Hello,I have problems with the touch screen of my yoga 500.It works for couple of days and then the touch stops responding.After i run troubleshoot it solves the problem BUT couple of days later the same problem again.  please help!!!

I have a Yoga 11s Laptop (ideapad) with windows 8.1, bought it 3 years ago, and the touch screen hasn't workedfor about two week. I've installed touchpad drivers, and refreshed the computer. Installing the drivers did nothing, and the touch screen worked after the refresh until I flipped the screen to use it in stand mode.  Thoughts? Will a factory reset make a difference?  I really need the touch screen for the work I do, and I can't send it out for repairs.

Hi. Touch screen on my device is working from time to time. Mostly not working at all. It stops working after suspend/reboot. I can't understand what makes it work again. Sometimes you suspend/reboot again and it starts working, sometimes its not. The reason of this is I2C HID Device with status "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." which is shown in Device Manager. When it doesn't have yellow warning icon - touch is working. What I tried: Windows Troubleshooter. It reinstalls driver. Doesn't help.Remove driver in Device Manager. Doesn't help. It restores automatically.Disable/Enable device. No luck.Install latest Lenovo updates (including BIOS, V.2JCN36WW) via Lenovo Companion. No luck.Install Windows updates. No luck. BTW, Creators update installed.Suspend/Restart. Helps in very rare cases around 1 of 10.

After a launch of updates including the BIOS update from Lenovo Vantage, my touch screen stopping working all of a sudden, as the screen does not react to the pen. When going in tablet mode, the mouse cursor does not dissapear and the screen still does not work. I restarted the laptop a few times but the problem continues to persist. When I went to touch screen & pen info, it said that "no pen or touch screen display is available for this display." It never said this before and I still have Windows Ink available. This is the best laptop that I got for college until this happened, and I am hoping that Lenovo and/or Microsoft comes up with a fix quickly as possible. I really need help with this becuase I just got this laptop and I don't wanna think that $1099 was a waste of money. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, This is my first time posting, so please bear with me. A few days ago, the touch screen completely stopped working. I am also unable to rotate the screen. Navigating to the Device Manager, I see three I2C HID Device drivers, but one of them has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it. When I click on it, I see the error: "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." Disabling it does nothing, neither does uninstalling it - when they are reenabled or reinstalled, the error persists. There are no drivers that can be updated, and there is no way to roll back to a previous driver as I never updated these due to there being no problems. I assume this is a hardware issue, but I am not sure how to verify this or if there is anything else that can be done.  I have had quite a few problems with this machine, sending it out twice for the same problem and having the same problem occur for the third time (the power button does not work), but I am hoping this is something that is fixable.  Thanks!

I got a new Lenovo Yoga 520 notebook a few days ago - initially everything was working fine, however now when I switch it into tablet mode the touch screen is completly unresponsive. I have done all the Lenovo system updates and windows 10 is up to date.  Has anyone experienced a simular issue and knows how I can fix this? Its still under warranty but I would prefer to try and fix myself if possible.

Wondering if anyone can assist.  Upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago and the touch screen was working fine and within the last month it stopped functioning.  I have googled many help topics, and many suggest that I access my Device manager and click on the Human Interface Devices section find  HID-compliant touch screen.  The only problem is the HID-compliant touch screen is not listed as an option.  Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this issue?

All drivers are fine. I have tried disabling and enabling & reinstalling HID touch screen drivers but it didnot work. I have also reset the PC . But i didn't fix. I dont think its a hardware problem. Any solution??

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. Hi, My screen suddenly stopped working as touch screen (it works in normal mode with the screen and the touchpad). The first times I restarted the computer several times until it worked, also to connect to the network seemed to help; however this time didn't do the trick. I used Lenovo Solution Center, and it didn't show any problem. I checked and updated the drivers in the Lenovo Yoga Mode Control and it seems I'm up-to-date. Now it doesn't want to change to tablet mode automatically anymore, neither to switch the screen to portrait. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi, I bought my yoga 720 laptop at least 2 months ago and everything was working fine until today when my touch screen was not working anymore. I have tried seeing if it was still activated or not, tried re-booting my laptop and it just will not work.Any suggestions? Thank you!CMS

Use the NOVO button to boot into bios and see if it works, there. If so, it's probably a Windows issue. I'd bet it failed after your computer updated to Windows 10 ver 1803. If it works in BIOS but not in Windows, you can use System Restore to roll back the computer to a point where the touchscreen works and let it take the Windows Update, again. Use Lenovo Vantage to make sure all your drivers and BIOS are up to date.

Tried the various drivers provided in other forum posts to no avail. It only started last night so I'm not sure what changed. Update, maybe, but no rollbacks have worked. My touch screen is not working at all, I have not done annything to damage it and it seems like a driver problem because my pen still woks, but not perfectly. The pen is laging when I use it in the senter of the screen and jumps a lot, but when it is at the sides or top/botom it works perfectly. I have updated the drivers for them but the problem is still there, pleace help

Hi, Since installing Windows 10, I am unable to use any functions of the touch screen.  I had a lot of trouble with the mouse pad not deactivating with the button (as I use a plug in mouse most of the time) but I managed to sort that by uninstalling the driver and reinstalling direct from Lenovo. However, the touch screen is making me come to my wits end.  I just cannot for the life of me sort it.  Windows tell me that "No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display" Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have recently (Dec 2015) purchased a Yoga 11e. The touch screen function has stopped working. Both Windows 10 and Lenovo Support apps say that all updates are in place. I suspect that a Windows update (~31 Jan 2016) might be the fault - could be wrong. Any ideas? Thanks. ps: I tad annoying the the "worlds biggest computer company" (or similar publicity claim) does not have a 24/7 web chat support function

I had the same problem.  After performing a clean-install of Windows 10 Pro (Did not like all that blotware that Lenovo puts in these systems) and "thinking" that I had installed all drivers, I found that touchscreen did not work.  I solved it by RE-installing the i2c drivers (downloaded from Yoga 11e support page).  It was confusing because there was nothing in Device Manager that indicated any drivers were missing, plus when I ran the .exe file for the i2c drivers all it did was "extract" the files, but it did not install anything!So here is how I went about it:  Opened device manager, clicked on "system devices" to locate the i2c device.  I looked for anything with "i2c" in it, and saw 2 entries: "Intel Atom Celeron Pentium Processor............i2c........[etc, etc]".  I went ahead and manually installed the drivers: right-clicked the item, clidked "update driver software", clidked "browse my computer for driver software", and navigated to where the driver files had been extracted to-as explained above.  After the drivers were installed successfully, the names of the devices changed to "i2c controller".  Rebooted the computer and VOILA! The touch screen worked again! Opened "control panel", "system" and there it said: "Touch Support With 10 Touch Points"

Hello, I recently upgraded the mechanical hard drive that came with my Yoga 11E to an ssd. I ran Lenovo system update and then Windows Update. But the touchscreen is not working. Under device manager there are a few exclamation points. Under Human Interface Devices there are 2 entries for I2C HID both have a warning. I tried to update them but it says they driver is update and the exclamation point remains. I am not sure if this is the reason why my touch screen is not working but any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I am having the same problem. After reimaging, touch screen is not responding. I too checked device manager and found there are 2 human interface device drivers with exclamation points, named I2c HID. A search found Intel device drivers on Lenovo support site and  I downloaded and installed the drivers (n15hc03w.exe). The status of the drivers on device manager did not change. I tried to update these drivers and pointed to the local folder drivers\win\I2C onbut got a message saying "drivers for device are up to date' . Tried 'scan for hardware' still no change to these Human Interface Device. Any ideas?

Our Yoga has totally and completely stopped responding to touchscreen inputs. Completely out of the blue, no warning signs. Don't know if it was recently after a Win10 update. No other problems with the computer. I've tried updating all HID drivers through Device Manager with no success either. Any suggestions for what to check before we call it a hardware failure and try to either replace the screen or the laptop?

My X1 Yoga's touch screen is not being detected by Windows. I tried running the Wacom firmware update tools suggested by other threads but they don't work -- the log file just says "No device". Neither finger touch nor pen work at all. I updated the bios and system interface foundation, didn't help. See attached picture for device manager. Any suggestions? Thanks!

did it ever work?  Did you do or install anything just before it stopped?  Look in the device manager and see if there are any problem devices?

I have a Yoga 11e and recently installed Windows 8.1 Enterprise on the device.  After installation the touch screen was no longer functoning at all.  I have downloaded every Chipset, Mouse and Key Board, Software and Utility driver found on the Lenavo website.  When i go to the device manager under Human Interface Devices I have two yellow triangles for I2C Device and when I click on Proerties they both tell me " This device is currently waiting on another device or set of devices to start. (Code 51)". I have installed the GPIO drvier from the lenavo website as per other posting about non-functioning touch screens.  This has not repaired the problem.  I need some assistance or a driver for the touchscreen.

Hello people! Shortly what has happened and what has been done. Machine arrived, not our companys common brand. Anyway, Well first action was to install windows 10(1607) from USB stick. Win 10 Enterprise clean. And plan was after that update the drivers. Yes and all partitions were cleaned during the installation. So no going back with those.  After installing everyhing. Touch screen is not working. I went trough the one topic that is located here on the page. Found the wacom firmware update package and updated all that was inside the package. Did use lenovo system update tool for updating everything imaginable there was. Also bios was update. At one point when I did the wacom firmware updates the PEN actually worked. But at that time the touch with finger didn't work. Well at that point I did continue updating and removing of devices/drivers and reinstalling. Well in the end I was again on the same situation that nothing on the "touch" screen works. Has anyone else had these experiences? I have started thinking that maybe there is actually some real malfunction on the touch screen.Last thing I have done is I tried to install the first release of windows 10 from usb. This came to state where it asks for country localization information and when I continue from there it just reboots and takes my back to that screen. So I'm in loop with that. I also strated to think about ordering the recovery media for the machine...but it would take time to ... Read more

I've had no problems with my yoga 2 pro for over a month, but last night I decided to do windows updates.  This is the model with the i7, and 8gb of ram.  I let it update and then restarted it.  After it started up, I tried to swipe the cover screen up, but nothing was happening.  I then decided to use the mouse, and soon realized that the touch screen was unresponsive.  I've tried to restore the computer to before the updates, but it hasn't fixed the problem.  I can still switch to tablet and stand mode, etc. and the screen will rotate, but I can not get the touch screen to respond to anything.  I tried to install some drivers, but none of them are for the touch screen as far as I know, and nothing else seems to work.  Does anyone know a fix, or maybe know of a driver I need to install?

Try refreshing Windows which fixes 90% of OS issues. Swipe from the right (Charm bar), Settings, Change PC settings, Update and Recovery, Recovery and choose Refresh Windows.

Dear all, last weekend, I had a double upgrade of Win10 as well as Lenovo driver. I did not check the functionality of the screen in between. Touch screen does not work (neither pen nor fingers). Screen w/o touch works properly.- There is no driver (human interface drivers > HID-compliant touch screen) been shown in the device manager.- the HID-compliant touch screen appears twice in view - Show Hidden Devices section. Hi,I suddenly noticed that my touch screen is not working. I have tried to update driver for HID-compliant touch screen (however best driver was alread used). Also tried to disable/enable the device but still no function. Hi I recently purchased my Lenovo Yoga 720 off of Amazon (less than a month). After going through all the Windows and BIOS updates through Lenovo Companion, I ran into an issue where the touch screen would stop responding. Sometimes upon start up, the touch screen would be unresponsive up until a restart/shut down. Sometimes even restarting/shutting down wouldn't solve the problem. The touch screen was unresponsive more times than responsive during the duration I've owned this laptop. I read in Lenovo forums that factory resetting the laptop and disabling updates would alleviate the problem. I did so through Windows 10's hard disk wiping feature. I disabled automatic updates through Command Prompt and didn't run any updates through Lenovo Companion. This seems to have fixed the issue for the most part, however, I still notice that sometimes the touch screen will stop responding after waking the computer from "Display Off."  Is this a problem such as that with the fan noise, that was fixed months later in a BIOS update? Has anyone been able to use the touch screen flawlessly? Sometimes mid-way through laptop usage, the touch screen will become unresponsive and then become responsive minutes or seconds later. I'll probably continue to use the laptop with automatic updates turned off, but that would mean I miss the current updates and have to constantly check forums to verify that the problem is fixed     Could anyone offer insight into this?

I tried to do system recovery, install new drivers for graphic cards which it was suggested by an engineer at Lenovo and do all things I can do.But all method is not a solution.I just found an error message of the problem which is assumed and it is "Port_#0007.Hub_#0001" on 'device manager' (under 'human interface device')Could you help me please T^T. I really hate to change my mainboard ..

I recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 300 11IBY laptop. It had windows 10 installed on it. I formatted it and clean installed Windows 8.1. I downloaded all the drivers from the Lenovo support site. However, the I2C and GPIO driver is not getting installed. It says "The platform is not supported". Also, the touchscreen is not working at all. What should I do?

Hi, have upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and the touch screen is not working so unable to use in tablet mode. I have run Lenovo system update and all devices are showing OK in device manager.When I go to about PC in Windows 10 I get "no pen or touch input is available for this display".Have installed drivers from Lenovo website for chipset, gpio, sideband, monitor and display. No success.Everything else is working OK. Any suggestions?
