5.1 Surround Sound not sending bass to the subwoofer

Q: 5.1 Surround Sound not sending bass to the subwoofer

Hi. I recently ordered a Frisby FS-5020BT, along with an Optimal Shop 5.1 external sound card. For some reason, stereo audio doesn't redirect low frequency sounds to the subwoofer channel and instead only utilizes the front left and right speakers. When playing 5.1 content, such as a Blu-Ray movie, all 5 channels and the subwoofer are used, like they are supposed to. When I run the sound test in audio playback devices options, the subwoofer does vibrate. Is there some driver I need to install to get stereo audio to utilize the subwoofer, or will I just have to get used to no real bass when playing music from YouTube? Any help is appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi guys...
I just plugged my Onkyo 6.1 Channel (S-680) to my computer. I connected the receiver to the Digital Out port of my motherboard (Intel 915GV Chipset-Asus PTGD1 - LA). It uses the Realtek ALC880 drivers. Whenever I open Sound Effect Manager and do the Speaker Test, sound comes only from my front speakers. The rears/centre/sub all light up but no sound is played. However, while running games/music/films I get sound from all my speakers (though not very satisfactory and not real surround sound). Can anyone please help me with this?

Also, I can't open Realtek HD Audio Manager (RTHDCPL.exe). Only RTLCPL.exe (Sound Effect Manager) works. When I click on RTHDCPL.exe nothing happens. Please do help out.

Thanks.

A:No Sound From Surround/Centre/Subwoofer In Realtek Sound Effect Manager Test

try this:

1) try to go to the settings of your sound effect manager & there are selections there for 2.0,2.1.5.1 or what ever you may find that corresponds to your speaker channel.

2) if nothing corresponds to the given selections, try to download the latest audio driver from your motherboard's manufacturer website.

3) otherwise, you need to plug-in a sound card that has the feature to play with 6.1 channel audio.

goodluck

Hi everybody.

Well i have a stereo 5.1 system by Creative, version SBS 580.
When i first got the computer everything was fine, then my brother bought those headphones, so we didnt use the speakers at all.
so after about 1-2 years without use i plugged them in and tried to use them.
The problem occured was that only the subwoofer worked, none of the speaked did,
and the subwoofer only worked at the "Realtek HD Audio Manager" program.
I tried reading forums of creative, tried to connect the system to the computer in many ways, all of the ways give me the same result, only the subwoofer produces sound.
the way creative's guide say to connect the speakers is like that :
ImageShack? - Online Photo and Video Hosting
The program that im using is "Realtek HD Audio Manager" :
ImageShack? - Online Photo and Video Hosting

so when i play this play button, only the subwoofer makes the sound, non of the speakers. All of them are connected to the subwoofer correctly, they are turned on.
no technical problems.

Is it a driver's problem?

Please help me, Im exhausted...

A:Surround 5.1 problem, Only subwoofer produces sound

As the subwoofer also contains the amplifier(s) and routing of sound, I would suspect that is where the problem is.

You can verify that you are getting audio output from each of the three PC sound connections by hooking a headset to each output and playing audio. If you hear audio (it will only be that channel) from each output then that isolates the problem to the speaker system. On the other hand, if you do not hear audio from all the jacks, make sure 5.1 is set in the Sound Panel, playback section. Click on the speakers icon to highlight it and then click on the Configure button and select 5.1. If that doesn't fix it, reinstall the PC Vendor or motherboard if its a home built system, RealTek audio drivers. They will work better than non-Vendor drivers.

So as the title says, I have set up a surround sound system using 2 sets of speakers. The first set is set up as the front speakers in the realtek audio manager, and the second set is set up as rear speakers. I have it set up as 7.1 with no sides, subwoofer, or center speakers. Front, left, and right is checked, as well as surround sound. The sub is on my front speakers, and works fine. The rear speakers however get absolutely no bass, only treble, and sound super tinny and terrible. The speakers are fine, and work and sound great if there set as front speakers. What's the problem? I originally had another subwoofer/speaker combo hooked up as the rear, but the subwoofer didn't vibrate at all. I thought maybe I should just hook up some normal speakers with built in subs. Same thing though, they just sound terrible. I also have dolby home theater on, and if I shut it off the rear speakers don't even work when playing music. They work if I click the speaker icon in realtek.

A:surround sound with 2 sets of speakers, no bass from rear

In many cases if you don't have an actual 5.1 or 7.1 system you can't "assemble" a surround system, or a system that works properly. In a surround system, there are three connections to the PC's audio and they go to the main unit (bass speaker) that has amplifiers and sound distribution.

Trying to duplicate that with separate speaker systems can result in problems such as you are encountering.

I recently bought myself a new computer & ever since, have been having nothing but troubles. 1 in particular is no bass coming out of my subwoofer. I had a computer built in 2000 that ran XP Pro and my Altec Lansing speakers worked great. Now I have Windows 7 & Realtek HD On-board sound which gives absolutely no bass. Just curious if anyone has heard anything about a conflict between Realtek HD and Windows 7?

Thanks in advance for any help.

A:no bass coming out of my subwoofer

Of course you're not getting any bass out of your sub...Microsoft switched over to salmon for Win 7.

Welcome to Windows 7 Forum!

Seriously, though. I have Realtek HD on-board (ASUS mobo) and an old Altec Lansing 2.1 speaker system, and my sub works fine. The crossover in the speaker system should handle the job of sending LF signals to the sub, nothing in Windows or the Realtek hardware.

Maybe just make sure every cable is hooked up correctly and not damaged. My A-T sub has a special connector that has several small pins. If your is the same, make sure the pins are not bent. If everything looks fine, open the sub and check for a blown fuse. Worst-case, your sub may have bit the dust.

Ok I may seem repeating the thing posted before by some guys but it's a real trouble for me.My system's specs are as;
Dell N-5110 Core i7-2630QM 2.0GHz
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Service Pack 1
Ram 4 GB
When I plug in Creative SBS A320 Speaker System - 2.1 , I can hear sound but there is no bass at all with music playing.I tried many solutions/fixes but can't get rid of this annoying thing.I have installed Realtek High Definition Audio Driver and also have pre-installed Dell Audio by IDT.I checked the Bass Boost in Speakers=>Enhancements, Installed/Re-Installed drivers/ Checked pins.I really don't wanna mess up with my drivers again so decided to ask some reliable expert like you people.Speakers are perfect with other devices except for my Laptop.
Do I need any Audio Manager to install on my system? Can I solve my problem you know how empty it feels without Bass.
(By the way Like many others, My system speakers are also dead for no reason.Cant hear anything without external sound system/headphones)

A:Bass and subwoofer not working in Windows 7 64 bit

First, you must use the Dell supplied drivers. Non-Dell drivers in many cases will either not work or not work correctly.

Here is the correct Dell IDT driver for the N5110. Drivers and Downloads | Dell [United States]

Install that and then see if it fixes it. As you have installed an incorrect driver, the RealTek, you may have to completely uninstall all sound drivers before installing the correct one.

I purchased a new Asus laptop a few weeks ago with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. The laptop has Conexant Cocoa II High Definition SmartAudio speakers. The problem I'm having is in regards to the sound I am getting from both my laptop speakers and my external speakers which plug into the headphone port not having any bass. When I have my external speakers plugged into my old laptop running Windows XP the sound is fine and all speakers and subwoofer work, so I know it is all wired properly. When I unplug from my old laptop and plug it into my new one with Windows 7, there is no bass being played. The subwoofer doesn't work and the bass that usually comes from the speakers is not present, and turning up the subwoofer doesn't do anything. I've tried to use the "Bass Management" enhancement feature in the speaker properties, but it has no effect. The only thing I've been able to find that will lead to the sound having bass, is when I enter the set-up for the "Room Correction" feature in the enhancement tab for the speaker properties. During the set-up, the sound has bass, but as soon as the set-up finishes the sound returns to having no bass. The odd part is when sound is playing out of just the laptop speakers, the "Room Correction" set-up menu causes bass to be played out of them too. So I know my laptop has the potential to play bass, it just seems like something is stopping it. I cannot find any equalizer feature. My laptop didn't have Realte... Read more

The issue I have is really annoying and confusing me.
I have some 5.1 Speakers (5 Speakers - 1 Subwoofer).
They're quite old now (10+ years), but work perfectly fine.
For quite some time (I think since I actually got the new mainboard) the subwoofer is not working.
Not working is a bit vague and not interly correct, so let me elaborate.
They're all plugged in correctly, driver installed and working.
Testing the speakers on by one (eitherway by the Realtek Audio-Manager or from Windows) they work - even the subwoofer.
But when I try to play audiofiles with a program(winamp, windows media player, etc) there is no bass and the subwoofer is not working.
I tried to fiddle with the options there and the equalizer. No dice.
The same is with any games. Not working.
But now comes the weird part.
I use Mozilla Firefox as browser and if I try to play music on youtube the bass works(!).
Perfectly fine.
I tried to look into windows settings, audio-settings from realtek, everything I can think off.
Can't figure it out at all.
But how come the subwoofer works perfectly fine on Firefox and YouTube but not with anything else I try to use it with?
It's really confusing and annoying for me and if anyone has any advice, it would be really appriciated.
Information I should add:
I use Win7-64 bit as OS
Mainboard: Gigabyte Z68X-UD3-B3
I use the onboard soundcard
All drivers are updated
(re-installed them too)

A:5.1 Sound Problems - No Bass

Going to have you try the normal options. Right click on the speaker icon on your taskbar, click on mixer and make sure all the applications (mainly windows sounds) are on full volume and not muted.
Try booting in safe mode with networking and try replicating the issue.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7
Let me know how it goes.

Hey,

So i have on-board realtek HD audio card (6 jack) with my 5.1 system connected via 3 jacks (front , surround & sub). The problem is that i've just run the auto calibration thing with the microphone and it worked fine and calibrated all of my speakers, but now my subwoofer doesnt work with ANY playback at all inc. movies and music etc.

My system automatically does its own "speaker fill" if just a stereo input is connected - which is what it was until i performed the calibration tool. And i know that all of the jacks are connected in the proper place because when i go into settings - (the screen where you can click on each individual speaker to test them), they all work fine.

I've noticed that if i use the EQ tool in WMP and turn it all to the max, i get some bass through - but only the real low-freq. stuff. It's not outputting the full range.

Like i said about my system working with just a stereo input - currently i can leave Front and Surround plugged in and unplug the Sub / Center cable - but then , obviously, i lose the speech as its coming from the center speaker.

Please help
Thanks

EDIT: Oh and also - everytime i download the realtek drivers for it - it says "This file cannot be unpacked.." so i googled that problem and tried installing windows installer 3.1 - which then told me i haven't got enough storage to perform the request. ??

This is a really weird situation. I walked across a carpet and then touched the volume knob on my 2.1 computer speakers to turn them down, but when I walked across the carpet I built up a static charge and when I touched the knob the charge jumped about a 1/4 of an inch and went into either the bass knob or volume knob. After that happened I heard a loud pop from the speakers and then they stopped working. I unplugged them and plugged them in and they started working again, but now the bass knob doesn't do anything, the speakers constantly pump out full bass. I have no clue what is wrong, I would have thought it would be the rheostat, but that should stand up to low current high voltage shouldn't it?

A:Problem with my speaker's bass sound

The static charge probably "burned out" the bass control circuit. That "small" spark could have been in the 100,000 volt range. Could this damage? YES!

Hey guys,
I just recently bought a Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit external sound card to connect my 5.1 speaker set into. I plug the Sound Blaster into my laptop which runs Windows Vista Business.
I have been able to get all the speakers working with the Windows drivers installed using the "Virtual Sound" option (Control Panel -> Sound -> Speakers -> Enhancements.) Windows tests all speakers correctly also.
However, when I install the updated Creative drivers it will continue to use only 2 speakers even with DVD's etc... even though Windows understands I am using 5.1
I would just leave it without the Creative drivers, however I need them in order to record audio properly through its inputs.
Has anyone else encountered this, or know how to fix this? Damn Vista always causing problems
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bruce

Hello,
I am new to this forum due to a bug with my bass boost. I had some problems earlier with my gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3, Socket-AM3+ and my Tiamat subwoofer not working. Uninstalled Realtek and Dolby to get it working again. Now i have some bass atleast, eventhough i would like to have some more. So i tried to enable bass boost as it worked great in my past.

So here is the problem: If i enable bass boost, after some time, the sounds start going all robotic (noticed it first on skype) and as soon as I disabled bass boost again, everything worked great.

Ask me if you wonder about anything, ill try my best to explain.

I logged into Windows and tried playing some Youtube videos and stuff to see if the sound was working. It turns out it was, but the sound was only coming out of the subwoofer on the bottom of the laptop and sounded TERRIBLE. When I plug in my headphones it sounds fine except the volume doesn't go as loud as it did before. Pressing the mute button does mute the sound, but it still stays red no matter what.

So I tried resotring my system back to a point when the speakers were working to see if it was a hardware problem, and it turns out it's not. When I restore to an earlier point, the speakers work fine. The problem, however, is for some stupid reason I can't login at the restore point. I just know the speakers work because the error sound comes out of the Altec Lansings on the front, and the mute button actually changes colors.

I've spent the last 3 hours trying everything I can think of. I've downloaded new IDT High Def Audio Drivers, I've uninstilled them in hard... Read more

Hello
My brand new xps L501X arrived last week (Wednesday).
Since the first time i hit the startup button, i noticed a ticking sound from
the bottom subwoofer (2.1 JBL speakers + waves audio:
stereo speakers and subwoofer). I
updated all my drivers and bios and it’s still there. So did something go wrong in the assembly?
Or did I miss something? Someone with a simelar problem?

Some observations:
There’s no steady pattern
It’s happens a few times a minute
No cell phones or whatsoever nearby ((tried it on different locations, still there)
It’s really annoying me

Thanks

A:xps L501X: Ticking sound from jbl subwoofer

I just received my new custom built L501X on Tuesday (30th Nov) and I have the exact same problem.  It is a minor clicking / popping noise that occurs seemingly at random whether I am on the desktop, running an application or even playing a game.  I noticed it first coming from the built in speakers but now have external speakers plugged in and can hear it coming though them as well.  Also when wearing headphones it is quite noticable so I have to assume it is something to do with the sound card.  It's not the worst thing in the world but as with any new expensive long term purchase like a laptop we want it to be as perfect as possible.
Same basic observations as the above post.  I have also tried disabling the built in mic as I figured this might be
causing some interference but popping noise still occurs.  One thing I have noticed is that the noise seems to occur much more frequently when I am navigating around "my computer" or when I am working in the control panel windows.  I also notice the popping noise just before the windows sound effect when I click to transition back or forth into folders and then it will always occur again 4 seconds after.
Aha....I think I might have actually just solved the problem while writing this!!  I have gone into control panel, sounds, and turned off the sound effect for "start navigation" and presto...I'm not hearing the click at all any more.  Will have to see if... Read more

Hello. Dell does not support Windows 8.1 or 10 on the XPS L502x model and cautions that you might lose some functionality if you do run Win10. There is no Dell-provided audio driver for your laptop with Windows 10.
However you should be able to install the Realtek audio driver for Windows 8 with no problem.
If there is a problem, try to install the driver with Compatibility mode:
1. Download and save the audio driver to your desktop or any convenient location on the hard drive.  2. Double click on the new folder to extract (unzip) the driver files.3. The extractor wizard will create a new folder for the driver files. It will be at "c:\dell\drivers\xxxxxx". Write down the exact location that the wizard creates. 4. If the driver begins to install automatically, halt (cancel) the installation.5. Browse to the driver files on the hard drive (the location you wrote down).6. Find the "setup.exe" file.7. Right click on setup.exe to open the context menu.8. Select the Properties.9. Select the Compatibility tab.10. Check the box "run this program in compatibility mode for Win8.

I don't know if there is a way on your model or not. In one of the other threads that you posted on today, one of the moderators had posted an earlier reply saying that there is no way to disable. You could look through the BIOS settings. At la... Read more

is there any program that can make my normal speakers sound quiter but to leave my subwoofer the same loudness ... i might not be very clear and i cannot express myself very good but i have an example : in the sound section in control panel you can make the right speaker louder or left (and such) and there is also an option for subwoofer but it wont make it louder... so basicly my question is can i make my subwoofer sound louder compared to the other speakers ?

you could try messing with the EQ in your media player. boost the bass frequencies (125Hz and lower). i recommend against this though, you are changing what the music is supposed to sound like.

Hi,

I just upgraded my HP dv7-1135ea from Vista to Windows 7 RC and the speakers are not producing sound, only the reflex subwoofer at the base of the laptop is producing sound.

Is there something I can do to get the speakers working? While installing Windows 7, the installation complained of a compatibility issue with Quick Launch Buttons, could this be the reason for the abnormal behaviour and what can I do to rectify this?

Please help.

I setup a subwoofer to run from the pc from the orange hole to the sub via a 3.5mm to rca cable. I can't get it to play sound from any other program other than pandora, battlefield and youtube. VLC, netflix, mediamonkey all ignore the sub and don't use it. My speakers are connected to the computer through the green hole to the t amp (no sub out on the amp). I tried downloading my audio drivers but I get an error saying "can't find hd audio device". My motherboard is a gigabyte gaz77xd3h running on the latest f18i bios. When i was on 7 the drivers worked fine, but on 8.1 they don't install. I've tried the original version that came with the mobo and the most recent one and both don't work.

You apparently are trying to circumvent the speaker setup with the separate bass speaker. Audio systems are set up to feed audio based on how you have your speakers set up (e.g. 2.1 stereo , 5.1, etc). As you apparently have a 2.1 (or 2.0) speakers connected to the green speaker jack, what do you have the speaker type set as?

In multiple speaker setups such as a 4.1, 5.1, 7.1, etc although there are separate connections to the speaker jacks, its really controlled internally in the speaker system, not separate like you want to do it. What you are doing may work with some functions but its not the correct/legitimate setup.

As Mentioned in my post about a Creative Sound Blaster Value 1024 WDM sound card, i got a Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer to replace it. Everything worked fine until I found out about a new driver that came out just an hour ago for the card, I installed it. Ever since, my subwoofer hasn't done anything and my sound doesn't work properly. Everything is working fine according to Windows. And no, I didn't download the XP Driver.

Anyone know why this is? I even rolled back to my previous driver, nothing worked.

Oh by the way, as a side question, does your resolution HAVE to be 600x800 on older TV's when using a tv as a monitor? I have a tv that's 3 years old and I can't fit 600x800 resolution on the screen at all. And my video card isn't capable of going any lower.

I just got back and unpacked my PC and set it up at my apartment. It has been three months since my last use here (I was gone for a while) and now I am noticing that the Windows XP sound effects have only a bass component. No treble or high tones at all. However, all applications that have sounds work perfectly. Because the other applications and programs run fine, I am ruling out a wiring problem when I set up my compuiter again. I think this is software related. I installed new updates and rebooted, but I am fairly certain that this behavior was present before I even downloaded the new updates from Windows that it recommended. Now, can anybodt suggest something I should do to help troubleshoot? I have already ensured no sound channel is muted, such as the WAVE channel, and I can definitely hear a deep bass sound at times I would expect to hear a full audio clip. Any ideas?

A:Solved: Windows XP Sound Effects have ONLY a bass component

My first thought would be one of your speakers is not working. (it could also be a faulty cable - the point is, one speaker is not producing sound correctly). To test this theory, open the "volume control" application and move the slider under "balance" either to the far left or the far right. Under one of those settings, you should then hear the entire sound clip correctly (if the speakers are the problem).

Yes, no, maybe?

what other ways can i hook it up possibly, do i have to get a new sound card, can I add a sound card! HELP PLEASE!!! want all 6 speakers to work

A:Solved: sound help setting up 5.1 surround sound

You only have 2 Channel audio.

You can use the Matrix(Surrround) button on the speakers to get audio from all the speakers when using only a 2 channel input but its not as good as having true 6 channel output from the PC.

Or you can buy a Creative Live! Or Audigy card such as this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829102003

Hi all this is my first post here..

First of all I have an Acer 5943G model laptop. I have a weird issue since yesterday when I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10. Everything is working fine except that all sound is coming from the subwoofer speaker beneath the laptop instead of the R L speakers above the keyboard.

I have downloaded and updated the latest Realtek HD Audio drivers etc and have gone through the sound settings time and time again to ensure that everything is right. Everything is indeed right in the settings so I really don't know what else I can do to be able to fix this problem. I know this is not a hardware issue because the speakers were working fine on Windows 7.

I have also plugged in my headphones to test the sound that way and it works as it should, I do get stereo sound on my headphones.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated as I really don't know how to fix this after spending hours on it. Thanks in advance.

A:Laptop sound coming from subwoofer instead of RL speakers.

Check to see if the PC came with any Sound Enhancement, such as Dolby, SoundBlaster MB, etc. Could be one of those is not Windows 10 compatible and causing the problem, or may just a configuration.

One other thing you can try, even though you downloaded the Realtek. Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the Realtek sound entry to highlight it and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound. This fixes a lot of problems and may take care of yours.

I recently bought a creative 5.1 sound system for my pc, but every now and then (usually when a new screen opens) the sub woofer makes a noise.
Ive tried several things and I think ive narrowed it down to windows sound effect or sound card. The sound effect is when there is a screen change which is being detected and played by the bass woofer. I'm not sure where I would find this in the control panel I have looked and cant see where to disable.
Regarding the sound card, if your monitor has built in speakers and your sound card is getting confused between the different systems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

A:Sound issue -- noise coming from subwoofer

I think you can find all the Windows sounds under Control Panel->Sound->Sounds tab. You can select a system sound and then hit the Play button (it's the right arrow button) to play and hear it through your speakers. Don't know why you're having the problem but is one way to check system sound playback

Hi Guys!

I hope I'll get an useful answer here!

My problem is that i don't get any bass out of my subwoofer, my system (as i configurate) recognizes my subwoofer, but as soon as i listen to music there's no sound coming out of it!
My other speakers work, but only the bass is missing!

I wanted to install the console launcher from CD, but in Setup windows said "couldn't find any compatible hardware. Setup will be closed"

But i do not find any latest console launcher in Creative technical support, that's compatible with my Live 24 bit soundcard.

I started this thread, because i couldn't contact any other user who's problem was solved ^^

Is there a chance that the subwoofer isn't connected?  No sound at all coming from it.
Checked device manager and everything is fine.  Tried installing driver from Dell found in my account.  Still no subwoofer sounds at all, not even a crackle.
Seems weird for a new AW build to be missing subwoofer functionality.

Hi there, So I recently had to get my Harddrive replaced, and OS (Windows 7 Home Premium) reinstalled through a company. However on return of the laptop, my sound and other things were messed up.  (Dell XPS L502X)- WavesMaxx Buttons not working/ no MaxxAudio- Sound appears to only come out of the central subwoofer, despite not failing any hardware tests. Its almost like the L n R treble speakers are being ignored. Something is majorly unbalanced. - Fn Keyboard Functions not working. -  e.g I cant turn the Wifi  on/off or lock my touchpad. Given the company (caused a huge faff with a ton of screw ups on their part to even get my laptop back I really don't want to take it back to them) I decided to try and fix some things myself. - Used the utilities disk to reinstall Quickset64 which now means that the Waves Button Now works to bring up MaxxAudio, but the speakers still aren't working and the EQ sliders don't change anything. - Tested using Dells 32 bit hardware diagnosis, and no errors, but the LnR still seems to be coming out of the Subwoofer located in the centre during the test play. - Deleted and reinstall all the realtek drivers from both the utilities disk, AND the Dell website. And basically I still haven't manage to fix the problem. - Headphones output  has always worked completely fine. These issues did not exist before the OS reinstall, so I thought it was drivers, but now I really have... Offshot1stnot that you'd even need to take the speakers out to change the harddrive...
True, but do have to remove the palm rest assembly. It could be that they didn't know how to get to the hard drive and took the whole thing apart.
Offshot1stI'm at a loss as to what to test next, without literally taking the whole laptop apart physically and checking the speakers haven't been plugged in wrong
That's what you would have to do if you want to fix it yourself and don't want to take it somewhere to be worked on. You can download the XPS L502x Service Manual which has clear instructions for disassembly.
Offshot1stTested using Dells 32 bit hardware diagnosis, and no errors, but the LnR still seems to be coming out of the Subwoofer located in the centre during the test play.
The audio part is interactive. If you don't hear the music coming through the speakers during the test, then that is the error. If it were a software problem that you could fix with drivers etc., you would hear audio as expected during the test.
