I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Every now and then, the screen for my M93Z will become very fuzzy and the colours will skew towards green(ish). Sometimes, temporarily shutting off the screen fixes the issue, sometimes even switching between programs helps (if say one program was a full screen isntance and then the screen goes completely black while switching). Any idea how I can solve this? I am wondering if it's an overheating issue, a graphics issue, or a driver issue... Next time it happens I will take a picture and try to upload it on to here... I tried to screen shot it when it happened but the screenshot picture looks normal :/

My slave monitor will not wake up. When I turn it off and on I see the proper background display for a brief instant but then it goes blank. I have tried disabling the slave terminal and re-enabling it but that doesn't help. If i leave it connected I do see the power light flash when the system screen sleeps and go solid when it wakes up...so i know its talking.

With no cable installed I can not bring up the menu or see the "check signal cable" box. Is it dead?

Thanks
GBurtt

A:Samsung 22" Monitor 226BW will not wakeup

as it is a slave, try connecting it as a master or primary monitor. If no signal it is probably dead.
Before you condemn it, just check that the settings are not off the clock - I once revived a monitor as if by magic as the contrast and brightness had been set to 0 on both counts - set them bacl to 50% and all was happy happy joy joy.

For no apparent reason, PC does no longer wakes up from sleep.  Before making this request, I have already done the following: A) checked and confirmed that my Video card driver is the latest available and the device is working properlyB) Rebooted from cold start several timesC) Checked to make sure the keyboard is enabled to wake the computerD) Checked the HP Support Assistant to verify I have the latest BIOS and lack no other updatesE) Double Checked Control Panel/Power Options/Edit Plan Settings Computer is to never sleep After the time selected in Edit Plan Settings for Turn Off the Display expires, the monitor goes dark, and will no amount of mouse or keyboard action has any effect.  The system must be powered down with the PC power button and rebooted.  I have not installed any apps in many months.  Two days ago, we did have a power interruption that required that I reboot the router, but that was the only unusual event.  This sleep problem evidenced itself AFTER the power interruption, but I cannot specifically link it to that as a potential cause. What should I try next in troubleshooting?

Hi, I am having a problem regarding waking up from standby mode, after going to standby I have to press a key to wake up either from my mouse or keyboard...sometimes when I press a button to wake up my computer will not wake:? It will switch on and the light will go from blue (on) to orange (standby) about 4-6 times and then it will stay on orange (standby) and I will not get anything on the screen and have to force shutdown by holding the power button:/ When I restart it will say resuming Windows (I do not go into hybernate mode tho) and take a little time to load me back to the loggin screen. This has been happening since I have upgraded my RAM by installing 2GB more into my system... I had also upgraded my graphics card but did not have any problems...I have this problem more if I have my USB TV Tuner card pluged in so I tend to have it unplugged most of the time:/ I am thinking could it be my PSU? I have a 300W standard and having 4 RAM modules and a graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 4650) plus fans etc... I can play games like AVP and GTA IV with no problems so could it be power drain:? NOTE: The first time I had a BSoD when waking up nbut have not had it since.

Thanks in advanced for the help

A:Standby Wakeup Issue

It is more than likely down to your PSU. According to AMD, the ATI Radeon HD 4600 series of graphics cards requires a PSU rated at a minimum of 400W.

ATI Radeon?„? HD 4600 Series System Requirements

What graphics card did you have originally? If you also have on-board graphics, try using that to see if the problem goes away.

What can i say, GJ MS that you didnt manage to fix this bug that was present from build ~7068 onward (was fine before) and now we have RTM and its still here (and its serious imo).

If you have auto-hide taskbar turned on and no active window (or active taskbar) when your monitor goes to sleep, it will sometimes take ****loads of time that desktop will become active after monitor wakeup. Everyone can test this one for them self, put taskbar on auto-hide and put monitor sleep on 1min (this time actualy doenst matter but to speed up testing). Make sure you have no active open window or active taskbar (taskbar must be in hidden state). Then let monitor go to sleep and wake it up in lets say 10min (needs to be bit longer period of time, because "stuck" time depends on how long monitor was in sleep mode). You will get inital desktop but then desktop will be unresponsive for a while. This usualy doesnt happen on 1st time after system reboot, but it does every other time for sure. SIGH! Only solution to make sure you are not geting this is, having auto-hide taskbar turned off. This happens on EVERY computer at my home (2 laptops, 3 desktops), doesnt matter on type of monitor or graphic card.

I'll skip all the backstory and cut to the chase.  Have formatted my hard drive.  I have a Windows 10 USB installer and a DVD installer.  I can boot both of the installers but once Windows Setup loads the keyboard and mouse immediately stop working.  From what I've read Windows 10 has built-in USB 3 drivers - which seems like it is working since Windows Setup is running from the USB thumb drive.  I just can't click Next to proceed with setup since the keyboard deactivated (no Num Lock or Caps Lock).  Keyboard works just fine in BIOS. I don't think Setup is not locking up.  The reason I am at this point is because the keyboard and mouse stopped working in my 8.1 install.  (I could remote control using my remote app, but no local keyboard and mouse).  Was able to upgrade to 10 which worked but still no keyboard and mouse.   Tried different ports and different keyboards. The BIOS does not have a way to disable xHCI on the USB that I could find. Any ideas?

The dump file show the possible root cause is HIDCLASS.sys. Could someone explain the detail of fail reason? How to solve the problem?

A:wakeup from S3, windows 8 enter BSOD

I'm uncertain what the BUGCHECK_STR: AV means. I'd guess that it stands for "Access Violation" - but that's not applicable (AFAIK) in a STOP 0x133 error

The PROCESS_NAME: System is merely the process that the thread was executing in when the crash occurred. Most references will say that this doesn't matter in debugging a crash - but I find that if it's repeatedly the same process (and not a Windows process), then it might be significant.

As for the analysis, it's not simply a matter of what's listed as the cause. The cause occurs where the crash occurs - but take this for example:

A driver (call it xyz.sys) writes to memory space owned by the HIDCLASS.sys driver
Then the xyz.sys driver exits - and no trace of it remains on the system
Then HIDCLASS.sys attempts to access that memory space - and finds the wrong info there.
At that point it "panics" and crashes the system.
So, the cause is listed as HIDCLASS.sys - but the real culprit is xyz.sys (which is nowhere to be found).

Then comes the detective work!
First, we assume that 90+% of BSOD's are caused by 3rd party (non-Windows) drivers
Then, we assume that the majority of the remainder are due to hardware issues/failures
Finally, we assume that a small percentage (less than 1% IME) are due to Windows problems.

In many BSOD's we find that Windows drivers are blamed (like HIDCLASS.sys is blamed here). The thought process we use here is that Windows has protection mechanisms built into it to protec... Read more

Hello Everyone,

I just upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 on my Asus G73jh after checking compatibility on Sunday. It worked all day Sunday, but on Monday when I woke up the computer it moved for a minute and then froze completely. After powering off and turning it back on it did the same thing when I started it and tried to open firefox. After that I restarted the computer again and it didn't freeze. Today after waking the computer up again it froze again. This time powering off and on fixed it.

I am also realizing while typing this that the keyboard now seems sluggish in comparison to Windows 7.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on right now and how to fix it?

A:Windows 10 freezing on startup and wakeup

Likely outdated drivers (but that's just a SWAG - Scientific Wild A**ed Guess)
Make sure that you have all Windows Updates, then go to the Asus website and get ALL available Win10 drivers for your system.
If there aren't Win10 drivers available (or if the new drivers don't help), post back with this info:

1)  Please provide this information (even though you may not be reporting BSOD's) so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum):  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/
2)  Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

Hello, I have a Lenovo IdeaPad and I am missing a feature that my previous MacBook had. Opening the lid on this laptop does nothing, I have to physically push the Power Button for it to wake up. Is there a way for me to turn on the feature to wake when opening? I have gone through Power Management and the Devices/Hardware and have not seen that setting. Only comments related are that I can have it do something when closing. The ACPI lid driver is from the beginning of time, 2006, I am surprised since this laptop is just a few days old that there is such an old driver still being used. Is there something there?

Shortly after every time my Windows wakes from sleep I get an EventID 11 error:

This is for a Western Digital 3TB USB 3 external drive. I have not seen any other recent problems with the drive. (I shuffled around several external drives a few days ago so I can't tie DR2 to a specific drive in older event records.)

Is this anything to worry about, or is it just a timing problem?

Hello pokeefe0001!

I'm sorry for the issue you're having!

Which model of external WD drive is this? What other drives (internal or external) do you have? Please post a screenshot of Disk Management.

This could be a problem with the controller the HDD is connected to, which is basically a motherboard issue. Still, try the drive on another system, restart a few times, see if the same error comes up.

I know Windows 10 is new and that we will all experience more or less serious bugs over the next months. For the most part Windows 10 really works well on my Iconia W510. I post this as a thread here to see if I am the only one who has to enter the system password on wakeup even though it is disabled? I have disabled require password on wakeup on the Power Options page and when I recheck, it is disabled. But, every time I wakey the PC up from sleep I still have to enter the system password. Compared to most of the other reported problems here and elsewhere with Windows 10, I know I should not complain But it is still annoying.

This has been happening for a while but it only ever happens after wake-up from sleep and it's back up again in 5 seconds flat so it's never bothered me too much.

If I catch the error I believe it's PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. Running Windbg on the minidumps gives a range of causes, memory_corruptions, fileinfo.sys, ntkrnlmp.exe

Apparently this is either bad memory or driver. I ran memtester86 for 8 passes and my memory came up clear so I'm thinking bad drivers. I followed the instructions for driver verifier but unfortunately my system will BSOD when booting with DRIVER VERIFIER IO MANAGER VIOLATION error so I have to enter safe mode and disable it.

Brief specs:

Memory 16GB Kingston DDR3
GTX 780 Ti
Windows 8.1 Version 6.3.9600 Build 9600

I have attached 2 minidumps, one is a "regular" BSOD and the other is what I get when booting with driver verifier enabled. If anyone could take a look that would be great.

Hi,
I have a 4-month old Dell Inspiron N411Z with Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit. I have been noticing that it has trouble "waking up" after sleep or hibernate, when I open the lid, after it was left on from the previous usage, I have to hit power button and it boots up with the first screen being safe mode, start windows normally, etc. I get the unexpected shutdown screen. It then boots normally and all is well, until I close the lid and let it sit, this happens whether it is plugged up or not.
My first thought was to adjust power settings, sleep/hibernate timers, etc. I have tried nearly every combination, down to choosing "never sleep or hibernate" and still have the same result upon starting up again. I have scoured forums, updated drivers, tested and tried nearly all advice that I have found and can't seem to resolve this.
Upon reviewing my Event Viewer, I am consistently getting the same errors nearly every time.

Hi

I currently have my machine set up with three monitors. Everything is correctly configured through the screen resolution settings inside windows. Including my Primary Screen Selected, however when i launch a full-screen application like a game etc all three monitors flicker in and out, with the device connection/disconnection sounds.

I was under the impressing a full-screen application would launch on the primary monitor, leaving the other two unaffected? The system works fine using two monitors.

Screen Setup:

1x 1400x900 Primary Screen
Flanked by 2x 1280x1024 Screens

I'm using a Radeon R9 270X, with the latest beta catalyst drivers, however setting the screens up using eyefinity proved difficult with the altering dimensions of the monitors.

Hoping someone can give some advice on this issue

I am running Windows 7 and using an HP 2159m HD Widescreen Monitor. I have successfully installed the monitor driver from Hp and under the display properties then it is recognized. I am also using an HDMI splitter to transmit the desktop to an LCD TV in another room. On the TV the desktop shows and also the sound of whatever is being played on the desktop.

My problem is that once the LCD TV is running then upon computer reboot then the HP 2159m monitor isn't recognized as being the dominate and no longer has controls to change the screen size. Under display the LCD TV shows up as eldft406 1920x1080 and that screen size can be changed but not the HP monitor and when I click on the blank secondary then it shows ati radeon hd 4250 but does not give any control to change the screen size making the HP monitor much smaller then it's 21" size. Changing the display setting for the eldft406 only makes the Hp 2159m look worse.

Is this a monitor profile issue? Is this something that cannot be corrected or what is it that I need to do to make sure that the HP is the monitor and not the LCD TV. Is there software that can ensure these profiles work correctly? I am truly stumped at what to do to correct this and have it stay that way.

Anyone's help is greatly appreciated.

When the power came back, the screen was black but on, and the computer was on. I hit buttons on the side until a box popped up saying "Check Signal Cables" with Digital beneath it. I have checked the cable plugging it into the other slot, rebooted both machines multiple times, but nothing has worked.

Hi group!Little trouble here. We are trying to enable VT-x technology on our M93z AIO and can't seem to get a straight answer. Is this even possible? We've tried every possible BIOS update. Nothing appears to be working. Maybe someone here can help. Thank you!

Sorry and we may have forgotten to mention we are using Windows 7 enterprise.

First off I don't even like Metro, but I want to like it.
With three monitors > (The black lines is where my bezel is)
A lot of the tiles are where the bezels of my monitors are, so it looks really bad.
Is there any way to create 3 "groups" that are restricted from being in certain areas?

A:Windows 8 - Triple Monitor Issue

If you hit the "-" button way over on the lower left on your far left monitor, it will shrink the Tiles area, then you can move the groups around and name them. That might give you a start. But you have to first arrange each group how you want them. Then when you press "-" you can move them to the monitor you want.

I hate Metro too, I don't WANT to like it heh. But I like what you got going there.

We got in office new AIO ThinCenre M93Z. When turning on the PC, there is no noise at all; however after working 2 hours, the noise of fan drives everybody in room crazy. It not so loud, however it sounds like wind around the blocks in autumn and the noise is not at same frequence but always going up and down, depending on speed of fan.We already checked internet for ours, nothing helped. The CPU temperature is about 40 degree celcius. The tool fanspeed cannot detect the fan, in bios we already put to "acoustic" (sounds like a joke for this setting). We would be so happy if anybody could help! For Thinkpads, there are special tools for fan control; however there seems to be nothing for Thinkcenter AIO PCs. If it would be a private PC - no problem to open the case, put better fan inside; however it is new brand new PC from company and we cannot do hardware modifications.

A:M93Z AIO fan noise is terrible ; help please!

Hi there, I also bought a Lenovo M93z and the fan drives me crazy. It's a privat computer and I've opened it. But there is nothing you can do. I also tried the program Fanspeed. But the same problem. It can't find my moherboard. Throughout the internet I found nothing exept following information:http://support.lenovo.com/en_NZ/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT081544&rd=news The problem for me, I don't know if I really can use this bios. When I search through the driver update page. I doesn't show me the same bios. I'm using at the moment the version "FEKT80A". Could you please tell me if you could solve the problem? Thank you very much

I'm trying to find out if I can get a digital surround sound output from my M93z. As far as I can tell there is only one digital audio output native on this PC - the DisplayPort audio connection.  This shows up as Intel HD Audio in the driver list.  I am running Windows 10 x64 and have updated all of the drivers and utilites from Lenovo using their tools. I have had my DisplayPort connected to my TV through the Lenovo supplied DisplayPort to HDMI dongle.  I recently purchased an HDMI audio extractor, one with a switch where you can have it request the PC to provide it with 5.1 audio output.  Even with the TV disconnected from the audio extractor the PC sees the audio extractor device, so this should eliminate the TV from the setup. I know that the PC will only output the audio format that it has to play from a particular program.  However, when I go to Playback Devices and check the properties of that audio connection it states that the maximum supported channels is 2.  I would expect that if everything is being detected correctly that it would state 6 or 5.1 or something like that. (Yes, I realize there are other options to try and get this to work.  Before anyone suggests to purchase a USB sound card please try to answer my question below or help solve my problem.  Changing to a USB sound card is not what I'm asking about here.) So my question becomes: Does the Intel HD Audio device that is built into the M93z... Would any significant problems be expected if I was to try to run my M93Z off of a modified sine wave inverter? I know that pure sine wave inverters are recommended, but it also sounds like a lot of desktop computers have components that monitor and smooth out the power input anyhow. I don't intend to use anything too heavy like video games, just a lot of Excel. Any thought woukd be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!

Hey, so towards the beginning of this year I purchased a refurbished HP pavilion f1703 monitor from a local fix shop. One day while playing a game that ran somewhat slow due to my old computer it shut off and went black on me. Ever since I have tried to find a solution and have had no luck. The monitor will load the dell startup and show bloot into safe mode/startup repair (sometimes) but may randomly cut out. Also tried factory resetting the monitor for lower resolution and it might stay on abit longer before turning black again. The PC works on a TV, but the monitor shutting off after loading screens and even more delayed after lowering resolutions confuses me. Any ideas? Thanks.

Currently, I'm trying to play some of the various games I have. One in particular is Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The issue is it keeps opening up on the second monitor off to my right. Even though I have the one sitting in front of me designated the 'Primary'.

Can't run the game in windowed mode as it doesn't actually support it, even though there is a field for 'Fullscreen' in the default.cfg

Anyone else having this sort of issue?

Note: This game was installed using Steam

So it is an all-in-one, so that is already 1 monitor. On top of that I would like to add 2 more 27" monitors, making a total of 3. Is that possible? I tried it, but it doesn't recognize the 3rd. I think it might be the outlets that are screwy. The VGA doesn't seem to work well.

Running Win10 Pro 1709, the FEKT9DA update for the M93z slowed my system way down.I reverted the BIOS, things sped up again...I applied Microsoft's microcode update from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4090007/intel-microcode-updatesand I didn't lose speed (at least in my usage) and I am now fully protected.Just an FYI for anyone who has these machines.

I was running Windows 7 and everything worked well, I could extent and duplicate monitors.  I use my laptop monitor as monitor #1 and my VGA port with an external VGA Monitor as Monitor #2 and I always extend my monitor. After the upgrade to Windows 10 I get a duplication of Screen #1 on both monitors. I watched numourous videos that show how to extent the monitor but I never get the ability to choose the monitors.  I only get one option, Monitor #1.  Seems like my VGA port is just duplicating everything my laptop screen is projecting. I diverted back to Windows 7 because this option is really important to my work and it works flawlessly.  Going back to Windows 10 and it just still shows the duplication of the laptop screen.

greetings
okay 2 weeks back i got a new mobo - which is on my spec cause the previous foxconn wouldn't support my also new graphics card as on spec.
so the thing is there was a issue while maximizing the windows (say,my computer,my pictures, browser or similar) there seems to appear a black box around the search (after my bro took it to the local shop & got the new stuff fixed it - was gone). (zip to video [it is virus free] - please watch it several times if you see nothing)
so, today i did a fresh install due to some reasons & this problem appears again (note again: i did see it before sending it to the shop but it wasn't there after i got it back again until the fresh install)
i haven't tried fidgeting with the catalyst control center yet..but i would like to know your opinions, & is there a fix for this?
appreciate any help and time

A:confused,monitor/graphics card or windows issue?

I personally can't figure out what it is your asking for help with, could you possibly try and explain what it is your seeing??
Thanks Fabe

We recently purchased 5 ThinkCentre M93z's to complement the 100+ E93z's that we currenlty use in our school district cafeterias. These computers have Windows 7 OS and the only other software we install is Meals Plus software to track students and food purchases. These computers have a Genovation Mini-Terminal model 905-S version 7.20 keypad attached that can either scan a student's ID  card or they can punch in their student ID number to purchase their meals and we install the latest driver for that device. With all 5 of the M93z's we purchased the computers will hang at the Lenovo splash screen (most common) or hang at the Windows Startup screen at the point when you first start to see the colored balls appear. It will stay stuck at this point until you unplug the keypad at which point it will finish booting up.  At point you can plug the device in and use it but once you restart it it will hang up again.  This happened no matter which USB port you use (two on the side or the four on the back). We have never had any issue with the E93z computers.

I have updated the bios. I have removed and reinstalled the lastest USB drivers for this computer.  The bios is set to start up from the hard drive. USB is not one of the startup options.

It conistently does this with all 5 of our M93z's.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I've had the ThinkCentre M93 since July 2014. I run it constantly and have only shut it down a dozen times. When I first went to restart the computer, it only got as far as the Lenovo splash page. It would freeze, I would hold the power-on button for seven seconds, it would shut down. Doing this three or four times, and finally it would start windows and I could use the pc again. Suffice it to say, because of this problem, I rarely turn off the machine.A couple of times I used the OS Recovery Disc that I got with the pc purchase. It has helped a few times. But I feel like there is no true solution yet. Everything I try that works is really just luck. Anyone else having this issue? And found a solution yet? Thanks.
