Q: How do I connect an HDMI(my ps4) to Pavilion All-in-One des...

So my TV stopped working and I'm wanting to connect my PS4 to my computer monitor via HDMI. The problem is that I don't think my computer even recognizes my HDMI for some reason. I plug it in and get nothing, not even a notification of something being plugged in. I tried to connect it a few times when I first got the computer but it didn't work then either. I heard that All in One computers usually have a button you push to start viewing via HDMI, but I haven't found one. As a last resort I tried turning off my PC, plugging my HDMI in and then starting my computer back up. Nothing. Any suggestions?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

@AlexSivef? There should be two more digits and possible a w at the end of the product name. Please post it. 1. The complete Model Name. or Product Number. of the notebook - see This HP web document if you don't how to locate the model number and\or product number. The HP Recline, 27 TouchSmart and the Omni 27 have an HDMI input port that can be selected by the menu keys on the side of the display. The HP AIO 23-1xx PCs do not have an HDMI input port, they have an HDMI output.

A:Can't connect HP Pavilion laptop to TV via HDMI

Hi, Please try to hit F4, this key allows laptop to send signals to external monitor, also TV. Please also check your TV. On many TV's, they require to have the RIGHT input source, therefore you may have to let it know you are connecting a PC (laptop) to it. Regards.

Hello,So i use a projector (Epson SB03) to watch movies (I use my HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC  for this) I use a HDMI adaptor to get a signal to the projector, and about a week ago it stopped connecting. The thing is, it works on my second laptop, so it can't be the projector; either the cable or the HDMI port on the pavillion. I want to see if anyone knows any fixes before i go to buy new cables and adapters etc. any help would be apreciated.thanks~Teje

Hi TejeIf you roll back the AMD Display Adapter driver to the previous version the HDMI output will work again. That's what I discovered when I could not access my Epson Projector. There must be a glitch in the new driver which was issued by AMD in March 2016. CheersWAR1

Hi,

Sounds complicated (To me anyway)

I'm running Windows 7 64bit with 2 video cards (NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT and NVIDIA GeForce GT 240) as I use 3 monitors.

My TV is located where it is not possible to run a cable to it from the PC, It is however beside a CAT5 box that is connected to a CAT5 box beside my PC.

I use a TP-LINK TL-MR3420 router for my PC and wireless access upstairs.
It is connected to a Belkin Share wireless router set up purely as an access point downstairs via the 2 cat boxes mentioned earlier for wireless access and a wired connection to my xBox.

I want to use one of the spare video card ports to connect to my HDTV
I have a HDMI output on the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT and a DVI output on the NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 that are not in use.

I think HDMI is the way to go as I believe I can use a S/PDIF cable to connect my motherboard to my NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT and so I will have audio as well as visual.

My question is:
Can I use a HDMI to CAT5 converter, connect a HDMI cable to the video card output, connect one end of a CAT5 cable to that, the other end to my TP-LINK TL-MR3420 router (Which is connected to my Belkin Share wireless router)
Take a CAT5 to HDMI converter and run a HDMI cable from my Belkin Share wireless router to my HDTV?
Is it possible to do this via a router at all?

Any help is much appreciated ..

A:Connect PC to HDTV via HDMI -> CAT5 -> Router -> Access Point -> CAT5 -> HDMI -> TV

Hi and welcome to TSG.

The HDMI to CAT5 converter most likely sends raw high speed serial video through all four twisted pairs of wires in the CAT5 cable rather than converting the video data to Ethernet compatible data packets. Any Ethernet router or switch would not know what hit it.

Hello @AIM1,  The HDMI port is provided to give output to an External Monitor or TV. You have to use one end HDMI cable to the PC and other end depends on the device port that you are connecting.Whether its has HDMI or a Display port etc,, Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again !!  **Click the White Thumbs Up Button on the right to say Thanks**Make it easier for other people to find solutions by marking a Reply 'Accept as Solution' if it solves your problem. Thank You,GBL84I am not an HP Employee

Hi allI have an HP Pavilion 15-bc000nx with Integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 and a dedicated GTX 960M (4gb). I want to use the HDMI out to use my (1080p) TV as a monitor to watch a movie or play a game while closing the laptop lid. When I do so, the game becomes very laggy and slow (unplayable). When I run Fraps it give me 60 fps !!!!This happens also when I open the lid and choose duplicate displays and adjust the resolution to 1080p, as well as when I close the lid and choose show display 2 only (the TV). In both cases. When I play the game while duplicating displays it runs ultra smooth on the laptop display and at the same time still laggy and jittery on the TV, yet both diplays give 60 fps !!!! I am sure it is not a hardware problem, but how to solve this problem?? Any kind of adjustments or settings I can modify?(N.B. I tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling the new ones for both intel and nvidia from HP website, also I tried another TV) Hope someone would help meThanks

I cannot see how you are connecting it using an HDMI cable. The rear I/O ports do not include an HDMI video out port.I will post an image of the I/O ports here in a moment.  You would have to have a discrete video card installed that has an HDMI connector at the rear of the PC to use HDMI. HDMI audio comes through the same cable that its video does. If you have a discrete video card installed then you should see something similar to the following image. The AMD High Definition audio is for the outputs on the Radeon r7 card that is installed int this desktop for HDMI on the video card.

I have recently purchased a HP Pavilion 22bw 21.5 inch monitor so that I may hook my PS3 and PC up to it at the same time,(HDMI and DVI respectfully). Things have been working great so far until today.  I was installing a game onto my PS3 hard-drive and switched back over to my PC. After about 20 minutes, I switched back and the screen was blank. I restarted my PS3 and notcied that while the HDMI output was being detected(no out of signal range messages or any of that), the screen remained black and the monitor's native control screens were blinking. Switching back to my PC, and all was fine. I have tried everything I could on the PS3 end( reset it to factory defaults and everything) and still no dice. I hooked it up to our flat screen in the livinging room and it works like a charm. Plugging it back into my monitor after that showed no improvmenet. So, the PS3 seems fine, the HDMI cable itself seems fine as well. So that just leaves Mr. Monitor. I haven't had any trouble with it prior to this point and I am infact using my PC and monitor right now to type this post. Any and all help would be great appreciated. Dear reader,  Any help is much appreciated:  Some time ago I bought a HP screen, Pavilion 23xi. The screen works well as a DVI connection to my Macbook Pro. Now having a new Macbook Pro with a HDMI portal, I've connected the Macbook and HP screen via HMDI. The first week this seemed to work excellent; a really bright, stable screen. However, the last week the connection became so unstable (blanks, snow) that it's become unworkable. Now I've switched again to a DVI connection with a slightly lesser quality. Because of the good quality I would like to keep using the HP monitor via HDMI. I know that HP doesn't support the Apple operation system, but still: is there a way to get this combination working? Thanks in advance for your help.Kind regards, ThijsThe Netherlands

A:Unworkable HDMI-connection HP Pavilion 23xi and Macbook Pro

@Paradigma?, welcome to the forum. If you are using DVI-D or -I (both digital), the quality of the picture should be comparable to HDMI.  The only difference is HDMI transmits both video and audio in one cable and DVI transmits only video.  Without drivers for OS X, I am not certain what you can do differently. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I went out and bought an HDMI cable and just assumed it would connect right away. I'm using WIN7 (don't make fun.. I like it.) But no matter what I do, I can't seem to figure out why it won't connect. I can usually figure out computer-type things but I'm stumped.

Have you setup multi monitor? If not, you must do this unless you are going to use the TV as the only monitor.
Have you selected the correct hdmi input to the TV? Many TVs have multiple hdmi connections [my home theater TV has four]

I'm unable to connect my computer to any HDMI enabled monitor. I've tried monitors from 3 different manufacturers, and no one works.Other computers do connect to those 3 different monitors. I've tried a HDMI to HDMI cable and a HDMI to DVI-D cable, no luck with either cabel.I've followed other posts that recommended pressing the Windows key + p and trying different projection styles. No luck.I've downloaded HP Support Assistant and installed/updated any drivers that it found out of date. Windows Update is set to automatically install new updates.  Any help resolving this will be greatly appreciated.

HiI bought this laptop last week and have attempted to connect it to my TV to use as an external display as I used to do with my old Dell laptop but have been unable to do it. I know 'how' to do it but when I connect the HDMI, it just doesn't detect the signal so I am unable to select any of the options (Extend/ Duplicate etc). I have tried looking at the Graphics Properties to no avail. I just can't find the option to change anything that will actually make it worse. The HDMI cable definitely works (I have tried it with another device and it worked fine). Can I have some advice please? I'll also stress again that this is a brand new laptop suggesting that all drivers etc are up to date. ThanksAlex
