and similar devices aren?t good enough to run video. We would prefer a hard wired situation.

The computers do not have hdmi ports, but do have vga. We have to have sound and video playing. Each computer station must also have 2 monitors.

Any ideas?

Hello Everyone,

I am in desperate need of help.

Just started new business and wanted to setup 3 additional monitors to my current laptop. Bought 3 monitors and plugged in and to my surprise only two working. Did some research and found that my laptop only has the ability to set up 2 additional monitors and not 3.

Went to local computer shop and they advised to get a video card and that should help.

Before that I tried all the below option but nothing worked

1. HDMI to USB
2. VGA to USB
3. DVI to USB

What I haven't tried is the external docking station as that is bit expensive.

My laptop is Acer Aspire F - 15 F5 -572G - 77KY
Intel Core i7 with turbo boost
NVIDIA GeForce 940M with 4 GB Dedicated VRAM
16GB DDR3 l Memory

If my only option is Video card can you please suggest which one to go for and if that can be plugged into usb or something.

If there is any other option please let me know.

This may show my ignorance, but I'm fine with that. I'm am working on a computer that needs to have both XP and Linus, as well as a large amount of storage. What I have to work with is two smaller drives and two larger drives. The thought was to partion the smaller drive to contain both OS and set it up as a RAID1 with the other small drive so that the software would be backed up (time is money with this project so I can't have downtime reloading if either crashes!). Is there any way to have the two larger ones set-up as RAID0 or will I have to have both of them as separate drives? Willing to take any other set-up suggestions as well. Thanks for your time!

I wouldn't think it would matter which drive you chose to install the XP and or Linux on, though I don't think you can take two HDs and combine them. They will more than likely have to be separate drives. Let us know...Jazz

I am sure somebody out there can help with this one.

I currently take care of a small office network, please note I'm self taught and still learning.

20 computers
Main Server
Phone Server
1 vpn router (BEFVP41 V2)
2 wireless routers (Dlink DI-614+ and WRT54G)
2 trendnet switches (TE100-S24 and TE-100 S16
Other Misc Lan Printers and devices

Right now out VPN router is connected to our modem. The VPN router is then connected to the first switch which is connected to the other switch, the other 2 routers, and various computers.

We have various issues, including transfer speed, ability to see all computers on the network, etc etc. I assume the issues are in how I have the routers configured.

SO, here are my questions.

1) I no longer have a need for the wireless functionality of the 2 additional routers. Should they be replaced by switches?

2) If I keep the setup as is, how should the routers be configured, is there a good resource on the web to read about this?

3) "If someone has the time to answer this one I would be grateful." - If you were starting from scratch how would you configure this network, what hardware would you buy? Due to wiring limitations there are two areas of our building, where the additional wireless routers are now, that a router or switch or something must be used to service multiple computers.

A:Multiple Router Setup

You can't see all the computers because routers break up broadcast domains. You need to either create separate subnets on each router and set up routing between them or make the WAP's into layer 2 bridges (if possible). If you do not require the wireless could you wire the other devices directly into it? If not hang a switch off of it.

Hi  Hoping someone may know the answer - but is there any hardware or software I can get to allow me to output my Lenovo Y50 onto three external HDMI monitors? I need them to be extensions of the display, rather than duplicates... I tried a HDMI splitter in one HDMI port connected to 2x external monitors but it only seems to duplicate the display on two of the screens, even when selecting ''extend'' from the Win10 display options. I have a USB to HDMI converter that is allowing me to extend the display onto one additional monitor, but not onto two... Thanks in advance

I've encountered multiple specific problems hence why the thread title is "multiple problems".

So it all started when a recent Windows 10 update was installed on to my brother's laptop. Laptop restarted and did not boot up. Encountered a srttrail.txt error. Read many posts on this. I tried bootrec, bcdedit, startup repair, chkdsk, scannow......the laptop always got stuck at a blank black screen or could not repair the startup.

I downloaded an ISO from the microsoft site to try and re-install Windows, burned it to a dvd at max speed (using my laptop), then booted it on to my brother's laptop under Legacy Boot mode. It booted well except it could not accept the product key which came with the ISO file (which came from a site that was partnered with Microsoft). We checked the product key multiple times....no success. I tried downloading a pre-activated ISO file to bypass the product key screen and I get to the "Select driver to install" screen telling me I am missing a media file. I downloaded a chipset onto a usb drive and selecting it but the laptop keeps saying "Could not find any drivers".

So.....is the ISO corrupted? Did I burn the ISO too fast? Is the DVD scratched? Do I need to edit any settings in BIOS? This is an Acer laptop with an i7 processor.
By the way, By brother downgraded to Windows 8.1 because he used somebody else's Windows 8.1 cd to repair his computer.....or at least that's what he told me. Anyho... Read more

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post !
I was actually looking forward to setup multiple routers at our college(I know its quite late) where we have quite a good network of ethernet cables. Also, almost every cluster/lab has its own switch and we use static IPs with proxy to one network address( The user should be able to travel across multiple ROUTER/AP zones without changing connections.
I am sorry if I ask too much but after searching for several hours, all I got was I have to do something with MAC cloning and SSIDs.

So if I move a window from my 144 hz monitor to one of my 60 hz monitors it gets laggy. I have also noticed that if I fullscreen a window on my 144 hz monitor that I will get some strange tearing in specific places when I scroll up and down. If I revert the 144 hz monitor down to 60 hz it goes away. It also goes away by switching to windows basic instead of aero? Does anyone else have experience with this? I am pretty sure it is a windows problem.

I looked it up and other people had a similar problem as well. Sadly not many people use monitors beyond 60 hz so I doubt that this will be patched anytime soon.

I would like to setup three or four monitors on my computer. I want the screens to have individual properties but also be connected in a panoramic fashion. Can I add more video cards or should I get a ready made unit that supports several monitors? If so, where's a good place to look for one?

A:How Do I setup a Multiple Monitor Computer?

The Three main Hardware based ways to Setup Multiple Monitors

1) You can get a USB to VGA Adapter, or USB to DVI Adapter that will allow you to add an extra monitor to your computer via any USB2.0 Port. You can also add multiple extra monitors by using multiple adapters. This is a great option for viewing documents, surfing the web, using Microsoft Office and many other business tasks. This is not a good option for intense graphical situations such as HDTV, Blu-ray, Gaming and 3D / CAD Workstation applications. For those types of scenarios, it is highly recommended that you purchase a high-powered multi-monitor workstation or a Matrox Dual or Triple Head2Go.

Multi-Monitor Adapters

2) You can replace or add an extra video card to your existing computer, depending on how many monitors you wish to support. Although this sounds easy enough, this is a rather complex solution for a beginner, especially when trying to find a compatible graphics card. For this reason, I am going to write an entirely seperate post on that topic and will link to it here, very soon.

Multi-Monitor Video Cards

3) You can buy a pre-manufactured multi-monitor computer. The best place to purchase a multiple monitor computer is at: Multi-Monitors.com.
They carry a multi-monitor computer line called SUPER PC that can support from 2 to 16 monitors.

Hi, i had been having issues with bluescreens once every week or so. I took action by updating my drivers etc but this did not fix the issue. I re-installed windows and got all my drivers on and such yet the problem persists with more bluescreens, more often and with more driver causes.
Before the re-install the bluescreen was always atikmdag.sys but now i have had two others. I believe these may be due to the program ESL Wire which is an anti-cheat program for counter-strike tournaments. If there is any way to have ESL Wire and not experience the BSOD then please let me know as i need to use it for tournaments. I am not aware of the cause of atikmdag.sys and have tried beta graphics drivers but the problem persists.
I have attached the DM Log Collector results.
Thanks for reading,

Robbie, I haven't completed looking at your dump files yet, but so far they all list your Graphics driver, as you know.

I am not familiar with the ESL Wire program you mentioned. I do know what it is, and a brief search on the internet shows you are not the only one having issues with it, just not all the issues are the exact same as yours. Have you tried uninstalling it and doing the same thing as you normally do that causes the BSODs? That should answer that question, one way or the other. I know you need it for what you do, but has proven to be a problematic program, it seems. ESL Wire has a forum you may want to post there and see what suggestions they have. If their tech support people frequent there, they made the program and would be the best ones to resolve any problems with it.

Where are you downloading your video card drivers from? And are you overclocking the cards? If you are playing Tournaments, I'm reasonably sure you would be. I would suggest resetting to default settings at least until we figure this out. ... Read more
