Games using intel hd graphics instead of amd mobility radeon

Q: Games using intel hd graphics instead of amd mobility radeon

I have an HP Pavilion g6 1202tx. I have all my games switched to high performance in dynamic mode using catalyst control center. One day when I opened game settings in pes 14 game launcher and opened specs tab, I saw that under my GPU was written Intel(R) HD Graphics Family ‎(PS5.0/VS5.0)‎ and not AMD, with a Bad rating beside it. So, surely pes 14 is using Intel(R) HD Graphics Family ‎(PS5.0/VS5.0)‎ as GPU and not AMD. And this may be the reason for poor performance of all my games(L.A Noire runs with 11 fps even in the lowest settings,
GTA 4 with 20 fps in lowest settings). You can get specs for my laptop by googling HP Pavilion g6 1202tx. Also,
is fixed graphics mode better than dynamic mode?

Preferred Solution: Games using intel hd graphics instead of amd mobility radeon

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It's all about the power profile mode you're using. If it's set to balanced, your laptop will swap GPUs that will depend on the application. If it's set to High-Performance, it will only use a dedicated GPU (if there's any). If it's set to low-power state then it'll only use the integrated ones.

I've just installed Windows 7 Pro 32-bit on my Acer 8935G notebook. Along with my ATI 4670 I have an onboard Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family display adapter.

*My problem is that I cannot seem to have my notebook utilize my ATI adapter rather than the built-in (and inferior) Intel adapter, it seems to want to use the Intel by default.

In device manager, both display adapters are reported to be working fine and without error. I have also already downloaded and successfully installed the latest ATI Catalyst display driver for Windows 7 32bit.

What can I do so solve this? What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.

So I've installed Windows 8 Release Preview and I enjoy it so far. Though, I have a major problem. When I upgraded from Win764bit i noticed that my WoW FPS went from 60fps to 15. It seemed like I was only running on the integrated graphics card from my first gen i3 processor. It suddenly gave me a message that the current installed catalyst center is not compitable with the current graphics driver. So I installed the latest catalyst center for Win8 release preview, and my FPS went straight up! But then I noticed that i could't adjust my brightness. It was stuck on either 100, 50 or 0% depending on restarttimes and such (really weird) but the brightness was depending on the Intel graphics card. So I reinstalled it and the brightness was now fine again but... The ATI graphics wont work. What Is weird is that when I install a new driver, i have to choose the second monitor to see my screen as my main monitor is disabled (running on a laptop) instead of having my main laptop enabled. But, when my screen is extended right after the Intel install the ATI card and brightness work probably, but when i select 1 screen only it disables. In the device manager it says they both work probably, my in the task bar the catalyst client aint showing up.

So basicly they cant both run on the same time and my main monitor is displayed as my second.

The laptop I'm having problems with is an HP Envy 14 with an i5-520, ATI Radeon HD 5650 / Intel HD Graphics, 6 GB RAM, and is running Windows 7 x64. I think the video card driver is causing graphical issues in some of my games (i.e. The Sims 3, Divinity 2). The problem itself is hard to describe other than things look really distorted and streaky. The games worked fine when I last played them a while ago, but after updating the video card driver and going back to test them, they no longer do. I only updated the driver yesterday when I noticed the textures in a newly installed game were so poor it was as if I had the settings on low. In fact, the Intel GPU performed much better. Updating the driver didn't fix it. I noticed the problems with Divinity 2 right before I updated the driver so I'm not sure what that means. I know I didn't have any issues when I initially played it a year ago. The Sims 3 I know was working fine several weeks ago, but I hadn't played it again until after doing the update yesterday. So I'm not sure if it's the driver update causing issues or just something else going on with the video card.

I've tried uninstalling the drivers, reinstalling them, rolling them back, and installing an older version. The version I updated to is 8.771.1.0 but when I try to rollback or install the older version, the device manager still says its the newer version (older one is 8.741.1.3000). I'm not sure if I'm just doing so... Read more

Dear Sirs, good evening.
I ask for your help in the present clarification, if possible, pf.
I have a laptop, model Satellite L650 and since the last two weeks the screen resolution has changed - I came to have a maximum resolution of 1024X768. The settings do not allow you to change to higher resolution.
It has ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 graphics card
I tried online to understand what was going on and found evidence that it may have to do with Windows 10. AMD's own website states that:
"Products That Do Not Support Windows? 10
AMD Radeon ? HD 4000 Series products and older are not certified to support Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 1.2 or higher and therefore do not have driver support for Windows? 10.
The following is a list of graphics products that do not support Windows? 10:
ATI Radeon ? HD 4000 Series / ATI Mobility Radeon ? HD 4000 Series Graphics "
Can you help me figure out how I can solve this problem?

Thank you all for any help

Does anybody have any experience with that yet?

A:ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 Graphics (switchable)

Evgeniy64 That's probably NOT going to work because the ONLY drivers that will work on PCs with Switchable Graphics are those provided by the OEM -- in this case, HP.  If HP does not have Win10 drivers for your model PC, the Upgrade will be a disaster. If you can, please follow the directions in this link to find the detailed product number of your PC: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001If that is not possible, then look for a sticker on the PC that includes the product number and post that here.  If the battery is removable, the sticker is likely to be in the battery compartment. With this information, I can check to see if there are HP Win10 drivers for your PC. We can proceed once you provide the information. Thanks

You may have a bit of a problem.

I don't know about the Inspiron, but notebook manufacturers sometimes use custom device IDs for their onboard graphics. The generic AMD installer may not recognize your graphics.

You could try contacting Dell, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if they offered support for Windows 8 prior to its retail availability (26 October).

I knew about this problem going in to Windows 7, I figured ATI or Dell would have a fix for me by now but they don't. Wasn't a big deal until I got my new 23' 1900x1080 monitor. Now I am having this problem.

Since I got windows 7 its seems my ATI card has been on the fritz. I can't use Catalyst Control Center and when I play games they don't fill the screen on certain resolutions.

I recently got a new monitor and on its recommend resolution (1900x1080) it has about an inch black border around it. I've done some research and I believe I could solve this if I could open the Catalyst Control Center but I am unable to despite having tried to download multiple versions of the drivers.

I have a Dell Studio 15 if that makes any difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Problems with Windows 7 and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Graphics card.

What do the display properties report the resolution as? If it's whatever the maximum is, perhaps the pixels don't take up the whole screen area (unusual on a flat panel, but possible I guess).
If it's set at a lower resolution than the maximum resolution of the screen, look for a setting that will allow stretching of the display (as opposed to letterbox). Might look something like this:

P.S: I noticed you mention 1900x1080. Are you sure it's not 1920x1080 (1080p)? If not, could that be the reason for the extra black border?

I just installed Windows 8 Enterprise Trial version on HP nx9420 laptop (2GHz dual core prosessor, 4gb memory, ATI Motility Radeon X1600 graphics card with 256mb own memory, 1680x1050 native display resolution) on second partition, side by side with existing
Windows 7.
Installation succeeded perfect, except Windows 8 couldn't install, nor did find from Windows Update display driver for ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics card. Only Microsoft generic display driver was installed and it offered maximum 1450x800 resolution,
so not laptops native 1680x1050 screen resolution.
Windows 7 can install working ATI driver right from Windows Update for that graphics card (version 8.561.0.0 dated 1.12.2008).
Laptop manufacturer HP has latest, old driver for Vista (version 8.453.0.0 dated 22.1.2008), so I installed that, selecting compatibility mode Vista with setup-program in Windows 8. That installed, but seems to have some problems, telling of missing library,
maybe with some ATI extra diplay manager software and C++ 2005 library, that it installed.
MY QUESTION: Is there some problems with Windows 8 and that ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics card? Why isn't the Windows 7 -version of ATI mobility radeon X1600 display driver available in Windows Update for Windows 8 too?

A:ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics card Windows 8 driver missing

So the problem with Windows 8 64-bit installation now is, that it can't install drivers for ATI Mobility Radeon x1600, neither from Win 8 64-bit installation media, nor from Windows Update -service - it just installs generic windows display driver.
If one installs older Vista-version drivers for that graphics card, there may be problems that on boot laptop flickers several minutes display and then either gives Windows 8 login screen or just keeps flickering, varying time to time.

I know that there is latest legacy driver package at ATI, but that doesn't support Mobility Radeon Xnnn-models, it only supports plain Xnnn-models. If one tries to install with that, it says that graphic card (so mobility radeon -models) isn't supported.
 So these won't work.

A:AMD Radeon HD/Intel switchable graphics

flcph2015 Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the situation is that you should not have done the Win10 Upgrade.  Their Upgrade tool does a really poor job of detecting switchable graphics prior to the updrade, and as a result, folks like you end up with machines that are no longer fully functional.  Same thing happened to me. With switchable graphics, the only working drivers come from the OEMs that make the machines, because the hardware is customized, so to have to be the drivers.  MS does not supply these drivers, nor do the video card makers. So, without HP Win10 drivers for your PC, you're stuck with only two outcomes:1) Keep Win10 and struggle with the graphics problem2) Return your PC to the original OS. I chose the second because I prefer a PC with an older OS where everything worked, to a PC with a new OS, where some things do not work.

A:AMD Radeon HD/Intel switchable graphics

Marko91 HP laptops, especially the older Win7 machines, often came with two different graphics chips -- and Intel and then, either an AMD or Nvidia.  This was known as Switchable Graphics or Hybrid Graphics.  You ran using the Intel chip most of the time, but when you needed extra graphics power, like in Gaming, the PC automatically switched over to using the AMD or Nvidia graphics chip.Problem is, this requires special graphics drivers to work, and while those came preinstalled on the Win7 laptops, those drivers simply do not exist for Win10.  Those drivers are not available from Intel, AMD, or Nvidia.  A way to tell if your PC has two different graphics chips is to look in Device Manager under Display Adapters.  If there are two different adapters listed, one Intel and one AMD/Nividia, then you have this problem -- and if you force an upgrade to Win10, you will have serious graphics problems and your machine will not work. Please follow these directions to find the detailed product number for your laptop:  Finding Your HP Product Model Number | HP® Customer Support With that information, I can see if there are HP Win10 vide drivers for your laptop. We can proceed once you provide the information. Thanks

I just reformatted a Samsung laptop and am trying to get it all loaded and patched back up again. The laptop has a AMD Radeon HD 7400M graphics adapter. So after getting it up and running (at a low resolution obviously), I downloaded and installed the latest AMD graphics driver w/ the Catalyst Control Center thingy. Now the display is at the native 1600x900, but Device Manager shows both the AMD graphics adapter and Intel HD Graphics 3000 adapter.

Why are there two listed? I tried removing the Intel adapter earlier and the display went all wonky back to the previous 1024x768 resolution.

I'm the type of computer user who likes to get rid of stuff that's not needed. So are both graphics adapters really needed?

A:Why do I need Intel HD 3000 graphics with AMD Radeon HD?

The two graphics systems are needed to support the hybrid system used on many of today's laptops, the Intel is used for general low graphics intensive applications and the AMD is used for certain higher requirements such as games. The purpose of the dual system is to conserve power when possible and only use the power for the HQ graphics when it is actually needed

Your PC is a desktop, not a notebook. Desktop PCs do not have switchable graphics. That is a high-end notebook feature. The Omen 15 has it. When a video card is installed, the Intel HD graphics is disabled and the video you have is proviided by the video card only. Which specific games did you try to run? There is a website called Can I run it? that willl give you a report on the hardware in your PC and specific gameshttp://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri If your PC won't run specific games it could be because of the entry level graphics and Intel CPU that is installed in the motherboard. Your desktop PC is not meant for gaming. It is an entry level productivity desktop PC.

The problem is my graphics card. When I had Windows 10, in the dxdiag page I had the following tabs:System

Basically on the Display tab, the Intel HD Graphics 5500 is displayed and on the Render tab, I had the AMD Radeon HD 8500M.

Now that I downgraded to Windows 7 (installed all updates including SP1), the Render tab is no longer there.

I have checked the device manager and saw both cards listed and active with no errors.

I did the following:Updated Drivers for both Intel and AMD graphics
Uninstalled all graphic drivers and reinstalled Intel first then AMD
Changed the settings on the AMD graphics controller to Maximum Performance on the game I am playing

I do not know what I am missing here.

I am really looking forward to a solution.

Thank you in advance, gentlemen!

I have a compaq presario with onboard graphics and I installed a rad 9250-I disabled the onboard plugged the monitor into the new one and everything worked fine until I turned it off and restarted and it recognized the old board again. the computer froze. I had to pull the new card and plug the monitor into the old slot. I've already put it into bios PCI so by all rights it shouldn't recognize the old board. Can I turn automatic hardware detection off? Or any other suggestions?

A:Intel Onboard Graphics And New Radeon 9250

I figured it out for myself,

1) Click start --> click Run
2) Type services.msc --> click ok
3) Select shell hardware detection --> right click --> select
4) Choose disabled in the startup type --> click apply and ok.

It worked and everything is ok now, but thanks for being here!!!!

I am considering buying a new laptop (both are HP) and was hoping to get an answer to which processor would better suit me..I don't game a whole ton, so no worries in that. I'm looking for the best bang for the buck and the one that will last the most. They both are roughly the same price out the door with tax.

Core i7 Intel? HD Graphics 4400 or AMD A8-Series AMD Radeon HD 8210 which is going to be better in the long run.

Thank you all,

I hope everybody can help this.
This morning, i upgraded my Intel HD Graphics 3000 because some programs force me to update it. But, I don't know why, after restaring my laptop, I see that the graphics has changed from Radeon to HD Graphics. You know, HD Graphics is only have 64 MBs of its RAM. Different far away from my Radeon that has 1024 MBs of RAM.

And when I try to playing some games, it says, "Your Graphics card doesn't meet the system requirement". It is very sucks. And then, checking the Device Manager it doesn't show my Radeon graphics anymore.

I want to change my graphics back to Radeon, but can't. I've tried every step from the internet and still not work. There is no message something like this in my desktop: "Switchable Graphics Driver". And every start, the Catalyst Control Center says: "Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics card. Please update your AMD graphics driver or enable your AMD adapter using Displays Manager.". I have followed this from internet:

Click "Start."
Click "Control Panel."
Click "Display."
Click "Change Display Settings."
Click "Advanced Settings."
Click the "Adapter" tab. Select the ATI adapter from the list on screen. Click "Properties."
Click the "Driver" tab.
Click "Enable" to enable the ATI ad... Read more

Alright so I've got a serious problem here, my manufacturer which is ASUS in my case will NOT be supporting this graphcis card or the computer itself so I'm left out in the dark.
I have tried with everything and I came to the conclusion that modded drivers works the best which still is pretty bad(switchable Graphics profiles are not saved - Adding Photoshop for example today results that in a week it will be wiped out and the performance will be zero)

The generic AMD drivers does not work, the HP drivers works 50-50, I can Control Everything with switchable Graphics
except for the manual program adding and the modded leshcat drivers are not of my liking.

Considering the fact that AMD supports ENDURO on the whole Radeon HD 7000M series I would expect it to work on the generic drivers.

So if anyone got anything that could help my situation I would gladly hear you out.

I'm thinking that using the modded drivers will be my last desperate move.

P.S. I'm also not using the newest Intel Drivers as they are reported to cause problems

This is my system

Dell Dimension 3000
Intel pentium 4
2.8 GHZ 512 RAM
windows XP (sp2)
Intel extreme graphics 2 onboard video

The video card im trying to install is a
Radeon X800 PCI series

When I try to disable the video card it seems to only reset my graphics settings to 8 bit and 800 x 600 resolution, I've looked at other posts here about the Intel extreme graphics 2 and I know that it will consistently try to reinstall its driver if uninstalled. My ATI Catalyst software will not install itself for some reason. I put in the disc and it goes through the installation process, aburptly stops but it doesn't install any ATI things onto the computer, when I look in my control panel afterwards there are no ATI things in there whatsoever.

I know this video card works and everything cause it was working in my other dimension 3000 even before I disabled the onboard video on that computer it allowed the ATI software to be on the computer. I tried getting the latest drivers from ATI but when trying to install them it pops up a message saying
"Setup was unable to find components that can be installed under your current hardware or software configurations. Please make sure you have the right required hardware or software"
what does that mean? Im not sure what hardware or software I may be missing...

any idea as to what I should do? Thanks in advance!

Hi, my laptop is overheating and wasting power because it is always running my ATI Radeon mobility graphics card. I have switchable graphics, and I want the computer to ALWAYS start up using Intel HD graphics.

I cannot find ANY settings to make Intel HD the default graphics card.

I have tried uninstalling ATI radeon graphics card. It always reinstalls AND SWITCHES to it on startup.

How can I make Intel HD the primary graphics card(PREFERRED), or completely remove ATI radeon so it never reinstalls the drivers after I have uninstalled it?

A:Disable ATI radeon switchable graphics or use Intel HD by default

There would be an option in your BIOS to disable/enable onboard graphic chip. Also look for something along the lines 'Init Display first' (though these differ bios to bios) and select 'Onboard' or similar equivalent option.

You can also disable your radeon card through Device manager. Open Start menu, type 'Device Manager' and select it from the list displayed. Look for the card>right click>disable.

If unsure, post a screenshot and we'll work you out through the steps.

I bought a HP Elite 8460p notebook, and it comes with Intel HD Graphics 3000 and a dedicated AMD Radeon HD 6470M.
It came preinstalled with Windows 7. And I quickly removed it and installed Windows 8.1 pro from scratch, I formed that hard drive, but not the recovery drive.
After I installed with 8.1 I noticed that the dedicated graphics card was not installed and the drivers aren't there. I tried Snappy Driver Installer, I tried the driver from HP for it. I've even tried suggested route from hp's forum, AMD Radeon HD 6470m Driver for Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit -"Hp ... - HP Support Forum - 3073197

But I am unable to find those two drivers with those versions anywhere listed on the HP forum where some users state that that technique/solution does work.
I'm not sure what todo, I really don't want to go to Windows 7. As I have purchased Windows 8.1 Professional.
I've ran speccy, and it does not show a second graphics card. I see no options anywhere on this computer for switchable graphics, and I do not see anything in device manager installed or missing.

Can someone please help me out?

A:HP 8460p Intel HD Graphics 3000, Radeon 6470M not working.

The link is to the HP Support page with Win8.1 drivers for your PC. I would install the Chipset drivers (because they probably include the Intel video drivers, as well) and the AMD video drivers: Drivers & Software for HP EliteBook 8460p Notebook PC - HP Support Center.

I'm planning on just pruchasing a computer which will have this card, and a couple other specs I'll list.
2.8GHz 2nd Generation Intel Core i7-2600S processor; 8MB Cache
8GB system memory (2x4GB)
1.0TB hard drive
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Radeon HD 6570 Graphics with 1GB DDR3 dedicated memory
And my monitor resolution is 1600 x 1050, thought I might upgrade screens soon. Nothing bigger than 27" though, the one I currently have is 22".

Basically I wanna know if this computer will be capable of running the listed games on atleast high smoothly.

Battlefield 3
Call Of Duty Black Ops
Saints Row The Third
Team Fortress 2
Dirt 3
Assassins Creed Revelations
Batman Arkam City
Crysis 2
L.A. Noire
Dead Space 2
Duke Nukem Forever
Sonic Generations
APB Reloaded
Serious Sam 3 BFE

A:Is the Radeon HD 6570 Graphics able to run games on high?

Unlikely, the Radeon HD 6570 is an entry level gaming card, plenty of reviews out on it.

As an example the recommended cards for BF3 are a Geforce GTX 560 or a Radeon HD 6950.

If you are gamer then you'll want a way better graphics, probably nothing less then a Radeon HD 6850 if you have a tight budget, but preferably one of the above mentioned cards.

Hi my name is James

I am running a Dell dimension 2400 with 256mb ram, celeron processer 2.4 ghz and Intel extreme graphics, and 40 gb hdd and the rest.

I just brought a 256 mb PCI card made by powercolor, built with radeon 9200 technology. Not pci express just straight PCI

Followed the instructions, pluged card in, turned on computer,go into the device manager and i get a yellow
"!" mark with the code 12 error against my card.

Uninstalled onboard intel extreme graphics controller, its model thing is ...
Intel® 82845G Graphics Controller it has 64mb of video ddr ram
Um well as soon as i uninstalled it and rebooted, windows would automactically recongise it again and then yeah. it would become default.
So i disabled it and now its outta use. yay =)
I am currently running off the default windows vgasave graphics thing and i still have the error code 12 on my radeon.

I have installed catallyst, downloaded specific drivers from the powercolor site, installed those and i get either

TUL corporation, RADEON 9200 SERIES ver. [5/3/2006]

just the plain

RADEON 9200 SERIES ver. [5/3/2006]

Well i am using the plain Radeon 9200 series driver ^
And have tried both with no luck.

I read somewhere that i should not use the microsoft drivers
so i steered clear.

Then i saw that I should try adjusting the agp apeture in the bios setup.
To have it under 64mb.
I dont even have a agp slot!! but it couldnt hurt.

Hi: I just recently got a Compaq Presario CQ57-339wm Laptop PC.It has Win 7 HP 64bit installed.I've upgraded the memory to 8gb.Intel Celeron B800 1.5gb CPUIntel HD Graphics. And it has the New HM65 Chipset. My question is this. While I know it will not run High End Games. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get "FULL SCREEN GRAPHICS" when playing Simple Games like Empire Earth, Dungeon Lords, Solitaire, Chess, Build a Lot, etc? On a laptop with Intel Graphics awhile back I could go into the Graphics Ctrl Panel and select the Stretch to Screen Size option and it would give me Full Screen Graphics.BUT!!!When I go into the Graphics Ctrl panel now I see NO such option. What gives?I don't expect it to run High end graphics but for crying out loud I should at least be able to enjoy a Full screen Size of 1366x768 instead of aspect ratio graphics. Any help I'd be grateful...
